It had been two days later and with the rest and anti nausea tablets Erin felt somewhat herself. Jay was still worried and followed her around like a lost puppy just to make sure she was taking her meds, resting and getting food and water down.
The morning of their follow up appointment Jay found Erin weighing herself in their bathroom, he leant up against the door frame and waited until she noticed him, "Well you will be happy to know I think the anti nausea tablets are working."
"And you not happy?" Jay said confused.
She smiled up at him as she stepped off, "More then happy but this is the time I start getting all depressed as I turn into a whale."
"Oh but a beautiful whale you forgot to add," Erin frowned and punched his shoulder, "Hey!"
"I just hope I don't have to take these tablets forever you know how much I hate taking tablets."
Jay pulled her into his arms and nestled his chin on top of her head, "But if they make you feel better and help with everything I guess you just have to keep it up. Gotta keep you and this baby healthy."
"It's easy for you to say Jay your not the one going through all of this."
"And I wish I could experience it just to feel your pain and be there for you but..."
"But you can't. I know but Jay you are being really great. You always have been really great. I wouldn't want to do this with anyone else you know."
"You getting all emotional on me Mrs Halstead?"
She pulled back and rolled her eyes, "Way to wreck a nice moment."
"Hey you know I love you." He pulled her back in giving her a kiss.
"Mmhm." She nodded into the kiss as it started to deepen, without having constant morning sickness she could finally start enjoying Jay again. Quickly Erin started unbuckling Jays belt and pulling at his shirt.
"How long do we have?"
"Uh ten minutes." He said in between kissing her as he looked at his watch and pulling her onto the bathroom counter as he shut the door with his foot.
"And Lily?"
"Occupied watching Pepper Pig in her playroom," Jay said stripping her from her shirt and kissing along her neck.
"Jay..."
"Erin stop talking, I've missed you." Jay said trying to push out all his thoughts and worries and soak this time up with Erin.
Just as Jay was about to strip Erin of her pants they heard light footsteps approaching and he quickly pulled away readjusting himself as Erin slid down from the bathroom counter.
"Mummy I want some juice." Lily said innocently.
Erin and Jay chuckled, getting nearly caught by an almost two year old was like getting caught out as a teenager, "Sure thing sweetheart. Come on."
As Erin picked Lily up she looked to Jay, "They have impeccable timing don't they."
Jay sighed, "Biggest C.O.C.K block ever."
Later that day Erin was the only one in the bullpen, she heard someone coming up the steps, once she noticed who it was she smiled, "Hey baby mama."
"Hey." Kim said trying to catch her breath.
Erin rolled a chair over to her, "Here."
"Thanks. God I'm beyond ready to get this baby out. I'd do anything."
Erin chuckled, "Try sex."
Kim shot her a shocked look, "Huh?"
"I mean I hear it works. I couldn't test it out for myself because well...You know Jay and I were definitely not in that place when I was nearly due but I hear it helps bring on the baby. But then again you do have a couple more weeks maybe it only works when your overdue." Erin shrugged.
"God I can barely even deal with Adam kissing me."
"Oh really?"
"Yeah so I don't exactly know if that will happen, my sex drive went away about a month again. Anyways we don't really need to talk about our sex life do we."
Erin laughed, "Guess not. But trust me get it while you can, having a two year old really makes it tough to get some."
Kim chuckled, "Oh."
"Yeah I don't think Jay can handle anymore cold showers in his lifetime."
"Poor guy."
"I mean first it was the crazy morning sickness which has gotten a lot better so things were put to a stop then but I swear every time we get a chance it gets put to a halting stop." Erin shrugged.
"How about we look after Lily tonight? Sleepover with Uncle Adam and Aunty Kim?" Kim suggested.
"Really?"
"Would be good practice."
"That would be so great, if tonight works for you? We are telling Will we are having another baby at dinner so then..."
"Say no more. It's done." Kim smiled.
"Lifesaver Kim, I owe you."
"I will be holding you too that."
Erin smiled and then heard the rest of the team coming back up, "What do we got?"
"We have an appointment with the obstetrician." Jay said stepping in front of Erin as she watched Hank make his way to the board.
"Jay."
"Come on, you can be filled in when we get back."
"Agh. Fine. By the way, you will be happy. Kim offered to take Lily tonight for a sleepover." She said raising her eyebrow seductively.
"Praise the lord. Wait does Adam know?" Jay asked.
"I bet she's telling him now, she said she wants practise for when their baby comes, come on Jay we both need attention, these hormones are something else." She said as she slowly traced her fingers down his chest.
Jay cleared his throat uncomfortably, "Let's go. Be back soon sarge."
"So Erin how are you feeling?" Dr Proudman asked.
"Much better doc. The morning sickness is getting much better and I can actually keep more then a few crackers down."
The doctor smiled then looked towards Jay, he smiled and nodded, "I can confirm she has gotten a lot better since she started taking the anti nausea tablets. But we do want to know how long is she going to have to take them for?"
"Hopefully only for a couple more weeks, then you can stop and if the morning sickness starts getting bad again we will reassess but it should stop. You still are measuring quite small and your weight gain is on the lower side but it has only been a couple days since and you are eating better again so that should all be fine. Also your much more hydrated then a couple days ago so that's a good sign too."
"The tablets really did help and I done my very best so this baby could be healthy."
Dr Proudman smiled, "So are we ready to see your baby again? We usually don't have an ultrasound straight after a recent one but it's better to check that everything's still alright and maybe if you guys want we can check to see if a baby Halstead is a boy or girl?"
Erin looked at Jay and shrugged, "It's up to you babe."
"Jay..."
"No seriously, I can wait if you want it to be a surprise." He squeezed her hand.
"No I think I want to know, Lily was a surprise and that was great but it wouldn't hurt to be a little more organised this time." Erin chuckled.
"Okay then, Erin let's get you up and we will see if little one is going to play the game today."
Erin got up on the examination bed and pulled her shirt up, Jays eyes once again lit up like a Christmas tree once he saw their baby moving around on the monitor, "I will never get over how amazing this is."
"Okay little one is still healthy, strong heartbeat."
"Don't leave us in suspense doc." Jay said as Erin chuckled at his eagerness.
"Congratulations you two are having a baby boy," The doctor smiled, "I will give you two a moment."
Erin smiled as she sat up giving Jay a hug, "Your happy?"
"Babe I'm so happy."
"He's going to be a mini you I can just see it now." Erin smiled.
"God help us, one of you and one of me, we are going to have our hands full." She chuckled.
"I wouldn't have it any other way."
They returned back to work with big smiles on their faces, "Everything all good with baby H?"
"He is perfect."
"He?" Everyone said together with smiles on their faces.
"It's a boy!" They both said excitedly.
Everyone congratulated them, then Erin walked to where Hank was, "So a mini Halstead huh?"
"Yep."
"Hopefully his isn't as stubborn as his father."
Erin chuckled, "Don't try act tough on me now Hank, I know you have a soft spot for Jay."
Hank grunted, "Maybe."
