Author's Note: Before you read this, I just want to clarify something. I've had a couple of comments asking if I've made Loki weak here. I didn't. At this point, he was already exhausted. If you recall, this is the MCU Loki after the Battle for New York. He was beaten, blown up, and thrown around by the Hulk. Not to mention, this is the alternate version of Loki that escaped with the Tesseract in Avengers Endgame. This fanfic is like an alternate version of the Loki show on Disney+, and if you recall, he got humbled there too. So, no. I didn't make Loki weak. If you ask me, I made his situation accurate. Just wanted to say that. Anyway, back to this story that everyone's been waiting for. Any and all comments are welcome.

Anyway, enjoy the story after a year of not updating. Sorry about that. Any and all comments are welcome.

After some restless sleep, Loki woke up in his new accommodations. The bedroom he slept in was moderate, but still fancy for a guest bedroom. He emerged from his sheets and stood.

"Okay. Just need to assess the situation." He said out. "I lost the Chitauri. I lost Midgard. And now, I've lost the Tesseract and I'm currently a hostage by some skeleton wizard. As soon as I am able, I need to get out of here, find the Tesseract, and escape this wretched world."

"You probably shouldn't say that out loud, sir." A woman said. Loki turned to see a bespectacled woman in a maid's outfit. She also had a golden choke collar around her neck.

"Who are you?" Loki asked.

"Yuri Alpha. I'm the leader of the combat maids, the Pleiades."

"Combat maids?" Loki asked. "Is this a joke of some kind?"

"I assure you, sir, we are all crafted perfectly by the Supreme Beings." Yuri replied.

"Who are these Supreme Beings anyway?" Loki asked.

"The original rulers of Nazarick and our creators." Yuri explained. "They lead the guild of Ainz Ooal Gown to pure power the likes of which none have even imagines."

"And where are these Supreme Beings anyway?" Loki asked clearly skeptical.

"No one knows." Yuri said. "Most of them have left without any indication where they've gone. Only Lord Ainz remains and he has assured us that he'd stay."

Loki rolled his eyes. "Look, what are you even here for?"

"Right. Forgive me." Yuri said. "Lord Demiurge sent me to prep you up. He wants a meeting with you."

"And if I refuse?" Loki asked.

"Then you'll likely be sent to the dungeons at the mercy of Kyouhukou and his insects." Yuri replied. "I hear it's quite a nightmare."

Loki exasperated quietly before gritting his teeth. "Fine."

As soon as he was back in his Asgardian leather, Yuri guided Loki out of his bedroom and guided him throughout the walls of Nazarick. The trickster's eyes gazed at the rooms they passed, including a mess hall where other girls in maid outfits sat and ate. A few of them noticed Loki and smiled. One wild-looking girl with red hair even winked at him.

In only a matter of minutes, Yuri and Loki stopped when the Floor Guardian they were looking for stood before them.

"Thank you, Alpha." Demiurge said. "I'll take it from here."

"Of course, Lord Demiurge." Yuri said before walking away.

"What do you even want from me?" Loki asked.

"Lord Ainz believes you can be a valuable ally." Demiurge said. "I'm just here to see if you can be trusted." He opened up a door next to them and it revealed an office with shelves filled with old relics.

"Trust is for children and dogs." Loki said following the Floor Guardian into the office.

"That's not helping your case, you know." Demiurge said. "Let's start with some basic questions. What is your ultimate goal?"

"To rule." Loki answered. "Everyone wants to rule."

"Yes, I know." Demiurge said. "In fact, a while ago, Lord Ainz himself told me he thinks it'd be nice to conquer the world."

"And you're just going to blindly follow him?" Loki asked. "Why do you even serve him?"

"Because he has wisdom and logic the likes of which I will always respect. But enough about me. Let's get back to you. Why do you wish to rule?"

Loki rolled his eyes again before answering. "These underlings, they were made to be ruled. It is their only salvation."

"Salvation from what?"

"Freedom. The first and most oppressive lie ever uttered was the song of freedom. For nearly every living thing, choice breeds shame and uncertainty and regret. There's a fork in every road, yet the wrong path always taken. Someone needs to take the reigns."

"And you think it should be you?"

"Of course. I was born to be king. I'm the only one who sees things clearly."

"And what do you see when you look at the Great Tomb of Nazarick?"

Loki chuckled gazing around the room. "Well, your Supreme Beings have built quite a circus. And I see the clowns are playing their parts to perfection."

"You like your metaphors, don't you?" Demiurge asked. "I bet it makes you feel so smart."

"I am smart."

"I believe you."

"Okay."

"Okay. Well, Loki, for now, I am in charge of your fate. Lord Ainz appointed me to test you. So hypothetically, what would you say if I decided to end your life?"

"Well, I'd certainly like to see you try." Loki said. "If I wanted to, I could slit your throat, change my appearance to look like you, and just stroll out of this place."

"And yet, you didn't. Why?"

Loki paused for a second trying to say something. He stopped himself and chuckled softly. "All right. I admit this place has quite a bit of power. Back at my world, I met a Titan who could rival your Lord Ainz in power. I complied to him too in exchange for him getting me my own kingdom to rule. So I'd be lying if I said I wasn't at all curious about the power in this place."

"So if Lord Ainz gave you your own domain, you'd be loyal?" Demiurge asked.

"I may be the God of Mischief, but I am also a fair man." Loki said.

Demiurge rubbed his chin with his gloved hands. "Now, you're starting to win me over. But before I decide anything, we're going to need to test you."

"Test me?" Loki asked. "On what?"

"On whether or not you can cooperate." Demiurge said. "Right now, I'm on the fence. You see, Lord Ainz values loyalty from his servants rather than fear. I believe you're unpredictably fickle, but I do know you do what's best for you. We need to test how far your loyalty goes."

"And how do you propose to do that?"

Demiurge gave a mischievous grin. "Well, as it so happens, I may have an idea that will not only test your loyalty, but will also benefit the Great Tomb of Nazarick a great deal."

"And how can this possibly test my loyalty?" Loki asked.

"Because in this instance," Demiurge replied, "I'll be giving you control of the whole situation. You see, I originally planned to stage an invasion at the Kingdom of Re-Estize and lead the charge myself under a pseudonym. But the more I think about it, I think it's best to leave it to you."

"You want me to lead the attack on a kingdom?" Loki asked. "How does that test me?"

"Well, I can't just tell you. That would demean the test." Demiurge said. "But if you pass, I will give Lord Ainz my recommendation to keep you alive. And knowing him, he will grant you your own domain to rule over."

Loki was still skeptical over it all, but the promise of being a king did please him. He smiled. "When do we start?"
