This took longer than I wanted. I haven't quite decided how I feel about it, but I'm ready to move on. Things are about to get interesting. Or... more interesting. Maybe. Depending on whether you're enjoying this or not.
Fair warning, there is some sexual activity in this chapter toward the end. Nothing graphic. But it's there.
"You're leaving now?" Neville asked, his voice breaking slightly as he stared at the Alphas in shock and anguish. "There are still three months left of the term."
Harry sighed heavily. He didn't want to leave his pack behind so abruptly, and he knew that Draco was hurting as well. There was so much that needed to be done, and attempting to make arrangements for the future simply wasn't possible while they were at Hogwarts.
"I'm sorry Neville," he said quietly. "This is how it has to be. We have much to do and not much time to do it."
"This is for all of you," Draco added, his gaze drifting over the Pack. They were scattered around the Room of Requirement with expressions of dismay and misery. "We want to make sure that there are safe places for you to go if you need it. We have allies to meet with. Supplies to collect. We don't want to leave you, but this is for the best."
"The Deltas will be here for all of you," Hermione said helpfully, swallowing hard around the lump in her throat. "You'll be in good hands."
Neville closed his eyes and drew in a shaky breath. His eyes burned, but he refused to let any tears fall. The other wolves needed him to be strong. "We'll take care of everything while you're gone," he said, looking back at Harry. He couldn't bring himself to shift his gaze to Blaise just yet.
The next hour was spent with tearful goodbyes. Neville was quiet as he watched the others, still trying to wrap his mind around his new responsibilities. He was distracted when he spotted Blaise approaching hesitantly. They were good friends now, and Neville was grateful despite wanting more.
"I thought I had more time at school," Blaise commented lightly, coming to a stop at the Gryffindor's side.
Neville nodded silently.
"You're gonna be great," Blaise said. "You've grown and really come into your own. I'm proud to have you as a Delta." He paused, his gaze drifting over Neville's face. "I just regret that it took me so long to realize how amazing you are."
Neville looked down at the floor, feeling his face heat up with a blush. He'd spent the last several months being a supportive friend and only occasionally hinting at the affection he felt toward the Beta. Blaise had been so hurt by Ron's relationship with Viktor and there hadn't seemed to be room for feeling anything but friendship toward Neville. Now it appeared that Neville's quiet support had paid off. Shame that it was a little too late.
"I'll miss all of you," Neville murmured. "Summer break seems so far off."
"I'll write to you," Blaise assured him quickly. "I'll be busy, but I'll make time to write to you. If that's alright," he added hopefully.
Neville chuckled wetly. "Of course it is," he responded, turning to pull Blaise into a tight hug. "Just take care of yourself and I'll see you this summer." A single tear rolled down as his cheek as he pulled back.
Blaise gently pressed a chaste kiss to Neville's mouth, smiling at the pleasant surprise that lit up Neville's face. "See you later," Blaise whispered before turning and following the Alphas out the door.
Harry and Draco returned home in February, along with the Betas, despite how painful it was to leave their pups early. Each of the Deltas was assigned to a few of the pups, to act as a stand in for the Alphas. The rest of the wolf pack was there for additional support. Harry had left instructions to direct letters and all other communication to Professor Snape or Professor McGonagall so that the Pack wouldn't feel so cut off from their Alphas. A more efficient method of communication was being sought out with help from the Weasley twins. By the end of summer, Harry hoped to have safety protocols and exit strategies established for the Pack. He refused to leave them stranded at the school with no hope to reach their Alphas.
The next few months were indeed busy. Harry and Draco spent a great deal of time going over information with Dumbledore to determine where to begin the Horcrux search. Dumbledore had been moved from St. Mungos to Harry's home. He remained weakened and unable to walk, but he was comforted by being close to people that cared about him so much.
Ron and Blaise met with the wolves that were outside of Hogwarts. Viktor had worked diligently and made the house he'd purchased an impressive safe house. The wards were strong and there was plenty of room. There was even a bedroom prepared especially for Viktor and Ron; a fact when made Ron blush heavily while Blaise coughed to hide a laugh.
Adrian Pucey had recruited Warrington Davis and Marcus Flint, and the three of them now led a small group of wolves. They'd been quite pleased to see Ron and Blaise, though they were slightly disappointment not to be able to see Harry and Draco.
Vincent and Greg met with Fred and George, pleased to be given such a responsibility. Even after the last few years being included in the group, it was still quite nice to be trusted with important tasks and appreciated for their efforts. Fred and George hadn't even questioned their presence and greeted them politely before leading the way to the workroom at the back of their shop.
The twins proudly displayed the collection of products that they'd developed for the Wolves. Vince and Greg were suitably impressed as each item was explained. At the end of their little presentation, Fred handed Greg a package with instructions to give it to Draco.
Hermione spent a lot of time with Narcissa. They left the house for long periods of time while the others were busy with their various tasks, returning in time for dinner. Finally, just before the start of summer, they decided to let the others in on their secret.
Harry and Draco exchanged curious looks as Narcissa presented them with a frying pan. Realizing it was a portkey, they grabbed hold of it. The other wolves, Sirius and Remus grabbed it as well, eager to see what Narcissa and Hermione had been up to.
A few moments later, they were all steadying each other after a particularly jarring journey. Draco stilled, his gaze settling on the building nearby..
They were in front of a lovely two-story house. It was made with sturdy gray stone walls and tidy white shutters.
"What-"
"Minerva and I spent a great deal of time looking for a safe place for you," Narcissa said, looking between Harry and Draco. "It quickly became obvious that your pack would expand and that you'd need a headquarters of sorts. Somehow, this place felt right," she said, turning her gaze to the house. "We had this place repaired before adding a good number of wards. Hermione and I just finished making it... livable."
"You got us a house?" Harry asked, shocked and bewildered.
"Well, Draco is of age now," Narcissa began, smiling lovingly at her son before looking back at Harry. "And you'll be seventeen in a matter of days, Harry dear." She paused, uncharacteristically emotional. "I wanted you to have your own space and room to create your own headquarters. Of course, that's with the understanding that you can always return home to your parents." She opened her arms and pulled Harry and Draco into her embrace.
"We have a house," Harry said faintly as he pulled away from the hug.
"We have a house," Draco echoed, a smile spreading over his face before he launched himself at Harry with a delighted laugh. It was the happiest that Harry had seen him since they'd left school.
"It's a beautiful home," Remus murmured, leaning heavily against Sirius. He sighed softly. "I'm not ready for them to be so grown up."
"They're still our boys," Sirius responded, pressing a kiss to Remus' temple.
Hearing the comment, Draco turned to look at them fondly. "Always," he asserted while Harry grinned and nodded.
Narcissa was pleased to give a tour of the house, showing off the tasteful furnishings. Draco took it all in, admiring his mother's tastes. It wasn't as big or lavish as Malfoy Manor, but the house was lovely and comfortable. The only problem was, though it was a decently sized house with five bedrooms, it didn't seem particularly useful for a headquarters.
Harry seemed to be having similar thoughts, frowning thoughtfully at the glossy new dining room table. There was plenty of room to have guests over for dinner but they weren't settling down for the domestic life just yet.
Ron had no qualms about voicing his concerns out loud. "It's not what I had in mind for a headquarters," he commented bluntly.
Narcissa smiled. "Well then, perhaps Hermione would lead the way to the war room," she said.
"War room?" Greg asked, perking up. "That sounds-"
"Promising," Blaise put in helpfully, following Hermione.
Hermione led the way to a small comfortable sitting room. She marched straight over to one of the tall bookshelves. Among the books were various decor items, including a small pair of wolf statuettes. Hermione gently brushed one hand over the back of one stone wolf. She repeated the gentle gesture to the other wolf, satisfied when both stone wolves tipped their heads back in silent twin howls. And then the entire bookshelf slowly swung open like a heavy door on a hinge.
"Bloody brilliant," Ron breathed, eyes wide in amazement. "It's a hidden staircase!"
They were now looking at a set of stairs that descended into a lit room. Excited and unbearably curious, the group followed Hermione down. They immediately spotted Minerva, levitating books to arrange themselves neatly on a shelf.
The underground bunker had a large open room that would be perfect for meetings. There was a large table that held a number of scrolls and several chairs surrounding it. Through one doorway they could see a large dining area. Another open door revealed a storage room.
"Down this hallway, you'll find rooms with beds," Narcissa explained, gesturing to the hallway helpfully. "If any of your pack members need somewhere to go, there is room."
"This bunker is well warded," Minerva said. "It will be safe for you to return here when you need to."
"It's amazing," Vince remarked, looking around at their new headquarters. He looked back at his friends with a frown. "This all feels a little too real now," he admitted.
Vince and Greg had never returned to their families once they'd left Hogwarts with the others. It had been a relief to no longer hide their true allegiance, but it came with the pain of walking away from their families. They hadn't said a word about the pain they felt, but their friends knew.
"We'll be together through all of this," Ron said, clasping Vince's shoulder firmly. "This is our family, and war won't change that."
Blaise smiled at Ron's show of sensitivity and support. The warmth of affection was becoming less painful, but some moments sent a flare of longing through Blaise. He did his best to shake it off as he draped one arm over Greg's shoulder. "I always wanted brothers," he said, giving Greg a light squeeze. "And a sister," he added for Hermione's benefit.
"This is- This-" Harry shook his head, keeping his arms around Draco. "It's wonderful. We have a safehouse, headquarters-"
"A home," Draco murmured turning his head to meet Harry's eyes. "Our home."
Their lips met in a tender kiss, briefly ignoring the others. Until Ron made loud gagging noises while Sirius and Remus snickered.
Undeterred, Draco broke the kiss to meet Harry's adoring gaze again. "You promised to give me your name," he whispered. "Remember? After that confrontation with my father... You said that you'd give me your name if it would make me happy. You still planning to do that?" he asked, his fingers curling into Harry's shirt.
Harry blushed, his eyes flickering briefly to the stunned faces of the others in the room. "Is that what you want?" he asked, focusing on his boyfriend.
"Of course," Draco replied softly.
The parental figures in the room shared a startled look.
"Okay, let's slow this down a bit," Ron blurted out with wide eyes. "It's mental to talk about marriage right now." The other Betas were swift to agree with him.
Draco whirled around and glared at Ron, silencing his argument. The others lowered their heads submissively. "I did not ask for, nor do I require, your permission," Draco stated firmly. "This is between Harry and I. We are soul mates. We are going to be together." He quieted when Harry's arms slid around his waist.
Ron sighed but nodded. "Of course Alpha," he said quietly. "Sorry. I will support you of course. We all will. I'm just worried about you," he added.
Draco nodded, his body relaxing. "Sorry," he murmured guiltily. "I just-"
"It's fine Draco," Ron assured him.
"Let's move on for now," Harry suggested, kissing Draco's cheek. He looked over at Minerva and Narcissa. "What else can you tell us about our new headquarters?"
In a vain attempt to set thoughts of the war aside, Harry and Draco went back to the house they shared with Sirius, Remus, Minerva and Narcissa. The new house was nearly completely prepared and Snape was going to be going over to inspect the wards. Harry's birthday was a convenient way to pass the time.
"Happy Birthday Harry," Sirius said as Remus placed a small wrapped package on the table.
Harry set his fork down and pushed aside his breakfast to unwrap the gift. Inside the box was a watch. It was obviously not new, but it was expensive and had clearly been well cared for.
"That belonged to your Dad," Sirius told him with a tight little smile. "Thought you might enjoy wearing it."
"I love it," Harry assured him, smiling fondly as Draco helpfully put the watch on his wrist.
"You've got more presents coming," Remus said quietly. "We just thought we'd give you that before everyone comes over."
"I don't need anything," Harry insisted. "I'm just happy to spend the day with you. But, thank you," he added, letting his fingers drift lightly over the glossy face of the watch.
Harry hadn't really wanted to celebrate his birthday at all. His heart was heavy with the weight of the stack of mournful letters he and Draco had received from the Pups. The Deltas had treated them well and loved them. But the absence of the Alphas and Betas had been difficult for all of the wolves. The start of the summer break just left the pups without any of their pack leaders.
Harry had consented to the party in the hopes that it would cheer Draco up. The blond wouldn't admit it, but he'd cried in his sleep most nights since their departure from the school. His bond with the pups was even more profound than Harry's, and the loss seemed to weigh on his mind and slow his steps.
Harry gave himself a mental shake and drew Draco closer to his side. "Today will be great," Harry said, kissing Draco's temple.
Draco's smile came a little easier than it had in a few months. "It will," he agreed. "Mrs. Weasley is bringing cake."
"Good morning my darlings," Narcissa said, entering the room gracefully. "Happy birthday my sweet Harry." She cupped Harry's face gently and kissed his forehead. She offered a kiss to Draco as well, her fingers trailing lovingly down one pale cheek. She turned to Sirius and Remus. "Is everything ready?"
"Of course," Remus nodded, offering her a grateful smile. Narcissa had become one of his dearest friends, and he loved that she offered Harry the same tenderness that she gave her own son. For Remus, there were never to many people to love his Harry. "You and Molly planned to the last detail. I'm sure it'll be perfect."
"Anything less would be unacceptable," Narcissa responded with a dignified little sniff.
"It's really not necessary," Harry protested, sighing when she waved away his objections.
"Coming of age is a momentous occasion," Remus reminded him with a grin. "It's something to be celebrated."
Harry relented, leaning into Draco. He might as well allow his family to make a fuss. All to soon he'd be running off to finish finding the horcruxes and he knew that the thought was painful for Sirius, Remus and Minerva. Narcissa was clearly struggling with the notion as well. So for now, Harry would focus on his loved ones and happily delay thoughts of their separation.
"Come on," Draco said, urging Harry to his feet.
Harry allowed himself to be guided down the hall and up the stairs to his bedroom. He and Draco had long since given up attempting to sleep in different rooms. Draco had his own room where he kept his own things, but each night he preferred to curl into Harry's side. Harry smiled slightly when he contemplated moving Draco into his room completely.
His thoughts sputtered to a halt when his back thumped against a wall. He blinked, staring at Draco in surprise. "What are you doing?" he gasped.
"Well, I thought of a way for us to celebrate privately," Draco said, pressing his body against Harry's. He rolled his hips a little, drawing a choking sound from Harry.
Aside from heavy snogging and a bit of wandering hands, Harry and Draco had not been intimate. They hadn't wanted to rush into such an important step and attempting a sexual encounter with a dog animagus and a werewolf in the house seemed like a bad idea.
"You want... But-"
Draco interrupted Harry's flustered sputtering with a tender kiss. "We're both of age now," he reminded Harry. "I think this is a good time to take a new step in our relationship. Please Harry?" he asked sweetly. "I want you so badly."
Harry groaned softly and twisted them around to pin Draco against the wall instead. He pressed close, kissing Draco's lips slowly, savoring the sensation. His hands moved to grasp Draco's hips, squeezing lightly as his tongue swept into a warm inviting mouth.
Draco draped his arms over Harry's shoulders, moaning quietly as their groins pressed together pleasantly. "Go close the door," he panted into Harry's mouth.
Harry hummed in agreement but, before he was able to act on it, they heard a startled gasp. The couple jerked their heads toward the doorway to find Lucius Malfoy staring at them in horrified shock.
Narcissa, Remus and Sirius stood just behind him, looking both surprised and amused. "We have doors for a reason," Remus teased.
"We- I was going to- Er..." Harry fell silent, his cheeks flushing with embarrassment.
"This-" Lucius huffed, anger warring with mortification. "How did this-"
"Is anyone going to be using complete sentences, or-" Sirius cut himself off and snorted a laugh when Remus poked him in the stomach.
Harry groaned and shifted, putting a bit of space between himself and Draco. So much for taking the next step in their relationship. Nothing like getting caught by your boyfriend's father that hates you to dampen the mood.
Annoyed, Draco remained leaning against the wall, his lips pulled into a little pout. "Father, what are you doing here?" he asked with a sigh.
"I had hoped to speak with my son," Lucius responded with as much dignity as he could muster. "I did not anticipate walking in on you being molested by this uncultured heathen."
"Hey, that's my uncultured heathen," Draco retorted, disregarding the mildly offended sound that Harry made. "And it's none of your business if he chooses to have his way with me. Besides, I initiated this encounter," he added, completely unapologetic. Harry face-palmed with a quiet groan.
"Merlin help me," Narcissa muttered while Lucius sputtered indignantly. Sirius offered a thumbs up which made Remus snort.
Lucius opened his mouth to snarl out his unwanted opinion, but he stopped himself at Harry's warning look. He huffed impatiently. "I came to see my son," Lucius said, with a forced calm. "We..." He cleared his throat. "We haven't spoken recently."
Draco bit back his urge to pout again. He'd finally worked up the nerve to initiate an intimate encounter, only to have four out of five parental figures barge into the room. And, his father had finally decided that it was time for talk. "Alright Father," Draco said reluctantly. He turned and pressed a kiss to Harry's mouth.
The others watched as Draco proceeded to whisper briefly in Harry's ear. Harry turned an impressive shade of red.
Draco led his father from the room, leaving Harry under the curious gaze of Sirius, Remus and Narcissa. "What did he say?" Sirius asked.
"I wouldn't dare repeat it," Harry responded, rubbing the back of his neck awkwardly.
Narcissa heaved a put upon sigh. "Harry dear, why don't you get ready for the party?" she suggested, pretending to ignore his flustered state. She turned and shooed the two other men out of the room.
"Do you think they were-"
"Sirius, let's not discuss our son's sex life," Remus said with a cringe.
"Please," Narcissa agreed emphatically.
"Fine," Sirius huffed teasingly.
As it turned out, Lucius was willing to make an attempt at being supportive. It didn't take a genius to recognize the love between Harry and Draco. The pair was unwilling to be separated, and Lucius was clever enough to recognize the potential danger to his health should he attempt to interfere.
As much as the match bothered Lucius, he wasn't prepared to push his son away. He'd simply have to accept that Harry was part of Draco's life and do what he could to keep his family safe.
"Mr. Potter treats you well?" Lucius asked awkwardly as they prepared to rejoin the others.
"He treats me very well," Draco replied quietly, looking down at his hands. "I'm fairly certain that he's better than I deserve."
Lucius frowned, eyeing his son with concern. "Why would you say that? Has that boy-"
"Harry is the best person I know," Draco stated, cutting his father off. "There is so much love and loyalty inside him. Without him, I'd just be a spoilt, rich wizard on my way to becoming a Death Eater." He paused, meeting his father's gaze solemnly. "He is everything to me."
"Then you do deserve him," Lucius commented, amused by Draco's surprise. "You've grown to be an impressive young man, with little to no help from me."
"Thank you Father," Draco murmured.
They both cleared their throats, unaccustomed to heartfelt conversations between them. It was pleasant enough, but more comfortable in small doses. It got a bit awkward after a short time.
"Your friends Crabbe and Goyle are being hunted after," Lucius said as they moved toward the dining room together. "They must not return to their parents' homes. The Dark Lord is... displeased."
"We appreciate the warning," Draco nodded. "I couldn't stand to leave them at school to finish out the year. They would have been heartbroken if we left them behind."
Lucius nodded slowly, though he still didn't fully understand Draco's relationship with his friends. Something about their dynamic was very strange, though he couldn't quite fathom what it was.
In the kitchen, they found Mrs. Weasley fussing over Harry. Harry endured her coddling patiently, smiling sweetly as she smoothed his hair down. His face brightened further when he noticed Draco.
"Alright, go on outside," Molly said, giving Harry a gentle push toward the door. "There's a surprise waiting for you."
Harry grasped Draco's hand and led the way outside. Molly offered Lucius a hesitant smile before motioning for him to join them outside.
Draco cried out ecstatically when five of the pups came running toward them. He and Harry gathered the youngest wolves close, allowing themselves to be pulled into a pile on the grass. Among the other party guests were several of the older wolves.
"Alphas!" one of the pups squealed excitedly.
Draco lifted his head, watery grey eyes seeking out the wolves. "How did you manage this?" he asked, his voice rough with emotion.
"I just wish we could have brought them all," Neville said, grinning. "Some of us went around and collected anyone that would be safe to bring. I'm sorry that we couldn't bring any of the little Slytherins," he added remorsefully. "They did send letters though." He motioned to an impressive stack of letters and cards that Blaise was holding.
Harry helped Draco to his feet, smiling when the pups seemed reluctant to back away. "Come on you lot," Harry said fondly. "Let's get you feed so you can have cake after."
Molly had provided a lot of food for the party. Surprisingly, Ron had helped her with most of it. All of Harry's favorite foods were set out in abundance. Narcissa moved among the party guests, serving drinks and being charming in general. Even Dumbledore was there, resting comfortably in a well cushioned chair while Minerva and Remus fussed over him. There was music, laughter and chatter.
Several members of the Order had shown up to celebrate with Harry. They seemed pleased to enjoy a bit of normalcy and forget the war for just a little while. Kingsley Shacklebolt and Alastor Moody looked a bit odd sipping lemonade while watching George Weasley flirt outrageously with Minerva.
Harry treasured every moment of his birthday party. He felt as if the last flickering flames of his hectic childhood were turning to embers swiftly. A life of heavy responsibility and the threat of death stretched out before him. Harry wanted to push all that away and shy away from adulthood.
Draco's laughter drew Harry's eye. The blond was talking to Sirius and chuckling over what the older animagus was saying. It brought a fond smile to Harry's lips. In spite of the looming struggles, he had a life with Draco to look forward to. They could get through anything together.
That evening, the party guests left and Lucius reluctantly returned to Malfoy Manor. Blaise, Greg and Vince were staying at the Burrow with the Weasleys since the twins no long lived there. Harry's parents and Narcissa had turned in for the night, leaving Draco and Harry to head to bed themselves.
Draco caught hold of Harry's wrist, leading the way to Harry's bedroom. He bit his lower lip in a fit of bashfulness that conflicted with the boldness of pulling Harry onto the bed with him. His breath caught in his throat as Harry hovered over him.
"We have a wedding to attend tomorrow," Harry said quietly, slightly breathless.
"What's your point?" Draco asked, slipping his hands under Harry's shirt to run his fingertips over warm bare skin.
"I'm not sure we should... Er- Maybe we shouldn't be overly ambitious tonight," Harry suggested nervously.
"I don't think that me being a little sore is going to ruin Bill's wedding," Draco scoffed.
Harry groaned and pressed his blushing face into Draco's neck. "You can't just say that!" Harry protested, flustered.
"Well, I just did," Draco retorted smugly. He slid on hand down to cup Harry's groin. "What are you going to do about it?"
Harry moaned softly, rolling his hips against Draco's palm. Deciding that there was no use in arguing, Harry sat up on his knees and reached down to open Draco's belt and trousers. He grinned when Draco eagerly brought his hands up to return the favor.
Clothes were hastily shed and soon the pair was completely bared to one another for the first time. Trembling fingers reached out to caress and pull each other close. There was no denying that they were both very nervous.
Harry was gentle and exceedingly careful as he lovingly worshiped Draco's body. It was, admittedly, messy and awkward. But no part of the blond's naked form went unattended. Harry spent so long preparing Draco that Draco begged him to get on with it.
Making love was beyond anything Harry could have anticipated. It was overwhelming pleasure combined with the unique sensation of their souls meeting. Harry was aware the Draco was experiencing some discomfort, but seemed to be enjoying it a great deal anyway.
Harry was unable to last very long. His orgasm was startlingly good and it had been a struggle to pull himself together enough to continue to give Draco pleasure. Gathering his wits, he kissed Draco deeply as he slid his hand down between them.
Draco's back arched off the bed as he climaxed, his hands gripping Harry's back tightly. He kept his eyes closed, focusing on his soul's connection to Harry. Harry's soul was a beautiful as ever; Warm, bright and familiar.
Harry held himself up over Draco, panting. Once he'd caught his breath, he carefully pulled out and sat up a little. He carded his fingers through Draco's hair. "Are you okay?" he asked quietly.
Draco favored him with a dazzling smile. "That was brilliant," he responded fervently. "I'm going to be sore, but it was completely worth it." He wrapped one around the back of Harry's neck, pulling his boyfriend close for a kiss.
Harry hummed into the kiss before pulling away and standing up. "Hold on," he whispered. "I'll get you cleaned up."
A spell would clean up the mess reasonably well. But, Harry rather wanted to be a bit more thorough and he liked the idea of taking care of Draco without magic. He pulled on a pair of sweatpants and stepped into the hall quietly.
And promptly ran right into Sirius.
"Oh! Hey pup!" Sirius said cheerfully. "Lovely night. Here. You'll want this."
Harry was mortified when Sirius handed him a warm damp flannel with a knowing smirk. "Er-"
"Might want to take this too," Sirius added, handing over a small jar of salve. "It'll help with any soreness and Remus said that it's safe for sensitive areas."
Harry made a sound that was an embarrassing mix between a wheeze and a whimper.
"Leave him the hell alone Sirius!" Remus shouted down the hall.
"Good night pup!" Sirius clapped Harry on the back before marching off down the hall. He only got two steps away before bursting into raucous laughter. He only laughed harder when Harry ran back into his bedroom and slammed the door.
