He woke up in the morning when he heard a knock, he groaned for disturbing his peaceful sleep, he then opened the door to see bartender Tom with breakfast. He grabbed it and nodded thanks to Tom and closed the door. He decided to complete his academic books first, then read mind arts books in his free time, his occumelency is only good to keep intruders for less than minute but he wanted good defence for his mind, he knew Dumbledore is master legilimens so he meditated for one hour every day to control emotions and assort his daily memories. His aim to become a 3rd level occumelens before the end of academic year. As days passed he completed his 1st year books and getting started on 2nd year text. He mastered some transfiguration and 5 charms spells. He is quite good with disarming charm and freezing charm.
For the rest of the month Harry would practise Spells from his DADA, Transfiguration and Charms books. He was able to perfect five spells from each of his classes. Harry also had a different approach to his spell-casting; he would practise the wand movements one ten times, without saying the incantation. He would then put his wand down and say the incantation ten times. Once he was sure he had perfected the wand-movements and incantation, he would pick up his wand and practice the spell ten times, by the time he finished, he had the spell perfected. For Transfiguration, He also visualised what he wanted to happen in his mind, which was a secret to casting spells, that they did not teach you that at Hogwarts wanting you to learn that part for yourself, Harry however had beginners' guides to becoming a master in his class subjects that, instructed that it was very important to visualise the spell as you performed it. By the time September 1st rolled around and he was quite comfortable with disarming charm, freezing charm, full body bind hex and some basic transfiguration spells.
On September 1st, Harry awoke with serene smile. As he stood from his bed, he switched on his lamp beside the bed before he went into the bathroom to take care of his Morning business, once finished in the bathroom he entered to his bedroom and began to dress in shorts, t-shirt and trainers before he crept out of his room and down the stairs as quietly as he could so as not to wake any of the other witches and wizards who were staying at the pub.
"Morning Tom." Harry nodded politely as he walked across the pub towards the door leading to Muggle London.
"Morning Hadrian." Tom replied; he of course knew who Harry was and Harry, not wanting the attention brought with being the Boy-Who-Lived had asked Tom to call him by his full given name at birth. Hadrian instead of Harry that way people would be less likely to connect him to Harry Potter and would thusly leave him to his own business.
After stepping into the deserted Muggle street, Harry did a few warm up stretches before he began jogging around the block. He was able to jog around the block three times before he began to get winded after which he sprinted as fast as he could around the block once before he returned to the Leaky Cauldron.
"Good Run?" Tom asked with a toothless smile as he handed Harry a glass of ice-cold water.
"Yes, thanks." Replied a breathless and sweaty Harry as he took the offered glass and downed the water in one go. Ever since Harry had gone for a run on his first morning of staying at the pub, Tom had had a glass of ice-cold water waiting for him.
"What will you be having for breakfast this morning?" Tom asked him as he took the glass back.
"Surprise me today Tom." Harry replied before he headed back up to his room where he then did his push and sit ups. Once he finished the exercise, He jumped into the shower allowing the hot water to wash away the tension from his workout.
After stepping out of the shower, Harry put on a clean pair of boxer-shorts before going into his room and over to the window and opening it wide, he then turned to his snowy owl that he had named Hedwig who was purchased on his bedpost.
"Fly to Hogwarts girl." He told her as she flew over to land on his shoulder giving his ear a gentle nip. "Take your time as it'll be a few hours before I arrive." He watched as Hedwig launched out of the window and into the morning sky. After watching Hedwig fly away for a few moments he turned back to his room and made sure he had packed everything before he dressed in black jeans, t-shirt, turtle-neck jumper and trainers once he was sure he had everything he grabbed his trunk and placed Hedwig's cage inside trunk before shrinking it and heading back down into the pub which had filled up with witches and wizards all having their morning meal.
"Thank you Tom." Harry nodded politely after Tom had brought him his breakfast over, looking down at his plate he found a full English breakfast.
At 10.30 he took a pinch of floo powder and stepped inside the orange granite fire place and he spoke clearly "king's cross junction" just as a green flame swallowed him, he exited the floo by landing on his butt, he quickly stood up and walked gently towards platform 9 platform like nothing happened. The ministry made a floo system in platform 9 and enchanted with Muggle repelling charms. Purebloods have to floo in here to cross the portal to go to platform 9 3/4 as they couldn't put a floo in magical side of platform. He know he have to pass through the wall between platform 9 and 10 to get to the magical side of platform. He calmly walked through the wall like it happened everyday but inwardly he is quite nervous. If he learned anything from Dursleys, it is to know when to shut up and never show anyone what you're thinking. He liked the pleasant feeling when he passed through the wall like he arrived at the place he always belonged.
He is quite nervous entering the magical Britain. He lived his past 6 years away from Britain not knowing what expect of him. He didn't know how to deal with the Boy Who lived moniker. All he knew there will be some people trying to take advantage of his fame. He promised himself time of taking advantage of him is over. He always try to gain an edge when dealing with these people.
A scarlet steam engine was waiting on the other side of platform situated next to a platform packed with people. A sign on the front engine readHogwarts express. Smoke from the engine drifted over the heads of the chattering crowds.
He is observing the crowd as he walked, he didn't notice a girl walking at him until he collide with her and fell backwards. Hearing a groaning, He snapped his head to hear groaning of the same girl he had seen at Diagon Ally. He slowly stood up and lend a hand to help her. He could see a mask of indifference is forming on the face of the girl. Her eyes narrowed at him but relaxed a little when she recognized him.
"Where are your parents Greengrass?" He asked
"We are looking for my friend Tracy Davis but I got lost"
"Why don't we find a empty compartment and let the parents come to you?"
"Okay, that's probably a good idea"
"Of course it is, it's my idea" he replied indignantly
Don't get too big headed, your head won't fit through compartment door.
"let's go find an empty compartment, it is getting filled and will be full if we wait for your friend. She could find us there." Asked Harry, seeing her nod they began to search for empty compartment.
He placed both their trunks over the top and sat in the window seat straight yet relaxed posture. He began to observe the busy life of platform 9 .the excited whispers of summer and fear and nervousness of younger ones. her parents came and said their goodbye to her before they disappeared with a pop. apparently Tracey Davis entered early with One boy named Blaise Zabini.
out the window five minutes prior to 11'o'clock he saw a family of 6 redheads bustled through the muggle portal. Ignoring all of that he pushed his hand in his jacket and pulled out the latest book he was reading, occumelency guide opening the dog-eared page he got himself comfortable and started reading it.
At the same time girl who sat opposite of him is deep in thought 'she is a heiress to the Greengrass name and fortune, so she had to be very careful with whom she befriended as her parents reminded her. So she decided to put a stoic mask in public but this boy in front of her intrigued her at first sight. Hadrian potter was an enigma and she hated enigmas. She know she is a Slytherin and Slytherins hated enigma because they are harder to figure out. Since Greengrass family is a head of grey fraction she have to careful who she antagonize or ally So she decided to observe him while he observed others'.
At 11 o'clock train began to move and leave the station to start the long journey to hogsmade. A uncomfortable silence filled through the compartment but broken by Harry "so Ms Greengrass looking forward to hogwarts huh? ".
"Of course I am, my sister is quite put out that she couldn't come until next year. Even though I love her she kept ranting about anything. In hogwarts I'd get enough privacy." she replied dryly. "Which house do you think you would be in?" She added curiously.
"If I had to choose I'd rather be in Ravenclaw or Slytherin but any house is fine by me as long I get my own room and privacy, as I am heard only these two houses have rooms instead of dormitories." he said frankly"what about you?"
She replied "I believe I'd be in Slytherin."
" then if asked I'd tell to place me Slytherin if only that I can spend time with a lovely lady." Harry said cheekily.
But to his amusement a pink colour slowly crept on face of her before she composed herself.
"Can I sit here, everywhere else Is full? " a voice interrupted them While harry begun to watch the countryside of Britain. He turned to see one of the red headed boy he seen at the station standing at the opened door of the compartment.
Harry narrowed his on the redheaded boy. According to hogwarts a history, he read 'any compartment in train will as expand to number of children in it'.
"Last I checked there are several empty compartment in the back side of train" Hadrian said narrowing his eyes.
Red headed boy said " I am Ron weasley by the way, are you really harry potter?
Harry replied "no I am Hadrian potter" though Ron is quite busy searching the famous scar on his forehead
"do you have the scar" he asked
" I don't know about THE SCAR but I do have a quite few" he replied sarcastically
"That Is not I mean, I meant the scar from 'you know who' " he replied
"I don't know who" he replied
"He must not be named" Ron said in exasperated tone
"Why he must not be named?, don't he have any name if don't we can name him" he replied in a mock frown
"How about 'Arthur'" Weasley went pink again at mention of Arthur.
"He is talking about Voldemort" Daphne said in a exasperated tone. Even though she flinched after saying the name he had to give to her.
"Don't say his name" Ron flinched hearing the name. He ignored them and sat on a seat opposite to them and started staring out the window.
Around half past twelve there was a great clattering outside in the corridor and a smiling, dimpled woman slid back their door and said, "Anything off the cart, dears?"
Harry who hadn't tasted candies from Britain so he decided to try some. He looked towards red headed with a raised eyebrow as if questioning whether he need anything . Red headed boy who sat across him went pink and he muttered that he'd brought sandwiches. Harry went out into the corridor to buy some sweets. He is not much of a sweet tooth.
she have Bettie Bott's Every Flavor Beans, Drooble's Best Blowing Gum, Chocolate Frogs. Pumpkin Pasties, Cauldron Cakes, Licorice Wands, and a Chocolate Frogs. Pumpkin Pasties, Cauldron Cakes, Licorice Wands, and a number of other strange things Harry had never seen in his life. He got some Cauldron Cakes, Licorice Wands and chocolate frogs. He paid the woman eleven silver Sickles and seven bronze Knuts.
Harry ever the gentleman gave two Licorice wand and a Cauldron Cake to Daphne. Seeing as Harry giving his sweets Ron weasley tried to take a chocolate frog from Harry only to slapped away in the last moment.
"I don't like people stealing my stuff weasley" Harry said eyes narrowing
"But you gave her some" Ron tried to justify his action
"Well she didn't buy anything, it wouldn't be proper for me to eat while the lady goes hungry. You on the other hand said you have sandwiches And I would have gave you some if you ask." Harry said dryly. He reluctantly threw a chocolate frog for Ron Then He returned to reading . He ignored the pathetic attempts of Ron to start a conversation with him about Quidditch. Ron finally realizing Harry didn't like discussion of Quidditch decide to change subject.
Harry, what house do you think you'll be in? he asked curiously
"What house, there are houses in school, then I would like to get into big one." harry said decided to play with the boy with ignorant innocent card. He subtly shook his head informing Daphne he is playing with the boy. He know she could understand the subtle messages as he know she'll be in slytherin.
"You don't know, I will tell you . There are 4 houses, Gryffindor the house of brave, the best house of course. Hufflepuff the house of loyal, apparently not a bright house. Then there is Ravenclaw house of book lovers and Slytherin, there isn't a wizard that didn't go to dark in that house, you know who went to Slytherin while he studied at Hogwarts"
"Voldemort went to Hogwarts really? Do you think he gone as in name of Voldemort in school too" he asked curiously. He didn't know much about Voldemort. It doesn't matter after all he is dead.
"Could you stop saying his name" Ron interjected flinching at mention of Dark Lord's name.
"Why, he is dead he isn't going to appear in front of you. I can understand the fear of older people because they lived through the reign of terror"
What do you think Ms Greengrass? He asked.
Daphne narrowed her eyes on him. In Magical Britain the opinion of a woman are often ignored. Whatever she about to say was cut-off by Weasley
"Greengrass, they are Slytherins Harry" he said looked at Daphne like he saw her in a new light.
"So what" Harry asked
"They served you know who in the war"
"We didn't" Daphne answered indignantly.
"You lot are Slytherins, you would join him in a heartbeat." Ron accused her
"GET OUT" harry shouted
"What"
"You heard me 'Get out'. I don't like people accusing my acquaintance with severe matter like this."
Ron reluctantly stood up and went out decided to use his remaining brain cell to not antagonize Harry further.
Just as he began to lock the door a bushy haired girl barged into the compartment
"have you seen a toad Neville the boy has lost one" demanded the girl.
they said in unison "no" and looked at each other. He began to think recommending to see prefect but decided against it as he didn't like the demanding tone of her.
"Who are you anyway" Daphne enquired.
"I am Hermione granger a muggleborn student I am just surprised as my parents when professor McGonagall said I am a witch and introduced to this world. I wanted to sorted in Gryffindor since headmaster Dumbledore sorted in there" she finished in a excited single breath.
"Merlin she just asked you name" he said dryly.
You're awfully rude" She commented
"Says the girl who barged in here without permission, don't you have a toad to find " Daphne replied.
decided to change the subject she noticed the Wand in the boy's hand "are you doing magic let's see then".
"well to do magic, could you please take two steps back" He replied
she raised an eyebrow at questionable manner but did as told, she found herself in the hallway. He just locked the door and silenced it. On the other side granger was screeching to open up the door and finally stormed off thinking about arrogant boy.
Daphne smirked at the cunning shown by Hadrian. He decided to return to book. Half the way Tracey Davis and a black skinned boy named Blaise Zabini joined the ride. Tracey is a brown haired brunette and has a round face and grey eyes. Blaise Zabini was a tall dark skinned boy who just shorter than him and had black eyes. Reminder of journey they played exploding snap. Hours later after as they had changed into their Hogwarts robes a voice echoed through the train: "We will be reaching Hogwarts in five minutes' time. Please leave your luggage on the train, it will be taken to the school separately."
The train slowed right down and finally stopped. People pushed their way toward the door and out on to a tiny, dark platform. Harry stayed sat in his seat until everyone had exited the train before he jumped onto the platform at the back of train with Blaise, Tracy and Daphne.
Then a lamp came bobbing over the heads of the students, and Harry heard a booming voice: "Firs' years! Firs' years over here!." Looking up the platform Harry saw a huge man. He was at least twice the size of a normal man and at least three times as wide. The man had wild, bushy black hair and beard.
"C'mon, follow me - any more firs' years. Mind yer step, now! Firs' years follow me!" Slipping and stumbling, they followed the giant of a man down what seemed to be a steep, narrow path. It was so dark on either side of them that Harry thought there must be thick trees there.
"Ye' all get yer firs' sight o' Hogwarts in a sec," the giant called over his shoulder, "jus' round this bend here." There was a loud "Oooooh!" The narrow path had opened suddenly onto the edge of a great black lake.
Perched atop a high mountain on the other side, its windows sparkling in the starry sky, was a vast castle with many turrets and towers. The light from the moon bouncing off the water as a beautiful stands there against dark a if created by magic itself. He just stood there for a second to watch the spectacular piece of magic.
"No more'n four to a boat!" The giant called, pointing to a fleet of little boats sitting in the water by the shore. Harry, Daphne, Blaise and Tracy took a boat to themselves
"Ladies first" harry said.
"Always a gentlemen I see" Tracey said when They entered the boat
"Everyone in." shouted the giant, who had a boat to himself. "Right then - FORWARD!" And the fleet of little boats moved off all at once, gliding across the lake, which was as smooth as glass. Everyone was silent, staring up at the great castle overhead. It towered over them as they sailed nearer and nearer to the cliff on which it stood.
"Heads down!" yelled the giant as the first boats reached the cliff; they all bent their heads and the little boats carried them through a curtain of ivy that hid a wide opening in the cliff face. They were carried along a dark tunnel, which seemed to be taking them right underneath the castle, until they reached a kind of underground harbour, where they clambered out onto rocks and pebble.
"Oy, you there! Is this your toad." said the giant, who was checking the boats as people climbed out of them.
"Trevor!" cried a round faced boy blissfully, holding out his hands. Then they clambered up a passageway in the rock after Hagrid's lamp, coming out at last onto smooth, damp grass right in the shadow of the castle. They walked up a flight of stone steps and crowded around the huge, Oak front door.
"Everyone here. You there, still got yer toad." The giant raised a gigantic fist and knocked three times on the castle door.
The door swung open at once. A tall, black-haired witch in emerald-green robes stood there, who Harry remembered was called Professor McGonagall and was the transfiguration teacher, head of Gryffindor and deputy Headmistress.
"The firs' years, Professor McGonagall," said the giant.
"Thank you, Hagrid. I will take them from here." Finally the first years had a name for this giant of a man. McGonagall pulled the door wide. The stone walls were lit with flaming torches like the ones at Gringott's, the ceiling was too high to make out, and a magnificent marble staircase facing them led to the upper floors.
They followed Professor McGonagall across the flagged stone floor. They could hear the drone of hundreds of voices from a doorway to the right -the rest of the school must already be here - but Professor McGonagall showed the first years into a small, empty chamber off the hall. They crowded in, standing rather closer together than they would usually have done, peering about nervously.
"Welcome to Hogwarts," said Professor McGonagall. "The start-of-term banquet will begin shortly, but before you take your seats in the Great Hall, you will be sorted into your houses. The Sorting is a very important ceremony because, while you are here, your house will be something like your family within Hogwarts. You will have classes with the rest of your house, sleep in your house dormitory, and spend free time in your house common room.
"The four houses are called Gryffindor, Hufflepuff, Ravenclaw, and Slytherin. Each house has its own noble history and each has produced outstanding witches and wizards. While you are at Hogwarts, your triumphs will earn your house points, while any rule breaking will lose house points. At the end of the year, the house with the most points is awarded the house cup, a great honour. I hope each of you will be a credit to whichever house becomes yours."
"The Sorting Ceremony will take place in a few minutes in front of the rest of the school. I suggest you all smarten yourselves up as much as you can while you are waiting."
"I shall return when we are ready for you," said Professor McGonagall. "Please wait quietly." She then turned around and left the chamber.
"How exactly do they sort us into houses." he heard someone ask.
"Some sort of test, I think. Fred said it hurts a lot, but I think he was joking." Harry snorted at the idiocy of the redheaded boy. He didn't think the authorities is stupid enough to think a first year can take a troll.
"So it's true then," A voice said, over the rest of the talking first year interrupted his train of thoughts. The first years all stopped talking as a blonde boy with grey eyes walked up to Harry, following behind him were two big boys who looked like gorillas and the stereotypical examples of 'all brawn and no brain'. "what they were saying on the train, Harry Potter has come to Hogwarts." The other first years began whispering amongst each other as they watched, the boy didn't seem to notice as he continued talking. "This is Crabbe and Goyle," He gestured to the big boys behind him. "and my name is Malfoy, Draco Malfoy." He said with a smirk
Harry was about to respond but was cut off when an amused snort was heard, everyone turned to look at the source of that snort, it happened to be none other than Ron Weasley, the redhead from before.
"Think my name is funny, do you?" Malfoy glared at him. "I don't think I need to ask yours," He sniffed as if he smelt something unpleasant, "red hair and hand me down robes, you must be a Weasley." He said, causing Ron's face to turn red in anger and embarrassment. "You'll soon find out that some wizarding families are better than others," Malfoy said to Harry, "you don't want to be making friends with the wrong sort. I can help you with that." he said as he held out a hand for Harry to shake.
"Hmm," Harry hummed thoughtfully before shaking Malfoy's hand. "I think I can tell the wrong sort of myself so I don't need your help Mr Malfoy".
Nobody was talking after that except a bushy brown haired with large front teeth who was whispering very fast about all the spells she'd learned and wondering which one she'd need.
He kept his eyes fixed on the door. Any second now, Professor McGonagall would be coming back in to lead them to the sorting.
Then something happened that made him jump about a foot in the air - several people behind him screamed.
"What the -." He growled spinning round to glare at those who had screamed almost in his ears. However as he turned around, he saw the last thing he expected to see in his life.
About twenty ghosts had just streamed through the back wall. Pearly-white and slightly transparent, they glided across the room talking to one another and hardly glancing at the first years. They seemed to be arguing. What looked like a fat little monk was saying: "Forgive and forget, I say, we ought to give him a second chance -" "My dear Friar, haven't we given Peeves all the chances he deserves. He gives us all a bad name and you know, he's not really even a ghost - I say, what are you all doing here." A ghost wearing a ruff and tights had suddenly noticed the first years. Nobody answered.
"New students!" said the Fat Friar, smiling around at them. "About to be Sorted, I suppose." A few people nodded mutely.
"Hope to see you in Hufflepuff!" said the Friar. "My old house, you know."
"Move along now," said a sharp voice. "The Sorting Ceremony's about to start." Professor McGonagall had returned. One by one, the ghosts floated away through the opposite wall.
"Now, form a line," Professor McGonagall told the first years, "and follow me." Harry got into line behind Tracy who was behind Blaise, with Daphne behind him, they walked out of the chamber, back across the hall, and through a pair of double doors into the Great Hall.
Harry had never even imagined such a strange and splendid place. It was lit by thousands and thousands of candles that were floating in mid-air over four long tables, where the rest of the students were sitting. These tables were laid with glittering golden plates and goblets. At the top of the hall was another long table where the teachers were sitting. Professor McGonagall led the first years up here, so that they came to a halt in a line facing the other students, with the teachers behind them.
The hundreds of faces staring at them looked like pale lanterns in the flickering candlelight. Dotted here and there among the students, the ghosts shone misty silver. Mainly to avoid all the staring eyes, Harry looked upward and saw a velvety black ceiling dotted with stars. He heard someone whisper. "Its bewitched to look like the sky outside. I read about it in Hogwarts, A History." It was hard to believe there was a ceiling there at all, and that the Great Hall didn't simply open on to the heavens. He was quite impressed with the roof which had been enchanted by Rowena Ravenclaw. It is spectacular. He too read it in Hogwarts :A History.
Harry quickly looked down again as Professor McGonagall silently placed a four-legged stool in front of the first years. On top of the stool she put a pointed wizard's hat. This hat was patched and frayed and extremely dirty. He raised an eyebrow silently but otherwise gave no other reaction. Noticing that everyone in the hall was now staring at the hat, he stared at it, too. For a few seconds, there was complete silence. Then the hat twitched. A rip near the brim opened wide like a mouth - and the hat began to sing.
Oh you may not think I'm pretty, But don't judge on what you see, I'll eat myself if you can find A smarter hat than me.
You can keep your bowlers black, Your top hats sleek and tall, For I'm the Hogwarts Sorting Hat And I can cap them all.
There's nothing hidden in your head The Sorting Hat can't see, So try me on and I will tell you Where you ought to be.
You might belong in Gryffindor, Where dwell the brave at heart, Their daring, nerve, and chivalry Set Gryffindor apart;
You might belong in Hufflepuff, Where they are just and loyal, Those patient Hufflepuffs are true And unafraid of toil;
Or yet in wise old Ravenclaw, if you've a ready mind, Where those of wit and learning, Will always find their kind;
Or perhaps in Slytherin You'll make your real friends, Those cunning folks use any means To achieve their ends.
So put me on! Don't be afraid! And don't get in a flap! You're in safe hands (though I have none) For I'm a Thinking Cap!"
The whole hall burst into applause as the hat finished its song. It bowed to each of the four tables and then became quite still again.
Professor McGonagall now stepped forward holding a long roll of parchment and turned towards first years.
"When I call your name, you will put on the hat and sit on the stool to be sorted," she said. "Abbott, Hannah!"
A pink-faced girl with blonde pigtails stumbled out of line, put on the hat, which fell right down over her eyes, and sat down. A moments pause
"HUFFLEPUFF!" shouted the hat.
The table on the right cheered and clapped as Hannah went to sit down at the Hufflepuff table. Harry saw the ghost of the Fat Friar waving merrily at her.
"Bones, Susan!"
"HUFFLEPUFF!" shouted the hat again, and Susan scuttled off to sit next to Hannah.
"Boot, Terry!"
"RAVENCLAW!"
The table second from the left clapped this time; several Ravenclaws stood up to shake hands with Terry as he joined them.
"Brocklehurst, Mandy" went to Ravenclaw too.
"Brown, Lavender" became the first new Gryffindor, and the table on the far left exploded with cheers.
"Bulstrode, Millicent" then became a Slytherin.
"Finch-Fletchley, Justin!"
"HUFFLEPUFF!"
Sometimes, Harry noticed, the hat shouted out the house at once, but at others it took a little while to decide. "Finnigan, Seamus," the sandy-haired boy next to Weasley in the line, sat on the stool for almost a whole minute before the hat declared him a Gryffindor.
"Granger, Hermione!"
Granger almost ran to the stool and jammed the hat eagerly on her head.
"GRYFFINDOR!" shouted the hat. He sighed in relief, he don't think he can with her if she is in his same house. He know he'd never go to Gryffindor. He assumed she will go to Ravenclaw considering her love for books. He thought Ravenclaw will give her enough privacy to read books but who was he to argue with a ancient magical hat.
When Neville Longbottom, the boy who kept losing his toad, was called, he fell over on his way to the stool. He didn't like how heir of Longbottom presented himself. He could understand the boy having some self esteem issues as he had. He knew potter are friends with Longbottom for centuries. He decided then, he will try to take the boy out of his shell. He'd make a good all, after all he has big plans for Britain. It won't be possible without any allies. Hat took a long time to decide with Neville. When it finally shouted, "HUFFLEPUFF," Neville ran off still wearing it, and had to jog back amid gales of laughter to give it to "MacDougal, Morag
As the sorting continued, Harry's eyes began to wander at the teachers table, he recognized half giant from the ride of Gringotts. The other most interesting looking teacher was a man who looked the exact opposite of Half Giant in terms of height, in fact he looked no bigger than a Gringotts goblin. There were several other interesting looking teachers, including the headmaster.
The headmaster Albus Dumbledore wearing bright purple robes that had a star pattern on them, that with his hat and long white beard made him look like a typical story wizard. Another interesting teacher Harry couldn't help but notice was the black robes teacher sitting next to a Professor who was wearing a purple turban.
The black robed teacher was a thin man with sallow skin, a large, hooked nose and yellow, uneven teeth. He had shoulder-length, greasy black hair which framed his face in curtains, curling lips and dark, penetrating eyes that resembled tunnels. Harry first thought he is a Vampire as if reading the mind The man was glaring in Harry's direction, Harry was pretty sure that the man hated him judging by the way he was looking at him and at last not least the professor McGonagall was a woman with a few wrinkles on her face and her hair in a tight bun, transfiguration master along with Deputy head and head of Gryffindor. A powerful witch who easily demands the respect of others.
While in sorting, Daphne and Tracy were sorted into Slytherin house sat next other first years in the Slytherin table. Malfoy swaggered forward when his name was called and got his wish at once: the hat had barely touched his head when it screamed, "SLYTHERIN!" Malfoy went to join his friends Crabbe and Goyle, looking pleased with himself.
Potter, Hadrian" A voice brought Harry out of his thoughts, he realised that he was being called up. He walked up to the stage, ignoring the whispers of the rest of the hall.
