A/N: Hey, there all my happening listeners! It's me! Your favorite DJ, MBAV fan66! And I'm here to mix you up another awesome, sick tune! :D
So, this one comes to us from my main homie and fanfic buddy, TiredOfBeingNice. She requested the song, but the pairing is all me. She left what pairing to use up to me and well...I was sort a struggling a bit on which one to do besides bethan. So, I went back and took a gander at the other songfics before this one to see what pairings I've used the most and least. And well...I found that I have only done ONE Ethica songfic! Can you believe it?! :o So, I decided to go for that pairing, instead! :D So, I hope that's alright with you TOBN? ;)
Now, this lovely tune will be an AU one. Also, I will forewarn you all now, but the MBAV characters that will be mentioned in this songfic will totally be out of character from their norm. At least...(spoiler alert) Sarah and Erica will be, that is. Other than that, I'm pretty sure Ethan won't be straying from his original personality too much. I hope. :/ Also, Sarah and Erica DO NOT already know each other in this, as well. As far as they know, they're complete strangers to one another and aren't already best friends.
Anyways, I hope you all enjoy the latest and newest tune to MBAV One-Shots Radio! :D
Shout outs to:

jessicak71307- Thanks for adding this story to your favorites and follow lists! :D Also, I made a mistake when I told you that your request was going to be songfic #44. Sorry. *blushes bashfully in shame* Instead your request will be a bit more sooner than that. It'll be songfic #43, instead! :D And I'm glad you liked the the previous songfic. I hope you'll like this one, as well. :D Oh, and also thanks for following and favoriting me as an author, too! And for following and favoriting my story, MBAV Season 2 Tails Of Fun! :)
Guest- Thanks! I'm glad you liked it! :D
TiredOfBeingNice- Lol! He was just caught up in the moment, I guess. That and maybe a little bit drunk, too. Lol! But yeah! Thankfully, the whole thing was an eye-opener for him and caused him to get his shit together and hopefully salvage what little of relationship he had left with Ethan, in the end! Yeah, once I read the lyrics it sort a gave me a different message from how they used it in the movie. To me, it just sounded more...darker in depth, but with their being a light at the end of the towel as long as you never give up hope. I don't know. That's just what I got and ran with! Lol! ;P Anyways, I hope you enjoy your songfic request, fanfic buddy! :D
Bennyweirlover17- Awe! *blushes* Thanks! :D I'm so happy that you loved it! Oh, and thanks for the reviews on two other of the chapters/songfics on here, as well! I really appreciate it! :)
Erin Means Peace- Thanks for adding this story to your favorites list! And for adding me to your follow list as an author! :D
Disclaimer: I do not own My Babysitter's A Vampire or any of it's characters. I also don't own the song used in this songfic, either. Those rights belong to their creators. What I do own, though, is this story and the mini plot in this songfic.
Songfic #41
Song: Unintended
Artist: Muse
Pairing: Ethan/Erica
Ethan Morgan was feeling like crap, as he sat there at the bar in some local bar establishment with his drink. He was feeling down, as the girl he was engaged to for months now had just suddenly dumped him. He probably should've seen it coming for a while now, but instead he refused to believe it. Ethan had thought that maybe, just maybe they could work things out, as all they've been doing lately is bickering and arguing at one another.
Sarah Fox was the girl of his dreams. Has been since high school, when they first met each other and fell in love. She was his first and only crush in the world and the day they started dating was the day he felt the most happiest he's ever been.
But now...that has all change.
You could be my unintended
Choice to live my life extended
You could be the one I'll always love
You could be the one who listens to my deepest inquisitions
You could be the one I'll always love
Things were great at first, as they couldn't get enough of each other. Then later on he popped the big question to her and she had of course said yes to him. They both were just so over joyed with love and excitement, until...things started to go south.
Sarah suddenly started to want more from him. Always nagging him about how much money he makes and how he needs to grow up and ditch all of his geeky collectible stuff and to be man for once in his life. She started to spend more money on pointless things and would constantly tell him how all the little things he ever does for her aren't good enough anymore for her. She wanted more. She wanted to live a life with all the nicer things in it, which was something Ethan couldn't do. In his eyes, you didn't need all those things just to have love. He was a simple man, who wanted to live a simple life.
But Sarah didn't want that. Next thing they knew, they were always arguing and fighting with each other. Till one day...Sarah just called it quits and gave the ring back to him. She said that she was done with him and his crappy way of living. Then she walked out, but not before Ethan saw her get into some guy's car (who he didn't recognize) and leave.
That day, was when Ethan's heart broke in two.
I'll be there as soon as I can
But I'm busy mending broken pieces of the life I had before
Now, he sat alone. Drinking his drink, as he finally began to feel the effects of the alcohol starting to hit him a little. He wasn't drunk yet or buzzed yet, but he was slowly getting there. Right now, he was still sober a little.
While sitting there, a pretty lady with blonde hair came up beside him and took the seat next him, ordering her beverage of choice. He wasn't sure if it was the alcohol talking or not, but he thought she looked gorgeous. But decided against making a move on her, as he was still too caught up in drowning away his sorrows in alcohol. So, he remained silent and just ignored her presence there.
That is, until she was the one who decided to strike up a conversation with him, as she turned to him and smiled.
"Good night to go out and have a nice drink or two, huh?" she said warmly in a kind tone.
Ethan glanced over at her with a smirk. "You could say that. But not for me." he scoffed at her, taking a drink from his glass. "In fact, this entire day has been anything BUT good to me." he added sarcastically, as he took another sip from his drink.
First there was the one who challenged
All my dreams and all my balance
She could never be as good as you
The woman frowned for a minute, but then smirked at him. "I may not be the bartender, but um...you wanna talk about it? I'm a great listener." she asked carefully, but in a playful and light joking manner. Once she received her drink from the bartender the lady took a drink.
Ethan just looked over at her, not really sure if he felt comfortable spilling his guts to a complete stranger who he just met. Giving it some thought he just shrugged. "Eh, why not." he said, looking back down at his glass and seeing it almost empty now. He swished the ice and what little liquid he had left in it, around a little. "Not like I could feel anymore worse than I already am. So, what the heck." replied Ethan, taking a drink and finishing off the last bit of his beverage.
The woman smiled and then motioned to the bartender to pour another drink for her 'friend' here. After that she then turned back to face Ethan. "This one's on me." she said sincerely.
Ethan smiled gratefully at her and then mumbled a quick 'thanks' at her, accepting the drink and taking a sip from it.
"Before I begin my tale of 'oh, woe is me.' I guess I should be a gentleman and tell the pretty lady, who's so nice enough to offer and buy me another drink, my name then, huh?" declared Ethan politely in a half joking manner with a smile, making the woman blush and giggle. "The name's Ethan." he then introduced to her, holding out a hand for a friendly handshake.
The woman smiled sweetly back at him then, as she shook his hand and introduced herself, as well. "Erica."
You could be my unintended
Choice to live my life extended
You should be the one I'll always love
After Ethan's explanation to Erica about why he's so miserable and sad, Erica felt sorry for the poor guy. She thought he didn't deserve to be treated like that from a girl who's suppose to be in love with him. From what Erica could tell, Ethan was a pretty decent guy who loved her very much and wanted to show it in the most simplest of ways, too. To Erica, that was the most romantic thing that anybody could do. In her eyes, you didn't need to be showered with big and expensive gifts just for someone to show how much they loved you. Just saying the words was enough to satisfy her heart.
Erica thought Ethan had dodged a bullet in almost marrying this woman cause then they'd have to deal with all the legal stuff, which isn't cheap in this day and age. Divorces are expensive! She also had a feeling if they did wind up getting married and then divorced, that his ex would probably try to take him for everything he's worth in court, too because she sounded just that petty to her.
Erica felt bad for him and wanted to cheer him up, so she decided to change the subject to maybe help lift his spirit some. She was just that type a person. Not liking to see people around her all sad or upset over something.
The two talked and talked, about everything and anything as they enjoyed each others company. Ethan soon forgot all about his troubles as he was busy chatting it up with Erica, who helped him feel somewhat more better that night. When it came time to finally leave, as the bar was about to close, Erica and Ethan both exchanged phone numbers so that they may keep in touch with each other, as they were now good friends after tonight.
That night, Ethan had left the bar feeling...happy, again. Something he hasn't experienced in a while, lately.
I'll be there as soon as I can
But I'm busy mending broken pieces of the life I had before
Over the past few weeks, Ethan and Erica continued to stay in contact with one another. They've either talked on the phone about random stuff or just go out somewhere and enjoy each others company. During all this time, though, they had also begun to get really close with each other, too. More than "just friends" usually are. Like, they would sometimes hold hands more often when they walked side by side of each other. Or they'd spend a lot of time snuggling with each other on the couch after watching a movie at home or wanting to do subtle, but light touching that would be considered too intimate for friends to do. Truth of the matter was, Ethan and Erica had fallen in love with each other.
Erica was happy about her feelings for Ethan. Whereas with Ethan, it was different. Sure, he loved her back and wanted to be with her, but...at the same time he was still in love with his ex, Sarah. He had still not gotten over her, yet. Which was hard for him to do considering she was his first crush and love. He had spent so much time believing that she was the one and would be the only one for him, that when reality finally set in that they just weren't meant to be, he had a hard time accepting it. After the break up, he thought he'd never find someone like her, again. Someone to love and put all of his heart into. Oh, how wrong he was cause then came Erica and those feelings came rushing back to him once again.
He really did wanted to be with her, but to him...it was just too soon to move on, already. He still had to sort out his past feelings for Sarah. It was hard letting her go physically and mentally. He wasn't ready for another serious relationship, just yet. At least...not right now. He knew he had to tell Erica this before things get too far in their relationship. About how he feels about her and about his ex and how he just wasn't ready to jump into another relationship so soon, just yet.
I'll be there as soon as I can
But I'm busy mending broken pieces of the life I had before
Well, apparently that time was now, as after coming back from the movie theater and going to his place for a few drinks, things had gotten a bit heated between the two. One minute they were talking and laughing, and the next...they both were crashing lips with one another passionately on the couch. It might've been the alcohol finally affecting their judgment or either that it was just that they couldn't hide their feelings for one another anymore and instead just gave into them.
After a while of passionatingly kissing, Ethan suddenly felt Erica starting to lift his shirt up, which snapped him back to his senses as he knew where this was going. He then quickly pulled away and ended the very intense moment between them. Erica sat there with a puzzled look on her face, then.
"I-I'm really sorry, Erica. But...I just can't right now." confessed Ethan shamefully to her, as he looked down sullenly. He wanted to be honest with her and now was that time.
When she had asked why, Ethan then went into details as he began to open up his heart to her once again about his feelings towards her and his ex, Sarah, as well. After that a small awkward silence fell between the two. Ethan felt horrible for still loving Sarah after what she's put him through, but he just wasn't ready to quiet let her go completely, yet. He was also afraid that Erica might think he was just leading her on to be the rebound girl or something, as well. He really didn't want her hate him for that because it wasn't true. He truly did love her and wanted to be with her, but...things were just too complicated for him right now.
Startled by Erica taking his hand in hers, Ethan looked up at the girl next to him. She was giving him a warm, but rueful smile to show that she wasn't mad at him.
"Ethan. It's ok." she said sweetly to him. "I get it. She was your first love and your whole world up until recently. So, of course it would be hard to let go of those feelings that you had for entirely. It's only natural that you'd still love her, even after she'd broken your heart. So...if you're not ready then...you're not ready. And I don't want to force you into something you're not ready for, yet because I love you, Ethan." stated Erica whole heartedly to him.
"I really am sorry about all of this, Erica. You probably think I'm jerk for all this, huh?" said Ethan disappointingly.
Erica shook her head, as she kept her kind and sincere smile. "No. I don't." she said compassionately. "I know that you love me, Ethan. That's why you're telling me all of this now. And I respect that you decided to tell me now before things got to far in our relationship together. I really do mean that and I really do love you, too. That's why...I'm willing to wait until you are finally ready to move on with me. Until, I'm perfectly happy with being just friends for now." she stated sweetly to him.
Ethan looked up at her and gave a small smile of gratitude for being so understanding. "Thank you, Erica. That really means a lot to me." he said gratefully. "And I promise...that I'll get there someday. Then we can finally be together. All I need is a bit of time to finally heal from the broken heart that Sarah had left me with and then...you and I can start our lives as a couple together."
Erica nodded, agreeing with him. "Take your time, Ethan. I'll be right here when you're ready." she said reassuringly to him, as she patted him on the knee first and then leaned in to give him a kiss on the cheek. She then got up to grabbed her purse and jacket, and headed out the door.
Ethan sat there just staring at the door once she left, with grateful smile on his face. He was lucky to have met her and to have such an amazing woman in his life, now. "Don't worry, Erica. It might take me some to get there, but I'll be there as soon as I can." he said softly to no one, as he just sat there smiling, thinking that if only he had met her first instead of Sarah, how different his life would be right now. Probably a lot more better than it is, now.
Before you
A/N: And that's a wrap on another amazing tune, folks! ;D
Poor Ethan. It must be hard to be in love with one person all while still having feelings for your ex. But at least, Erica is kind enough to wait for him till he is ready to move on with her, though. For now, they're just good friends. If only he had met her before Sarah, then he'd probably would've been married to the girl he loves already! Lol! ;P
Anyways, drop me a review and let me know what you think! I'd love to hear it! ;D
Until next time, my lovely songficers! I'll being seeing you all around, later! Peace! :D
