"Lumine, stop eating all of the pot stickers."

"Oh, that's rich coming from the guy eating all of the finger sandwiches." Said girl huffed in defiance and shoved another pot sticker into her mouth out of spite.

Aether scrunched his nose up as he looked at both trays of food. They were almost clear- save for a few more bites and some crumbs- and they had been overly stacked when the twins had arrived almost a good fifteen minutes prior. They had been mindlessly eating while scanning the crowd for their target but it seemed as though the man was running late.

"I'm surprised we're not fat with how much we eat," Aether spoke, sighing as he popped another small sandwich into his mouth.

"High metabolism bay-bee~" Emphasizing 'baby,' Lumine grinned widely and took a sip of the champagne in the small glass in her hand. "Really, though, I thought they'd come around to refill these trays by now."

"It is a relatively big party, so I guess they just think no one will eat all the food as fast as we have been." Aether laughed a little, Lumine letting out a giggle herself.

The two continued to chat idly until Lumine's eyes shone bright as she glanced behind her brother. "Target spotted." Aether turned around and both twins stared at the ginger-haired male as he interacted with some other people from the party. "I saw him first, I get first dibs!" She spoke up and ran off before Aether even had a chance to say anything.

Aether picked up another finger sandwich and watched his sister's movements. She approached Childe and tapped his shoulder. The target turned around to face her and smiled politely, but Aether knew that it wasn't a genuine smile. In his line of work, it became easy to spot what was real and what was fake. He observed as they talked, seeing how his sister would reach her hands over to lightly touch him- his hands, his arms. She leaned in close to him, hugging his arm while trying to put emphasis on her slightly revealing chest. The dress she wore was a beautiful light blue color that dipped down low to expose a good bit of her cleavage. The push up bra she wore helped to make them seem bigger and soft to the touch. It was the normal routine, one that worked countless times before and had men at her feet in no time. However, nothing she said or did seemed to stick and not long after she had approached him, Childe had walked away from her.

Lumine walked back over to her brother and huffed, angrily shoving three pot stickers into her mouth in frustration. "Why didn't it work?" She complained with half chewed food in her mouth. "That always works!"

Aether could only snort at her reaction. Lumine wasn't always like this, but sometimes when things didn't go her way, she would pout like a child who was refused a toy they really wanted. "Maybe your breath smelled too much like those pot stickers." He nudged her arm in a joking fashion, which made the corners of her lips curl and her eyes roll.

"Yeah? I'd like to see you do better." She challenged.

Aether only raised an eyebrow. "You're on. The loser has to buy the other an ice cream sundae."

"If you can get his full attention, I will buy you an ice cream sundae everyday for a month." Lumine crossed her arms. She firmly believed that Aether would not succeed, considering she didn't even get a second glance.

"I'll hold you to that," he smirked, scouring the crowd for where their target had gone. Upon finding him, Aether made his way towards the man, weaving through the sea of people. He sauntered up to the bar, taking a seat on the vacant stool beside Childe. "It's pretty packed, huh?" He asked, attempting at small talk.

Childe said nothing in response. From anyone else's perspective, it would seem that the man just didn't hear him. But as Aether observed his face, he could tell that he was being ignored.

Not looking good, he thought, glancing over in Lumine's direction where he caught her smirking at him.

Aether's competitive streak fueling him, he took a deep breath and then cleared his throat. He reached over, gently placing his soft, feminine looking hand on Childe's arm. The dark purplish-blue nail polish with star constellation designs was a stark contrast to the white suit that the ginger-haired male wore. "Could I get you something to drink?" He offered in a smooth and sultry voice.

Childe turned, fully prepared to tell this woman to back off and leave him alone, but stopped abruptly. Her golden hair was tied up in a braided updo, slightly messy with a few strands gracing her face. Her eyes were like liquid gold, holding a playfulness to them that was incredibly inviting. Her cupid's bow lips were painted a light, glossy pink and were curled into a sweet smile. Glancing down, Childe noticed how her dark brown dress hugged her body- one shoulder was bare while the other was covered with a long sleeve. There was an opening in the middle of the dress in the shape of a large diamond that exposed her midriff and belly button ring with a dangling star charm. Lower down, both sides of the long dress were split open at her thighs, revealing her slender legs. He watched her cross one over the other and heard her snap her fingers. Childe blinked a few times before clearing his throat. "Huh?" Wow, talk about uncool. He said to himself inwardly.

Aether smirked. "Like what you see?"

"Yes," the reply was instant, which made the blond raise an eyebrow. "Which is surprising since I'm not into women."

"Not into women?" The blond repeated, tilting his head to the side. That would definitely explain why Lumine's charms didn't work. "Well then, I guess I'm in luck~"

"In luck?" Childe furrowed his eyebrows in confusion and gave Aether another once over. He then noticed the hand on his arm was feminine, yes, however it was a tad bit more… Veiny than any woman's he's seen. Glancing at the chest area, there were no indications of bumps where breasts should be. And if he really looked in the neck area, he could faintly make out the shape of an adam's apple. "Well, you're definitely the most beautiful feminine-looking man I've ever seen," he complimented. "Ever." He thought to add.

Aether let out a little giggle. "Well, thank you! I'm flattered."

"Cosmopolitan?" The bartender asked, setting down two blue colored drinks in front of both Aether and Childe.

Aether glanced over towards Lumine who just gave him a thumbs up and blew him a kiss. "Yes, thank you," he told the bartender, offering a sweet smile.

"Let me know if there's anything else you need," he winked and offered a smirk before walking away to prepare more drinks.

"You're a charmer, aren't you?" Childe asked about the exchange he just witnessed. "It's not surprising, but damn, you can really get your way." He picked up the drink and took a small sip of it before swirling it around in the glass.

Aether picked up his own drink and downed the whole thing in one go, setting the empty glass down on the table gently. He licked his lips as he looked back at his target. "Just a little bit," he teased.

Childe stared at Aether for a moment, then looked at his empty glass, then back at him. He downed his own glass and then got up and held a hand out to the blond. "Care to dance?"

Aether placed his fingertips in the palm of Childe's hand. "I thought you'd never ask."

The two both made their way to the dance floor and stood in front of one another. Childe's right hand on Aether's lower back and Aether's left on Childe's shoulder while their free hands were linked together.

"So what do I call you, hot stuff?" Childe asked, a grin on his face. The two moved around the floor gracefully, in perfect sync with the music and each other.

"The name's Aether, but you can still call me 'hot stuff' if you want," a playful grin settled on his lips.

"Aether, huh? That's a really pretty name," Childe twirled the small boy around in a circle before holding him in the normal position once more. "Doesn't it translate to something about the sky?"

"I suppose it does, yes. 'Personification of the sky or upper air breathed by the Olympians,' or something like that with Greek stuff." Aether shrugged a little. "I didn't look too much into it myself, I just wanted a simple definition."

"Curiosity caught hold but you weren't curious enough to look into it fully? I can understand that." Childe nodded, holding Aether's thin body closer to his own. "Is that your real name or a nickname?"

Aether could only laugh. "I'd tell you, but you haven't even told me your own name yet."

"Oh, where are my manners?" Childe stopped dancing for a moment to lift Aether's hand up to his mouth, placing a soft kiss to his knuckles. "I go by Childe. It's a nickname, though maybe I'll tell you my real one if the night progresses on?" He winked suggestively.

"Hmm," Aether hummed, a look of amusement clear on his face as he gave it some thought. "How about he ditch this joint and go back to your place?" He suggested. "We can get better acquainted there~" he lightly dragged a finger under Childe's chin and backed away. He turned around, allowing the man to see how his dress exposed his back where a pair of small, cute wing tattoos sat on his shoulder blades. One was shown in its full detail while the other was mostly covered by the fabric of the dress. He took a couple of steps forward, swaying his hips, which gave notice to his voluptuous ass confined behind thin brown fabric. "Well? You coming?"
