Multiple thoughts race through Lincoln's head as he is walking down the sidewalk. (I NEED to tell Leni to stop babying me! But...what if she gets mad at me? What if she hates me for it? What if I really hurt her feelings? I mean, I know that I'm mad but it's not like she meant for it to happen. She's just trying to look out for me!)
"Hey Linc, you alright?" Lynn asked Lincoln. She noticed the whole walk home, with her other siblings, that Lincoln had been acting very strange. He was murmuring to himself, holding his head, and even sweating profusely.
"Wha-What?" Lincoln says as he's knocked back to reality. "Y-Yeah I'm good! Just-Just worrying about this really hard equation I have to solve for homework!" After Lincoln says this Lynn tries to reassure him.
"Oh! I'm a bit good at math! I could probably help ya!" Lynn suggested.
"N-No I'm good! I'm trying to improve so I need to practice by myself. Thank you for offering though!" Lincoln states as if to solidify his lie.
Lynn then looks at him confused "Ooook . Well, if you do need help just ask me!"
"Ok! Thanks Lynn!" Lincoln says with a faint smile.
As the siblings continue to walk, they eventually come face to face with the house. The sisters all rush through the door, happy to finally be home after a boring day of school. Lincoln, however, steps up to the door and stops. He takes a deep breath and gives himself some last minute reassurance.
"Ok Lincoln. You can do this. Just go up to her, and politely ask her to stop treating you like a kid. Simple right?" Lincoln says to himself. He takes one last breath, and then he turns the knob and walks in. Before he could say anything, Leni sees him and darts towards him.
"Lincy! I'm sooooo glad you're safe! I was totes worried about you all day!" Leni says as she's cooing to Lincoln and rubbing her cheeks all over his face.
"Yea, I'm fine Leni." Lincoln says incredibly uncomfortable as he can barely talk as Leni is smothering him. "Why did you think something was wrong?" Lincoln questioned.
As soon as Leni hears this, she lets go, crosses her arms and looks away from him.
"What? Did I do something wrong?" Lincoln says as he's quite confused at Leni's sudden actions.
"You didn't call me all day!" Leni says with a pouty face. "I went through the whole day not sure that you were okay! I worry about you a lot Lincy! You mean so much to me!" Leni says as her eyes begin to tear up. She then goes into a full crying fest with her head laying in the crook of his neck. "If you came home beat up or crying, my whole world would have crashed down!" Leni sobs.
As Leni says all this to Lincoln, all he can do is feel horrible. At that moment, he forgot all about the embarrassing ride to school. He forgot all about how the entire school laughed at him after Leni held his hand to the door. He forgot all about the bullies who picked on him for having an overprotective sister. All he could think about now was how much his ignorance had hurt his dear sister. He felt like a piece of crap. This whole time he was worried about his own personal image. He didn't know that Leni cared THAT much about him. He certainly knew that she loved him, but he remembered that he is her ONLY brother. Of course she wouldn't want anything to happen to him.
Lincoln then wraps his arms around Leni and consoles her while also apologizing for his actions "Leni… I'm so sorry. I should've called you and let you know that I was alright. I'm sorry I made you worry this much. I'm...I'm so pathetic that I made a loving and caring sister like you cry! I'll never do that again!" Lincoln then hugs Leni a bit tighter but not so much that it would hurt her. "Leni, I love you, and I hope that you can forgive me." Lincoln finishes his apology.
As Lincoln said all this, Leni was so shocked at what her little knight in shining armor had just said.
Leni, I love you.
The only thing Leni could feel at this moment was joy. The words echoed throughout her head.
Leni, I love you.
"O-M-GOSH LINCY! OF COURSE I FORGIVE YOU!" Leni squeals as she grips her brother back. "You are the sweetest little gumdrop ever! Ohhh I could just eat you up!" Leni says as she pecks Lincoln all over his face.
"Hahaha, stop that Leni it tickles!" Lincoln says playfully. Leni then stops pecking at him and looks at his heartwarming eyes.
(Ohhhhh! It's like I'm falling in love all over again!) Leni thinks to herself.
"I'm glad you forgive me." Lincoln says. "I have to go upstairs so I can work on my homework, but if you ever just want to talk or something like that don't hesitate to come to me." Lincoln says and then kisses her on the forehead. "Love you!" Lincoln says as he gets up and walks upstairs.
Leni is left there with just herself and her thoughts.
Leni, I love you.
(He...he said he loved me! He...he kissed me!) Leni thinks to herself.
(Well not on the lips, but it still counts! But still, I...I can't believe he said it in such a...manly tone!) Leni drifts into thought oblivious of what kind of love Lincoln actually displayed.
After that the day goes on fairly normally for the Louds. They have dinner, they go outside and play, they watch TV in the living room, and then they go to bed.
However, at about 1:27am Lincoln wakes up by a sudden urge to take a leak "Oh man! I gotta pee really bad!"
Lincoln goes out of his room and walks down the hallway. He makes it to the bathroom, and notices that there is a light emitting from the crack at the bottom of the door. (Guess someone else had the same problem.) Lincoln thought to himself.
He turns to go back to his room to wait, but then he hears an unsettling moan coming from the bathroom…
"Oh Lincy!"
To be continued...
