Chapter 33
The New Mrs. Malfoy
Things had fallen into place as we entered the Great Hall for the reception to be greeted by everyone. There was time to talk now, to laugh and goof off.
"Congratulations, guys." Goyle said, elbowing Draco in the ribs with the arm that wasn't around Rose. "Glad to see you two finally got things to work in your favour."
My cousin Luke looked as if another one of his family members died. He was eyeing Draco with the same hatred I used to see in my brother when Draco was first made into a Death Eater.
A Death Eater. I'm related to a Death Eater. And not just any Death Eater…but Lucius Malfoy's son is my cousin in law! Luke thought.
I gave Luke a grin as Goyle wrapped an arm around me. "You look amazing, Ice Princess."
I grinned as Draco pulled me back. "Thanks, Goyle." I said, blushing.
"Appreciate the complement, but I'll thank you to keep your hands off Hannah." Draco told him.
Suddenly, a group of women came forward. "Draco!" the lead woman said, strawberry blonde hair left in curls as she embraced my husband.
Draco went suddenly cold, eyes suddenly like two stones. "Rosalynn." he almost snarled.
I almost shot back. This Draco terrified me. The Draco that looked like a rabid vampire, ready to attack and kill at any second.
"Draco, you know about how we defected with you during the battle!" the woman called Rosalynn giggled, blue eyes glinting in the candlelight.
"I didn't defect during the battle. I defected long beforehand." Draco snarled. "And I think I made security perfectly clear that I didn't want vampires near me or my wife."
Now I really was scared, clinging to Draco's blazer as I swore I saw the strawberry blond woman's eyes flash red.
"Now, Draco, had Lucius had his way one of us vampires would be in your wife's position." Rosalynn suddenly went as cold as Draco before looking to me. "And is this her?" Rosalynn instantly brightened and wrapped her arms around me, her face bending down towards my neck.
I wrapped my arms around her, somewhat awkwardly as I felt her nose press against my jugular vein.
Draco suddenly growled possessively and wrenched me back from Rosalynn, keeping a firm grip on my upper arm. "I'd rather you not touch her. Knowing you and your jealous state, I'd rather my wedding not be tainted with her being bitten."
Rosalynn just grinned and walked off with her other hangers on as Draco's grip on my arm became tighter, going past possessive and starting to go obsessive.
Tears started to spring to my eyes from the almost snap. "Draco!" I whimpered. "Let go, you're hurting me!"
Draco's eyes instantly softened back to the colour and glow that I knew and he went from snarling, possessive "Keep your hands off her" Draco, to the guilt ridden, overprotective, fatherly Draco that I knew and loved. "Sorry! Sorry!" Draco kissed my forehead and rubbed where he had went Brazilian-boa-constrictor on my arm. "Hannah, sweetheart, I am so sorry." he murmured.
"It's ok, it's ok." I told him, feeling relieved that he went back to the Draco that fussed over me like I was a china doll that could break if you handled it to roughly.
"Who was that?" I asked, looking to where Rosalynn took her leave.
"Rosalynn Adams." Draco almost went back to snarling, possessive Draco. "Pure blooded wizard my father was going to plan a betrothal to had the Dark Lord gotten his way and killed you. doesn't help much that she's a vampire and has powers my father would kill anyone to put in the Malfoy grandchildren."
I paled. That was my competition.
"She's no competition for you of course, my love." Draco assured me, rubbing my other arm. "Like I said to Potter during that war, the moment your heart stopped beating, I'd be begging for him to kill me."
I smiled up at him and felt his arms wrap around me as the Valastros came over.
"Draco!" Buddy greeted joyfully, clapping Draco's shoulder and shaking his hand. "Congratulations, my nephew!"
"Thank you, Uncle Buddy." Draco grinned. "Thank you for coming."
"Please, Narcissa's son's wedding isn't anything I'd miss for the world!" Buddy smiled and kissed my cheeks. "Welcome to the family, piccola principessa."
I raised an eyebrow. "Huh?" I looked to Draco.
"Little princess." Draco told me.
"Oh." I nodded. "Duh." I blushed.
"Don't mind her, Uncle, she doesn't know much Italian." Draco told Buddy.
"I can only speak fluent French." I muttered.
"It's fine, you might be able to speak Italian with the best of us in a couple years." Draco muttered, kissing my forehead. "Until then you'll have to put your mind reading skills to good use."
I nodded and thankfully my uncle-in-law spoke to my husband in English.
"Now you two will see your cake later on tonight, alright?" Buddy looked to me.
I nodded with a grin. "Of course." I said before Draco led me to the High table, where everyone in the wedding party was seated where the Hogwarts Professors normally sat.
The house tables weren't in place like they were, in their stead was smaller tables like when the Yule Ball came around, a larger place for a dance floor.
My stomach swept at the thought of dancing. Tradition dictated that I was supposed to dance with not just my brother, but with my husband as well.
I put it from my mind. At the moment, I was starving, I hadn't eaten that day due to getting ready and being scared of not holding food down with the anxiousness I was feeling, I was afraid to throw up.
Now that the ceremony was over and I was married and happy, I'd finally be able to eat without worrying about everything.
Draco knew me so well. He decided (while I was probably drowning at the bottom of the Black Lake.) that the best thing to have for our wedding dinner was a classic of Gordon Ramsey…his famous filet mignon dish.
How had the house elves gotten the recipe done perfectly, I'd never know, but I felt as I ate that I had been celebrating my wedding at one of Gordon Ramsey's world famous restaurants.
"Now will you tell me where you're taking me after tonight!?" I asked Draco hopefully.
Draco grinned and leaned into my ear. "You'll see soon enough." Draco muttered. "After the reception and when you get off the plane."
I huffed. "Fine." I muttered.
"Good girl." Draco muttered, drawing his wand and shortening my veil for me. "Don't want to trip over it, do we?"
I grinned. "Thanks." I muttered, blushing red.
Draco just grinned and kissed my temple. "Anytime…"
I blushed again, half expecting Draco to use my married name.
"Spitfire."
Damn! I thought.
HA! Ivy thought to me.
Hey, be nice to me, I'm the bride! I growled, casting Ivy a scathing look.
You photo bombed my wedding pictures, I get a free crack at you! Ivy smirked at me.
Why are you my matron of honour again? I thought as I ate.
Because you don't have any other friends. Ivy teased.
Rose! I thought to her. And Sheila, Luna, Hermione, Ron, Blaise, Goyle, Crabbe, Blake… I continued to list until I was finished eating.
The man at the Quidditch World Cup that was picking his snot rocket. Ivy reminded me, making me snort.
Goyle snickered.
"Nice one, Hannah." Drosie giggled.
I smirked. Advantage to being the bride…pin your mistakes on your matron of honour. "Ivy did it." I stated matter-of-factly.
"The person that you chose, Malfoy." Blake laughed.
"Which one?" I asked with a smirk. "Me or Draco?"
Draco looked at me and smirked. "Ah! Collins, she got you!" Draco smirked triumphantly. "First witty comeback as my waffle wedded wife!"
Ivy snorted. "Did you just say…?"
I grinned. "First fuck up as my waffle wedded husband." I stated with a grin. "There, now you aren't the only one who screwed up, Draco."
Draco kissed my forehead. "Thank you." he muttered as I sat myself in Draco's lap.
"What the fuck are you doing?" Goyle asked.
"Sitting on my husband, stupid!" I smirked, playfully smacking Goyle's arm.
Goyle grinned as I took some of the chocolate fondue and blotted it on Draco's nose.
"Oi!" Draco narrowed his eyes at me.
I giggled and licked the chocolate off.
Draco smirked and crossed his arms over his head. "Ok, here's your first job. Feed your husband."
I cleared my throat. "Excuse me?" I asked, raising an eyebrow.
Draco instantly stood straight. "When I say 'Here's your first job. Feed your husband…' what I mean to say is 'Here's my first job…to feed my beautiful wife?"
I smirked. "Good boy." I said, crossing my arms and opening my mouth.
I suddenly heard the crack of a whip and Blaise, Crabbe and Goyle laughing.
"Grow up!" Draco snapped to the boys, feeding me a chocolate strawberry.
"I could get used to this." I said, licking my lips.
…
Blaise grabbed the mic when everyone was done eating and all fell silent.
"Ok, ok!" Blaise called for some more silence. "Good evening, everyone. My name is Blaise Lorenzo Zabini and I am the groom's best mate. And since he was my best man, I'm returning the favour."
I grinned.
"So…I've known Draco since we were kids, and even then, he was all about the bride, he was almost creeper-stalker Dragon-Man when it came to poor Hannah Potter…well, now I have to call her Hannah Malfoy…"
I giggled and blushed. I could definitely be counted on to be the blushing bride.
"I knew that her and Malfoy were meant to be together. I can remember the night of their first kiss. It was in second year and everyone was expecting a kiss from them two. So, Draco took her out into Hogwarts' own Forbidden Forest, out into a clearing, sat his new bride down and planted one on her. One wasn't enough and he dove in for more. He was like a crazy man addicted to heroin. Well, he's more like a crazy bastard addicted to heroine."
Everyone laughed.
"He was all in a ditz when he returned to the dorm. Dug out the picture that the late bastard Theo Nott drew when we were in first year of them two kissing and grasped it.
I looked over at him, who was smirking like an insane idiot and asked him. I asked him 'What's with the smirk?'
Malfoy just looked at me and muttered 'I kissed her.'
'NO!' I replied.
'Yeah.' Malfoy smirked wider. 'And, Blaise…so help me, with you as my witness I swear I will make that girl mine.'"
I looked to Draco, who instantly blushed.
"And the rest, as they say, is history." Blaise grinned. "Hannah is beautiful, smart, witty, daring, courageous as hell, she could have anyone. And I'm speaking strictly platonically. So Hannah…why the fuck Draco!?"
I giggled.
"I won't tell you about the time he got his stupid ass Imperioused to sleep with Pansy Parkinson…"
"Too late!" I shouted. "Pansy told me in sixth year."
"I also won't tell you about when he slept with Scarlett Zimmerman…"
I gasped. "YOU WHAT!?" I shouted, now second guessing who I married.
"Relax, Hannah, he was under the Imperious Curse. Lucius Imperioused him to do it." Blaise told me. "It's amazing what you can get out of someone with trust and some Veritaserum."
I sighed in relief.
"But I will tell you lot about right after the Yule Ball fourth year when Draco finally grew a pair and made Hannah his.
We were fourteen and the Ball was all but over, a few more songs and then we had to go to our dorms. I was dancing with my wife when I saw him come in, smirk almost splitting his face in half. didn't know why until I saw him tugging Hannah along behind him.
Looking at him, I could tell that he had finally grown a pair…my facts were certain when he had her head on his chest."
I blushed.
"So…then the git said it took him six months to get her to be his…Malfoy, try four bloody years, mate, or are you that delusional?
But in all seriousness, Malfoy, Hannah, not even Ivy and I have a love like yours. Han, I've grown to find you almost like a second sister to me, you share all of Draco's core values and beliefs…but I still like you."
Everyone burst out laughing.
"But in all seriousness, Han, I never thought that Draco would find a girl after Astoria that was as sweet, as funny, as intelligent, as clever and as beautiful as you are…and Malfoy, don't go possessive on me, I have my own wife and I love her, I'm saying that I never thought you'd ever find a girl like Hannah again after Astoria, but I am glad you did. Especially the genius in white over here. So, I wish you two all the best…and Malfoy, the top two words that'll save your ass in one of your spats 'Yes, dear.'"
Everyone laughed harder.
"So, so we can hurry it up and get to the party part of the night, here's to two people that have waited their entire lives for this…here's to the lucky groom and the delusional bride…to Draco and Hannah Malfoy."
I blushed and giggled as Ivy and Rose stood up, sack in hand.
"Good evening, everyone." Ivy greeted, taking the mic. "My name's Ivy Zabini…"
"And I'm Rose Yaxley…" Rose added.
"And we're two of the bride's best friends and their maid and matron of honour." Ivy grinned, setting the sack down. "Now…we're supposed to say good stuff about Draco and Hannah…any ideas, Rose?"
"I have some stuff…" Rose took the mic. "If anyone knows Draco Lucius Malfoy like I have…you would know that he is a ferrety, slimy git that was Marked by the Dark Lord…"
I cast Rose a scathing look.
"But…" Ivy took the mic. "I never thought I'd say this, but he has good intentions. Marked to save his girlfriend, forced me to date him to give Hannah the courage to leave an abusive boyfriend…"
"I said I was sorry!" Crabbe shouted defensively.
"Yes, yes, Crabbe, shut up." Ivy said. "And people, this man risked his own life to make sure that our bride was able to live to see today. Carried her from the Charms classroom, all the way to the Great Hall to make sure Pomfrey treated her wounds. As much as I hate to say it, if it wasn't for this man, the bride wouldn't be here today."
"So, now we get to roast our lucky bride." Rose giggled. "So, what story first? The story of when Hannah had taken Draco's Nimbus 2001 for a little joy ride?"
Draco cast me a look and I grinned sheepishly.
"Or how about the time during the war when Hannah stole a marital aid and claimed to us 'Harley made me do it!'"
I went red. That wasn't a real excuse, seeing as Harley and I were one and the same.
"I know!" Rose grinned. "I'll start with the day I first saw Hannah. It was the first night at Hogwarts after Hannah's infamous Sorting into the best house -"
We all started laughing.
"and all Malfoy could do was scream at the top of his voice, like so." Rose stepped away from the mic and rose her arms in the air and screamed "YES!" at the top of her lungs not unlike when Draco had heard the Hogwarts Sorting Hat shout "SLYTHERIN!"
"Hate to hang you out to dry, Malfoy, but that's how it was. Even then, once Hannah had taken a seat with Goyle, Crabbe, Blaise and Malfoy I had known that he was in love with her…and I had thought that she was in love with him. That they were an item." Ivy added.
"And, that night, as I decorated my part of the dorm with Rangers posters, all I had heard was a loud thud, which I later learned to have been Hannah's bony ass hitting the floor after colliding with good old Millicent Bulstrode.
Millicent had come back in, with a Hannah that was beet red and embarrassed." Rose giggled. "Instantly when she saw me hanging the Rangers' poster, she looked to me and said 'I think we'll get along just fine! As long as you don't like London, then I'll rip your throat out.'" Rose laughed. "Han, any good Rangers fan hates London, so I lived to tell the tale of when I met Hannah Potter. One of the few soul times when Hannah didn't act like the sweet Disney princess that everyone sees her as right now."
"So, seeing as Hannah gave Blaise a bag when we got married, I feel obligated to give Hannah's new husband a bag on how to survive a marriage with Little Miss Slytherin Princess." Ivy grinned and held up her sack, digging into it.
"Like Han gave me, Ben and Jerry's coupons." Ivy held them up. "Chocolate chip cookie dough is her favourite, Malfoy, don't forget it!"
Rose dug into the bag and pulled out a set of keys. "A driver's license for the car waiting for you at your Manor when you get back for your honeymoon, be it for dates, child delivery, trips to King's Cross…whatever. And Han…" Rose threw me another set of keys. "you always told me that you've always wanted a pick-up truck, you got your wish."
I squealed excitedly as Draco looked positively intimidated by the Muggle device that Rose was holding up.
"And GPS." Ivy held up a little computer. "So Hannah won't kill you on road trips when you refuse to ask for directions because you're too man. Try too stupid."
I giggled.
Rose held up a guitar pick. "A readiness to sing for your bride, knowing her, she loves being serenaded."
I blushed and Draco smirked almost all knowingly, as if he knew something I didn't.
"And a great fear of not only her, but also her friends." Ivy held up a photo album that me, Ivy, Sheila, She-Cat before she died, Hermione, Ginny, Willow, Faith Chamomile and Georgina Hawkins put together over the years (obviously Faith and Georgina helped with the pre-wedding memories.) "Because not only will she kick your ass if you piss her off, but everyone in this book and more will kick your ass if you hurt her." Ivy grinned and tucked it back, handing the bag to Draco.
"So, I'd just like to say that Han, you look amazing, and Malfoy, you look as well as a ferret can look." Rose giggled.
"Outside of the jokes and teasing and put downs, Han, you're an amazing young woman. Strong, independent, witty, clever, headstrong, bold, not to mention extremely beautiful. This was everything you deserve…although I don't think anyone deserves to marry Malfoy, that's a fate worse than death." Ivy nodded and smirked. "But, you love him and someone had to bite the bullet."
Everyone laughed.
"But seriously, Han, not even Blaise and I have a love as strong as yours and Malfoy…excuse me, Draco's. can't really call him Malfoy without him being able to ask 'Which one?' which, knowing him, he would do." Ivy added.
"You two are like Edward Cullen and Bella Swan." Rose nodded in agreement. "I don't think I've ever encountered a man that loved a woman like Draco loves you. You two are the most beautiful couple that I've ever encountered. Hannah, you bring out the best in who would otherwise be a ferrety faced, slimy git."
"So we wish you every happiness and a life full of love and love to fill your life. So here's to Hannah and Draco…congratulations to the lucky newlyweds."
I grinned and hugged my two friends as Harry stood up to make a speech.
He honestly looked like he was crying during the ceremony and hadn't had the time to clean himself up.
"I just want to say that my sister looks wonderful and that everyone is right. As much as my third year self would kill me for saying it, Malfoy, you're too perfect for my baby sister. Hannah, you deserve everything that this man can give you. I used to wish that you two would break up in fourth year, but knowing how much you two love each other and how much…better Malfoy seems to be with you, how Hannah seems to be the best she can be with Malfoy and how dedicated you two are to each other, now all I wish for you two is everything that you have now. Somehow, destiny seemed to play perfectly how you two seemed to be made for each other. Han, I love you, and Malfoy, again, my younger self would kill me for saying this, but I'm proud to call you my brother-in-law, knowing how you make my sister so happy." Harry wiped his eyes. "But I swear, if you break her heart again, you'll be dead before you can take your wedding ring off."
Everyone in my family cheered as Harry went to sit down, but not before I got up carefully, manoeuvring my dress so I could hug my brother.
"I love you, Ge-Ge." I murmured against his shoulder.
"I love you more, Mei-Mei." Harry kissed my temple and sent me back towards my seat as Fred and George Weasley hopped up.
"Oh, Lord." I murmured, blushing as Fred took the mic.
"Hallo, all!" Fred called. "I'm Gred…"
"And I'm Forge…" George added with a grin.
"And we like to call ourselves the bride's extended family." Fred and George said together.
"So naturally, on behalf of all the Weasleys, we want to make a speech. Mum wanted to…" Fred started.
"But she'd be sappy as shit and this is our last chance to roast the bride and groom before the groom locks away our dear sister from another mister from the prying eyes of other men." George laughed. "Protective ferret that he is."
Everyone that wasn't in Slytherin burst out laughing. I cast the two a dark look.
"Right, right…" Fred rolled his eyes. "So, we spoke to Hannah about our speech a few days ago, and she gave us a few criteria that we had to follow if we wanted to leave Hogwarts alive. In her words, she said 'Make an ass out of me and they'll carry you out of my wedding in a body bag!' And we both are smart enough not to piss off Mr. and Mrs. Harley and Cato Quinn."
Now everyone laughed.
"Her criteria were as follows. No talking about the Quidditch World Cup…" George threw away a couple cards.
"No talking about when Umbitch was in school…" Fred threw another card away.
"No talking about whenever Malfoy laid hands on her." George threw another two cards away.
"No making Death Eater references." Fred threw another chunk away.
"Say nice things about Malfoy…" George threw half the speech away.
"Stop calling him Malfoy and call him Draco." Fred drawled and rolled his eyes.
"And her exact words: 'AND SKINNER HELP YOU, NO FERRET JOKES!'" George threw half of the rest of the speech away.
"So she didn't give us much to work with." the twins said together.
"So naturally, since Hannah doesn't want to be sent to Azkaban on her wedding night, we're gonna break a few rules." Fred smirked. "And there's nothing the bride's gonna do to stop it."
Draco and I groaned.
"However, we decided to drop the fact that he's a Death Eater and when he had laid hands on her, we're bastards…we aren't villains." George added.
"But there will be ferret jokes…loads and loads of ferret jokes. By the way…Draco, look under your bride's skirt."
I paled and hitched up my skirt, finding a small black ferret at my feet, which Draco lifted up.
"Our wedding gift, a practice daughter for the King and Queen Ferret!" the twins chorused together as I took the little ferret and tickled its tummy.
The ferret clicked and crawled up my dress, settling in the crook of my neck.
"You two are dead later." I stated to them, Draco and I scratching the little ferret on my shoulder.
"Well at least Diablo has something else to ride on." the Weasley twins said together with a grin.
"We aren't much for words, but we have other stuff going for us near the end of the reception." Fred stood. "Now…sadly, we're gonna get Ferret and Ferret into their first dance, but first we're going to say this. Malfoy, now that you're married to a Potter, that makes you technically married to the Weasleys as well. Again, should you hurt her like you did three years ago, they're will be hell to pay, Draco Malfoy. So be good to the Saviour, will ya? But…"
"We wish you two all the best." the Weasley twins said together, raising their glasses. "To the new Mr and Mrs Draco Malfoy, the Amazing Bouncing Ferrets."
We all started laughing as the twins sat down, Narcissa standing up and grinning at me.
"I just want to say, Hannah, welcome to the family. You've done so much for Draco since you entered the wizard world and you make Draco so happy. I've never seen two people more meant to each other. You have been the best influence for Draco and Melody and I have no idea what would have happened had they taken after Lucius." Narcissa grinned at me. "So welcome to the family." Narcissa came over and kissed my forehead as Draco stood up, guitar in hand.
Now I knew what Draco's all knowing smirk was for when Ivy and Rose revealed the guitar pick. He already planned to play.
"Oh, Skinner." I murmured to myself as my fellow Slytherin girls squealed.
"Called it!" Rosie grinned as Draco grabbed the mic.
When the groom grabbed the mic, everyone shut up.
"Alright…" Draco smirked at everyone. "I had a hunch that everyone would want me to sing at my wedding…so, I've been working on this since the war for my wife."
I blushed and grinned up at Draco as he started to play One Direction. The girls around me screamed when they recognized the song as One Thing
"I tried playing it cool, but when I was looking at you. I couldn't ever be brave, 'cause you make my heart race. Shot me out of the sky, you're my kryptonite, you keep making me weak, yeah, frozen and can't breathe.
Something had to give now. Cause I'm dying just to make you see. That I need you here with me now…you are my one thing.
Get out, get out, get out of my head, and fall into my arms instead. I don't I don't, don't know what it is…but I need that one thing, you have that one thing!
Now I'm climbing the walls, but you don't notice at all. That I'm going out of my mind, all day and all night.
Something's gotta give now, 'cause I'm dying just to know you're name. and I need you here with me, now. 'Cause you are my one thing.
Get out, get out, get out of my head, and fall into my arms instead. I don't I don't, don't know what it is…but I need that one thing! Get out, get out, get out of my mind, and come on, come into my life. I don't I don't, don't know what it is, but I need that one thing you've got that one thing.
You've got that one thing. Get out, get out, get out of my head, and fall into my arms instead.
Get out, get out, get out of my head, and fall into my arms instead. I don't I don't, don't know what it is…but I need that one thing, you have that one thing! Get out, get out, get out of my mind, and come on, come into my life. I don't I don't, don't know what it is, but you've got that one thing. I need that one thing."
The girls screamed as Draco tucked his guitar away, some of which were shooting me jealous glares.
I got up and threw myself into Draco's arms with a giggle.
"I love you, babe." Draco murmured.
I reached up to kiss him. "Love you more." I murmured.
Blaise grabbed the mic again. "I think you lot know what time it is."
I paled, swallowing. My time of reckoning had come.
"Come on, Malfoy, your time finally came to dance with your bride."
I blushed again. Please don't make an ass of myself, please don't make an ass of myself, please don't make an ass of myself. I pleaded to no one in particular, anyone who'd listen to my hope that I wouldn't make an ass of myself.
But I wasn't noticing that Draco had led me to the dance floor just as the most perfect song started to play.
Safe and Sound. My lullaby. What should have been the last thing I would have ever heard before I died was the song that was playing as I had my first dance with my husband as I rested my head over his heart.
I loved him. Life was too perfect for me. The war was over forever, and I married the man I loved. Nothing could make me happier, especially not as Draco led me around the dance floor as if I was nothing but a white feather, being guided around by a gust of dark wind. Now I just felt stupid. Dancing with a Malfoy was absolutely nothing to be afraid of, especially a Malfoy that was spoiled to the core, treated to dance lessons outside of school curriculum, trained in waltz, salsa, fandango, tango, cha-cha, not to mention swing. He could whirl me around in any of the above fluidly and not think twice about it. With Draco, I was attractive, almost graceful on my feet. That night was no exception, the white tulle of my skirt flowed with me around my legs as Draco swept me around.
"Enjoying the party, Mrs Malfoy?" Draco murmured to me.
I giggled. "That's gonna take a lot of getting used to." I stated.
"We have a while." Draco told me, bending down to kiss me as cameras flashed.
I smiled, almost feeling like Bella Swan with Edward Cullen on their wedding day, it was almost as if it was I had set myself up for what had been said by Draco.
I couldn't help but sigh. After tonight, Draco would be mine, all mine. No one else would have him except for me.
My mind was blissfully blank as I rested my head on his chest, breathing in the familiar scent I associated with love, passion, safety and Draco. The scent was almost inebriating (which was funny, the closest to alcohol that I had so far was a glass of champagne while Harry, Blaise, Ivy and Rose, Narcissa and the Weasley twins made their speeches.), sending me to another part of the world that was still processing everything that had happened that day.
Draco was my husband. There was a part of my mind that was still thinking that we were in sixth year, the war, maybe. The fact that Draco Malfoy belonged to me was still a thought that was strange in my mind. Perfect and wonderful, but strange.
And that night, I'd be able to consummate that statement. Thank Skinner Luna gave me one last dose of Virginity Restoring Draught. Now that Lucius was in St. Mungo's, nothing could stop me from letting Draco take this last chance at my virginity.
Draco bent down to kiss me quickly before passing me off to my brother as the song changed.
I looked up at my brother and grinned at him as he looked down at me. "You look amazing tonight, Hannah. I'm gonna miss you while you're on your honeymoon. I'm lonely already."
I grinned. "Hey, you're at the Manor, don't worry. But you'll be stuck eating take-out for a while."
"If it gets me a niece or nephew, I'll survive." Harry grinned and spun me around as grandpa Frank tapped Harry's shoulder.
"Now, Hermes, let me dance with the bride." Ace grinned at me as I took his hand, letting my grandpa spin me around as Draco did the same with Narcissa.
I grinned. It was almost like having my parents with me at my wedding, my dad giving me away, my dad in Harry and my grandpa dancing with me. It was all too perfect.
All too quickly, Draco had taken Nona out for a spin and Draco's grandfather took my hand.
"I believe it's my turn to dance with my granddaughter-in-law." Ben Frollo grinned at me as Draco spun Nona around like a feather in the wind.
I watched Nona and Draco dancing as Ben whirled me around the dance floor. Again, dancing with someone who was even close to being a Malfoy was something as simple as possible. Not as simple as with my Malfoy, but still simplistic.
After a few minutes, Draco tapped his step grandfather's shoulder. "May I cut in?"
Ben nodded and placed my hand in Draco's, going to claim Draco's grandmother.
Draco grinned and led me back to my seat, kissing my cheek. "You almost look like Jackie Kennedy." he murmured to me. "Or Kate."
I blushed. "Oh, please." I laughed. "I have nothing on Kate Middleton."
"She doesn't have eyes as beautiful as yours." Draco pointed out, taking a lock of my hair and spinning it around in his fingers. "Or hair as soft as yours."
I looked down and flushed as Draco cast a scathing look at the side of the room and growled, holding my arm protectively. "Come on, love, I'll get you a drink." Draco stood and lead me to the impromptu bar where Fred and George were drinking Firewhiskey and toasting the stupidest things.
"Han!" Fred wrapped an arm around me and laughed with George.
"Are you two drunk?" I asked, raising an eyebrow when I smelt whiskey on George's breath.
"I swear to God I'm not…" Fred laughed. "yet."
I rolled my eyes as the twins took a bottle and sat back down, Draco getting two flutes of Chardonnay and giving me one, still casting furious looks at someone.
"Damned Fyaro." Draco growled. "Bastard's trying to claim that you were his first."
I whipped around and gasped. Sure enough, there was the familiar sight of Fyaro Delmonte talking to Zach Dyrdek and his sister Val.
"I can read lips." Draco told me when I opened my mouth to ask how he knew what Fyaro was saying. "But I don't resent him for having improper thoughts of a married woman, especially the way you look tonight."
I shrugged. "I must look alright." I said.
"Must? Alright?" Draco raised his eyebrows. "Did you not see yourself before you walked down the aisle!?"
I shook my head and blushed. "Never had time, since you wanted to get married at sunset."
Draco rolled his eyes and took my hand. "Come with me." he said, tugging me into the first floor girl's bathroom.
I sighed. "Draco, you're so biased." I laughed as Draco pulled me in to Moaning Myrtle's bathroom and pulling me into the soul whole mirror in the loo and pointing to it.
"Biased, am I?" he asked, making me look into it.
There was Draco, looking handsome and dapper as usual, except in black dress robes that reminded me eerily of when I was fourteen.
But yet if I didn't know any better, I would have never thought that the person in front of Draco was me.
Monique had pulled some of my hair up, letting what she left down fall in waves down my back, letting my usually tame hair run wild for my night of nights.
I could hardly believe that I was staring at my own face. For a minute, I thought that my mother had come back at my age and took my husband after dying her hair black and putting in colour contacts.
I could have cried if I could. Rose had gotten a picture from my mother's wedding and copied her makeup exactly for me from the silver eyeliner to the shade of lip gloss and everything in between.
I smiled at myself before sipping at the Chardonnay in my hand, Draco whisking me from the room and making me bump into someone.
"Hannah, you look beautiful." a thick Bulgarian accented voice sounded above me.
I looked up. "Viktor!" I beamed, hugging him gently.
"Congratulations to you both." Viktor grinned at me and Draco. "I vish you both the very best."
"Thank you." Draco and I said together as Viktor took my hand and kissed it.
"You make a very beautiful bride, Mrs Malfoy." Viktor told me.
I blushed and giggled at the use of my name.
"Watch it, Viktor, that's my wife." Draco stated proudly, wrapping an arm around me.
"Of course, Malfoy." Viktor stated. "I vould never try to steal your vife avay from you. Especially not on your wedding day."
"Hey, where're the bride and groom?" I heard Ron ask in the Great Hall.
"Probably off consummating their vows." Hermione giggled.
"Well, get them in their clothes, it's time for Han to throw her bouquet." Harry huffed.
"I'll get them." Ivy ran out of the Hall. "Holy shit, Hermione, you were wrong! They're still clothed!"
"Shut up, Zabini." I said.
Ivy smirked. "Whatever you say, Mrs Malfoy. Speaking of which, it's time for the bouquet and garter toss."
I blushed and nodded as Draco led me back into the Hall, Blaise setting a chair in front of me.
"So, I'll take this…" Blaise took my handkerchief (that Draco had given me in sixth year after he returned from serving Voldemort) from my bra and spun Draco around. "And blindfold the groom."
"Hey, the inside of her bra smells nice." Draco remarked as Blaise tied the midnight blue satin square over his eyes. "She used a different Bath and Body Works product than her usual."
I blushed and giggled as Blaise turned Draco around a couple times. "Alright, Malfoy, here's the deal. You're blindfolded right?" Blaise waved a hand in front of Draco's face. "Can you see?"
"Not a thing." Draco huffed.
"Good, then here are the rules. You're going to go under your bride's skirt and locate the garter and pull it down with your teeth." Blaise started. "You aren't to use your hands, only your mouth and teeth. And if you bite on Hannah's skin…she holds the right to kick you with her high heel."
I laughed, holding onto Raven's bouquet that I was going to end up throwing as Draco hitched up my skirt and crawled in as Blaise gathered the men that weren't married (including Ron and my brother.) on the dance floor as I felt Draco kissing up my leg and finding my thigh, sinking his teeth into my flesh.
I winced and hissed. "That's one free kick with Han's shoe!" Blaise laughed, no doubt he saw the pained look flash across my face.
Draco kissed where he had bit me and found Drosie's garter, taking it off very carefully with his teeth.
Once Draco crawled out of my skirt, I took my freebie and pressed my heel gently into Draco's shoe. "That's for biting me." I whispered.
Draco smirked at me and kissed my forehead. "Happy now?" he asked.
I nodded as Draco aimed my garter and flicked it right in the Weasley twins' face.
I giggled, watching the two fighting not to get it as I stood, the single women crowding around me.
"Ready, Hannah?" Blaise asked. "After all, you were a Chaser on the Slytherin team."
"Don't need reminding, Blaise." I said before Blaise did the countdown.
"Three…two…one…throw it!"
I smirked and threw Raven's bouquet behind me and turned around when I heard screaming.
Drosie and Ginny were arguing over the bouquet, tugging it back and forth until each had a half.
Drosie giggled and brandished her flowers. "Dean!"
Dean laughed and picked Anne up and kissed her, Harry picking up Ginny and kissing her as well.
I smiled as Draco wrapped an arm around me. The sight of all the love was enough to move any person (well, besides any Snake Faced Little Shit.) to tears and it certainly did Draco and I that night.
Draco squeezed my shoulder and handed me back my handkerchief. "Why are you crying?" he asked.
I sniffed and wiped my eyes. "Everyone cries at weddings, my husband, the genius." I stated.
"Yeah. I could've told you that." Draco laughed and kissed my forehead as Narcissa handed me a knife.
"Buddy's bringing out the cake in a few minutes." she told me.
I bit my lip, excited tremors going down my spine. I couldn't believe that I had my wedding cake made by Buddy Valastro…my uncle-in-law. Buddy Valastro was my uncle-in-law. Draco was related to Buddy Valastro. Draco Malfoy was my husband.
Draco squeezed my shoulder again and bent down to kiss my cheek as Buddy came in with cousin Anthony with a cart.
"Sweet mother of Jeff Skinner, Ben Fanelli and Radek Faksa!" Draco and I shouted in unison.
"Oh my god, Buddy, it's gorgeous!" I gushed, looking it over.
At the bottom was the princess bottom from my wedding dress, laced with dark green and black fondant at the seams of the tiers, the green standing out against the otherwise black and white cake.
But it was the top that got me. Buddy had intermingled two snakes for a cake topper with two phoenixes at the very top where duplicates of mine and Draco's wands sat crisscrossed.
"Buddy, you're amazing!" I said. "I couldn't have had it don't better by anyone else! Thank you…"
"Anything for my niece in law…piccola principessa." Buddy said before wrapping me in a hug and kissing my cheek before shaking hands with my husband as cameras flashed mercilessly to get a glimpse of the designer cake.
"Alright, Hannah…" Narcissa led me to the cake after cousin Anthony set it on the table. "Draco, get over here! don't let Hannah hog the spotlight."
Draco and I laughed as Draco took my wrist that was holding the cake knife in both hands.
"I'm telling you now, if you smash cake in my face, I'm going to step on your scrotum with my high heels."
Draco just smirked as everyone took frenzied pictures of Draco helping me bring my wrist and the knife down on the cake, taking our slice before Anthony took the knife to cut the rest of the cake.
Cameras were still flashing as Narcissa brought a chair for me to stand on so I could reach Draco's mouth, causing Draco's friends to chuckle.
"I get it!" I told them. "I'm petite! Live with it!"
Draco laughed as I took the plate, each of us grabbing a fork full and looking to each other.
"I swear to Skinner…" I muttered as I fed him. "don't smash it in my face or you'll be sleeping on the couch when we get home."
Draco just smirked. "Just open your mouth so I can feed you."
I rolled my eyes and obeyed.
Draco put most of the cake in my mouth but smeared some icing on my nose.
"You ass!" I snapped at him, sticking my tongue out at him.
Draco just smirked and kissed the icing off my face with a triumphant grin.
I smashed what I had in hand in his face as well. "Payback is a bitch, isn't it, my husband?" I asked.
Draco smirked. "Funny, really witty…" Draco laughed. "you know what's even funnier?"
I read his mind and went white. "You wouldn't dare…" I whispered.
Draco smirked and kissed me full on the mouth, making my mouth area a mess of icing and cake
I glared at him and licked the icing and cake off my lips.
"I love you." Draco grinned.
"Yeah, yeah." I said, reapplying my lip gloss.
Draco smirked and led me to the head table as everyone got cake. Thankfully, there was enough cake for everyone to get a piece and save the top for us for later after the wedding.
I grinned, perching myself on Draco's lap as we fed each other what cake we were given as Narcissa packed up the leftover cake for us later.
I giggled and kissed Draco, wrapping both arms around his neck.
Draco hummed and pulled away from me. "Not now, love." Draco whispered, kissing my forehead. "Give it another hour." he winked at me.
I giggled again as Alvaro tapped my shoulder.
"Han…look…" Alvaro started as Draco growled, holding my waist. "about what happened at the ceremony…"
"It's fine." I told him. "Isn't it, Draco?" I asked, turning to Draco angrily.
Draco grumbled "Fine, I guess."
I looked to Alvaro and sighed. He really did love me. I didn't love him like he wanted me to, but he was our coven brother, even if he betrayed us to try and win me. I loved him like a brother and nothing more. But he did deserve something for not completely defecting. He did give Draco the intelligence he needed to save my life, after all.
I stood up. "How about a dance?" I offered. "For old times sake?"
"Hannah!" Draco shot up.
"Draco, he helped you save my life." I told him. "He deserves a dance for his efforts."
Alvaro grinned and Draco huffed. "Fine." he muttered.
Alvaro led me onto the dance floor as Set Fire to the Ran started to play.
We did a box step, similar to what Harry and I had done during our first dance and at the Yule Ball four years previous, the night Draco first asked me to be his.
"Are you happy, Hannah?" Alvaro asked, raising an eyebrow.
I smiled. "I couldn't be happier." I said.
Alvaro locked eyes with me. "I don't want to you do something you regret." he told me.
"I'll never regret this." I said, touching his face. "Alvaro, you're like a brother to me and I love you platonically…but what you did…the way that you just took my virginity under orders of Lucius Malfoy…it's unforgivable to some. I can forgive you, but I won't be able to forget. I wouldn't be able to live knowing say if we were the ones that got married, that my husband yanked me away from Draco under orders."
Alvaro nodded. "I understand. I just want you to be happy."
"I am happy." I assured him.
Alvaro grinned. "Then I guess I'm happy for you."
I smiled. "Thank you." I said. "But when the time comes, I'll help you find someone else."
I knew that my choice was killing him inside. But he just wasn't the one for me. The one for me was the man I married. And I was sure of that as I danced with him.
…
A few hours later, after Narcissa packed away my bouquet, Draco picked me up for our last dance before we went on the train back home, almost everyone in the bridal party and most of the guests going somewhere, those sticking around pulling out cameras and cell phones to record our moment.
Our almost final song was one that I had never expected. But I always loved it just for the sentimentality of the song, especially during the war.
Come Fly With Me…the original by Frank Sinatra.
I grinned at the slight upbeat of the song, Draco getting his chance to bring his lessons in swing to good use as I got to do the same, still marvelling at Draco's ability to swing me around his back in my wedding dress as fast as a whip, stopping me short of getting dizzy, pulling me into his arms when the song changed for the last time that night into a song that I had never heard before in my life.
I looked to Draco, confused as he smirked at me.
Realization washed over me when I heard Draco's voice playing through the speakers.
I wish I knew everything there is to know about you. And I want you to see just exactly what you mean to me. And you, you think you know me. I guarantee there's a lot more to see. And you, you don't believe it's true that if I'm dreaming then I'm dreaming of you.
And I wish that I could hold your hand, feet beneath the sand and I wish that I could drive you in my car to kiss you under stars.
I gasped. "You wrote a song for our wedding?" I asked.
"Of course I did." Draco grinned at me and spun me around.
I want you to be everything that you deserve to be and if I close my eyes, then I can see you perfectly. And I, I don't know where to go. I wrote a song just to let you know that we, we can be together. I'll hold you forever.
And I wish that I could hold your hand, feet beneath the sand and I wish that I could drive you in my car to kiss you under stars.
I grinned. What had I done to deserve him? What could I have possibly done to be worthy of someone so perfect, beautiful, amazing man? He was everything I wasn't…my other half.
He was mine. Tears sprang to my eyes and down my cheeks at the thought.
Draco wiped my eyes. "What is it?" he asked me.
I sniffed and smiled. "I just don't know what I did to deserve you." I muttered, going pink.
Draco just grinned and hoisted me up to kiss me. "You know something, Han?" Draco murmured.
"I know a lot of things." I told him.
Draco grinned. "Then do you know that I think the exact same thing every time I look into your eyes?" he asked.
I smiled again and kissed him as Draco spun us around.
I wish that I could hold your hand, feet beneath the sand, I wish that I could feel your touch, I think about you so much.
…
Draco and I said our last goodbyes to Hogwarts and ran out into the grounds, where we were pelted with rice and oddly enough croutons.
I looked over to my right, where I was getting hit with croutons.
There stood Luna and Archimedes Lovegood, dressed in the familiar yellow dress robes I only saw at Bill and Fleur's wedding.
Draco put his cloak over my head and we ran until I got to Athena, who was with my family.
Athena grinned at me. "Congratulations, cousin." she said.
We all gasped. "Whoa, she talked!" Vanessa squealed.
"Duh." Athena said, laughing. "Guess I just needed a boot to the ass to get me going. Thanks, Han."
Nona and Ace smiled at me. "Congratulations, sweetheart." Nona kissed my forehead. "Make sure to have us come and visit…and we'll make sure that your father's parents get to meet you as well."
"Come on, Grandma," Emily said. "Don't let them miss the train."
I smiled and hugged my family quickly before Draco pulled me to the platform.
"GOOD LUCK, HANNAH!" Azalia and Dmitri shouted.
I turned and waved to them. "I love you guys!" I shouted before Draco pulled me into the back compartment of the Hogwarts Express.
Before I could even breathe, Draco threw me to the wall and pressed his mouth down on mine.
"Mine…" Draco murmured against my throat. "Han…tell me you're mine."
"You know I am…" I murmured. "Draco, we'll be at the Manor in a few hours."
"Don't make me wait, Hannah, please, don't make me wait." Draco purred, sucking on my neck. "I've waited weeks for this and I don't want to be denied anymore. I need you…now!"
I started to reach behind me to unzip my dress, willingly giving Draco what he wanted, but Draco stopped me.
"No…no…keep it on…" Draco growled, dipping under my skirt and exercising his right as my husband by ripping my underwear off, sitting me on the seat and laying me back.
I moaned, unbuttoning Draco's pants.
Draco started to take his shirt off but I grabbed his wrists.
"No…clothes on." I growled.
Draco growled and kissed me again.
…
Consummated and satisfied, I laid over Draco's chest as he played with the gems on my dress's bodice.
Draco stroked my hair and kissed my forehead. "I love you so much." he murmured.
"I love you, too." I whispered groggily.
"You go to sleep, sweetheart. I'll wake you when we get off."
I shook my head. "No, don't wanna…" I murmured, cuddling into him and yawning.
Draco grinned and kissed my temple, stroking my cheek. "Shh, love, you're tired. Go to sleep." Draco murmured before singing my lullaby for the first time as my husband.
I sighed, letting my head fall onto Draco's heart as my eyes closed. The last thing I heard before Draco's heartbeat carried me off to sleep sent me to sleep with a grin on my face and a sigh on my lips.
"Sleep well, Mrs Malfoy."
