Enzo and I have been sitting in the library in silence for half an hour, before I finally decided to speak. "How are you alive, Enzo?"

He scoffed. "Well, when you left me to burn when that retched place was on fire, I found my own way out, miraculously."

I sighed. "I'm so sorry, man. I didn't want to leave you there. You've gotta believe me. I had no idea what to do. I couldn't handle losing you, my best friend. So, I turned off my humanity and left."

He stared at me for a while, studying me. Then he sighed. "I suppose I would have done the same, had the roles been reversed. I tried so hard to be pissed at you and hate you, but I couldn't. You were all I had left."

I got up from my seat and walked over to him, putting my hand on his shoulder. "If you'd like, we could catch up on what we missed in each other's lives.

Now that you're here, I have so much I want to tell you. Plus, I'd very much like to have my best friend back."

He smiled. "Sounds good to me, mate. So, tell me about the beauty that invited me in."

I moved to sit back down and looked at him. "She's the best, Enzo. She beautiful, smart, selfless, fun, caring, a bit of a daredevil. She's everything I've ever wanted and more." I smiled fondly, just talking about her.

"She sounds exquisite. What's the lady's name?"

"Violet."

"Such a beautiful name for such a special girl." He smiled. "I can tell she has you wrapped around her finger. You've changed since we were in those cells. You seem happier."

"I am. And it's all thanks to Vi. I've told you about everything that happened with Stefan and Katherine. I was a dick for the longest time.

Hell-bent on causing my little brother misery. That all began to change as soon as I met Violet.

She would talk to me, help me explain the things I've felt in the past century. She has never judged me or looked at me with disgust or hatred.

She's been there for me since day one. She's my best friend. And now, she's the love of my existence, as well as Stefan's." I explained.

"I'm glad you found her, Damon. You deserve someone like her." He told me, sincerely. "My only question is, how are you sharing her with your brother?"

"Well, it just happened. We've gotten close the past couple years. While Katherine tore me and Stef apart, Vi brought us back together.

She's the missing piece of our souls and we've come to realize that we both needed her. We're not jealous in the slightest. She completes us. And so far, it's been working great. Stef and I are brothers and best friends again." I expressed with complete honesty.

"Well, I can see that it's working out well for you guys. I'm glad you all could work things out. I'd like to get to know them. Mind if I stay a while?"

"Of course, Enzo. You're welcome to stay as long as you'd like. You'll love it here. We have wonderful friends and family."

He smiled and we got up and headed back down to the parlor. I made my way over to the couch and pulled Vi up off Stefan's lap.

"Baby girl, I'd like you to officially meet Enzo. You remember everything I told you about him?"

"Of course. Hello, Enzo. I'm Violet Gilbert, you can call me Vi. Stef is the only one that calls me Letty, and Nik over there, calls me Little Flower.

It's nice to actually meet you. I greatly appreciate you being there for Damon. I'd love to get to know you and hopefully become great friends." She smiled as she hugged him, which he happily reciprocated.

"It's a pleasure meeting you, Vi. Damon has been telling me so much about you. Your seem like an amazing woman. And I would like that very much."

"Thank you. I try. Please, join us and get to know everyone."

He nodded and we sat down. I pulled Vi into my lap and played with her silky hair while Stefan rubbed her feet.

I looked at Enzo. "So, should we tell them about Augustine?"

He nodded and he began telling his experience as an Augustine Vampire. About how a woman came to visit him often. They got to know each other and he fell for her. Her name was Maggie James.

She worked for the Augustine Society in the '50s, studying vampire behavior. The name sounded familiar, so I figured I'd bring it up.

"Hey, man. Could you describe Maggie? Don't take this the wrong way, but she sounds familiar." I asked him, hoping I was wrong.

"Sure, mate. She had light mocha colored skin, almond brown eyes, and chocolate brown, shoulder length hair.

Although she worked for those piece of shit scientists, she was very kind and was never part of the torture." He explained. "Why?"

My eyes widened and I looked away guiltily, then looked back at him with sorrow filled regret. "Enzo, I'm sorry. I think she may have been the one that I killed. I had my humanity off and I didn't know she was your Maggie. She never told me her last name."

I watched as he clenched his jaw, preventing the tears from falling that shown in his eyes. He looked at me for a moment, then got up and walked towards me.

I gently removed Vi from my lap, setting her on Stefan's and stood up. Enzo stopped right I'm front of me, then he pulled me into a hug.

"I forgive you, Damon."

I breathes a sigh of relief, but still felt terrible. Nonetheless, I hugged my cellmate back. When we pulled away from each other, I put my hand on his shoulder.

"I'm sorry, Enzo. If you ever need to talk or anything, I'm here." I whispered so only he could hear me.

"I appreciate that, mate. I'll uh, I'll be right back." He gave me a small smile them sped out of the house. I sighed and sat back down on the couch, putting my head in my hands.

I felt Vi shift back towards me. She moved my hands from my face, climbed back into my lap, straddling me and pulled my face up to look at her.

"Don't stress over things you can't change. What happened in the past, happened. I'm sure Enzo will heal in time. He will find love again, Damon. I just know it." She said with such determination. I believed her and smiled. I kissed her nose and pulled her into my arms.

"Thank you, Vi. I love you so much. What would I do without you?"

"Let's not find out." She giggled

"I love you, too, so much."

I squeezed her to me and shifted her to her earlier position and began telling everyone about my own experience as an Augustine Vampire. Vi already knew.

When I finished, Stefan looked at me. "How come you never told me, Damon?"

"It's not exactly something I like to talk about. Besides, we were in a bad place with each other for a long time. At least now you know."

He sighed and put a hand on my shoulder. "Well, I'm here now, brother. And I'm not going anywhere."

"Thanks, Stef. The same goes to you." I smiled at him.

"As heart-warming as this moment is, I say we all head to the Grill. Get some food and booze." Klaus suggested.

"Sounds great to me." I said then stood up, holding onto Violet. "Let's go, baby girl. I'll leave a not for Enzo. Grab your helmet and en extra one for Enzo. You can take him for a ride later."

She squealed and went to get her helmet, then she ran out the front door.

A moment later, we heard her bike start and speed away. We all laughed and followed after my beautiful angel.
