Sarah couldn't exactly hear what was being said at the front door but she knew it was Nathaniel.
"Oh shit, no." She thought.
Sarah hurried to the front door as quick as she could. She looked at John.
"I don't know what he told you but he's lying." Sarah said.
"I'm not lying." "We're married." Nathaniel said.
"I know you won't give her a divorce." John said.
"Do you know that I still come over sometimes?" He looked at Sarah. "You must've told me the wrong days."
"No, John, he's lying." Sarah said.
"Why do you do this to me Sarah?" "It hurts."
"Get out."
Nathaniel looked at John. "I bet she told you her last name was Knable when you first met her." "It's not, it's Williamson."
"Only because you won't divorce me."
"You know that's not really what you want."
"Yes it is."
"Then why did we make love in your office last week?"
"You saw him last week?" John asked Sarah.
"Stop lying, you know that's not what happened." Sarah said. "I told you to get out, the same thing I'm telling you now and that's it."
"Really?" "Then why didn't you tell John about it?"
"That's enough." John said protectively stepping in front of Sarah. "She told you to leave."
"I'll go." Nathaniel said. "It looks like you two have a lot to talk about." He left.
John closed the door and turned to Sarah.
"Why didn't you tell me you saw him last week?" John asked.
"I'm sorry." "I just didn't want to ruin our days together." "We get so few of them." "You have to believe me, we didn't sleep together." "He's lying."
"I know he is." "I just wish you would've told me about seeing him."
"I'm sorry."
"Come here." They hugged.
"I hate him." "I just hope he doesn't scare you away to."
"That'll never happen."
Two days later Nathaniel was in his office at work. His intercom buzzed.
"Sarah is here to see you." The voice on the other end said.
"Send her in." Sarah walked in. "Hi." "This is a surprise."
"Nathaniel, I came here to appeal to you as a human being." Sarah said. "Please give me a divorce."
"No."
"Why?"
"I love you."
"No you don't."
"Why do you want a divorce?" "So you can marry John?"
"This has nothing to do with John." "Even if I wanted to, you've taken that choice away from me." "It's been years Nathaniel, it's over."
"If I give you a divorce, I want something in return." He said standing up, coming around his desk and standing in front of her.
"What?"
"If you sleep with me one more time, I'll give you the divorce."
"You're disgusting."
"I'm serious." "Think about it." She left.
