"Wow." They both said in sync as they parted each other's sweaty bodies. These alone nights and mornings in Wisconsin were definitely what the pair needed.

"Who knew being married would spark up your sex life? I thought marriage was suppose to decrease it?" Jay chuckled as he sat on the edge of the bed.

"This in all the books you read Halstead?" Erin said rolling her eyes.

"Just what I hear." Jay shrugged and stood up.

"Where are you going?" Erin said trying to pull Jay back onto the bed.

"I need a breather." Jay said trying to catch his breath.

"So your done then?"

"Just in between rounds, you know that." Jay winked and walked off towards the bathroom.

Erin got up and walked out to the kitchen, pouring herself a coffee. It had been 2 days since their wedding, only one night left and they'd be back in Chicago. She still hadn't told Jay about Bunny and she knew she needed to before they went back to home.

She waited for Jay outside, "Here you are." Jay said giving her a kiss before snuggling next to her.

"Hey, how was your shower?"

"Lonely, thought my wife would've joined me," Jay chuckled but when he didn't get a reaction from Erin he frowned, "Babe what's going on?"

"There's something I need to tell you."

"You don't want to try for a baby anymore?" Jay pulled away from her.

"No no no," Erin said grabbing his hand, "Of course not. I can't wait to have another baby with you."

Jay took a breath, "Don't scare me like that. So what's up then?"

"I saw Bunny the night of our wedding."

Jay was shocked, why wouldn't she tell him? "What?"

"She said because I got my job back in Chicago that the deal was ruined so they were trying to put her in jail, I don't know how real that is Hanks looking into it." Erin shrugged.

"Hanks looking into it? So you could tell him but not me?" Jay said annoyed.

"Hank happened to be there and hear it all, Jay I didn't want to wreck our night, I'm sorry."

"Fine okay. So what now then?"

"I think something more is going on, she seemed agitated, scared and I could tell she'd been using again."

"Erin do you really think you should be getting involved? I mean look what happened last time."

"Jay..."

"No I'm serious, I know she's your mum and you feel like you have to protect her or save her but why? She never protected you? Never saved you? You told me that you never wanted to bring her into our daughters life because she's poison, but as soon as you see her and something seems wrong you want to fix it. Erin your never going to be able to fix her."

"I don't know I guess that's just what I'm use to, fixing my mothers mess." Erin shrugged.

"Babe that's not your job anymore."

"Then what do I do Jay? Just forget she came and saw me? Forget about all this? I can't do that."

"Would it be a bad thing it she actually went to jail?" Jay shrugged.

Erin scoffed, "Seriously?"

"Well come on Er, maybe it would pull her in line?"

"So what about when Lily is old enough to ask about her grandparents? What do we tell her about my mother?"

"Come on Erin don't do that, don't bring Lily into this." Jay said angrily.

"Well!"

"Seriously why are you trying to protect her! Erin you have a family now. A husband and a daughter, you need to think about us for once, not her."

"I really don't want to argue about this with you."

"I just don't understand you. You said she was poison so why do you want her in our lives?"

Erin shrugged, "I don't know. Maybe I just keep hoping one day she will make good instead of bad."

"People like her never change Erin, you know this," Jay said getting up to crouch in front of Erin, "Look if you want to figure out what's going to happen with her then fine I will support you but I just don't want you getting hurt again and I certainly don't want it to affect us."

"Okay."

"Just promise me one thing?" Erin looked up and nodded, "If something bad does happen to her, don't put yourself in the middle of it. I can't have you going all Erin Lindsay on me and getting yourself into god knows what mess."

"Promise."

That night while Jay was showering, Erin's phone started ringing, it was Hank.

"Hey Hank, whats up?"

"So bunny isn't lying, they are looking into her case again since you got your job back in intelligence. But the only reason I think that is, is because of the guy she is dating, he is messed up in some pretty bad shit and I think then saying all this they are trying to get her to flip on him or get some information."

"Okay so what's the pretty bad shit then?"

"Stolen drugs which I'm assuming Bunny is in on it or knows something. He is also known for many domestics they have been trying to catch him for a while now."

"Bunny had bruisings up her arms...So what are we going to do about it?"

"We are not going to do anything. Erin you can't be involved in any of this and you need to stop feeling bad for her, she got herself into this mess."

"Hank come on. What if she actually came to see me because she wants to get out? Once again she's just caught up in something, what if he is hurting her so she stays?"

"Erin your making excuses for her. She had the chance to stay out of mistakes like this, stay clean, all that. But she couldn't do that."

"I can't just let her rot on her own."

"Just let me figure it out."

"Fine."

"Does Jay know?"

"Yes."

"How does he feel?"

"How do you think Hank? He doesn't think very highly of her, he thinks I should keep my distance and not let her back into our lives."

"He's not wrong. Do you really want her around Lily?"

"I know he's not wrong! No I don't, look what happened to me! But for some reason I just can't let myself do nothing. I just can't and I don't know why."

"Okay look, I will talk to some people."

"Okay, night Hank."

"Night."

Erin sighed and threw the phone across the bed frustrated, he head sunk before she was startled by Jay stepping out of the bathroom. Dripping wet with a towel wrapped around his waist, usually she'd rip it off hun but that's not where her mind was at.

"You okay?"

"Sit for a minute?" Jay nodded and sat next to her, she filled him in about everything Hank said. Jay agreed with Hank straight away this wasn't her battle to fightand he kept saying that for once Bunny needed to be the adult and sort it out for herself for once.

"Okay look, here's what we are going to do. Once we are back in Chicago your going to get in contact with bunny and we are going to get down to the bottom of it all. Then we figure out what the feds actually want, if she can help then that's what we get her to do. If she can't do that then I think you just need to let go of the thought that your mother can be saved? Because what are the options we have? Honestly?" Jay said bringing Erin close to his side.

"Okay."

"Okay?"

"I know your right. I just have to let it go if she doesn't want to escape this life then I can't keep trying to give her a life line." Erin shrugged.

"It will be okay Er."

"You can't promise me that Jay," she sighed, "At least I know we are going to be okay."

"Always."

Once they were home they still had a few days before they had to go back to work. Although they enjoyed the time alone they sure did miss their little girl and Lily sure missed them too.

Jay thought these last couple days would involve chilling out, going to the park, relaxing but of course everything with Bunny he needed to get to the bottom of it, he didn't want it dragging on any longer then it needed to.

"Babe?" Jay yelled as he walked into the apartment, Chinese in hand.

"In here." Erin shouted from the bathroom.

He walked over to the kitchen counter and placed the Chinese on it and then walked into the bathroom, he chuckled when he saw an extreme amount of bubbles and Erin absolutely soaked, "Don't laugh Halstead."

"Did we get a little carried away with the bubbles huh?" Jay smiled as he crouched down next to the bath.

"This one thought it would be funny to pour the whole bottle in when mummy wasn't looking."

"Full of tricks aren't you munchkin." Jay said as he brushed his fingers in Lily's bubbled up hair.

"Daddy bath?"

"Nah daddy won't fit, sorry sweetheart."

"Come on Lily let's get you out and to bed?" Erin said grabbing the towel.

Lily lifted her hands up straight away, "I will just get this one dried and dressed then do you want to read her a bedtime story?"

"Of course!" Jay said happily.

Erin dished up their dinner while Jay read to Lily. Jay seemed to be in a good mood and she hoped it would stay that way even when she tells him that they are meeting Bunny tomorrow.

Jay walked out and gave his wife a hug, "God I love that little girl of ours."

"Me too. We done well."

Jay turned Erin around and hugged her from behind, placing his hands on her stomach, "Hopefully soon we have another one to love just as much."

"Soon baby, soon. Now let's eat I'm starving."

After a few minutes of eating Jay could tell Erin was pushing her food around, even though she had said how hungry she was this is what she usually done when there was something going on upstairs and at the moment there was a lot.

"Erin? Did you talk to Bunny?"

"We gotta go into the district tomorrow, thought meeting her there will be better then her coming here. Especially when we don't know who these people are that she's hanging around."

"What do you want to do with Lil?"

"Kim said she'd look after her while we are there."

"Okay."

"Can you please say more then okay?"

"Babe I'm in a really good mood, I don't want to change that by talking about your mother."

"Well your going to have to talk about it tomorrow." Erin said frustrated.

"I know this, that's why I want tonight to be nice."

"Okay sure," Erin picked up her plate and got up, "I'm sorry that all this is happening, this is suppose to be a good time for both of us."

Jay grabbed her hand before she could walk away, "It still is, I'm sorry for being so blunt...It's just...She always comes in like a wrecking ball. I can't lose you again."

"You won't Jay. I promise." Erin said leaning over to give him a kiss.

The next morning the three walked into the district, a little before Bunny was going to arrive because they wanted to sort Lily out beforehand. They still were unsure whether they wanted Bunny to meet her or not, they were just leaving that decision open.

Once Lily was being occupied by Kim they wanted for Bunny in Hanks office.

"How you feeling kid?" Hank asked Erin who was sitting next to Jay tapping her leg, she just wanted this to be over.

"Ask me that after we deal with Bunny."

Suddenly there was a knock at the door, the three of them stood up, "Hi mum."

"Hi sweety. Jay," Bunny nodded in Jays direction the looked at Hank, "Hank."

"Bunny." Hank scoffed.

"So I'm assuming Erin has talked to you too about everything?" Bunny asked looking at Jay and Hank.

"Bunny you need to tell us what the feds told you, we also need to know who your mixed up in and if he's holding anything over you." Hank said.

"I'm not mixed up in anything." Bunny shook her head.

"Mum save it," Erin shot up, "Look your granddaughter is in the room next to us, do you want to meet her?" Bunny nodded quickly, "Then tell him what he needs to know to fix this and keep you out of prison."

Jay looked at Erin shocked, he didn't exactly want her to use their daughter as a bargaining chip but if it made Bunny talk then so be it, "Fine."

Hank looked at her waiting for information, which he got. The reason she was staying with him because she found out about the drugs he stole and started selling and he was threatening her. Also he felt like he'd supported her so once again he wanted money if she was going to leave him. How did Bunny always get herself in these situations.

"So now what Hank?" Erin said looking towards Hank.

"I will contact the feds and Bunny needs to tell them everything, be a cooperative witness."

"He'll kill me!" Bunny shouted.

"You will be protected. Bunny you have two choices, go to jail or trust me?" Hank shrugged.

"Fine," Bunny agreed, "Now can I meet my granddaughter?"

"Come on then." Erin said getting up, Jay followed suite even though he was still against her being in their lives, especially Lily.

Erin and Jay walked into the break room, Bunny following close behind, Erin picked Lily up and thanked Kim who left them alone.

"Hey baby girl, I have someone I want you to meet. This is your grandmother." Erin said bouncing Lily on her hip, Jay stood back and watched.

"Hi." Lily said shyly.

"Erin she's beautiful, she's a spitting image of the both of you." Bunny smiled, so did Jay. It was one of the first nice things she had said about Jay.

"Do you wanna go say hi Lil?" Erin said, her daughter nervously nodded but went to Bunny.

"Hi Lily. It's so great to meet you." Bunny smiled, giving Lily a tight squeezey hug.

Erin looked at Bunny who was in the perfect bubble, "Mum?" Bunny looked up, "Please can you just do the right thing for once? That's all I ask."

"I will try Erin, really I will."

"Bunny this is your last chance. I don't want to step on Erin's toes but Lily is my daughter too and I'm only saying this because I need to protect her but if you don't try and fix this or once this is fixed you put yourself back in a situation that puts you and others in jeopardy you will not be in your daughters or your granddaughters life." Jay piped up.

"Jay you have my word, I won't ever let anything happen to your daughter," Bunny paused, "And mine."

Erin smiled faintly, as much as she wanted to believe Bunny she didn't. It always went around in a circle, but maybe this was a chance for her to fix her mistakes. Time will tell she thought.

"Daddy?" Lily said stretching her arms out for Jay, who swept her up graciously.

"Erin I'm so proud of you." Bunny said squeezing Erin's hand.

"Thanks mum but Jays right. This is your last chance."
