It has been a year and L still haven't solve the missing children case. As for why, it's because a troubling schedule, a lot of setbacks, a lack of witnesses, and a lack of resources made him unable to.

The informations he has been gathering for a year have lead him to the Barrens and the certain haunted creepy house in Derry which are places he would not check out without proper protection.

The risks of checking those places out are high so L decided to postpone his investigation until he could find the resources and proper protection he needs.

For now, L have decided to focus on certain subjects other than detective stuffs. He had been studying engineering, carpentry, and last but not least; cooking.

He did it out of boredom of course. At least his big old brain is doing something since it's always better than nothing.

Right now, L is on his way to the library. As he continues to make his way, his mind drifted off to a certain event that made him feel something that he haven't felt in a very long time; fear.

As for L Lawliet, he was heading back to the orphanage after a long fruitful day at the library. He knew he is about to get scolded again for being very late. If only he wasn't so interested at the missing children case, he would have already gotten there with time to spare.

He was very wet and his long messy black hair partially covers his cold dark eyes which makes it slightly hard for him to see. But still, L continued to make his way.

As he was running, he suddenly saw a six years old boy in a yellow raincoat crying for help.

He was crawling on the side of the road and his left arm seems to have been ripped off by something powerful.

His instincts then began to kick in and L tried to help the boy as he ran faster but he was still too far away.

And then he saw It which made his eyes grow wide in shock and fear.

It was an abnormally long pale white hand coming out from a gutter near the boy.It then grabbed the boy's leg before yanking him down to the gutter.

This is when L realized he couldn't save the boy from the moment he saw him.

This is when L realized that he never faced something like this before.

This is different and this is much more dangerous.
