"Oh, what is this?"

"Hey! Everyone! Look! It's a baby boy!"

"He's kinda cute!"

"What shall we name him?"

"What about Blake?"

"Hmm, Blake, huh? Not a bad name."

"Okay! Blake, it is then."

"Say hello to us, Blake!"

A pair of emotionless dark eyes slowly open with regret and a deep sigh escape from his mouth.

He regretted it because the first thing he saw is the headmistress standing on the front of his bed with a broom in hand.

Not until a moment later, L stepped out from his room with a big bump on his head followed by the headmistress.

"You little brat! You always couldn't wake up on time!" The Headmistress complained venomously.

"That's because I have insomnia, Mrs. Perkins." L casually replied, "Can't blame me."

"Another pathetic weak excuse from the number one troublemaker." The headmistress only scoffed in disgust at his words, "Just get a move on and do your work, you brat! Or you'll get nothing to eat this morning."

"Sure thing, Mrs. Perkins."

When they finally arrived at their destination, L saw a lot of kids younger or older than him were cleaning the attic, using brooms and towels. They were also rearranging the furnitures to a more suitable location.

As L was about to take a step to join in, the headmistress gave her broom to him before heading back to her office.

This is technically child labor disguised as a lesson for children to learn how to clean their house and be responible. At least, that's what L thinks. He hates this. He is more inclined doing detective work rather than doing household chores.

"This is gonna be a tiring day." L commented as he began sweeping the floor.

"Yeah. No shit, Sherlock." One of the childrens retorted.

After finishing all of his chores, L quickly decided to go to the Library where his friend, Ben, was waiting for him.

L noted that Ben was quite a little nervous before he even arrived at the place and that made him suspicious.

As they wandered around to pick up some books they would read for today, L quickly decided to address the elephant in the room, "What's with the fuss, Ben?"

"Well, Henry Bowers almost caught me last time and I'm nervous because I still have to head back home after this. He's probably hunting for me right now." Ben admitted as he picked up books mostly about the History of Derry.

"Well, don't worry. I'll come with you this time. That psycho will have to learn a new lesson from me." L reassured nonchalantly as he picked up a book about lock picking and a book about many ways to work out at home.

"You've met him before?" Ben questioned.

"Yeah, and it didn't turned out well." L casually replied, "I had to kick him so hard in the face just so I could get away. God knows what would have happened if I didn't do that."

"You're not afraid of him?" Ben hesitantly asked.

"Of course not. Why would I be? I'm pretty sure I can defeat him in a fight." L revealed.

"Then why did you run away?"

"I'm not Bruce Lee, Ben. He had his goons with him at that time." L admitted before they decided to take a seat, "But today, his goons wouldn't matter if we were to confront him."

"Why?"

"Because of this." L then quickly pulled out a gun; A Colt 45. to be exact, before showing it to Ben. He then hid it back in his pants to not arouse suspicion from other people present. Ben was left speechless at the reveal, shocked to his very core, "Don't worry. The gun doesn't have any real bullets inside it. This is the best part. It's filled with blanks. We're gonna be using it to scare them off."

"We?"

"I brought two of them." L answered, "One for you. One for me."

"How were you even able to do that?!"

"Don't ask. I had my ways. Although, you could say it was a pain to get this." L replied.

"I wouldn't wonder."

"I'll give the other to you once we're done here. Then we should probably go to the Pharmacy."

"Why?"

"To buy sleeping pills of course. I have a very hard time sleeping early in the night and I don't want to suffer, Mrs. Perkins' wrath again. That woman is just the worst."

"Okay."

With that, the two started their own personal business which was reading stuff of course. After they were done, L and Ben was about to walk out the door but The Legendary Detective caught something within his eyes when they were proceeding to leave.

It was a certain handsome young man with light brown hair and brown mischievous eyes that are filled with malice and madness. It was a man that L knew all too well. It was him, standing amongst the people present in the library, carrying an all too familiar note in his arms, the one note that stopped his heart from beating.

L was wide eyed when he saw him. It was Light Yagami, the supposed god of the new world. How could he be here? That's just quite impossible. He can't be here. He's not supposed to be here.

And to L's surprise and shock, Light suddenly vanished into thin air. He just magically simply disappeared like he was never there. L simply thought he was hallucinating but it felt too real for him. He could feel his wicked murderous gaze. That familiar madness and malevolent desire to kill him.

"Hey, Blake. You okay?" Ben's worried words snapped him out of his shock. He was back to reality, "You kinda spaced out there for a moment.

"I'm fine." L simply replied but he didn't believed his words, "I just got a lot of things in my head."

"Alright. Let's go." Ben smiled and they finally stepped out of the library before moving to the Pharmacy.

Once they got there, the two simply gets the things L needed and proceeded to the Cashier.

"Do you have a Prescription for this?" The Cashier asked in suspicion upon seeing what L brought.

"Here's my Prescription." L suddenly pulls out a gun and pointed it at the Cashier's head, an act that surprised Ben but the boy quickly remembered the gun wasn't loaded with real bullets.

"Alright. Okay." The Cashier hesitantly nodded in understanding and quickly took the cash.

"A wise choice." L smirked and quickly grabbed his sleeping pills into his pockets.

Meanwhile, as Ben awaits for his friend. He notices someone that made him flush in embarrassment and his heart skipped a beat. It was the presence of his Crush inside the place. The one that even gave her a smile and an autograph. The girl of his dreams. The one and only Beverly Marsh.

"Hey, Ben. Can you please stop ogling over that girl? It's kinda creepy." L pointed out, eliciting a surprised squeak out of the thirteen years old boy.

The girl notices them and she suddenly tries to hide something she was currently holding behind her back. However, this was futile for L as he had already seen it. He's not judging though. Girls need it. Eventually. They always do.

"Um, I wasn't ogling over anything. I was just doing nothing." Ben clumsily croaked out.

"Yeah, right." L rolled his eyes at the excuse. Heck, even he could make a better one at that situation. He glances at the girl's dreamy baby blue eyes and noted of her appearance. She was indeed beautiful, it was no wonder Ben is staring at her. With her reddish auburn hair, freckles, along with her figure and fair skin. Yep, she's a beauty.

Then to L's surprise, the girl started approaching them with a friendly smile and a warm air, "Hiya, Ben from Social Class."

"Hi, Beverly." Ben awkwardly smiled before realizing something, "Um, where are my manners? Um, Beverly, this is the friend I mentioned to you about. This is Blake." He weakly gestures to L in an uncertain manner, "Beverly, meet Blake. Blake, meet Beverly."

L only tilted his head in amusement at Ben's act but he proceeded to go along and be nice for today, "Well, it's nice to meet you, Beverly. I hope Ben has only been telling you the good stuff about me."

Beverly chuckles, "Yeah. You too. And yeah, he told me your his only friend."

"That's true." L smiled.

"So, what are you guys doing here?" Beverly asked.

"Um, we went to buy medicine for Blake's sleeping problems." Ben answered, "What about you?"

At that, Beverly then realized that she had made a mistake. She shouldn't have asked that question. She quickly tries to come up with an excuse but failed due to the panic and awkwardness.

"You don't have to hide it anymore." L spoke out, "I already saw it ever since you tried to hide it behind your back. Don't worry. Me and Ben won't judge."

Beverly still tried her head to come up with an excuse but after a minute, she finally relented. She hesitantly showed the thing she has been hiding ever since they saw each other. Unsurprisingly to L, it was a Tampon. But for Ben's reaction, he was left speechless once again.

"Look, Beverly. I should probably not say this but I'm still going to, there's nothing to be ashamed of what you're doing right now. This is perfectly normal." L explained, "And that's coming from a guy like me. Don't ever be ashamed of being a woman. Be proud of it. Dang, now I sound like one of the Nuns who've raised me. Anyway, the point is, I already made my point. Me and Ben are gonna leave this place. Laters, Beverly."

With that, L just simply decides to grab an unsuspecting Ben and move out. They gotta go now. They're wasting time in L's opinion. Gotta go fast and early. But as they went along the way, L's mind was about Light Yagami. He just can't be here. It was just impossible. It could be playing tricks on him. He doesn't know the answers right now but he will. After all, Justice always prevails.
