Jay and Erin sat at Molly's waiting for Will. Erin watched Jay nursing his beer and chuckled, he turned to her confused, "What?"

"If I asked you not to drink until the baby came do you reckon you could handle it?"

Jays face dropped causing Erin to chuckle even more, "I'm completely kidding as if I would ever ask you to do that, just wanted to see the look on your face."

"I'm not saying I would hate every minute of it but..." Jay was lost for words, he had no idea what to say.

"Not saying your an alcoholic Halstead, I know what it's like after working long hours on a tough case, all you want to do is come home and down a nice cold beer." She smiled.

"I think I could do it for you though, I'd do anything for you."

"I know." She smiled and grabbed Jays hand from across the table.

Will approached them, "Evening love birds."

"Hey Will." Erin said standing up to give him a hug.

"Hey bro." Jay said coming around to give him a brotherly hug.

"Haven't seen you's in a while, how's my niece?"

"How are we? Oh we are great, busy, works great you know same old same old, oh how's Lily?" Erin chuckled at Jay being sarcastic to his older brother.

"Sorry I just miss her." Will shrugged.

"She's great Will." Erin confirmed.

"Good. So what are we doing out tonight? Special occasion?"

"What can't we just invite you out because we want to spend some quality time with you?" Jay said like a smartass.

"Can't trick me brother." Will smirked.

"We have some news," Erin said, gaining Wills attention, "I'm pregnant."

Will shared a look with his smiling brother and looked back at Erin with a huge grin bringing her in for another hug, "That's the best news ever, congrats guys."

"Thanks man, another exciting part to that news is baby H is a boy." Jay said.

"God your going to have your hands full if he's anything like his father Erin."

Erin chuckled, "If I can handle Jay I can handle anything."

Jay raised his arms up trying to defend himself, "Hey I'm not that bad."

"Nah your okay, I have trained you well house husband." Erin shrugged.

Will chuckled, "Well I'm going to get some shots, obviously not for you Erin, lime soda?"

"That would be great, thanks Will."

"Wow."

"Your not wrong, wow." Jay said as stood up from the bed.

"Where you going?" Erin questioned.

"Shower." He pointed towards their ensuite.

Erin raised an eyebrow, "Can I join or is it a solo type of situation that actually involves soap.

"I'm just taking a breather." Jay smirked.

"So your not done then?"

He leant down to kiss her, "Nowhere near done, promise." She smiled back at him.

"Better not be, these hormones of mine need to be taken care of."

"So that's all I'm good for now?"

Erin shrugged, "You can do other things but at the moment that's all I want."

"Okay well just give me a sec."

"I will be waiting." She chuckled as she watched Jay walk off.

She had been laying down waiting for Jay to finish his shower for a couple minutes when her phone started going off, it was Adam.

"Hey Adam, what's up? Is Lily okay?"

"She's fine, Kim's gone into labour and she's freaking out. I mean I'm probably freaking out more then her but we thought it's probably best you come get Lil while I take Kim to the hospital."

"Be there soon Adam."

Erin shot up out of bed and barged through the door causing Jay to jump, "Jesus Erin."

"Gotta go, Kim's in labour."

Jay stoped the shower quickly, "Ah shit. Okay I'm getting out."

"So much for having a whole night to ourselves huh."

"Guess if it's not our kid it's someone else's," Jay chuckled as he dried himself off, "We did get a little alone time though."

"I suppose so."

"Don't sound so disappointed Er."

"I don't mean to I just miss my husband."

"And I miss you aswell. On that note we really should get going I can just imagine Adam right now, he will be freaking out." Jay chuckled.

Erin and Jay raced up the steps to Adam and Kim's apartment, they knocked and Adam yelled for them to come in.

They stepped inside and were greeted quickly by their daughter, "Hey Lil bear your up late."

"Sorry she was down but then..." Adam tried explaining then was cut off by Kim yelling for him.

"Adam I will go see her, you stay here. How far apart are her contractions?" Erin asked.

"Seven minutes, her water broke just before I called you guys."

"She should still have a while but I can't really say I believe that because I gave birth in Jays car in the middle of traffic." Erin laughed as she walked off.

She lightly tapped on the bedroom door as she poked her head in, "How's it going Mumma?"

"Labour sucks. I mean really sucks." Kim said coming down from her contraction.

"I second that."

"Sorry that we wrecked your night." Kim apologised.

"Kim the last thing you need to do is apologise, your in labour. But anyway the whole night wasn't completed ruined."

"So Jays done with the cold showers then?" Kim laughed.

"For now." She smirked.

"I was thinking if you want I can stay with you? Help Adam out? I know how annoying he can get." Erin joked.

"Thanks Erin I'd love that."

"Okay give me a sec to say good to Lil and Jay."

"Thanks again Erin." Kim smiled.

Erin joined Adam and Jay in the lounge room and Erin smiled when she saw a passed out Lily in his arms sucking her thumb, "She fell asleep as soon as I picked her up."

Erin pointed to her daughter, "She must be exhausted, only sucks her thumb when she is."

Jay tried not to chuckle, "We should get her home."

"I'm going to stay babe but you go, get her in bed."

Jay smiled and stepped forward to kiss her a kiss, "Thought you would."

"Love you, I will call you when we are at the hospital and shes close."

"No worries," Jay turned to Adam, "Good luck bro, my advise, be there for every minute and just keep telling her you love her and that she's strong, even if she wants you out of the room and blames you for it. Love you babe."

"Thanks man," Adam said side hugging Jay, "I hope I'm atleast half the father you are, she's lucky to have you."

Six more hours into the early hours of the morning at home and then a couple more hours in the hospital and finally Kim gave birth to a beautiful 8.2 pound baby boy, Lucas Adam Ruzek.

The team waited a few hours before they greeted the newest member and of course everyone was in absolute awe of the new arrival.

Everyone left after an hour or so but Erin stayed back for just a little bit longer, she was holding Lucas while Kim slept and Adam went out to get a coffee and have a shower. There was a light tap on the door and some familiar green eyes emerged, "Hey there."

"Hey." Erin said quietly as she rocked back and fourth.

"You have a natural talent for the whole baby thing now you know." Jay said kissing her forehead.

"He's so beautiful, I can't wait until this one comes."

Jay wrapped his arms around her waist and sat his hand on her stomach, "Me either."

Adam walked in and saw the two of them with his son, "This woman of yours was spectacular, if you ever want to give up being a cop Lindsay I think you'd be good at the whole midwife thing."

"I think I will just stick with the cop thing for now," Erin smiled then gentle handed Adam his son, "I think I'm going to go home now and sleep."

"Thanks again Erin, seriously you were a massive help." Adam smiled.

"Don't mention it." Erin shrugged it off, she was just honoured that she got to help her friend bring their child into the world. She knew the feeling of it but actually seeing it from another perspective was something she will never forget.

They got home and it was not long past lunch. Thankfully Hank gave them both the day off and they didn't need to pick Lily up for a couple more hours so Erin was definitely taking the opportunity for a nap.

"Want anything to eat babe?" Jay questioned as he walked off to the kitchen.

"Mac and cheese?"

"Coming right up."

As much as Erin wanted to stay awake she's been up for a long time listening to a screaming Kim in labour so the quietness was making her super drowsy, it didn't take her long to fall asleep.

Jay walked into the living room about half hour later but chuckled once he saw a passed out Erin, he sat the bowl down and lifted the blanket up over her body.

She shifted and woke up, "Food?"

Jay chuckled, "You literally have the nose of a sniffer dog."

"So hungry." She said groggily as she sat up, reaching her hands out for the bowl.

"Well eat this and then go up to bed, I will pick Lily up and keep her occupied for the afternoon."

She smiled, "The perfect house husband."

"Someone has to be," He shrugged, "I love you."

"I love you too Jay."
