Chapter one.

Nile Dawk

I gave a hard sigh. The rows of people, Circling around the dead body. "Move aside!" I said. I and a few others were walking up to take a look at the current situation. We wore brown robe-like coats, with a white t-shirt under, and a green unicorn printed to a shield shape on the coat shoulder, representing the military police. We walked down the street, rifles slinging over our shoulders. We pushed through the crowd of people and stepped over the police line, as others who were holding back the crowd came up and saluted us. They wore white and blue shirts, with the same symbol as ours at the same spot.

"Nile Dawk, sir! We have confirmed that this is the exact same style as the murder from last week." I would take a look at the murder. The body was almost cracked in half, bones sticking out in every possible direction. The left arm was twisted in impossible ways, and the right arm was just gone. The legs were separated from the body, and the head was twisted completely around, and when the face was examined it was completely unrecognizable.

"Ok let's take a look at the facts. This obviously was the same murder or an associate of the murder. This has been going on for almost a year now, and the kill count has surpassed 150. We need to study fingerprints and try to catch the killer." I would say. "But there's still one thing we have to consider. The lightning strikes. Every time one of these murders happened, yellow lighting comes and strikes near the spot of the murder, and a second later we have dead body's everywhere."

I continued. "They're somehow connected, they must be. But we have to find out why. Anyway, grab the police carriage and bring them over here. We need to transport this body." I said once again. One of the lower-ranking officers put on some ODM gear that he had and took off to go get the carriage. "Hmm... there's one more thing that puzzles me. About the titan attack seven years ago." The crowd has pretty much left at this point, but hearing this news the rest of them quickly scurried away, trying to keep the dark memories at bay. At this time, there weren't many of us left here. Two guards, two detectives, and me.

There were some chairs the guards were using so we grabbed them and began discussing this matter. "Now that the crowds are gone we can finally talk facts. The lighting. Yellow, lighting appears near the murder spot. Sometimes there's even some smoke, but not usually. But there's one thing I need to know. Seven years ago. The colossal and armored titan demolished the wall, opening up a path through the Shanghai district into the wall. There were two lightning strikes."

I took out a map from my bag and point to the spots of the explosions. "Here, and here. Now, we're over here. both districts are built in similar ways, and the lightning strikes seem to be around the same spot the first two were." I'd line up the two maps, showing how close the lightning strikes are. Most of them, anyway." I'd say looking at this body. It was almost to the other side of the entire district. "Nile, sir!" Two guards would be turning a corner with the carriage, with the messenger we sent with them.

"We got the message, and are ready to transport the body. But, we do have a special visitor today, so we have another carriage behind us for you to take over." I'd look over to see another carriage behind with two guards getting off the riding seat and letting a woman who was inside it on. "Ah, ok. I guess I best get going then. See you at HeadQuarters." "Roger that, captain." The guard would say. They would load the body and get in. I would walk over and another guard would pass me and get into the one behind me.

I would take a seat in the front. "Good afternoon, sir." She would welcome me. "A good afternoon isn't really the right word, Mikasa." I would say to her. "Well, how was your day?" She would ask me. "It's been fine. How about you? Have you been ok?" I asked her, but she would go quiet. "Ok, well I heard you were going to be getting a promotion later today, and I plan to attend." I would say. "Yes, it's true." She would start the carriage, and we would begin to trot along.

"There is something I want to talk to you about." She would say, with a bit of urgency in her eyes. "Ok then, what's the matter?" I would ask, arms crossed. "Do you remember what I told you about Eren's disappearance?" She would say, looking over at me. "I think I have a lead" my eyes would lit up. Ever sense she told me about it I had always been wondering what happened, and I finally might get my answers.

"Go on." I said, preparing myself for this discovery. "It's going to take a while to explain." She would say, glancing at the sky. "Oh, don't you worry," I tell her. "We have time." She let out a sigh and nodded in agreement. "I guess so." She would say, as she begins her story.
