Loki was a trickster of Asgard, but he was born on Jotunheim. When he learned of his heritage, he did everything in his power to conquer and become king. He made a deal with a Titan named Thanos. In exchange for an army and the Earth to rule, he would bring him a cosmic relic called the Tesseract. He would have succeeded too if not for the interference of the Avengers.

Their meddling not only got him arrested, but his army was destroyed and the Tesseract was confiscated. Loki was taken to Asgard to face justice… or at least, that was the plan.

For reasons unknown to Loki, strange events happened around him as he was being escorted out of Stark Tower. Tony's arc reactor started to fail and the suitcase containing the Tesseract suddenly slid across the floor as if it was kicked. Loki was the only one to notice, but he couldn't say anything with a metal clamp covering his mouth. When the Hulk arrived and accidently knocked the cube to Loki's feet, he took advantage of the chaos and picked it up. Before anyone could notice, he opened up a blue portal and disappeared into thin air.

When the portal closed behind Loki, he was surprised by his new surrounding. It was a dark hallway with marble walls along the side. There was a fancy carpet covering the floor. There were also suits of armor put on pedestals every fifteen feet.

"Don't know what this place is." Loki thought to himself. "I focused the cube to take me wherever. I didn't secure a fixed location. Now, I can't go back to Midgard or I'll be arrested. The same can be said for most of the other realms. And I can't go back to Thanos. He'll never forgive my failure. I'll just use the cube to…"

"Excuse me."

Loki turned to the strange, high-pitched voice behind him. He stopped when he saw a large, obese figure with a snake-like tail. With a better look, Loki noticed the buck teeth, the white fur with a brown stripe, and black, shiny eyes.

"Is that… a giant hamster?" Loki asked himself. "What sort of trickery is this?"

"You're intruding in my lord's home." The hamster said. "Surrender, or suffer, you will."

"I don't have time for this nonsense."

Loki turned to hold up the Tesseract. A blue, cloudy portal opened up in front of him. He was prepared to sprint through.

"Oh, no, you don't!" the hamster shouted. Her tail snapped right in front of Loki that knocked the cube out of Loki's hands.

Loki panicked as he saw the Tesseract bounced off the floor and fell through the portal. Loki jumped toward the portal, but it closed immediately before he could even touch its mist.

"No! This can't be!"

"Good night."

The hamster stung her tail again and it struck Loki in the back of his head. He passed out immediately.

When he came to, Loki found himself in a powerful-looking room. He couldn't see the ceiling on top of the rows of pillars. He looked around and saw several strange-looking characters, including a large, metal insectoid, a pale vampire girl in a dark-red dress, two dark elves with different clothes, a tall demon in an orange suit, the giant hamster, a group of different girls in maid uniforms, a horned woman with a white dress, and, most of all, a large skeleton in heavy robes sitting at the throne in front of Loki's kneeling self. The trickster was petrified as he felt a powerful presence coming from the lich. He compared that power to that of Thanos.

"Where did you say you found him, Hamsuke?" the skeleton asked.

"Found him in the second-floor hallway, I did, Lord Ainz." The hamster said. "He had a glowing cube, but lost it, he did."

"Aura, how would you rate this man?" the skeleton called Ainz asked.

"He's pretty strong for a human." The female elf said. "In fact, the more I observe, I don't think he's human at all. He just looks that way."

"I see." Ainz said. "Demiurge, can you remove that cover from his face?"

"A simple process, my lord." The demon in the suit said. He approached Loki and grabbed onto the metal clamp. With one tug, it was ripped off Loki's face. Loki held onto his breath the whole time and relieved himself to take a deep one. He manage to speak again.

"Do you have any idea what it's like with that on?"

"Silence!" the woman in white commanded. "You are in the presence of our great lord. You will show proper respect!"

"At ease, Albedo." Ainz said. He then turned to the intruder. "First off, I'd like to introduce myself. I am Ainz Ooal Gown. Now, I'd like to know how you were able to infiltrate the Great Tomb of Nazarick."

"Would you believe me if I said I don't know what that is?" Loki asked. "I just took the Tesseract and found myself here."

"The Tesseract? I assume you're talking about that cube my pet saw you with. Who are you?"

"My name is Loki, of Asgard."

"Loki? Asgard?" Ainz thought in his head. "Those are Norse myths where Yggdrasil originated from. But this guy can't be the actual myth, could he?" He then spoke. "What is your purpose here, Loki of Asgard?"

"Like I said, this is clearly a mistake." Loki said.

"Perhaps you're right. Then again, perhaps not. I recommend you tell me the truth. And believe me, I'll know if you're lying." He then thought to himself, "I can't really tell, though. Hopefully, he doesn't call my bluff."

Loki took a deep breath. "All right. I was born on Jotunheim, but abducted by Odin, the king of Asgard. When I found out, I attempted to gain power any way I can, including gaining control of a powerful relic called the Tesseract. But my efforts were thwarted by my enemies. Thankfully, opportunity presented itself and I was able to escape with the Tesseract, but that's when I ran into your giant rodent. Now, I'm trapped in a world that I don't believe has any connection to the Nine Realms and the cube itself is stranded out into the wilderness somewhere."

Ainz rubbed his bony chin. "I have heard tales of Loki and Asgard. Apparently, it's said to be home of gods. You're telling me you're that powerful?"

"In technical terms, I am not really a god. We live and die like any other human… give or take a few thousand years."

"My lord, if I may," Demiurge said, "I believe what this man is saying is true. I expected him to come up with some measely excuse like 'I stumbled upon this place by accident' or 'I heard there was a new dungeon full of treasure'. For this Loki to come in and make such pretentious-sounding claims seems unbelievable on its own."

"I see your point, Demiurge." Ainz said. "No ordinary liar would come up with such obvious falsehoods. I'm not saying we should drop our guard around this man, but he at least deserves a fair trial."

"And how do I do that?" Loki asked.

"First off, you will explain to me everything you know about the Tesseract and what it's capable of."

"Okay. The Tesseract is also called the Infinity Stone of Space. It's called that because it's capable of opening portals to anywhere you can imagine, whether it's either a few feet or another universe. There are no limits."

"Interesting." Demiurge commented. "This might be useful for us."

"Why would you need it?" Loki asked.

"If your story is true, Loki, then you're in a similar situation as us." Demiurge said. "We're also from another world trapped in this new one. We have no idea how we got here, but we're making use of our time here. But if this Tesseract can bring us anywhere we desire, maybe we can return to our own world."

"Really?" the other elf asked. "That's great."

"It's great, all right." Ainz thought in his head. "That's good thinking. But I can't get overexcited about it. That might embarrass me in front of the new guy." He spoke. "A good thought, Demiurge."

"I'm not surprised you think so, Lord Ainz." Demiurge said. "I'm sure you came up with that idea before I did."

"Uh… Of course." Ainz said.

"Lord Ainz," Albedo said. "What do we do with Loki?"

"Good question." Ainz said. "First of all, Loki, I must ask out of courtesy. First, take a look at the vampire beside you." Loki turned to the crowd to see the pale girl in the red dress. "Have you ever encountered her before?"

"Of course not." Loki said. "Like I said, I've only been in this world for a few minutes. Why?"

"A short while ago, Shalltear here was ambushed and brainwashed to be turned against us. We amended it, but the culprits behind it are still out there. I am merely covering my bases. Now, as for you. Demiurge."

"My lord?"

"I will trust your judgement on this matter. I leave his fate to you. Consider him at your disposal until further notice."

"Understood, Lord Ainz."

"You can't be serious." Loki said. "You expect me to follow the orders of this… I don't even know what he is."

"You'd do well to follow my orders to the letter, Loki." Demiurge warned. "Things could get messy if you don't."

"All right." Ainz Ooal Gown said. "Loki, you will spend the night in a guest bedroom. I'll have the Pleiades attend to you in the mor…" Suddenly, a sound rang in his ears. "Hold on a minute." He pressed the side of his head. "…Solution? I didn't expect you to call. Is there some kind of emergency? …What? Sebas? How? That's not a joking matter, Solution. Do you have any evidence of this claim? …I see. I'll be there tomorrow to sort it out." He ended his call and turned back to everyone. "We may have a situation."

Author's Note: This is the second part of my Isekai Quartet X series. It took a lot of suggestions, most of which had more downsides than upsides. But I'm proud of this decision. I hope you're all as proud as I am. Any and all comments are welcome.
