Hey guys,

I'm so sorry for the long wait but it has been a chaotic couple of days but hopefully it's over and I'm gonna be able to update more often.

Hope you enjoy! :)

He saw Charlotte emerging from the lockers room already changed and he waved at her, she weaved back before going to the ice to say goodbye to the others and share the usual hug with Lisbon. He chuckled a little as he saw her little feet move as slowly as possible on the ice so she didn't slip, Lisbon saw it too and they looked at each other and shared a laugh. He waved at her and she waved back and they shared another smile before Charlotte finally stepped from the ice and gave him a kiss on his cheek. He took her hand and they left the stadium together.

He didn't come to the game that weekend, in fact, no one from the team came. They got a case on Friday, a really hard one with powerful men and their bodyguards and they've been awake for two days straight. They finally found the killer and cornered him in a warehouse but no one was expecting the 4 tall and muscular bodyguards to appear with guns. They all were standing there for a while, not moving, just pointing the guns at each other. Then all hell broke loose when the killer moved towards Van Pelt and she shot him in the chest in defense. All his protectors launched themselves at Grace and the boys did everything they could to help her. In the end, the CBI team won, but not without consequences, Jane had a broken arm, Cho had a few bruised ribs and Rigsby had a black eye and a swollen nose. But Grace was in the worst shape, she had a few broken ribs and a broken leg from when one of the bodyguards jumped on her, she fought back really hard and managed to knock him out but the damage had been already done.

All of the boys had been examined and they were allowed to leave but Grace had to stay in the hospital for a few days. The three of them were sitting in front of her room waiting for her to wake up when Jane suddenly remembered something. "Shit, I forgot to pick up Charlotte! And today was that competition thing! Oh my God!"

"Hey Boss, calm down and go get her, we'll stay here with Grace," Rigsby assured him as he saw him panicking.

"But I want to be here when she wakes up and see if she's okay."

"We're gonna text you when she wakes up and tell her you had to leave, she'll understand, you go get your daughter," Cho replied.

"Really?"

"Yeah, go."

"Okay, thanks guys!" Jane replied and jogged towards the elevator.

When he got to the stadium he saw Lisbon and Charlotte sitting on the branches talking, they were laughing actually and he let out a sigh of relief when he saw that she's in a good mood. Charlotte saw him first and she ran straight into his arms. "Daddy!" She called out as she hugged him.

"Hi sweetheart," he replied as he hugged her back and squeezed her a little harder.

"Hi, are you okay? I heard what happened, it was all over the news," Lisbon said as she approached the still hugging pair.

"Hi," he replied and released his daughter.

"...yeah I'm okay, the guys are okay too but Grace has to stay in the hospital for maybe a week, nothing that serious though, she'll be okay."

"Oh thank God, I was worrying for hours, I'm glad you're okay. I'll have to go visit Grace at the hospital tomorrow," Lisbon replied and Jane had to smile at how close she was with his friends.

"Oh what's with your hand?" She asked when she looked at his left hand for the first time.

"Oh nothing really, it's just broken a little but it should be good in a couple of weeks. Thankfully it's not my right hand."

"Oh, well that's great! I'm sorry it happened though but I'm really glad that all of you are okay."

"Yeah, same here. Oh, how was the competition today?"

"Well…"

"WE WON DADDY!" Charlotte interrupted her in excitement as she jumped up and down.

"Oh! That's great, I'm so proud of you!" Jane said and hugged her again.

"Yeah they were all amazing, they destroyed the other team! With uh, respect of course…" Lisbon replied and Jane had to laugh at her enthusiasm, she almost looked more excited than his daughter did.

"I'm so happy to hear that but you know it's all thanks to you right? All the practicing and teaching you did helped them win today."

"Oh please, they're all natural I just helped them a little really."

"Oh please Lisbon, you're a great coach and a great person, you helped them win today, really."

"Thank you," she replied quietly and looked down in embarrassment, she never was good with taking compliments.

"Hey um, before you go, I just wanted to tell you that if you need help with anything at home, I mean with Charlotte or something, you can call me anytime okay? I know that you only have a broken arm and that she isn't a toddler anymore, but if you need help with anything just call or text me okay?" She said, trying to change the topic but really meaning the helping part.

"Really? Wow um that's...that's really sweet of you Lisbon, thank you."

"Of course! I mean it, anytime. Do you have my number?"

"Uh no I don't think I do."

"Alright, I have yours so I'll just call your phone right now," Lisbon said and took out her phone, she typed a few times and then his phone vibrated in his pocket.

"There you go."

"Thank you and thank you for the offer really. Also thank you for staying here with Charlotte for this long, I'm sorry It just completely slipped my mind and-"

"Hey, Jane it's okay, I completely understand. You had a hard day and your whole team got hurt, it's okay. You were thinking of the safety of your team, you did what every other person did. Trust me," Lisbon said and patted him on the shoulder.

"Thanks Lisbon, really. Hey, we should probably leave you in peace now, you probably need to be somewhere."

"Oh yeah, the hot shower and the bottle of wine in front of the TV are really impatient and getting angry," Lisbon joked and Jane tried really hard not to show that he just imagined her in the shower. Could you stop that? Jeez.

"Well, you should go before they cheat on you!" He joked...well tried to joke but it sounded better in his head, he felt better though when he saw that she was laughing at his horrible joke and that it was genuine.

"Alright, we really should go, Charlotte is almost asleep," Jane said and he was right, Charlotte was leaning on his shoulder, hugging his arm already half asleep.

"Oh yeah, of course. Bye sweetie," she whispered and gently squeezed her arm.

"Bye Miss Lisbon," Charlotte whispered back and smiled a little. Jane smiled too at the interaction and felt his heart flutter.

"Alright, good night Lisbon, and thanks again, for everything."

"Good night Jane, anytime, really," Lisbon replied and watched as Jane lifted his daughter up to his arms and left with a small smile on her face.
