Note: Happy 4th of July to everyone in America. Fun fact, Sigma (who is British) should be in America celebrating the 4th with Millie right now, but due to travel restrictions on the US side, those plans were cancelled. Hopefully we'll be meeting up again later this year after some easing of the restrictions. Anyway, on with the show!

Speed Force Memories, Part One

"No, no, no!" Rae cried, running up to Superman. "You can't die! You're Superman. The yellow sun will heal you…" Rae pause as she said the line as something in her caused her to pause. This felt too familiar.

"Tell Ka…" Clark said saying, his life leaving him.

"No. This happened years ago," Rae mumbled looking down at herself. She was in her new Speed Force outfit, not her first one. This was wrong. Was she dreaming of Clark's death? If so, it didn't feel like any dream of this moment she had before – for one thing, she had control and wasn't just reliving it like usual. "This isn't right," Rae added, standing.

"Very good Rae," a voice spoke, and Rae looked around. Barry stood to the side, in his blue Reverse Flash outfit, just like the memory of him teasing her after Clark's death, but he wasn't teasing her this time. "Act like you're still in the memory. We have a lot to talk about."

"I'm in the Speed Force," Rae whispered, crouching back down besides Clark, acting as if she was mourning his just passing. She remembered now. She had been running on Karry Dark with that world's Barry, Prime and Karry Barry beside her, taking the rest of the Paragons into the Speed Force, but then they had been attacked.

"The Anti-Monitor shadows attacked right before you entered. He separated all the Paragons and Spectre, but it's lucky you all fell into me." The Speed Force Barry explained. "I can keep the Anti-Monitor out but his shadows, the Dementors as you have been calling them, can get in. I had to hide you all in memories – I have recreated memories from all seven worlds and placed each Paragon and Spectre inside one. Think of it like a walking dream. Each of you is replaying a memory."

"Isn't Clark's death kind of overused?" Rae asked, looking down at Clark's lifeless form below her.

"It's an important moment in your life. A turning point," the Speed Force Barry explained. "They are the easiest to make you re-live, and if you look towards your right, you can see your defeat of Savitar playing." Rae indeed looked to her right for a moment, and she could sort of see the wasteland she defeated Savitar in, seeing his suit unravel to reveal her world's Wally West. "You have been in me, the Speed Force, so many times that you woke up on your own, which is good. I can only hold off these shadows from finding you all for so long, but the Paragons are stronger together. You have to reunite the nine people that make up the seven and then grab Spectre."

"Didn't we just do this in Purgatory?" Rae asked, frowning at this.

"Whatever you did in Purgatory is different to here. There, there was no risk but here… well, if any Paragon dies, that is the end and the Anti-Monitor will have won," the Speed Force Barry explained.

"Okay then. How will I find them?" Rae asked.

"You need to get out of the New Justice memories. Find a memory you share with another world – you should be able to get to the other world's singular memories from there. They will all be in important memories to the Paragons. I suggest finding Prime Barry first. He will be the easiest to snap out of his walking dream; he's been in here almost as much as you have been now. Look for anything strange, like being older than they would be in the memory, or a different hair style to what you remember. You are all also wearing your superhero outfits – that should help if someone is wearing their costumes when they shouldn't or they have a new version when they should be in an old version," the Speed Force Barry explained. "Once you start moving though, the shadows will go after you. I will try to keep them away. You better hurry, my child. Start running now."

Rae gave a nod, ignoring how weird it was for Barry to call her 'my child' as she knew this was the Speed Force and stood up again. She took a moment to take in the scene before she started running.

The Speed Force wasn't joking when she-as-Barry said she'd recreated a lot of memories: Savitar's defeat was on a loop; her meeting Kara; her wedding to Kara; even just her playing golf with her grandfather… she had to find a memory of her and Prime and she knew the memory. She had thought of the wedding, as Prime, Karry and SuperEarth had all attended her wedding, but checking on the scene, it wasn't a part with the rest of the multiverse that was showing. It was her and Kara talking after everything with Nora and Leona coming up to them telling them not to forget to say I do and giving her gift to them.

She found the right memory soon enough and had to smirk.

"It's Black Flash, close it," Barry was yelling. There was a version of her in her old outfit and looking at Barry, he was wearing Prime's Barry old outfit. Of course, meeting her wasn't a turning point, but she had kind of wondered if maybe the trials inside the Speed Force right before this might be. They had been important for her.

"I was almost ready to call Karry and send that Barry after you!" The memory of Cisco said as she followed them out to STAR Labs within the memory.

"Why Karry?" Memory Barry asked.

Rae paused, remembering this but she had to leave. As if to confirm her thought as the memory played out, one of the Anti-Monitor's shadows came for her, almost like the Black Flash that had come after her and Barry in this memory. Rae was fast in dodging it though and sending a lightning bolt at the shadow. She didn't wait to see what damage she caused it as she ran into Prime's solo memories from this point.

She took fast looks at memories, coming across Skye's birth on Krypton, resisting the urge to stop and witness the scene, she moved on to see Kara and Barry fighting Maxima in the skies; then she ran past a scene of Barry and Kara fighting two women, one with unusual face make up and the other with bright white hair. Finally, she stopped at the memory of when Barry had woke up from his coma.

"Lightning gave me abs?!" Barry was asking, and Rae paused, noticing he was shirtless as Caitlin and Cisco were smirking at him.

"Nope," Rae sighed to herself. "Too early. I need an important memory for Prime Barry. A turning point. Kara. His Kara!" Rae remembered the Speed Force mentioning that she'd made sure Kara was made because she hated worlds Barry and Iris ended up together – meaning Prime Barry was on a very different path before Kara. He had to be in some memory about her. Rae continued to run – she needed to find Prime Barry fast.

-Crisis on Infinite Millma Earths-

Prime Barry sat on the steps of the West household, having just rejected Iris. Looking unseen as ideas started to form in his head. He knew what he needed to do, ready to run to the past, ready to save his mom. He stood, resolute on his idea of what he needed to do.

"Harry left?!" The voice distracted Barry to the point of being a physical barrier as he fell back onto the steps to see Kara with her arms folded. "Why wasn't I informed? I could have at least said goodbye to him."

"Kara…" Barry swallowed, not sure what to say as thoughts of time travel left his mind. "I… we… where were you?!" But as he spoke, a new thought suddenly entered Barry's mind. "My dad died and you… you weren't there! Zoom killed my dad just to…. prove a point. You could have stopped him. We could have stopped him together!" Barry couldn't help but feel this was all too familiar, but he could not figure out why as Kara's eyes widened at this accusation.

"I did not picture this as the start of your relationship," Barry heard a voice and he nearly jumped as he turned around. Standing in the doorway to the West house was girl he didn't know, but also knew for some reason; she was dressed in a speedster's outfit and wore Jay Garrick's helmet. Her name was on the tip of his tongue.

What confused him more was Kara did not react to the newcomer as she continued: "Barry, I…. I didn't know."

"Who are you?" Barry asked the new girl.

"Oh, come on Barry," the new girl said. "Look down at the outfit your wearing. Look at yourself. This isn't real." Barry looked down at himself. He wasn't in plain clothes like he thought he was, and the speedster outfit he was wearing was different; it was whiter and bluer than the full-on red he should have been wearing. "You know who I am and where we are."

And he did. As if he'd snapped out of a dream, memories came rushing back to him. The person standing in front of him was New Justice Rae, his cousin. He was married to Kara and had a daughter. The Crisis and the Speed Force rushed to the forefront of his mind. "More Speed Force tricks," Barry sighed, realizing it.

"This time for a good reason. She's protecting us from the Anti-Monitor's Dementors," Rae explained. "I woke up on my own. You needed a push."

"I did feel something was off," Barry mused, looking back to the Kara in front of him, she was talking but he wasn't listening. She wasn't his Kara, not the Kara he was married to.

"Can you find your Kara?" Rae now asked.

Barry took a breath and nodded. Now he was out of his dream he could feel his Kara. "I can," Barry confirmed.

"Good cause we need to move before they find us," Rae said.

"Follow me," Barry smiled, and the two ran off.

-Crisis on Infinite Millma Earths-

Barry and Rae stopped and looked around, pausing for a moment as they observed the memory that they'd stopped in.

"It's your wedding," Rae stated. "Look there is Karry Krypto and KJ in bowties," Rae pointed at the dog next to Powie.

"And you with the red thing in your hair," Barry said added, seeing the memory of Rae sitting on his side of the wedding party. "Now, where is Kara?"

The music started to play, and Harry was walking with Kara, but Kara was wearing her white and blue Power Girl outfit. "Found her," Rae said as Harry stopped in front of the memory of Barry and the present Barry remembered the nerves and the hello.

"This is so weird seeing her getting married in her Power Girl outfit," Barry muttered.

"Hey, who's the blonde?" Rae asked, noticing a face in the party she didn't know – a teenaged blonde girl.

"I… I never found out," Barry stated. "I remember she told me to remember to say, 'I do'," he smiled at that, and as if something clicked, his eyes went wide as he gasped. "Oh. She's my daughter!"

"What?" Rae asked, distracted now. "That's Skylar?"

"No, it's not Skylar, but she's my daughter nonetheless," he didn't know how he knew, but he just knew it. Maybe it was being in the Speed Force, that connection he and his descendants would have, linking to his mind to let him know.

"Okay. Interesting," Rae nodded. "Leona did the same thing at my wedding."

"She did?" Barry turned to Rae at this. "And you knew it was her?"

"Well, I did spend several years with her in the Speed Force recovering from Savitar. I just knew it was her," Rae shrugged. "Anyway, we got to snap Kara out of this memory."

"Yeah, good point," Barry sighed, deciding to move on from his and Rae's daughters to focus on Kara. "I can do it," Barry said, concentrating on his Kryptonian bond with Kara, sending her emotions as Cisco, their wedding magistrate, started his speech about Kara changing everything for the better. He saw his Kara frowning as she turned to the memory Barry.

"Oh, come on Kara. I am behind you," Barry called out, amused that Kara wasn't quite snapping out of it, but finally Kara turned around to face them.

"Barry?" She asked looking at the real one. "But.. I…" She looked at the Memory Barry standing before Cisco, who was not reacting to her moving or speaking. "What's…?"

"I am the real Barry," Barry said. "You know this. Come on, remember."

Kara paused as the memories obviously came back to her. "I… I feel like I just woke from a hangover," Kara moaned, but came over to the real Barry who put his arms around her to kiss her. "Where are we?"

"The Speed Force," Barry said.

"Should have known," Kara sighed at this. "Oh, I'm in my Power Girl outfit. Of course," she looked down at her outfit and chuckled at this reveal.

"The Speed Force is protecting us until we can all get back together," Rae explained. "And hate to ruin the moment, but if we don't keep moving the Anti-Monitor shadows will realize we're not memories and come for us."

"Where are we going next?" Barry asked.

"Karry," Rae said instantly. "Karry Barry is the only other speedster – he should be easier to wake up and then he can find his Kara and wake her the same way you did yours. We need to go to a memory shared between Prime and Karry. That will lead us to Karry solo memories. Oh, how about Darkseid?"

"We were all there," Barry said with a nod. "Let's run and find it."

Barry took his Kara's hand as they ran, speeding through the Speed Force and finding the Darkseid memory, at the point Karry Karry was saying: "We didn't ask you to show…" and Prime Wally responded with "We're not the only ones coming."

That was when the memory of Rae showed up with her Kara, Clarky, and Beppo. "What did I say about owing you one?" Memory Rae called out to Karry Kara and Barry.

"Well, Kara and Barry here look like normal memories," real Rae pointed out, frowning, knowing this wasn't the point to get them out of their Speed Force memories. "I still don't understand why they didn't ask us for help with this from the beginning."

"I don't really understand either," Prime Kara agreed with Rae.

"You know, the things Darkseid are using are the same Dementors as the Anti-Monitor," Prime Barry added, looking at the shadows, but was shocked when some came right at the three of them, the three barely dodging. "Okay, those are real."

Before the three could attack the shadows though, they were shocked by the Black Flash speeding in and knocking them back.

"He's helping us now?" Kara asked.

"He's controlled by the Speed Force," Rae assured. "Let's run into Karry's memories now."

The group ran from the Darkseid memories, passing into new, different memories from Karry Universe. "So where do we look for Karry Barry?" Prime Barry asked Rae as they ran.

"We need to find an important moment in his life," Rae said. "A turning point."

"The day he woke up from this coma," but Rae stopped, Barry and Kara almost running into her. "What?" Barry noticed the look Rae now gave them. They were in random memory of Kara and Barry's that clearly took place at Disney.

"The day you woke up from your coma was not where you were. You really think that's where the Paragon of Love is?" Rae asked and Prime Barry paused at this.

"Okay, good point. You know, they met in college," Prime Barry gave a smirk as he stated this. "Let's go to their first meeting."

"That's a good idea," Rae said Prime Kara gave a nod, just going with the flow now.

The group ran and stopped in what looked like student halls, but all three noticed both Barry and Kara here were teenagers; neither the adults they should have been if these were the current couple. Joe and Iris were present too, both looking younger than they currently should, not that they would be in the Speed Force.

"Um… Hi… I'm um… I'm Barry," Barry was saying, introducing himself to his Kara.

"Smooth," Prime Kara chuckled at Karry Barry's clear embarrassment.

"Hi. I'm Kara Zor… Kara Danvers," Karry Kara said in the memory.

"She almost revealed who she was from the start," Prime Barry mused, not having known this before.

"Look at them, they are both teenagers," Rae stated as the memory continued around them.

"What could be bigger than meeting Kara?" Prime Barry mused now as more lines were spoken; Joe and Iris went to go get more boxes.

"Wow, Barry was just hit by a lightning bolt," Prime Barry heard Joe say, he pausing as he looked to his alternative adopted father.

"He did not just say that?" Prime Barry asked.

"Bigger issues here," Rae said, waving her hand at Prime Barry.

"What about the day she told Barry she had powers?" Prime Kara spoke out, making both look at her. "Think about it. When we all met our others, we were already heroes. We got together after knowing each other for a while and knowing who we were. Karry is different. Barry didn't know. That had to be a big event in his life."

"Someone is thinking with their head," Rae said, giving Prime Kara a smile.

"She's a keeper," Barry winked, moving in to kiss his Kara at this.

"Let's run and see if we can find Kara confessing her powers," Rae stated, ignoring the pair kissing as she momentarily thought of her own Kara, gone due to Crisis. She shook this off as the three ran.

-Crisis on Infinite Millma Earths-

Karry Barry was at the Danvers House in Midvale; Kara having taken him outside to tell him something. He was sitting on a picnic table with his feet on the seat.

"Promise me you won't say anything until I'm done?" Kara was saying, holding his hands.

"I promise," Barry said, but to him this felt familiar. He wasn't sure what Kara was about to reveal but part of him somehow, already, knew.

"My parents didn't die in a fire. Not really," Kara let go of Barry's hands as she took off her glasses. "And my name, my real name, is Kara Zor-El, of the house of El." Kara put her glasses in her pocket and bent her knees a little before taking off the ground. Barry was shocked to see his girlfriend flying, but there was a part of him that wasn't surprised. Had they done this already?

"When I was a child my planet Krypton was dying," Kara was stating, floating in front of him. "I was sent here, to Earth, to protect my cousin. But an accident threw my pod off course. By the time I got here my cousin had already grown up and revealed himself to the world as… Superman. So, I hid my powers in order to live a normal human life and fell in love with a normal human boy. A human boy who I hope can accept me for who I truly am."

As Barry followed Kara floating around him, he knew it all sounded familiar. He knew what he had to say though. "Please. Say something Barry," Kara added, fear in her voice.

But before Barry could talk he was surprised by another voice.

"Ah, this is more romantic than the memory I found you in, Barry," it was another girl in an unfamiliar speedster outfit, who he also felt he knew well and loved, and with him… another him and Kara?

"Yeah, say something Barry," the Kara in the odd white outfit said this one as Barry seemed lost for words.

"I mean that all sounded like the beginning to some stupid TV show," the other Barry added, glancing to the Kara still floating around the picnic table..

"It would be an awesome TV show," the other Kara now added.

"Compromise. Start out awesome but get stupid by year 4," the girl Barry felt a connection to commented.

Karry Barry was about to say something but stopped when the Kara he was with seemed to continue a one-sided conversation with him, as if he was talking to her.

"What is…? Rae," Karry Barry moaned, remembering who the girl was; remembering meeting her and remembering the other version of her that died in his arms. He also remembered the last time he felt like this. His mind foggy and confused by his real life. "We're in the Speed Force. Crisis! Wait, where's Kara? My Kara," he added, noticing the girl before him was younger than the Kara he was married to.

"Well, you're the one…" Rae started.

"Never mind. I can hear her. Come on," Karry Barry said and ran off.

"Hey, not fair how fast he snapped out of it," Prime Kara protested.

"We are speedsters," Prime Barry said with a shrug, knowing that Karry's Full Kryptonian Bond also allowed a deeper connection to his Kara, to know where she was.

-Crisis on Infinite Millma Earths-

Karry Kara was standing in Clark and Lois's apartment; Barry had been struck by lightning and she knew what she had to become now, what her destiny was.

"I failed. I failed again," Kara was saying.

"Failed what?" Clark asked.

"Protecting! I was sent here to protect you. I failed. I should have protected him, the best thing that ever happened to me, but I failed again. In that hospital. All the panic I saw. All the voices. Everyone who died or was injured. Fail, fail, FAIL!" Kara started and was about to continue – she had a whole speech she wanted to say, in fact, but Barry's voice in her head stopped her, and with that, memories of Crisis played in her mind.

She suddenly remembered everything.

Where are you? Kara thought to Barry.

Behind you, Barry thought back and Kara turned around. Her Barry was there in his speedster outfit with the blue symbol, along with Prime Barry, Prime Kara, and New Justice Rae. Kara ignored the others though as she ran into Barry's arms – suddenly realizing she was in her Supergirl outfit as well, the more recent ones with the red piping. We're in the Speed Force. The Anti-Monitor and his Dementors attacked…

I know, Kara kissed Barry at this. She didn't need it explained, she just knew.

"Where are the others?" She asked after she had kissed Barry.

"Trapped in their own memories until we can wake them," Prime Barry stated.

"Not being speedsters, they're going to be harder to wake," Karry Barry added, his arm around his Kara.

"We need to find them and fast," Rae agreed.

"I think we should find SuperEarth Kara next," Prime Barry added. "What are some SuperEarth and Karry memories in common?"

Kara and Barry looked at each other. "Um….. Christmas… Oh, recently we had that bond thing," Karry Barry said.

"Bond thing?" Prime Kara raised an eyebrow.

"When their Kara and Barry were given the Full Kryptonian Bond, they came to us for advice," Karry Barry explained, to a nod from both Prime Kara and Barry.

"Or we could run back to our memories and then to SuperEarth from mine," Prime Barry voiced getting the two didn't have many memories with SuperEarth. "We share a few more encounters with SuperEarth than you do."

"Like some sort of overlords plan for us and you separately," Prime Kara mused.

"You too, huh?" Karry Barry asked, chuckling at the overlord thing.

"Whatever we're doing, we've got to do it fast before the Dementors find us again," Rae added. "But not through Darkseid. We can't tell the memory Dementor-things from real ones."

"Agreed," both Prime Kara and Prime Barry said together having been with Rae there.

-Crisis on Infinite Millma Earths-

SuperEarth Kara stood in front of the cell, her sister Alex stood next to her in full DEO attire. The fast blur she had caught just now had asked to meet with Harrison Wells and now that she looked at him properly, she noticed he was cute.

"I'm Barry Allen, sir," the blur-man was addressing Harrison Wells, "and I'm from an alternate Earth."

"An alternative Earth?" Harrison was saying.

"Yes. On my Earth I know you, well I know two you, well sort of. It's a long story. But the you I know, the current one, has a daughter, Jesse, who you love more than anything on any world," Barry was explaining to Harrison as Kara looked on, ready to move, in case this guy made any new moves.

"I have two daughters," Harrison stated abruptly. "One is indeed called Jesse. What has this to do with you, Mr. Allen?"

"I'm just trying to gain your trust and trying to explain the multiverse theory, which is actually fact," Barry spoke at top speed, his eyes remaining on Harrison.

"See, my first interaction with Kara, now we need to figure out where to go from here," Kara, however, heard the voice as she span around; two more versions of the man in the cell were present, along with two more hers and a female she didn't know. "Oh, that didn't happen," one of the new Barrys stated, obviously shocked.

"Who are you?" SuperEarth Kara asked. "Alex, intruders!" But she was shocked when Alex didn't turn round, and the Barry in the cell continued his talk with Harrison, despite this turn in development.

"This is your important memory. Meeting me?" The Barry in the white and blue outfit spoke, shocked.

"That must be nice," the girl Kara didn't know mumbled, making eyes turn to her. "Well, everyone but Prime Kara didn't know me in their important memories…"

"We did know you later in life then we did Kara," the other Barry in the red outfit explained to the girl putting an arm around her.

"Look, I don't know who you are but…" SuperEarth Kara started, but then paused, something in her telling her not to attack these unusual doubles.

"Because you do know who we are," the blue and white dressed Barry said, stepping forward. "Get passed the Speed Force's tricks, come on." He ran now, grabbing hold of SuperEarth's Kara, running her to a different memory, shocking her at the scene change. "See, look, your Barry and you."

The scene was in Barry's bedroom back at his parents' house; the Memory Barry was sitting on his bed as the Memory Kara sat beside him.

"You ever lost a fiancée to a witch?" Memory Barry asked sarcastically.

"No, but when I was 12 I was put in a space-pod and sent to Earth while my planet blew up behind me," Memory Kara replied simply, making Barry give her a shocked look. "I know a bit about losing things."

"Wow, yeah… I know," Memory Barry grimaced at this. "I'm sorry I can't compare this to that. I never lost anything before this. My life has been, well… perfect. How do you deal with it? With loss."

"It never goes away," Memory Kara explained truthfully. "With time and a new life, it lessens, but it will always be there. You'll find a way to deal and someday you look back and that gaping hole you feel right now won't be so bad. Good enough that you can remember the good times without breaking down."

As the memory continued to play out before them, SuperEarth Kara turned to the group, her head actually hurting at trying to figure out what was happening.

"I… um…" SuperEarth Kara muttered, confused.

"Hey, I felt the same way," the Kara in white and blue said, putting an arm around SuperEarth Kara. The three speedsters seemed to have an easier time and the Kryptonian Bonds helped the current Karas adjust easier, but this Kara didn't have her Barry to help her.

"Like waking up from a dream," the other girl, who wasn't a Kara, stated.

"Rae," SuperEarth Kara acknowledged, everything starting to flood back: the Monitor, the Paragons, the Vanishing Point, Karry Dark and… her Barry's death. The hole in her heart she hadn't known was there suddenly ignited once more, and she moaned.

"It's okay," Prime Kara stated, keeping an arm around her alternative self.

"My Barry…" SuperEarth Kara moaned, looking back at the Barry and Kara talking in the memory.

"Is how the Speed Force described…?" Rae didn't finish her thought as one of the Dementors appeared out of nowhere; Rae dodging as Prime Kara pushed SuperEarth Kara out of harm's way – she was still a little slow getting out of her dream – while Karry Kara sent a heat vision at the thing to defend them.

"Go now!" Karry Barry called.

"Let's run back into our memories," Prime Barry decided as Prime Kara took hold of SuperEarth Kara again as they ran.

They stopped in the memory of Prime Barry, watching from a distance at seeing Kara kiss Adam Grant in Central City.

"Did we really have to stop here?" Prime Barry asked as his Kara gave him a look.

"Oh shush," Prime Kara sighed to her Barry before she turned to her SuperEarth double, concerned now. "Are you okay?"

"Yeah," SuperEarth Kara said, shaking herself off, "but aren't we missing four people?"

"Yes, we are. And that was the easy part," Karry Barry spoke up, making the others look at him.

"We all know each other well. We don't really know those other three as well. How are we going to find them?" Prime Barry added, getting his Karry double's thought here as the group paused, looking at one another, unsure on how to proceed.
