"More importantly, it is indeed a sad life that has never breathed deep into this sweet, proliferous bouquet that is Tortuga, savvy?" Jack stated, clearing a path for them to walk through the dark night of Tortuga. Behind him, Arabella was beside Will completely engrossed with the condition of the island . A look of curiosity formed on her face and she glanced over at Will who held a look of disgust in his eye. There were prostitutes on every alley corner and brawls playing out in the dirt road. Pirates were drinking rum and some were passed out from the drink. She definitely thought it was interesting to see people live like this. She suddenly felt quite fond of it. "What do you think?" The captain valued the auburn haired woman's opinion slightly more.

"It'll linger." I heard Will mutter.

"I like it." I whispered.

"I tell you mate-" A scarlet haired woman's head snapped around at the sound of Jack's voice. She caught sight of him and pursed her lips glaring daggers into the salty sea captain's very soul. "-no man would ever feel unwanted."

"Oh you're about to feel very wanted."

"What luv?" he looked back unsuspecting, and slightly...hopeful at me, as she began suturing over.

"Trouble incoming and fast. Hell hath no fury such as a woman scorned." I smiled widely. He turned his head back to the brothel maid.

"Scarlet!" he met her halfway and received a loud quick slap! "Not sure I deserve that." The force of it had him facing us.

"Oooooo. Here comes a blonde here comes a blonde." I grabbed Will's arm and squealed with excitement.

"Giselle!" Giselle gave him a scathing look.

" 'Oo was she?" she nodded back to Scarlet.

"What?" Jack asked

"And who is she?" she nodded back to me and I gave her a kind smile and a little wave. Will wrapped his arm around me in protection. Jack looked back at me.

"Hmm?" The blonde pulled his eyes back to her by his chin.

"And what is that?!" she dug the pad of her finger into the bruise I caused on his neck.

"You see that's a very funny sto-" WAAP!

"I may have deserved that." Jack said, shaking his head. I winced.

"I think two thirds of that was my fault."

There was a dirty man laying with pigs in the mud.

Sssspppplshhhhhh "Curse you for breathing you slack jawed idiot ...Mother's love Jack."

"This is the man we need, Pigman?" I asked.

"You should know better than to wake a man when he's sleeping Jack. It's bad luck."

"Ah. Fortunately I know how to counter it; the man who did the waking buys the man who did the sleeping a drink, the man who did the sleeping drinks it while listening to a proposition from the man who did the waking."

"Did you catch any of that?" Will whispered. Pigman looked confused as well. He seemed to be thinking for a bit.

"Aye that'll about do it." He muttered. Jack helped him to his feet. Will tossed another bucket of water on him.

"Blast! I'm already awake!" He yelled.

"You smell funny." I taunted, the man shrugged in agreement. I smiled at him and he smiled back

"Alright then," Jack stepped in front of him as he began to introduce himself, "to The Bride." he held out his hands in an 'after you motion'. As we walked he leaned to whisper to me, "Blubbering drunker. The least wild untamable man you will ever find on the seas."

"What was that?" Will asked.

"Don't fret over it." I laughed. Jack guided me into a building, full of more wonderful eccentric souls.

I sat on the grimy bed, pissed. Will insisted the moment we set foot in the pub that I be rushed off out of harm's way. Jack stole some coin from somewhere and bought lounging for the night. There was a knock at my door and somewhere down deep I wished it was the captain. He was a breath of fresh air in my dreary life. I swung the door open hurriedly and Will stepped in.

"What are you doing?!" he asked sternly.

"You knocked, I answered the door!" I countered. He was seeming less and less like my friend and more like another man attempting to control me.

"I could've been anyone of those filthy pirates you should have asked who was there before unlocking the door." He leaned against said door grumpily, "Or even worse, Sparrow."

"Captain Sparrow is not so bad."

"You shouldn't trust him, you are so naïve you should've never come. You should've stayed home, at Port Royal like I told you too."

"Excuse me?"

"Well now I have to watch over you as well. I had enough on my hands as is."

"I can assure you Mr. Turner I am very capable of caring for myself." I sat back heavily on the bed crossing my arms. "You may leave now. I grew tired of our talk."

"Bella you must understand-" I laid down turning my back to him, the door slammed. After a moment I felt a hand on my waist. I turned quickly, moving to swat Will away.

"Twice in a night was good enough for me, love." Jack caught my wrist

"Only twice Captain, I think that makes for a rather boring night." I teased. Sparrow's eyes brightened and he smirked rather proudly.

"Love, if we are talking in that aspect it is far far more than twice." He began pulling off his effects and I sat up in the bed.

"Captain?" I started to move back away from the edge. He looked absolutely hurt.

"Pass me a pillow, love?" He asked, sliding off his coat. I handed him a pillow and he settled against the door.

"I'm not going to hurt you, darling. Quite a few not so honest men saw and heard you come up to this room on your lonesome, savvy?" He explained, I nodded.

"I savvy, Captain." I settled back down, watching the candle light dance across his face. He had his head leaned back against the door, eyes closed. He truly was a handsome man, "Is it true what they say. The stories, a lady in every port." I stuttered out. He smirked his chocolate eyes still tightly closed.

"Maybe not every port. Most ports." He mumbled cockily, "haven't got one in Port Royal yet." I smiled at him.

"Captain?"

"Darling?"

"You won't get any sleep down there. You're the only man to captain the ship." I lifted the edge of the blanket. His eyes opened suddenly.

"Arabella?"

"I won't bite, again."

"I might."

"It wouldn't be so terrible." He rose slowly, toeing off his boots and setting them close to the bed before slipping under the sheet. I closed my eyes so as not to have to keep staring at his very close clothed chest. His fingers lifted my chin and I gulped. There was a sharp pain at the corner of my jaw then Sparrow turned away from me quickly. My eyes widened as I felt the warm, sore spot.

"Jack!" I gasped.

"Revenge, love." I could hear his smirk. I shoved him lightly then turned my back to him.

"Good night Jack." I sighed.

"Night Bella."
