Shouta could be seen patiently waiting on one of the tallest buildings in Musutafu. It was about 11:00 at night and a certain student of his should be showing up for their joint patrol soon.
"Sorry Sensei." Owl landed next to him. "Miranda wouldn't stop fussing about the crop top."
Shouta chuckled. "Shouldn't she know by now that you don't get cold very easily?"
"I think she was more concerned about all those male heroes seeing me in it earlier…."
"I gave them all a stern talking to, they shouldn't bother you at all."
"That's good to hear." She smiled. "I'm not looking for anyone right now, I just want to do my heroic duties for the people of Japan."
"Keep that Heroic attitude, Okay kid?"
"Yes Sensei!" She smiled and spread her wings. "Ready to patrol?"
"Yeah kid."
Owl grinned wide and turned her back to the edge of the building, opened her wings and spread her arms. She giggled as she let herself fall backwards.
Shouta rolled his eyes with an amused huff before he swung down using his scarf. He watched as the wind caught her and she went soaring. He always enjoyed watching her fly. She looked so free up in the sky and not like the cage bird she was when he found her years ago.
He followed her as she flew. He stayed closer down to hear and she stayed higher up to see. They both loved when they got to patrol together, they loved saving people.
Owl scouted down below and saw some suspicious people walking into an alley. She whistled a little tune loud enough for Shouta to hear her. She pointed to the alley and moved to land.
Shouta nodded and stopped on one of the buildings next to the alleyway and waited for her to land. He nodded to her when she did land. They both looked down to the alley and saw a drug deal starting to take place.
Shouta nodded to her and she nodded back. He activated his quirk and dropped down, drop kicking the one in the middle. He looked up, ready to attack the other two when he saw that Owl had already taken care of the two. Both of them were pinned to the walls by her wings.
"Good job Sensei!" She grinned and got out some easy to carry zip ties and tied their hands.
"You're the one that took out two of them." He cuffed his guy.
"I learned from the best didn't I?" She smiled and stepped back, letting the two drop. "I gotta go Sensei. I'm meeting up with another night-based hero." She waved as she flapped her wings and flew off.
Shouta chuckled and watched her go. "You've grown up, kid." He waited for the police to come and get the thugs.
Owl landed on a building farther south in the city. She hummed and took off her headphones and shades. She walked around the roof as she waited for the other hero.
"And you're early as always."
She smiled as she turned to the one who landed next to her. He had light brown hair and black eyes. He had big bat ears standing tall on his head and large bat wings connecting his arms to his body and webbed across his fingers. He stood almost half a foot taller than her. He wore a black long shawl that covered his torso to keep him warm in flight, and baggy grey pants that connected under the arch of his feet.
"Of course Bat, only time I'm late is when I have to get home." She scratched the back of her head.
"Oh I know, Miss Miranda couldn't stop fretting about you being out so late, er, early?"
"I'm only nocturnal in the winter. Since Summer is starting, I'll have to be out in the day more. Just my bird genetics."
"Yeah snowy owls are weird."
"You're one to talk Mr. Big eared bat. How's your eyesight?"
"Still legally blind."
"At least you have echolocation."
He nodded. "Ready to go for our flight?"
"Lead the way Mr. Bat."
He lightly glared at her before taking off, her following after. He looked towards her. "Yo, did you know Hawks tried to contact you today?"
"Yeah, Miranda wasn't having it."
"Not surprised, you were asleep."
She nodded. "Though, I am interested in talking to the other bird hero."
"But you know how he is."
"I know, that's why I didn't tell Sensei."
"You didn't tell Eraserhead?"
"No, I heard him threaten them twice this morning. I'm not letting Dadzawa kill them."
"That's fair. So what's our route today?" He looked back ahead of him.
"We're to look for a potential building for the League of Villains."
"Sweet! They're not keeping us night heroes out of it this time."
"They can't exactly not have us help with them getting on the rise. Their name is literally the league of villains."
"I know, but you know I'm tired of getting left out of most operations."
"I know, it's because they usually have All Might and we don't exactly do the whole day time fame thing."
"Right, so where do you think some villains would hide out?"
"Probably in abandoned or rundown buildings, maybe the red-light?"
Bat nodded. "Alright, let's do what us winged heroes are good at and scout." He suddenly had a burst of speed.
Owl rolled her eyes and sped up to catch up with him. He was her normal team and she still wasn't used to his antics. But that's what makes him her best friend.
"Remember, scouting."
"I know, I know…"
"Use echolocation to your advantage."
"I always do."
"I find that very hard to believe."
"Why can't you have faith in me?"
"Because you're the reason we almost get caught during all of our operations."
He pouted to himself and kept flying. He knew she was right, he might use his echolocation daily, but he never seemed to remember it during work. "I try to remember."
"I know, and that's why we do those drills together with Sensei."
"I'm grateful for Eraserhead."
"I am too."
