"You realize that this is unprecedented."

"Not really, TVA coworkers marry each other all the time, it saves having to reset the timeline after a bad date."

"Well, yes but," Ravonna sighed as she looked up at her oldest friend," none of them have ever married a Variant."

Mobius knew she meant well, but this was something he wanted more than anything in the universe, and nothing was going to stop him.

"There's no rule against it, Ravonna, I've checked. Honestly, I'm not sure I'd care if there was."

"You love him that much?"

"I do."

She shook her head and smiled as she signed off on the required documents.

"Okay, okay, you can marry Loki. But, if he breaks your heart, I'll prune him myself."

"I'd expect nothing less."

Mobius came out of the judge's office to find a worried looking Loki waiting for him.

"Mobius! There you are! What's going on? Is there a problem with our next mission? Why were you...ooof!"

The God was quickly cut off from his tangent by Mobius's lips against his. When the agent finally pulled back, he was pleased to see his lover had been struck silent.

"Man if I knew this was the best way to render you speechless, I'd have done it the first day you showed up."

"As I recall, that is exactly what you did."

"You complaining?"

"Of course not," He laughed before his expression turned serious, " but seriously, Moby, I was worried that Renslayer was going to punish you for something."

"Nah, Ravonna acts mean but she's actually a big softie. I did get her permission on something rather important though, so we should get going."

"Going where?"

"You'll see."

They stepped out of the orange portal onto a quiet beach with dark purple sand. Loki recognized it as one of his favorite places from his childhood.

"This is the amethyst shore in Alfheim, what are we doing here?"

"You told me once that out of all the places you'd been, you loved this one the most."

"It is, mother and I used to sit on this beach and watch the fireworks display from the light Elves's marriage celebrations..."

Loki stopped and his eyes went wide at the possible implications.

"Mobius...what exactly did you ask Judge Renslayer to approve?"

"Permission to do this.."

Mobius got down on one knee and pulled a box out of his pocket, and opened it to reveal a silver band with a small piece of the Tesseract embedded into it.

"Mobius..."

"Loki, for so long, my life was pretty stagnant. Then you showed up, and brought chaos and excitement along with you. The time we've spent together has been the best thing I've ever experienced, and I never want to let that go. No matter what kind of ending is written for the end of time, I know that I'll be okay as long I'm with you. So, Loki Laufeyson, God of Mischief and ruler of my heart, will you do me the honor of becoming my husband for all of eternity?"

Loki let out a sob and sank to his knees in front of the agent, cupping his face in his hands.

"Are you sure you truly want this...with me? What if I end up just being a mistake that gets in your way?"

"Oh Loki, you could never be in my way, because you are my way. I don't want this with anyone else, ever."

"Then yes, yes, of course I'll marry you."

Loki let Mobius go so he could remove the ring from the box and slip it onto his finger. He smiled at the familiar blue glow as he wiggled his fingers.

"So, the Tesseract, huh?"

"Well you two always did have a long, interesting relationship. I figured you'd want to keep part of that."

The God shook his head in laughter before wrapping his arms around his fiancé.

"I love you, Moby."

"I love you too, Lo, for all time."

"Always."

They cuddled together on the shore, and since it wasn't time for the festivals just yet, Loki decided to light up the sky with a fireworks spell of his own. He nuzzled into the other man's neck, and reveled in how good it felt to love and be loved in return. This man...this infuriating and wonderful man, had finally given him something that no glorious purpose could provide.

Mobius gave him forever...and forever felt pretty damn good.
