OK Everybody, this one (and to an extent the next one) were a surprise, I didn't expect so many people to want to see how Al'Dan's story would progress. Some KarateKid/Rocky training montage chapters is what the people want…so that is what I provide :D

P.S. Totally forgot while writing last chapter, at this point Al'Dan is 17, so this chapter and the next chapter will be based within 1 or 2 years.

11/10/2016 EDIT-Tree size...I know 50ft isn't that big, just a little niggling detail.

But enough about the details, Enjoy everyone!

Al'Dan chapter 6

The Training of Al'Dan

Location: Liverdia 6, Class 3 world

Al'Dan Age: 17

The tranquillity of the land below was something to be beheld in person. Gargantuan trees that reached 150ft high and some even higher than that, varied wildlife scoured the vegetation below and chirping alien avian flew in the skies, many of which either birds, insects or winged reptiles.

The world had no sentients inhabiting it. It was the prime example of a hunting world used for breaking in young hunters, nothing too challenging, but just enough to make them realize they must adapt.

The Hunting ship descended from the atmosphere and approached the treeline. The ship's coolant systems already working on the heated up hull, the interior atmospherics in top working order to sustain the life forms within and the thrusters working to their peak efficiency to control the ship's landing without killing the passengers.

The ship wasn't pretty, design-wise it was quite standard, but that was the way Bul'Vyr liked it. The sapphire hunter didn't like other hunters knowing the ship was his, he held the element of surprise in quite high regard that way.

That way Bul'Vyr always had the drop on his opponents.

The ship set down on an open patch of ground within the jungle, not out in the open, but not in a position where it would impede their take off. The dense foliage of the jungle would hide their ship from prying eyes, and serve as a camp for their stay, as it was never wise to wander from your ship.

The wildlife scattered as the ship touched down, small rodents and the like scattered from the ship as though it were an Alpha predator.

The landing ramp extended as the engines powered down, and from the ramp walked Bul'Vyr, outfitted in his best gear.

Bul'Vyr's hunter armour was more functional and less ornate than most hunters his age, his left arm encased in full plate armour while his right arm only had the standard Yautja wrist gauntlet. His chest adorned in the segmented light plate armour that most Hunters wore, the light weave mesh covering his exposed areas.

At his left hip he wore a standard Machete and a folded up comb stick, while on the back of his waist a curved dagger. Within both his gauntlets he had a set of standard wrist blades, made of acid resistant Yautja steel. And on his right shoulder was a folded up plasma caster.

All of Bul'Vyr's gear was weathered and worn, but still in prime working condition. The sapphire hunter was not one for ornate armour, all flashy armour did was draw attention to you from the wrong people.

Bul'Vyr preferred to have functionality over flashy designs.

Obviously many Elders and Elite Hunters disagreed with him on this, but Bul'Vyr wasn't a known giver of fucks.

The Blue skinned Hunter took a long, deep sniff of the air, spreading his mandibles wide open to get as much of a taste of the jungle aroma as he could.

"Nothing beats that smell" Bul'Vyr smiled with his mandibles.

"Just smells like regular air mixed with shit" Al'Dan replied as he and Liana followed the Elite Hunter down the ramp.

"Al'Dan, when I'm done with you, you will appreciate that smell and all it represents" Bul'Vyr noted as he ended the ramp and savoured the feeling of grass and soft ground beneath his feet.

"Paya, I hope not" Al'Dan replied.

Bul'Vyr gave Al'Dan a light smack on the back of the head "Lesson 1, don't let your senses decide what is good or bad, leave that to your judgement, sometimes a putrid smell can lead you to shelter or food or water or tell you when to avoid danger. All scents good and bad have purpose to the Hunter, the sooner you learn that the better" Bul'Vyr tutored Al'Dan with a tone of authority.

Liana could only cross her arms and stifle any chuckling, as it was quite humorous seeing her uncle act so authority towards the young Human.

"Is smell really so important?" Al'Dan asked, rubbing the back of his head.

"I'll have you know that smell is one of the Hunter's greatest tools. The Kamads managed to build a million-year-old Empire upon their heightened sense of smell" Bul'Vyr explained.

"Oh yeah, because their healing ability has nothing to do with it" Liana smirked.

Bul'Vyr glared at Liana with annoyance. His niece was just like her father, a smirking know-it-all, deep down it gave him some comfort that his brother lived on in his niece.

But It didn't change the fact that she was just as rebellious as Al'Dan. Both Liana and Al'Dan wanted to learn from the wise old Hunter, but they couldn't help but let their developing personalities flourish. Then again he needed his students to keep a clear mind and concentrate on his lessons.

"That's enough talking from the both of you. Lesson 2, Dinner" Bul'Vyr replied.

"Oh great, I'm starving" Al'Dan replied.

"Good, because you are hunting the dinner" Bul'Vyr smirked as he walked past Al'Dan, patting him on the back as he did.

"Wait what?!" Al'Dan exclaimed.

"How can you become a great hunter if you don't learn to hunt? Hunger is a great motivator, so get to it" Bul'Vyr replied as he gathered some equipment to set up camp.

Liana chuckled at Al'Dan's reaction to her uncle's proposal, but soon her smirk and chuckling ceased.

"I don't know what you find so amusing young lady, you are going with him" Bul'Vyr replied as he bundled up a bunch of camping equipment.

"You've got to be joking" Liana stared at her uncle, not seeing the huge grin plastered on Al'Dan's face.

"I've never been one for Jokes Liana, you wish to be a Huntress, correct? Then you had best get moving" Bul'Vyr smirked to himself.

Al'Dan and Liana quickly left, wasting time arguing with Bul'Vyr was not an option, and the quicker they got their prey, the quicker they could eat and get onto the next task.

Bul'Vyr smiled to himself, even on their first hunt, conventional or not, they were already getting the hang of it. Wasting time was never an option in the eyes of a true hunter, time was a precious asset that many hunters didn't appreciate, so for Liana and Al'Dan to get better they had to learn time management.

The more time they spent in the field, the longer they would have to concoct a plan.

It was a dirt simple lesson, but that only made it all the more vital.

"Oh Paya, where the hell are all the prey!?" Al'Dan cursed out loud as he and Liana walked through the dense foliage.

"Well, shouting isn't going to lure them to us" Liana replied flatly.

The two young hunters in training had been searching for the right spot to set up a trap for ages. At least 2 hours of looking and searching through the dense foliage of the landscape, looking for something that would make a good meal.

Both Liana and Al'Dan had researched the different types of life on planets like this, nothing too dangerous or challenging for a Hunter, but not too easy either.

Perfect for breaking in young bloods.

"By the way, I forgot to ask…how did your family feel about this?" Liana asked.

"They seemed hesitant at first"

"…Hesitant?"

"…. Ok, my mother and father clocked Bul'Vyr when he told them"

"Wow…. that bad huh?" Liana giggled.

"Yeah, my parents are…. protective" Al'Dan chuckled.

"I'm curious which one of them gave my uncle the black eye, your mother or father?" Liana asked with a raised brow.

"I think my mother" Al'Dan smirked, causing Liana to laugh heartily at his goofy delivery.

"What? My mother is a tough lady" Al'Dan laughed, throwing an arm around Liana's shoulder.

"I don't doubt it; she just didn't seem the angry sort when I came around for dinner" Liana smiled.

"Trust me, when me and El'Dan would misbehave she would roar and yell so loud that the next 5 rows of dwellings would hear her. You saw her good side" Al'Dan replied.

"I feel honoured" Liana chuckled.

The air was then filled by the loud rumbling of Liana's stomach.

"Sounds like someone is hungry" Al'Dan smirked, mere seconds before his own stomach growled just as loud as Liana's.

"Look who's talking" Liana smirked.

"We had better get something before the sun sets, shouldn't there be some fields or something?" Al'Dan asked, knowing full well that large fields usually attracted very large game, herbivores that built up a lot of fat and muscle and most importantly would become an edible and nutritious meal for hungry Hunters.

"I say we should climb a tree, you know? Get a good idea where we are in the jungle, see if there are any fields around" Al'Dan suggested.

"Good idea, I'll try and get a good look" Liana replied as she turned to a particularly large tree and began to scale it, using her sharp claws and foot talons to dig into the tough bark of the trunk.

Al'Dan tried to follow her, but his human fingernails were not sharp or tough enough to dig into wooden bark, his finger strength alone wasn't going to get him up the tree trunk. After a few failed attempts Al'Dan looked up to see that Liana was already halfway up the tree.

The original planet of the Yautja was a jungle planet, so it made sense that Yautja were experts at climbing trees, Homo-Sapiens however had ironically branched away from the evolutionary path that required good tree climbing skills.

Yet another thing that Al'Dan's Human DNA denied him.

Liana quickly reached a branch and with all the grace and agility of an acrobat she flipped onto the branch and began to scope out her surroundings.

The foliage, like many Hunting planets that the Yautja chose to use was a dense mixture of forest and Jungle Topography. Colossal trees that the Yautja could utilize to stalk their prey from a safe vantage point. Out in the distance seemed to be a large wide open field, and from what Liana could see, there seemed to be a large herd of animals grazing.

The addition of light based sight was real benefit to most Yautja present day. Since the war between humanity and the Yautja it was quickly discovered that the Yautja's thermal based sight was more of a hindrance than a help.

A few genetic modifications to the eyes weren't that hard during the war, now the next generation of Yautja had naturally light sensitive eyes, their thermal sight was still an option within their masks, but the Yautja race as of now had joined the light sensitive club, they did have habits of adapting after all, and it was never very practical to be able to get fooled whenever some asshole smothers themselves with mud.

"Bingo" Liana smirked.

"Anything good!?" Al'Dan shouted.

"Depends, how does something big, meaty that walks on four legs sound?" Liana shouted back.

"Sounds like dinner" Al'Dan smiled as the young female climbed down the tree just as fast as she climbed up it.

"Wow…that's meaty" Al'Dan said wide eyed as he and Liana hid in a bush by the treeline.

The field in front of them was filled with a large herd of at least 200 quadrupedal cattle like aliens. They had long bushy fur like a Yak, about twice the size of an earth Buffalo and had two pairs of curled horns like a ram. The females and young were smaller than the bulkier males, family units were easy to spot, with the females nursing their young as they grazed, and the Males sticking nearby to their mates.

The two young hunters in training made sure that they had the wind in their faces, so that their prey couldn't get a whiff of their scent. Liana and Al'Dan didn't know the extent of these creatures' senses, so it was a wise move to stay at a distance until they did.

As far as the two could tell, these quadrupeds were herbivores, not unlike earth Wildebeests or Buffaloes or Bison. They grazed in herds, and had very large nostrils, it was safe to assume they had reasonably good smell.

Though those bulky legs didn't suggest much in terms of speed.

The Alpha male was easy to spot, he was the largest at the head of the herd, with horns twice as large as the others and a few scars adorning his very bull-like face.

"I wager he wouldn't go down so easily" Al'Dan said, pointing at the Alpha male.

"No, an Alpha male like that, too dangerous, we have to pick our target wisely" Liana replied.

"They don't look to fast, then again they probably make up for it in strength and durability. Paya, I wish we had plasmacasters" Al'Dan sighed in frustration. His Machete and Liana's shivs wouldn't do enough damage to a creature of that size or mass up close and in the hands of a novice.

"We'll have to lure one away from the main group...the question is, which one?" Liana asked.

"No, the question would be how the 'Pauk do we lure away an herbivore with a herd mentality?'" Al'Dan replied, pointing out the obvious. Herbivores like the ones in front of them weren't easy to lure away from their herds, besides they didn't seem smart enough to have a sense of curiosity.

"Cjit…..well what do we do?" Liana asked.

"I don't know….maybe we could…" Al'Dan began until...

"RAAAAAAAAAAGH!" the bone chilling roar of a predator echoed through the air.

Al'Dan stopped immediately and he and Liana looked in the direction of the noise.

It seemed like the herd had other predators stalking them.

Five quadrupedal reptilians erupted from the treeline opposite them and began circling the herd, in the same way that wolves would circle a herd of deer, or how lions would circle zebra.

These new creatures were very different. Not a shred of fur or hair on their bodies but rather a coat of dark green reptilian scales, accented by spikes riding all the way from the tips of their snouts to the tips of their tails. At the sides of their heads they had fin-like frills, their long snouts full of razor sharp teeth, at the ends of their front and back legs were three long digits that bore claws just as sharp as their teeth.

The creatures were at least eleven-foot-long from the tip of the snout to the tip of the tail, though they stuck low to the ground, their bellies barely hovering above the ground. Last of all on the ends of their tails was a spike about the size of a railway spike, obviously an attack implement.

A very basic form of predator for worlds like this, but nonetheless effective in design.

The reptiles roared and snarled at the herbivores, herding them like sheep into a closely knit ball.

All of a sudden the Alpha male and seven other large males separated from the ball and formed a defence circle, giving off roars of their own, stamping and kicking the dirt like a Bull would when ready to charge. Any of the reptiles that got close would quickly get shoed away from one of the aggressive males.

The herbivores were obviously dangerous, since the Reptiles seemed hesitant to move in on the herd when faced with a large male.

The largest of the reptiles walked around the defensive circle and locked eyes with the Alpha Male, it gave off a hiss, baring its razor sharp teeth and shaking its frills in a display of power. The Alpha Male responded by stamping its feet into the ground and letting out a long roar of its own.

This large Reptile was obviously the leader of the pack. Its scales were tougher in certain places, its frills were larger and it had a distinctively larger spike on the end of its tail.

The two creatures snarled and roared at each other, the reptile hissing and shaking its frills, the Herbivore Kicking the dirt and baring its horns.

Al'Dan and Liana were fascinated by this display of nature in front of them. An Apex Predator at the head of a pack, a herd of Herbivores defending their own, this was life, the same as you could find it on any planet that supported life.

A struggle for survival.

Life in its purest form.

"I don't think we are going to get lucky here, we should probably clear out before any of them take notice of us" Al'Dan suggested.

"Good idea" Liana replied.

The two didn't need to risk their lives, perhaps they could find some smaller game, something that couldn't pose such a large threat to their lives. Maybe they could set a trap for a small mammal or maybe fashion a bow to shoot down an Avian or maybe…

*SNAP!*

Al'Dan looked down after hearing that almighty snap.

He had stepped on a branch.

And it had snapped.

"Pauk" Al'Dan cursed under his breath.

Slowly turning his head, he saw the Reptilian Predators looking in his direction. The largest of them, the Pack Leader, licking its slathering jaws at the sight of new, less dangerous prey.

"Al'Dan" Liana whispered.

"RUN!" Al'Dan shouted as he and Liana broke into a rabid sprint.

The Lead predator let out an earth shattering roar and galloped into the tree line, its pack breaking away from the heard and following it. Snarling and with slathering maws they leapt over the bushes without any difficulty, hot on the tails of their prey.

The young Yautja and the young human ran for their lives through the dense foliage, sprinting as fast as their legs could take them. Yautja and Humans may have been different in many different aspects such as physical strength, skeletal structures, skin density, but one thing they were similar in was how fast they could run.

A Human and a Yautja had very similar leg structures, both were bipeds with front facing kneecaps as well as having similar muscle structure.

It was safe to say that a Human in the peak condition of their health and a Yautja could run at relatively the same pace.

Thanks to his Yautja lifestyle, diet and training with Bul'Vyr, Al'Dan was probably going to grow to reach Olympian levels of speed, strength and agility,

If he lived long enough.

The Yautja and the Human ran as fast as their legs could take them. Hopefully they could lose the creatures in the dense foliage, but it seemed like an impossible hope as the reptiles managed to maneuverer their way around the trees and bushes with amazing reflexes.

It didn't take long for Al'Dan and Liana to get backed up into a dead end. The colossal trunk of a collapsed Tree, about 15 feet thick the tree was not by any means small, making it quite the obstacle to overcome.

An obstacle that a human couldn't traverse in time.

"CJIT! Liana, you go, I'll hold them off….or I'll try" Al'Dan said, unsheathing his machete.

Liana could easily climb over the trunk within a few seconds, Al'Dan would only slow her down, the least he could do is slow the predators down, giving his life in the process.

"I'm not leaving you behind dammit!" Liana drew two of her shivs.

Al'Dan grinned, he expected as much from the Huntress in training. He turned his attention towards the bushed in front, the rustling of leaves and branches, the trampling of heavy feet on soil, the predators weren't far off.

"Get behind me" Al'Dan told Liana.

"I'm not getting behind you, if we stand here we stand together" Liana argued. Al'Dan's train of thought was cut short when one of the Predators burst out the bushes, screeching to a halt and glaring at the Human and Yautja.

This predator was not as large as the Alpha, but it was still pretty imposing, Al'Dan and Liane reckoned they could have taken it under the right circumstances, like if they had a wide open space and didn't have the looming threat of more of the creature's pack gaining on them.

As the creature pounced, Al'Dan quickly leapt in front of Liana, shielding her with his body, neither of them ready for what happened next.

*SHINKT!*

The predator hovered in mid-air, dead.

"What the…" Al'Dan began until he noticed the dark red blood of the creature staining two long blades that emerged from its back.

The creature was hurled to the ground like a ragdoll, the strike had boned it like a fish, the force of the impact of the blade had shredded its spinal column, instantly rendering its nervous system to useless flesh.

Slowly with an electronic discharge, the empty space in front of the two Hunters in training began to shift and distort. Within a few moments, the towering, armoured form of Bul'Vyr stood in front of both Al'Dan and Liana, his extended wristblades wet with blood.

His mask looked used, battle worn, accented by three claws marks over the right eyepieces and tribal markings adorning the armour plating. The tri-laser sight of the helmet was in perfect working order and unlike the standard laser sight most masks had, his was not formed of dots but of three lines.

Al'Dan and Liana had seen the veteran Hunter without his hunting gear, he always looked grizzled and worn down but still approachable by Yautja standards. But seeing him clad in his armour, mask, wristblades and plasmacaster, really made it sink in how much he had been through. Her wore his armour like a secondary skin, it looked natural as if he was born in it, he didn't move or stand as if he was in a suit, he seemed one with all his equipment.

"Well….it seems we have a long way to go" Bul'Vyr spoke, his voice given a synthetic vibe due to his mask.

"MASTER BEHIND YOU!?" Al'Dan yelled, pointing to the approaching Predators.

With a click and a whirr, Bul'Vyr's Plasmacaster sprang to life and autoaimed at the approaching predators, firing off a Plasma Bolt.

*WHIIICRACK!*

The Plasma Bolt pierced through the nearest Predator, burning through its soft underbelly and cooking its innards. The creature dropped dead with a thud, and at the sight of this new threat, the other Predators turned tail and ran.

The Alpha however didn't run, it screeched to a halt and snarled, drool running down its jaws.

Bul'Vyr turned at this and instead of firing off another Plasma Bolt he arched his back, spread his arms, extended wrist blades on both gauntlets and let out a long and powerful roar.

A display of power from one Alpha to another.

The Alpha reptile seemed to be put off by the bravado of the Yautja, after seeing what happened to two of its pack. One lying dead at Bul'Vyr's feet, another with a smoking hole in its mid-section a few feet away.

In a situation like this the Alpha fancied its chances with the bison like creatures.

It turned tail and galloped away into the bush.

Bul'Vyr turned back to Al'Dan and Liana, he seemed to scan the two of them looking up and down at them.

"….Was….was this a test?" Al'Dan asked.

"Yes….yes it was…" Bul'Vyr replied.

"….and?" Liana asked bluntly.

"You failed" Bul'Vyr replied flatly before bending down and grabbing the creature he had killed by the tail and flung it over his shoulder.

"Come on, you two need some food in your bellies. From what I've seen, we have some ways to go before you two are hunting material" Bul'Vyr said before he began to walk away. Al'Dan and Liana quickly following him as he made his way back to the ship.

*1 Hour Later

Al'Dan and Liana looked like piranhas, stripping flesh from bone as they devoured the cooked meat of the reptile. Liana's mandibles doing a great job of tearing the reptilian meat from the leg that she held in front of her, Al'Dan's omnivorous teeth slicing through meat with just as much efficiency.

It was an odd thing to say but, the Young Boy ate much cleaner than the Young Girl.

Especially when the girl was a Yautja and the boy was a Human.

Bul'Vyr watched the two fill their faces, they were voracious with the amount of meat they stuffed their faces with. The old hunter smirked, his mask no longer covering his face, now hanging from his belt.

The night sky was bright and colourful, stars and constellations lighting up the vast quilt of darkness that was space.

The reptile was skewered over the camp fire, its flesh sizzling as it cooked over the flame, Bul'Vyr had skinned the creature and was already fashioning it into something usable. A true Hunter made full use of his prey, flesh, bones, skin, hides, fur, claws, teeth, everything was usable.

"I'll admit, you two did well on a few counts" Bul'Vyr spoke up, making Al'Dan and Liana stop eating and listen.

"Al'Dan that was a good idea using the vantage point of a tree to scout out the surroundings. But when hunting in a group it is unwise to split up, always keep your comrades in your sights and be able to reach them or have them reach you" Bul'Vyr continued, still tanning the hide on his lap.

"But Master, I can't climb like a Yautja, there's no way I could follow Liana" Al'Dan replied.

"A problem that we shall have to remedy as soon as possible" Bul'Vyr replied without a moment's hesitation.

"Master, are you sure I can do this? Won't me being a Ooman get in the way of me becoming a hunter?" Al'Dan asked, it was a question that constantly circled the young boy's head, it wasn't like a simple differentiation of skin colour or race that got in the way, he was genetically weaker in so many ways to a male Yautja of his age.

He was physically weaker.

His skin was soft and weak compared to a Yautja's skin.

His lifespan was much shorter than a Yautja's.

He lacked the Yautja's natural endurance to pain.

He lacked claws on his hands and feet.

His teeth were less formidable than a Yautja's mandible tusks.

Overall Al'Dan was not a Yautja and he couldn't hope to be.

No amount of training or speaking could change that.

"I'll have you know Al'Dan…in my past, some of my greatest Opponents on the battlefield were Oomans" Bul'Vyr replied.

"You were in the war?" Al'Dan asked with sudden excitement, Liana perked up too, she didn't hear her Uncle speak much of his involvement in the war.

"Yes I was. I wasn't just some foot soldier, I was an Elite warrior, belonging to an Elite Squadron with six other Yautja. There was myself, Liana's father Gra'Vyr, Xen'Tau of the Tal'ven clan, Ha'Vir and his sister Yaa'Vir from the Dark Blade clan and our leader, Kru'Kex; an Elder of the Hara'Vex clan" Bul'Vyr explained.

"The Hara'Vex clan?" Al'Dan asked. He had heard of the Dark Blade clan, what Yautja hadn't? and he knew of the Tal'Ven clan, a large and varied clan that was well represented across the universe.

"They were known for their habits on hunting the most dangerous prey imaginable, most Hunters know their limits, but not hunters of the Hara'Vex clan, once they have a target in mind then nothing will stop them until either they or their prey is dead. You could tell he was part of the clan because his armour was bright red, as all Hunters of that clan would pain their armour red to frighten their enemies or anger their prey" Bul'Vyr explained. His Hunting Master at the time was not the most restrained individual, but he could surely hold his own in a fight.

"It was one specific mission, nearing the end of the war. Our unit was sent to investigate dissension amongst the Ooman ranks, apparently a large section of their more religious populations had begun worshiping Kainde Amedha as if they were deities" Bul'Vyr said.

"Worship?" Al'Dan asked. He could not believe that humans could worship the creatures that destroyed everything around them like gods, then again human customs were as foreign to him as anything else.

"They sent a squadron of their most skilled warriors to exterminate the cultists before they could convert one of their colonies into a Hive…those warriors, they were some of the most skilled fighters I have ever seen, and I've seen Yautja that personally serve the King, Dwavarian Shock troops and Kamad Elites, I know skilled warriors when I see them" Bul'Vyr replied, remembering the skill of the human soldiers, they had to be seen to be believed.

"What were the Ooman warriors called?" Liana asked. Most elite units had their own names, a title to be feared by the enemy, a name that would strike fear into their opponents. Most species with military elites followed this rule, Yautja included, the Dark Blades didn't get their names for fun after all.

"Myrmidons, that's what they called themselves. They wore armour as black as midnight and fought like demons, they showed no fear in combat, they wielded their weapons as if they were apart of them, like the sting of an insect or the tooth of a hellhound. One Myrmidon in particular…. their leader, I crossed blades with him….he was one of only 5 beings to ever push me past my limits since I became an Elite" Bul'Vyr continued, his reverence for the warrior he spoke of was evident in his tone.

Bul'Vyr bore no love for the Myrmidons that killed his fellow Yautja, but that didn't mean he couldn't hold respect and admiration for a worthy opponent.

"The point Al'Dan, is that if those Oomans could rise to become that great….so can you. I've found that your species is brimming with potential, a potential I intend on seeing you tap into" Bul'Vyr said, part of him looking forward to seeing what he could mould Al'Dan into.

Al'Dan was lucky that he was a human, as opposed to any of the other of the myriad alien races that were considered 'beneath Yautja' humans at least were great as doing one thing: Adapt.

"Finish your meals, then get some sleep. You will need it for the morning" Bul'Vyr stood up and walked over to the ship, assumedly to put away the reptile hide.

Al'Dan looked to Liana, whom still had reptile flesh hanging from one of her mandibles. "Liana, you have something…" Al'Dan pointed to her mandible, the female noticed and promptly wiped her face clean.

The young Human and the young Yautja went to bed within their shared tent, Al'Dan fidgeting with his sleeping bag, trying to get comfortable while Liana lay down as if contemplating something. Usually Yautja slept in the nude, but during hunting trips they had to be at the ready at a moment's notice, Al'Dan slept in his trousers, boots and wore his knife belt, a dagger planted in the ground next to him.

Liana wore a simple hide wrapping to cover her breasts and beneath her covers she wore a leather skirt. Yautja didn't make a habit of wearing boots, sandles maybe but never boots, Al'Dan only wore boots because his human feet lacked the thick reptilian scales of Yautja feet. Close to her she had a belt, within lay a dozen shivs of varying sizes.

"Al'Dan" Liana spoke up. Still looking up with her back to the ground.

"Yeah? You having trouble sleeping?" Al'Dan asked, still struggling with his sleeping bag.

"Not really, just…. wondering" Liana replied.

"Wondering what?" Al'Dan asked.

"Why…why did you get in front of me? If Uncle Bul'Vyr hadn't been there you would've been killed" Liana asked.

"I…I uh…didn't want you to get hurt. Besides, between the two of us you are the one most likely to become a full blooded Hunter" Al'Dan replied, finally settling down and finding a comfortable position to lie in.

"...Oh….so you figured that I have more of a right to survive?" Liana asked.

"Yeah" Al'Dan replied.

"You aren't that good at lying, Al'Dan" Liana smirked, finally looking at her human companion.

Al'Dan blushed at the smile that the beautiful young Yautja gave him and quickly turned on his side, his back to her. he didn't want Liana to see him so flustered, but when he heard her giggle, he knew he had failed to cover his ass.

"…Thank you, Al'Dan" Liana smiled before curling up in her sleeping bag.

Al'Dan hoped this week wouldn't last too long.

Ok everybody, hope you enjoyed this latest chapter of Al'Dan, this story is always great for some AU (Asclepheus Universe, not alternate universe) World building. I've managed to introduce the concept of the Myrmidons to Al'Dan (trust me, it won't be the last) reinforced some Kamad lore and a bit of Dwavarian stuff.

ALSO – the story of Bul'Vyr and his Myrmidon opponents…..it's going to be the first Asclepheus One Shot…..Look out for it everybody :D
