Hello so I'm trying my hand at writing fic for an OC. This will be a pairing with one of the main characters. What this means is that there will be deviations from the original plot line way more than there is in an usual fic. Anyway I hope you like it. We'll see where it gets me. And yes I know Addison isn't here yet but she will be. Leave some comments and let me know what you think.
This chapter has spoilers from season 1 episode 7. Just an FYI.
A new intern has arrived at Seattle Grace Hospital. A very promising intern at that. Will she find love around the halls of this very steamy and drama filled hospital? Guess we'll find out. A Grey's Anatomy fic with a new ship. OCxAddison.

Chapter 1: Introductions
"Aelwyne Neirhem Ashenryver. Graduated top of your class at Harvard and began your internship at Mass Gen. Could you enlighten me?" Asked chief of surgery at Seattle Grace Hospital, Richard Webber.
"On what exactly sir?" Aelwyne replied looking slightly confused by the question. If he knew of her background then it shouldn't have been a problem. She had been top of the class. Hospitals had fought over getting her into their program. So why was he looking so suspicious. Then again why would she come all the way here if she had Mass Gen. 'He may have a point' she thought to herself.
"Mass Gen. You got in. Why would you change that and come here? I mean my hospital is one of the top teaching hospitals in the country. But you had Mass Gen." He replied motioning for her to reply.
"I grew up in Massachusetts. I wanted a change. I need a change." She replied simply. And it was true she had been stuck there her whole life. Watching over the family's estate and company. She just wanted to be a doctor, a surgeon. She wanted to be the best because maybe she'd feel she'd measured up to the standards of her family. Then again her family was dead so they would not be able to give any approval. She would never know if she met their expectations. Still she would be the very best.
"A change…" Richard eyed her and hum to himself.
He turned his attention to the application and all her paperwork. He smiled and rose from his chair. Walking around the desk he went up to her hand outstretched for a handshake. Aelwyne stood flattening her blouse before straightening up completely.
"Welcome to the program" he said with the brightest smile, as her hand met his. He looked satisfied and proud his program had drawn someone like her. If the recommendation letters were correct she was a fast learner and quick on her feet. She looked outside of the box. One of the letters stated she didn't even know there was a box. She was innovative but still looked at the basics. Actually humble but also driven.
"I will have you work with Dr. Miranda Bailey. She already has interns but I'm sure she can handle one more. Now you go to HR and get your parking pass, badge, key card and scrubs. Meet her at the pit I'll inform her of your arrival" he moved behind the desk again.
"Thank you sir. HR and then the pit for Dr. Bailey. Got it." She said collecting her things and giving him a gracious smile and nod.
She asked for directions to HR and was on her way.
"We got ourselves someone good. I like it." Said Richard to himself. "Now to tell Bailey" he continued nervously. Within reason because Miranda Bailey was a force to be reckoned with.
"Another child to work with and now in the middle of the internship! What is going through your mind?" The short woman made Dr. Webber looked tiny as she shouted and questioned. She was the Nazi after all.
"Miranda, I'm the chief of surgery. If I say jump you jump." He attempted to not look nervous as he spoke to her. " Besides I'm absolutely sure this intern is going to be amazing. Did you know she left Mass Gen to come here? She was going to be in one of the best hospitals. She'd be watched closely by the likes of Harper Avery. And she came here" he continued in a more confident tone. "She should be here any minute. Now go be the amazing teacher and doctor I know you to be." And with that he turned and left as quickly as possible without running.
Bailey stared after him obviously angry about the fact she'd have to look after another idiot.
"Hi, I'm looking for Dr. Bailey. Could you point her out? Is she here?" Someone said behind her and she turned.
"Dr. Bailey… oh she's right there" replied the nurse pointing at her.
Bailey walked toward the girl. If she had had an interest in women that way she would've fallen for her. The girl stood tall with long brown hair tied up in a ponytail and beautiful eyes. Her eyes were eyes you could not look away from. They were golden, not yellow or hazel, no, they were golden. The girl thanked the nurse and walked toward her and stretched her hand in greeting.
"Hello. My name is Aelwyne Neirhem. Dr Webber said I'd be learning under you. It's nice to meet you" she said with her hand still stretched.
"Yeah yeah. Nice to meet you too. And I hope you're ready for this. Now follow. " Bailey shook her hand reluctantly and turned walking out of the pit. She looked behind her to make sure her new idiot was following, which she was.
"Dr. Bailey about the guy that ate the keys. I have the scans here." Said a blonde girl that looked like she could be a model.
"Let me see those." Bailey replied, taking the images from her.
"Hi" she turned to Aelwyne. "Who are you?" She asked looking from her to Bailey.
"Oh that's my new idiot" Bailey replied as a matter of fact. "Neirhem, Stevens. Stevens, Neirhem" she said pointing at the girls respectively.
"Wow your eyes are amazing." Izzie said, looking at Aelwyne, who gave her a small smile and nod.
"Wait new idiot? You're an intern?" She asked.
"Yes I just transferred here. Seems like we'll be working together" Aelwyne replied.
"We are in the middle of term you can't just transfer." Izzie said now turning to Bailey as if she was owed an explanation.
"Why are you looking at me? Go help your patient so that his girlfriend can get her keys" Bailey replied.
"Wait, me? He needs a bronchoscopy." Izzie said, confused.
"See one. Do one. Teach one." Bailey said, starting to walk away. "You've already seen one so do one" She looked back at Aelwyne with a brow raised so Aelwyne followed suit.
"You paged" said another dirty blonde by way of greeting to Bailey as she walked up the stairs.
"Where are we?" She replied. The other intern told her about finishing the consult and post ops and a patient who had come in with abdominal pain. Bailey went off to tell her what she would be doing next.
"By the way this is Aelwyne Neirhem." She said pointing at her. "And this is Meredith Grey." she said, pointing at Grey.
"Hello, it seems we'll be working together from now on" Aelwyne said, trying to be friendly.
"Nice to meet you." Meredith said with a smile.
"Off you go" Bailey said, waving her off.
"Dr. Bailey what will we be doing? Is there any more scut work you need to be done?" Aelwyne asked cautiously.
"You want to do scut? You're not asking to scrub in or watch surgery. You want scut?" Bailey asked, squinting her eyes.
"Well you don't know me or how I work. So you don't trust me. Not that I intend you to. It is my first half a day. So I'll show you. Besides without scut we wouldn't know anything about the patients" Aelwyne replied respectfully.
Bailey eyed her surprised. She was used to her idiots who would go over each other for a chance at surgery. But this girl. She was definitely different. And she suspected that like Yang and Grey she'd be an amazing surgeon some day soon.
"Alright then." Bailey smiled.
Chapter 2 will be posted soon. Still not sure what the timeframe for updates will be so bear with me. Hope you enjoyed.
