It was nearing 11 PM, Freed promised he'd be back by that time and as well all know he is a man of his word. Freed stood up dusting his coat and pants off from the ground, he walked back to the house with a small skip in his step. He found out some amazing and life changing information! And he couldn't wait to tell Laxus, Bickslow and Evergreen!
Freed slipped the key out from his coat pocket and gently unlocked the door, he turned the knob and was immediately bombarded with a hug from Amber, "Freed! You're home! I got worried! Can you help me open a can of beans now?".
Freed chuckled at Amber, "Are Laxus and Bickslow here? I need to show them something.".
Amber tilted her head sweetly, "Nope! Last time I saw they were parading Margaret around the guild hall with Evergreen and Cana. She's very patient for a baby!".
Freed smiled at the thought of Laxus and Bickslow talking up Margaret to their guild mates, "Hey have you seen this before?" Freed turned his attention back to Amber and the book in his arms.
"Oh! Yeah I have! I wrote my name in it too!" Amber beamed innocently.
Freed's face went pale.
"Y-you w-wrote your n-name in a piece of h-historical literature, and an artifact no less!" Freed stuttered out slightly angry and Amber's complete obliviousness to the book's importance.
"Yeahhhhhh? Cia said I could since I'm her friend! She said it was a year book! A book to document things over the years! And she said she wanted all of us to write our names down so she could remember us when we're gone- her and Zeph Zeph are much older than the rest of us and will live on even beyond our deaths!"
"How much do you know about them Amber?" Freed sat down on the couch patting next to him for her to sit.
She flutters over and flops down resting her head on Freed's thigh, "Ummmmmmm I know Zeph is older than Cia... and I know Cia is cursed... they both come from some place called like Magvel, it's in the sky, I lived there once when I was really young and spent like 5 years there."
Freed's eyes widened, "You've been there?!".
Amber was taken aback by his reaction, "Uh yeah? There isn't anything special there besides a sealed deity woman and a dying old gold dragon."
"Holy... how did you get there?!" Freed looked like he was going to explode with joy and sadness at the same time.
"Mmmmmm don't remember." Amber yawned and cuddled Freed.
Freed let out a breath of annoyance yet he couldn't be that angry, he did learn it was at least accessible! He knew what his next step was but he was dreading doing it.
"I heard from the yearbook that Mount Zonia is where you could access the city before, does that ring any bells?" Freed questioned Amber.
"Nope, we did do a lot of walking though, OH! The city is where I learned my magic! If that helps..." Amber laughed a bit.
"No... it does help Amber, don't worry, I know you already know this because of your weird memory merging magic but... it's been a dream of mine to improve my runes and the only way that could happen is if I visited the great empire in the sky..." Freed sighed.
"And what about the guild there?" Amber brought up.
"What do you mean?" Freed asked
"You know Apollo's fury, the legendary guild known for its first master Apollo? You can still join it. I'm sure Apollo's still up there sleeping and waiting for Cia and Zeph to come back." Amber replied.
Freed hadn't thought about that... Fairy Tail was his home for many years but the amount of confidence and strength he could get from joining the great guild in the sky.
"What are you thinking Amber?" Freed asked looking down at his little sister.
"Fairy tail was never a permanent thing, I guess we all were waiting to jump ship when we found a better safer place for us. While Magnolia and Fairy Tail are great, the lack of trust and glares we get from time to time unsettles the lot of us. We don't exactly fit in... and I think you yourself know that Freed. The dragon-slayers especially don't like us, the glares poor Fuyuko gets from Natsu are unrivaled."
Freed frowned stroking her hair with his right hand, "You bearing the Raven Tail name is certainly not helping your case, as for me... I'm unsure, I need to understand what to expect before making any life changing decisions like that."
Amber grabs onto Freed's face, "But the food there is amazinggggggggg, the rare sky spices make your tongue bounce around, and they have honey that grow on trees! And not because of bees it comes from the trunk! Oh! And the books! The castle library is crazy!"
"I didn't take you for a bookworm." Freed smirked at his sister.
"I'm not! But the smell is amazinggggggggg, and the look of pure bliss on your face would be the greatest thing ever!" Amber beamed, "So, when we undoubtedly leave someday... come with us!"
Freed smiled at Amber, he was touched, everything about her was wholesome, it could warm the coldest of hearts.
The door swung open, Freed turned his head towards it, and in stepped an incredibly tired looking Laxus carrying a still sleeping Margaret.
"Bicks having another all nighter with Gray and Elfman?" Freed asked.
"Yep, I pity Mira and Lisanna, they're in charge of making sure they don't ruin the new carpet gramps put by the bar. Also that crackhead douche-bag Samael is joining em, something about playing quarters and gambling." Laxus rubbed the back of his neck with his free hand, "At least we can have some alone time, first time since we did all that sappy shit eh?" Laxus smirked.
Amber's eyes widened at Freed, the greenette looked between Amber and Laxus in a panic.
"Yo you good?" Laxus asked raising a concerned brow.
Amber sat up revealing herself to Laxus, "Ahem? Care to explain what you mean?".
Laxus's face went pale, "H-hey at least it wasn't Bicks or Ever who found out!" Laxus nervously chuckled.
"Why are you hiding exactly? And most importantly why did you call Sammi a douche bag?" Amber's eye twitched her face still hiding behind a smile.
Amber was always good at hiding behind a smile but Freed knew she was pissed.
"Yeah what you're assuming is correct, I wanna fuck your brother, got a problem with that?" Laxus scowled at her.
"Oh I could care less what you do with him, it's the picking on Sammi that I won't tolerate!" her eye twitches again.
While Freed was glad she didn't care about what they were doing he was also kind of hurt... he thought he'd get a better response than that from his little sister.
"Hey! Hey! No fighting!" Freed stood up getting between them.
"I could care less about her, I could crush her with my bare hands if I wanted to, I can call you lot what I want, you may be have been helping my old man but it doesn't mean I owe you anything." Laxus glared, "I'm still suspicious of your sudden appearance and sudden inclusion into our lives, related to Freed or not you undoubtedly have raised our concerns and its my job to protect those I care about." Laxus huffed.
Freed widens his eyes at Laxus' honesty, he rarely showed this side, his devotion to Fairy Tail... it made him admire Laxus even more... Freed smiled at Laxus genuinely but then he heard a small squeak and Freed turned his attention back to Amber... who was crying. She rubbed her eyes with the back of her left hand where her mark is, Laxus remained still and stoic holding his ground a slightly stirring Margaret in his arms.
"Y-y'know Freed, I-I think t-that what we were talking about... is gonna happen a lot sooner than I thought." she sniffled, "Y-you two have your fun... I-I'll find somewhere else to stay...".
Freed gives Amber a somber look, "Ambrosia.." Freed opens his arms to offer her a hug.
Amber gives Freed one final glance before leaving their home, Freed putting his arms down with a sigh, "Could you have put that any nicer?!".
"I was honest, I wasn't the only one thinking it, trust me even Mira is unsettled with a few of em and we know how welcoming she is." Laxus replied earnestly.
Freed flopped onto the couch again with a groan, Laxus sighing sitting next to him.
"So you don't wanna fuck?" Laxus raised a brow.
Freed smacked Laxus's face with a pillow.
Nice going Laxus.
