It wasn't long before the creatures of Grimm managed to scale the walls surrounding Mantle. Sabers pounced and landed at the streets of the lower city. Huntsmen and Huntresses created a perimeter to protect the citizens. As the Grimm ran to attack, some of them were gunned down. Of course, the Grimm were able to learn from them and outmaneuver them.

The leading Huntsman jumped back in fear after watching one of his own men getting mauled. He pulled a Huntress over to him.

"We need to do something! Call for reinforcements!"

"Does Atlas even know what's happening here?" the Huntress asked.

"Do we?"

Suddenly, Captain Remnant appeared from above. He landed on the ground shield first landing on it. He approached the two.

"I need Huntsmen in these buildings." Captain Remnant said. "There are people inside that can run into the line of fire. You take them through the basement or through the subway. You keep them off the streets. I need a perimeter as far back as 39th."

"Why the hell should I take orders from you?" the Huntsman asked.

His answer came when a Saber pounced. Cap quickly grabbed its claw and twisted it before flipping the Grimm onto its back. He then thrusted his shield down onto its neck decapitating it. His point was made clear.

The Huntsman turned to his comrades. "I need Huntsmen in those buildings. Lead the people down and away from the streets. I need a perimeter as far back as 39th."

Captain Remnant turned back to face the Grimm that was closing in. Just then, a distant light fading caught his attention. He turned and saw the barrier shield around the city above flicker. It wasn't long until it completely died down.

"What happened?" General Ironwood asked the technicians on his computer screen.

"Well… We don't know!" the technician replied. "One of the generators just stopped being operational! I don't know!"

"This is bad." Ozpin said. He tightly gripped his cane while Bruce Banner shivered behind him. "Without those shields, this whole city will be at risk."

"I've already sent most of my forces down at Mantle." Ironwood said. "If I pull back now, the city below is going to be defenseless."

Bruce was shaken. He realized now would be a good time to take his new pills. He unscrewed the bottle top and spilled one out of his hand. He was about to take it, but then something flashed in his head. All the Grimm out there are going to need something big to stop them. He took a moment to stare at his pill before deciding to throw it to the ground. He turned to exit the door.

Ironwood noticed. "Dr. Banner, what are you doing?"

"You said the city needs a defense, general." Bruce said. "I know a large source of anger that'll keep the Grimm away from Atlas." He continued his run down the hallway.

"Natasha, keep an eye on him." Ironwood said.

"Yes, sir." Black Widow said following the doctor.

"This day is turning strange, James." Ozpin said.

"I know." Ironwood said. "We're going to need a miracle to survive this."

A herd of Goliath Grimm stampeded into the slum town. They roared and bellowed as they stomped down everything in their path. Behind them, Beowulves searched the corners for prey. They found a whole family cowering in a street corner and prepared to pounce. The seven beasts were about to tear the humans apart when a sudden flash of lightning stopped them.

A burst of several lightning bolts struck right through all the Grimm at once. They turned into dust and Thor landed in their place with his hammer freshly covered in lightning. He approached the family and helped them back to their feet.

"Head three blocks in that direction." Thor instructed pointing his hammer. "There are shelters set up for you."

The father of the family nodded and lead his family out of the street. Behind Thor, a large Manticore locked eyes on him and began to charge. But when a missile hit it from behind, the Grimm turned growling in anger at Iron Man who hovered behind him.

"Well, we got its attention." Iron Man said. "What was step two?" The Grimm roared charging at Iron Man. The armored avenger flew down the street trying to escape its sight. "This is why my mom wanted me to get a dog."

Iron Man stopped at a dead end and turned back at the Manticore. Underneath his helmet, Tony Stark smiled. He puffed out his chest and his arc reactor began to glow.

"SAY HELLO TO MY LITTLE FRIEND!" Iron Man shouted just before a powerful burst of light shot out of his chest. It made direct impact into the Grimm's face piercing right through it. It turned into dust as Iron Man landed on the ground to rest. Thor flew on over to him.

"Are you all right?" Thor asked.

"I'm okay." Tony answered with a deep breath. "I'm just a little exhausted. Using a beam like that takes a lot out of my suit. I just need a few moments to readjust."

"We may not have a few moments." Thor said. "These beasts are attacking…"

CRASH!

A Sabre Grimm burst out of a nearby wall back-first and landed on the street behind Thor. He and Iron Man also stared when Captain Remnant was revealed to be on top of the Grimm pressing his shield down on it. He got off and met up with them.

"Well, now, I've seen everything."

"You must be Steve Rogers." Iron Man said. "Hi. I'm Tony Stark."

"Stark?" Captain Remnant asked. "As in Howard…"

"Yeah, he's my dad. Not the best dad if you ask me."

Captain Remnant turned to the demigod. "And you are…"

"I am Thor, son of Odin. Pray tell, how did you perform such a feat as you did just now? Is it your… 'Semblance' I believe you call it?"

"He's a supersoldier, blondie." Iron Man said. "He's supposed to do all that."

"I take it you're here to help too?" Captain Remnant guessed.

"Aye." Thor replied. "Let us lay waste to these…"

He was interrupted by the distant roar. The three of them ran over to a more open part of the town to get a good look at the field just outside of the city limits. Much to their shock, the massive winged Grimm, the Wyvern, revealed itself roaring so hard, it shook the very ground they stood on.

"What madness is this?" Thor asked.

"It's a Wyvern." Iron Man said. "Basically, it's a winged Grimm factory with a bad attitude."

The Wyvern roared again before hovering upward. Every piece of itself it dropped created more and more Grimm. It raised both of its wings and flapped them hard toward the city. Drips of it were thrown right into the city. A few bits of it were even heading to where the three heroes were. They raised their weapons to prepare… but they didn't have to.

Before the pieces hit the three, they were saved by a small flash of yellow that blew up the chunks. Any Grimm created nearby was instantly knocked back too.

"What trickery is this?" Thor asked.

"I have a feeling we're not the only good Samaritans." Captain Remnant said.

Iron Man used his visor to zoom in. He found the two that saved them: Ant-Man and the Wasp. Wasp shot her tasers at the Grimm pieces while Ant-Man pushed the Grimm away while they were coming to life. When they were both done, they approached the other three heroes and returned to their normal sizes.

"I don't believe it!" Scott called out. "I know you guys! You're great!"

"Thanks. Tell me something I don't know, like who you are." Tony said.

"Right. I'm Scott Lang, also known as Ant-Man. This here is my partner, Hope Van Dyne, also known as the Wasp."

"So you guys shrink?" Iron Man asked. "Kind of a lame ability if you ask me."

"Hey, we just saved you guys, didn't we?" Wasp asked.

"We're glad to have allies with us." Captain Remnant said.

They were about to get more help. An Atlesian airship hovered down from above. It landed on the ground and the back door opened up. Both Bruce Banner and Natasha Romanoff stepped out. Natasha readied her pistol while Bruce took a deep breath.

"Who do we got now?" Captain Remnant asked.

"I'm Agent Romanoff. This here is Bruce Banner."

"Great. And what do you two do other than look good in red hair and rock a pair of glasses?" Iron Man asked.

"You'll see." Bruce said.

Just then, the ground shook once more. This time, it came from a stampede of Goliaths that turned from the corner running toward them.

"Now might be a good time for you to get angry, Dr. Banner." Natasha said.

Bruce took a few steps in front of the Avengers making sure he was facing the upcoming Grimm. He looked back at the Atlas agent.

"That's my secret, Nat. I'm always angry."

As he turned back to the Grimm as they closed in, his skin quickly changed to green and his short tore from his rapidly growing muscles. He raised both of his hands and once he went to his complete size, he slapped them together creating a boom strong enough to knock every last Goliath far from him.

Scott stared in surprised. "I think I just peed a little."

"Men who turn into ogres on Midgard?" Thor asked. "How bizarre."

The heroes looked around seeing many creatures of Grimm climbing on top of the buildings and snarling. Even the Wyvern turned its face directly at them. Every last Grimm roared and the Hulk roared back. He stood beside the other heroes who readied themselves; Thor with his hammer, Captain Remnant with his shield, Iron man with his armor, Ant-Man and the Wasp with their suits, and Black Widow with her gauntlets.

At the main office, both Ironwood and Ozpin watched through the Mantle security cameras. They were both very astonished as they saw the heroes grouping up against the Grimm invasion.

"What are we looking at?" Ironwood asked.

Ozpin smiled. "An opportunity."

The general nodded and pressed his call button. "Attention, all Atlas personnel! This is a direct order from your general! Gather any remaining Mantle civilians and fall back to the city! I repeat, evacuate and fall back! Reinforcements have arrived!" He repeated his order deciding to let the heroes handle the invasion.

"These guys seem to have their attention focused on us." Ant-Man said. "Think they know we're a threat?"

"We may be, but they're more likely focusing on the Hulk." Black Widow said. "He's a massive spike of anger and negativity."

"That must be a nightmare." Iron Man said.

"Or a good thing." Captain Remnant said. "As long as we have the Hulk, we can keep the Grimm away from the civilians. All right, I have a game plan. Hear me out?"

"Well, I have no plan." Wasp said.

"Lead on, captain." Thor said.

"All right. Our first focus is keeping the people safe. We have to draw the Grimm away from the evacuation areas. Lang, Van Dyne, you two head on over to the shelters. If any Grimm straggles and heads toward them, catch them by surprise."

"Did we bring Ant-thony?" Ant-Man asked his partner.

"I figured you'd want to show him to your daughter." Wasp nodded.

"Stark, you take the skies and light those monsters up." Captain Remnant continued. "Thor, you're our biggest source of firepower, so we're counting on you for this next part. You gotta shorten the entrance gap for the Grimm. We can bottleneck them there. Romanoff, you and me will stay here and take out any ground forces. And Hulk…" The green giant turned furiously to Cap who pointed up at the Wyvern. "Smash."

The Hulk gave a proud grin before leaping up in great height. He landed on a rooftop and took out a few Grimm that tried to pounce on him. He then rammed himself through a window to smash any Grimm he can. While he did that, the rest of the heroes rushed to different directions following their captain's commands.
