The camera, which is located just above the entrance to the house, turned on and immediately started showing a feedback from it. There, in front of the main doors, two people known better as Chris McLean and Chef Hatchet were standing. They looked really impatient and annoyed by the fact that nobody was answering to their constant knocking on the doors.
-Quick reminder, which time exactly were we supposed to meet with Matt?- Chef asked Chris, with a tiny bit of annoyance in his voice.
-1 pm. And it's 1:30.- Chris replied, also looking extremely annoyed.- How could he forget about us that easily?! How could he forget about ME?!- Chris bursted out in anger.
-Relax, you attention sucker.- Chef commented on Chris' attitude.- Anyway, why is there a camera above us?- Chef asked the next question that had been going through his head at the time.
-Oh, this one?- Chris asked as he pointed at the camera that was showing the feedback.- Matt's mother installed them when he was in elementary school. She was really paranoid from what I've heard from Matt.- Chris explained to Chef.
-Yeah, sounds crazy.- Chef commented. After that Chris continued knocking on the doors, much to his annoyance.
-He better have a good explanation for him being late or else...- Chris commented and continued knocking.
-I'm coming!- The voice from inside suddenly yelled and after a second, Matt dressed only in black sweatpants and gray short-sleeved t-shirt with completely messy hair and looking really tired, opened the doors for Chris and Chef.
-Dude, what happened to you?- Chris asked.
-I had a really difficult night. Please don't comment.- Matt replied while Chris and Chef entered the anteroom.- Let's just go to my office.- Matt exclaimed after shutting the doors. Then he left the anteroom while Chef and Chris followed him to the office.
They then entered the office. Inside there were a few things. A desk in the corner of the room with a laptop, printer and two speakers placed on it. In the other corner, more to the left, was a rather old-looking TV, standing on top of the wooden bedside table, and a DVD player laying on the floor nearby. Between the two corners was a big window that was currently hidden behind the blinds. On the opposite side of the room on the other hand, except for a few shelves with various books that were neatly placed on them, was also a small couch with a navy blue blanket left on it.
-Sorry for the mess.- Matt said while yawning.- I kinda overslept.- Matt added after a second while scratching his head.
-Kinda?- Chris asked, looking quite annoyed.- It's half past one, dude!
-Whoa! It's that late? Oh my god! Sorry that I kept you waiting. I shouldn't have left the blinds down for the night after all.- Matt apologized to the hosts, looking really guilty.
-Wait, you slept here?- Chris asked while Chef picked up a half-empty bottle of wine from the bedside table, next to bed, and pointed to one entirely empty one, that was lying on the floor.
-I may have drunk half-a-bottle too much last night.- Matt commented and then laughed awkwardly.
-What were you doing last night, dude?- Chris asked his friend.
-What?! It's not my fault that the new season of my favorite anime had to come out yesterday.- Matt defended himself.- What is my fault is the fact that I binge-watched the entire season in a span of 10 hours while drinking wine, eating ice cream and crying over my unsuccessful love life.- Matt said while Chris and Chef just looked at him with actual concern in their eyes.
-Let me guess then. You were watching a romance?- Chris sighed and asked his question.
-Maaaaaaaaybe….- Matt nervously answered and looked away.
-I won't comment any further but once we're done with this whole accepting castmates stuff, you have to go on some double dates with me.- Chris commented while Matt groaned.
-Fine….- Matt replied with a frown on his face.
-That's the spirit.- Chris replied with a smirk.
-So, um...Why don't you look through some of those files with potential competitors while I'll go and dress properly?- Matt suggested nervously to both hosts who just nodded in response.- Thanks.- Matt replied and waved his hand before he left the room.
Several minutes have passed since Matt left, in which both Chris and Chef were looking through the contestants' files without saying a single word when suddenly Chris finally broke the silence.
-Soooo...Got anyone interesting?- Chris asked, curious about the possible good competitors.
-Nah, they're all boring for me.- Chef replied with a grunt.
-Well, you're kinda right.- Chris said back.
Some more time passed when suddenly Matt entered the room, wearing a short-sleeved, navy blue button-up-shirt, brown shorts and red sneakers.
-How the cast picking is going?- Matt asked cheerfully as he waved to both Chris and Chef.
-Well, I have this one interesting girl.- Chris said.- I've been looking through her app for a few minutes and she seems like a great addition!- Chris said with excitement.
-Let me take a look.- Matt said as Chris handed the file to him.
-One more mean girl?- Matt asked, sounding really surprised.- I thought that we had enough of them.
-Yeah but we don't have any as interesting and mean as Colleen Russell!- Chris pointed out.
-What about Kylie?- Matt asked.
-Look, just because both of them don't like slackers doesn't already mean that they are the exact same person!- Chris pointed out to Matt with annoyance in his voice.- They have different motivations, different personalities and different likes and strengths! They just act similar towards the same group of people. In most situations.- Chris explained his reasonings behind his choice.
-Wow, defending much?- Matt said with sarcasm in his voice and with a roll of the eyes.
-Say what you want! She's still in.- Chris said confidently.
-Ugh! Fine...- Matt groaned in annoyance and then yawned, still a little bit tired, when he suddenly noticed something weird.- Um...What is Chef doing?- Matt asked as both him and Chris looked at Chef who was currently looking at one of the files with dreamy eyes, as if he just fallen in love with someone.
-Ummm...Chef?- Chris asked, looking a little bit concerned about his state.
-What? The kid's hot.- Chef replied and shrugged.
-That explains a lot.- Matt commented.- You found Justin's file, didn't you?- Matt asked.
-Who's this Justin kid?- Chris asked.
-He's a teen model from Hawaii.- Matt replied.- The producers fell in love with him as soon as he submitted his app.- Matt explained further.
-Let me guess, we're accepting him purely because of his looks?- Chris asked.
-Yeah, exactly.- Matt replied.
-Works for me.- Chris said with a shrug.
-He better not be just some pretty boy who thinks that good looks will take him everywhere.- Matt commented after a moment.
-Since when do you have something against hot people?- Chris asked, his mind filled with curiosity.
-Since I've met the son of that one Spanish ambassador. He literally drove me crazy. Good thing that he didn't apply to the show.- Matt commented and after that, he took his laptop, sat down on his couch and opened the laptop to turn it on.- Anyway, I've prepared some challenge ideas proposed by the producers for you to see.- Matt announced.
-Nice!- Chris said.- I'm already excited about it!
-Before we do that though.- Chef interrupted them.- Can we talk about this boy that I have found?- Chef asked others.
-Ugh...Not now Chef, don't you see that it was about to get less boring?- Chris asked, sounding annoyed by that interruption.
-Who is it, Chef?- Matt asked.
-A total loser! Pipsqueak! Not to mention that he was homeschooled his entire life and his parents are some crazy prairie people!- Chef explained.- I...I mean we could have a lot of fun with him.- Chef said and then chuckled a little bit.
-What's his name?- Matt asked.
-His name is Ezekiel.- Chef replied with a smirk on his face.
-Well, if you really want him.- Matt said as he shrugged.- But just promise that you won't torture him or something.
-You have my word.- Chef replied.
-Good. Where were we? Oh, right! The challenges!- Matt reminded himself and then started to search for something in his laptop.
-Please tell me that they accepted my concept!- Chris said with excitement.
-Unfortunately...yes...- Matt replied with a disappointed look on his face.
-YES! I knew that they would appreciate my genius!- Chris said cockily.
-Umm...But what kind of a challenge is it?- Chef asked, not understanding the reason behind Chris' happiness.
-We're gonna start off with something big!- Chris announced.- A jump from a 1,000 foot cliff into the tiny safe zone surrounded by man-eating sharks!- Chris exclaimed in full excitement while both Chef and Matt looked at him with concern on their faces.- What?
-Nothing. Except for the fact that we lost five interns alone just by testing that challenge. Due to that we will have to hire some new ones.- Matt explained the situation to Chris.
-Wow, because it's such a big deal choosing interns.- Chris commented and then picked five random files from the apps.
-Chris, what are you doing?- Matt asked, not understanding what Chris was doing.
-Here.- Chris said and handed the five random-picked apps to Matt.- Here you have our five replacements.
-But you do realize that they applied to be contestants, not interns, right?- Matt asked Chris.
-So what? Life's not fair in this business!- Chris replied and shrugged.
-I will take a look at them later.- Matt sighed.- Anyway, the next challenge idea that I suggested after Chris suggested it to me is the Phobia Factor! Everyone would have to face their own fears.- Matt explained the next challenge.
-Sounds interesting and...fearsome.- Chef commented with a chuckle.
-Totally, I already have the perfect one prepared for that Josh kid. Three words: Knives flying EVERYWHERE!- Chris yelled in a really creepy voice, this time creeping out both Matt and Chef.
-Ummm...right.- Matt said and looked away for a moment.- The next challenge is an easy cooking challenge with three-course-meals. With you as judges.- Matt explained the next possible challenge.
-Hmm...Now that is my field of work- Chef commented with a smile. Though they better not be doing it in my kitchen.
-We'll come up with something regarding this.- Matt replied to Chef.- Anyway, what do we have next? Oh, the classic game of dodgeball. Either of you can be a referee.- Matt revealed the next idea to the hosts.
-Ah, classic.- Chef commented with a smile.
-Yeah, but also boring.- Chris said, not really moved by the idea.- Do you have something more dangerous?
-Well some of the producers proposed the unattended game of paintball.- Matt replied while scratching the back of his head.
-Now that's interesting!- Chris replied.
-Can I have a suggestion for a challenge?- Chef asked.
-Well, you are the co-host so I don't see anything against it.- Matt said back.
-As I mentioned before, I served in the military so I thought that we could do a few challenges that would focus around the theme.- Chef suggested his idea to Matt.
-Hmmm...It doesn't sound that bad.- Matt murmured to himself as he placed his hand on his chin.- Fine. I'll propose the idea to other producers at our next meeting.- Matt said out loud.
-Thanks. It means a lot to me. I will make men out of these maggots.- Chef announced with a smirk on his face, making Matt sigh once more.
-Ugh...what about the talent contest?- Matt asked the hosts.
-Yes! Those are my favorites!- Chris announced happily.
-I'm happy to hear that.- Matt replied.- We were also planning on doing some challenges based on canoeing to the nearby island, located really close to Wawanakwa island.- Matt explained the next idea.
-And?- Chris asked.
-Well, that's it. We're still coming up with ideas for this particular challenge.- Matt replied nervously while Chris rolled his eyes.
-Why do you want to show us the challenges if they aren't done yet?- Chris asked after a moment.
-Relax, Chris. Each challenge must be done perfectly. We make sure that nobody would die during the filming and that everything will be 100% safe. Not to mention that we have an entire month before the show starts anyway.- Matt explained further to Chris.
-I know that but it doesn't change the fact that you wanted this entire meeting in the first place.- Chris pointed out to his friend.
-This doesn't matter!- Matt yelled back and then blushed.- Sorry for yelling...anyway next challenge is Awake-athon.- Matt revealed the next one.
-Awake-awhat?- Chris asked, filled with confusion.
-Basically who stays awake the longest wins.- Matt replied.
-Sounds like a good merge challenge.- Chef commented with a smile.
-Actually it's a pre-merge challenge.- Matt corrected Chef.
-Wait. Really?- Chef asked as he raised his eyebrow.
-Yes. The team with the last person standing wins. And also to make it harder, we will make it easier for them to fall asleep. I'm talking: turkey meat, fairytales and many more.- Matt explained the challenge idea further.
-Now it makes a lot more sense.- Chris replied.
-That's all for now. I will inform you about the next challenges when I get them.- Matt informed the hosts.
-Already? But it was, like, only eight challenges. Not to mention that none of them is a merge one.- Chris pointed out to Matt.
-I can't reveal more because the producers are still in the process of creating some. They are rather lazy when it comes to it.- Matt commented with a frown on his face.
-Damn those producers.- Chris cursed after a second.
-Now, that we're past the challenges...maybe we could return to accepting the cast?- Matt suggested to others as he closed his laptop and put it away.
-Ugh...fine!- Chris groaned in annoyance.- We already accepted 15 people so only a few are left anyway.
-9 to be more precise.- Matt commented.- 3 more today and another 6 on the other day, I think...- Matt proposed to both hosts.
-Oh, right, you wanted to go somewhere today, didn't you?- Chris asked.
-I did. I was thinking that we could go to the movies or something...Or maybe even to some amusement park!- Matt said with excitement all over his face.
-That could be fun, what do you think Chef?- Chris asked his friend.
-Works for me.- Chef replied with a smile.
-Now that that's settled, let's continue our work!- Matt exclaimed happily.- I'm curious what interesting personas we will see when we look through these files!- Matt added with pure excitement and started looking through various files all at once.
Chris and Chef were then about to grab the next few files when suddenly Matt yelled loudly and interrupted them.
-OH EM GEE!- Matt yelled, sounding more excited than ever before.- I found us a perfect protagonist!- Matt exclaimed as he practically shoved the file he was holding onto Chris' face.
-Huh?- Chris asked as he took the file from Matt's hands.- Marty Jacobson? What's so special about him?- Chris asked, not understanding where Matt's excitement was coming from.
-Look at his photo!- Matt yelled while Chris looked at the photo of the lightly tanned boy with forest green glasses, over his circular, light purple eyes. He also, surprisingly, had royal blue colored hair much to Chris' surprise.
-I still don't get it.- Chris replied.
-Yeah, me neither.- Chef added.- He's just another scrawny kid without any muscles or strength.
-But come on! A friendly photographer, loves wildlife, always encouraging everyone to do their best! And he has BLUE HAIR AND PURPLE EYES! He's perfect!- Matt yelled with excitement.
-Oh, wait, now I get it.- Chris suddenly said.- Otaku much?- Chris asked.
-Wh-What?- Matt stuttered out, looking nervous.
-Isn't he looking and sounding hella similar to that one anime character that you've been talking to me about a lot lately?- Chris asked, making Matt blush a little.
-I-It's not l-like that.- Matt said as his face turned even more pink.
-Oh, really?- Chris asked, not really believing his friend.
-S-so I may have judged him a little because of the resemblance to my favorite anime character at the time, so what?!- Matt tried to defend himself, sounding hopeless.
-You're hopeless.- Chris commented and rolled his eyes.
-Don't be so hard on him, Chris. Everyone has their interests.- Chef pointed out.- I think we could accept him anyway. There is a lot of potential in that guy in my opinion.- Chef added.
-Hmmmm...yeah, he could be fun...to break.- Chris said and then chuckled a bit.- Fine, he can be in!
-YES!- Matt started cheering immediately.- Thanks guys.
-Anyway, I just came across two interesting audition tapes.- Chef said to others.
-Really?- Chris asked.
-Yes, one is the continuation of the other.- Chef explained.- In the first, sent by the girl with black skin, the both girls are dancing to the same music 'til that girl does a twirl, knocking the camera over. While in the second audition, sent by the fat, white girl, they are pillow fighting when suddenly the fat girl knocks out the black girl by punching her a little too hard with a pillow.- Chef described the events that occurred on both audition tapes.
-They both sound like disaster magnets...They're in!- Chris announced with a smirk on his face.
-What's their names by the way?- Matt asked his own question in the meantime.
-The black girl's Katie while the fat girl's Sadie.- Chef replied and showed the two apps to both Chris and Matt.
-Interesting. Best female friends for life...- Matt read the statement from the app.
-I bet that their elimination could be hilarious!- Chris exclaimed.- Nothing is as powerful as the pain after losing someone close to you.- Chris added with a chuckle.
-Except for the fact that they won't see each other for a few weeks at max.- Matt replied.- That shouldn't be that much, right?- Matt asked the two other hosts, who just shrugged in response.
-I must say that by each second, I love this kids way more!- Chris revealed.- I can't wait for the season to start so we could actually try and torture them a little bit.
-Just a little bit.- Matt repeated with a sigh.
-So, should we continue searching for the remaining six?- Chef asked.
-What about we take a break and go see that movie, Matt was talking about. I'm bored by picking the cast anyway sooooo...- Chris commented and looked at Matt.
-Ugh...fine. But don't expect to run away from picking the last six cast-members next time.- Matt said to Chris with an annoyed look on his face and crossed arms.
-You know me, Matt. I never broke my promises.- Chris said with a little bit of sarcasm in his voice.
-Somehow I doubt that.- Chef commented with a grunt.
-Anyway...where do you want to go?- Matt asked.- I reserved the seats in the cinema already but we still have some time before the film starts.- Matt explained.
-We could always just go there now and just kill some time by talking when we get there.- Chris proposed to Matt.
-Why not.- Matt replied.- What about you, Chef?- Matt asked.
-Works with me as well. But if I see Chris flirt with one more ticket cashier then I'm gonna barf.- Chef commented without any significant emotions.
-I was trying to get us a discount!- Chris defended himself.
-By flirting with a gorgeous woman cashier?- Chef pointed out and raised his eyebrow.
-What can I say. My smile is just irresistible.- Chris said with a big amount of cockiness in his voice and then smirked.
-Good to know.- Matt commented with a laugh.
-Yeah, anyway let's go.- Chris said and both him and Chef stood up and headed towards the main doors while Matt grabbed the wallet that was lying on the desk nearby and ran after them.
-Hey! Wait for me!- Matt yelled, leaving the now empty room behind.
Yeah, me again. Now that the school year's over, I can finally focus some more on writing.
Anyway, here I come with the next six characters and also some of Chris', Chef's and Matt's reaction to the challenges designed by the other producers. Hope you liked them. Anyway, sorry if your character still isn't in, you need to be a little more patient because the last reveal will be published earlier next week. I really have a lot of time to write so it should be done quicker than other reveals...At least in theory.
Anyway...original characters from Island. This time, I gave you some surprises, didn't I? Firstly we have our favorite Alejandro wannabe, Justin! I kinda foreshadowed his acceptance by putting him in the characters of the story. I'm curious how many people noticed that. Alongside Justin, in this reveal, we also have our beautiful BFFFL's: Katie and Sadie! I always liked both of them and it really pained me that they weren't used in other seasons so I decided to use them here and hopefully, you'll like the plot that I have prepared for her. Lastly, probably the most surprising pick so far, Ezekiel. What can I say? I feel bad for the guy. He should've get at least some redemption in WT, but instead the creators made him feral. I want to give Ezekiel a little more attention and hopefully make him a better character. I hope that you can respect my picks. Anyway, the next reveal will consist of the last boy and last girl, one of those won the poll on my profile and the other placed 4th on it. Do you have some guesses for them?
Anyway, I don't really know what else to say. Just that I hope you liked my portrayal of Chris and Chef. Also keep your eyes open for the next reveal, which would also consist of the interns that I have picked for this season. Hope that you'll like them as much as normal contestants.
Also for some reason when I was reading Marty's appearance, I immediately thought of anime characters cause they are often portrayed with not normal hair colors. I wasn't really referring to any anime character while writing Matt's dialogue. I just thought that it would be funny if written like that.
Also, god the ending is so forced. I just didn't have any more ideas for how to continue the conversation between everyone. I just hope that it isn't a big problem for all of you.
