A/N: Hey, there everybody! It's me! Your favorite DJ, MBAV fan66! And I'm comin' at yah with another sweet tune! Yee-ah! :D

This one was requested by jessicak71309! Who now goes by jessgood! ;D They wanted this one to be an Etharah (Ethan/Sarah) pairing to this song here, which I'm sure many of might recognize since it's from a pretty popular movie called "High School Musical"! ;D

So, just a little background about the scenario I'm using here in this songfic, first! ;D Ok, so in this songfic everybody is human and there are no supernatural powers here. Just your regular teenage drama in high school type of stuff. And in this one, everybody at Whitechapel always sticks to their own social status or click. Meaning, they only hang out and date others that are grouped in the same social status as they are. No one ever dares to veer away from their own group because it's like forbidden or something. You know how high school is. *giggles* ;P But yeah! So, the popular people only stick with the popular, the geeks only stick with the geeks, and the social outcasts only stick with the social outcasts. Simple. Until one day, a geek and a cheerleader (which is part of the popular group) meet and fall in love with one another. But sadly, due to the whole "stick with your own social status kind" rule thing among their peers, they can't be together. By the way, Sarah is the cheerleader and Ethan is the geek in this situation.

Anyway, despite all that, the two still try to find ways to be together in secret, as they could care less about that dumb unsaid rule that everybody at school follows. All they want is to be together and if mingling with another social status person when not obligated to means breaking that silly rule, then so be it. Though, their friends do always get in the way to keep them apart. Until, now that is.

And that's all I'll say about the scenario, for now. Don't want to ruin it for everybody. *giggles* ;) Oh! And in this songfic, the pairing will be singing the song. Like always, I've listed down below before the fic begins, how to tell which character is singing. Or if you want, you can just listen to the song yourselves. Ethan's pretty much singing all the male lines, while Sarah is singing all the female lines in this song. So, um...yeah! Lol! ;P

Anyway, I hope you like it jessgood and it's what you've been waiting for, for so long now! So, please! Enjoy! ;D

Shout outs to these wonderful people!:

TiredOfBeingNice- I know! Me too! I hated having to do that to my poor Ethan-poo, but it had to be done. But thankfully everybody is happy now! Sarah and Benny realized their newfound feelings for one another and are now together. And Ethan is up in heaven, smiling down happily at them. Knowing that his two best friends won't feel alone anymore without him there. :) Aw! Thanks, fanfic buddy! *blushes bashfully* :) It's funny you think I write romance so wonderfully and yet I'm not even all that big of a romance nerd in real life! Lol! XD But I guess, writing about love is kinda easy to do, I suppose. So, yay for love! :D Lol!

Acornriot- Thanks for adding this story your favorites list and to your follow list! I much appreciate it! And thank you for adding my other stories "Epic Poet Battles Of Whitechapel" and "A Fairytale Kind Of Love II: The Story Continues" to those lists, as well! :D

No-one- Aw! You're welcome! ;D That I have! I promised myself that I'm gonna make it all the way to 100 songfics before ending this thing! And dagnabbit! I will! *stands proud and determined like* Lol! :P So, far I'm almost halfway there. :) Why yes, I can! I'll just add those requests to the little list I have, so I won't forget. But it might be a long while before I'm finally able to get to them as they'll be songfics #49 and 51. So, until then I hope you'll stick around until I'm able to do them. :) And, fang out, to you too! Lol! ;D

Stretch Snodgrass- Aw! Thanks! I'm glad you enjoyed it! :) And I hope you'll also like this "what if" one, too! If you know...the supernatural never existed in the first place and everyone was still human with no special powers, either. *giggles* ;P

Bennyweirlover17- Aw! Thanks! I'm glad you liked it! :) And I hope you'll like this one, as well! :D

jessgood- Good! Because here it is, now! :D Lol! And aw, thanks for the compliment! *blushes bashfully* I'm glad you enjoy my stories so much. Hopefully, I can keep up the good work on them, then. :)

Disclaimer: I do not own My Babysitter's A Vampire or any of it's characters. I also don't own the song being used in this chapter, either. All those rights belong to their respective creators involved in their making. What I do own, however, is this fic and the mini like plot in this chapter.

Songfic #43

Song: Breaking Free

Artist: Vanessa Hudgens and Zac Efron

Pairing: Ethan/Sarah

It was the day of the school's talent show and every student at Whitechapel High was there to watch it. Of course, with them all sitting with their usual clicks in the crowd. It was finally Sarah Fox's turn, who was gonna sing a duet with one of her male jock friends. They were supposed to be performing one of her favorite songs from one of her favorite movies. But unfortunately, at the last minute her duet partner wasn't able to make it, as he had fallen ill. She had just found out about it, right when it was their turn to go on stage.

Sarah wanted to drop out right there and then due to stage fright, but her best friend Erica wouldn't let her. Thankfully, just in case, there was a backup song in case one them couldn't make it. But there was still one major downfall to this situation. Sarah had a bad case of stage fright. Sure, she was a cheerleader and had performed in front of people a dozen times before without feeling overly nervous, but that was different. While cheerleading, she was performing with other people. Not by herself. And that is where her stage fright comes in. Sarah had no problem performing in front of others as long as she was performing with someone else. But alone, she was a nervous wreck and would always freeze up in front of everybody. Barely able to get anything out.

And that's exactly what was happening here.

She stood on stage as the music for her solo act began, but nothing was coming out of her mouth. She just stood there looking out into the crowd like a deer in headlights. She felt herself starting to become sweaty then as her anxiety began to spike. Sarah looked out into the crowd, remembering what her secret boyfriend, Ethan Morgan, had told her. He had told her that when it was her turn, to just look at him and imagine that she's singing only to him. That he was the only person in the room with her.

But sadly, Sarah wasn't able to see Ethan out in the crowd, because he was forced to sit in the very back. From there, Sarah wasn't able to spot Ethan very well, as the school's spotlights shown down upon with a very bright glow, making a bit hard to see in the back properly.

The song began again, but still no words from Sarah. Forcing the music to stop, yet again. At that very moment, Sarah was about ready to bolt off stage from humiliation. That is...until the piano started to play again, but this time it was the melody of the original song that she was gonna sing with her partner before he got sick.

Confused at first, Sarah looked over at the pianist with a questioning look. But then the moment she heard a familiar male voice begin to sing the first verse, she instantly knew what was happening as she turned to face him.

We're soarin', flyin'

There's not a star in heaven

That we can't reach

Sarah smiled lovingly at the voice, who belonged to none other than her boyfriend, Ethan. Instantly, feeling all the anxiety and fear leave her at seeing his handsome face, as he walked out onto the stage with a mic in hand, smiling lovingly back at her.

After Ethan finished singing the first bit of lyrics, Sarah quickly started in on her part as she held the mic up to start singing.

If we're trying

So we're breaking free

She didn't need him to tell her the reason why he's doing this because she already knew. He couldn't bear to see her struggling with her stage fright so badly, like this and making a fool of herself in front of the entire student body. So, he quickly stepped in and somehow manage to get to the stage on time and have the pianist go ahead and play this song.

In a way, this song was sorta like their song, anyway. It spoke to them about who they are and the stressful situation that they were in. A popular dating a geek. Which was pretty much forbidden in their school. It was like...the world was trying to keep them apart or something. But despite that, they still wanted to be with each other because they just love each other too much to ever want to give that up.

Both of them knew this song by heart, as it was one of the few things that they had in common with each other. Ethan even helped her rehearse it one time during their little private moments with each other that they tend to have when they would just sneak off somewhere to be alone.

Ethan then took Sarah's hand in his and held it, while staring into her gorgeous eyes, smiling loving at her as she did the same back at him. In that very moment, they didn't care that the whole school saw them together. All they cared about right then was themselves and the love in their hearts that share for each other.

You know the world can see us

In a way that's different than who we are

Creating space between us

'Til we're separate hearts

A few gasps and murmurs could be heard among their fellow students, as they quickly picked up the connection between the two. What they were doing wasn't simply just a performance, but was real, instead. Nobody knew what to think, as they just sat there and watched in shock and awe. Some of them even maybe feeling a bit miffed by it, as well.

But Ethan and Sarah just ignored them, as they felt as if they were the only two in the room, right now. As Ethan sang his part, he continued to hold Sarah's hand in his own but then moved his other hand outward towards the coward in sweeping like motion, as if gesturing towards all of them. Never once losing eye contact with Sarah.

When Sarah sang her part, she then looked down sullenly and took a step back away from him. Sliding her hand out of his and turning slightly away from him then, as the melody continued to play for a bit once she was finished.

But your faith it gives me strength

Strength to believe

As they sang together, Sarah slowly started to lift her head up and then turned back around to face Ethan. This time smiling again at him, as he sang along with her with a loving expression on his face while looking at her.

Silence now filled the audience, as they continued to watch them sing. All those negative thoughts and feelings from earlier soon began to slowly fade away, as thoughts of doubts and questioning began to fill each and everyone's heads. All while watching the two up on stage pour their heart and soul into their performance together. Needless, to say, everyone there was watching the two carefully as if studying them.

We're breakin' free

We're soarin'

Flyin'

There's not a star in heaven

That we can't reach

Ethan and Sarah both sang their parts exuberantly with glee and joy in their voices, as they sang their lines one after the other, taking turns until the last two lines in that verse came. Those two lines they combined their voices together, singing in perfect harmony with one another as they both wore big smiles on their faces as they sang.

Seeing them sing like that together, along with the now upbeat tempo of the song, the whole school had started to find themselves actually getting in the groove with it. As they started to clap along and bob their heads to the beat.

If we're trying

Yeah, we're breaking free

Oh, we're breaking free

Ohh

Watching them sing together was lifting and eye-opening, as everyone there then realized that maybe...maybe they weren't all so different after all? That maybe it's ok to be part of more than one click and to associate with them and even have friends in other clicks, as well?! That there's not just one kind of social group that defines everybody! So, maybe...populars and geeks CAN be friends or date each other?!

Soon, the whole school understood the message that these two on stage, singing, were sending to them. And the whole place just burst with energy and joy and happiness, as the idea didn't seem so absurd anymore!

Can you feel it building

Like a wave the ocean just can't control'

Connected by a feeling

Ohh, in our very soul

Very soul

Ooo

As Ethan and Sarah shimmed and danced while singing their song, the rest of the people in the audience were all on their feet swaying and dancing along with them as teens from different social groups began to merge and mingle with other social groups. Forgetting all about their silly little social hierarchy rule at school.

Rising 'til it lifts us up

So everyone can see

Both Sarah and Ethan lifted their free hand up in the air, while singing and walking towards each other. Both wearing the biggest and proudest smiles ever on their faces, as they were having the time of their lives up there. When they turned towards the crowd, they saw that everyone, including their friends, were all dancing and smiling joyously with each other but not with people from their own click but instead with others from different clicks. That's when they realized that everyone must've finally seen what they've been seeing all this time in secret. That you don't have to be defined by just one single social group and have to only be around them! That instead, you can be more than just one! And that everyone in their own way, is really the same in some way or form, rather!

We're breakin' free

We're soarin'

Flyin'

There's not a star in heaven

That we can't reach

They sang boldly with all their heart and soul in it, as their voices burst with energy. Energy that caused everyone in the auditorium to break out into cheers and whistles of enjoyment and encouragement.

If we're trying

Yeah we're breaking free

Oh we're breakin' free

Ohh

Ethan then spun Sarah around merrily while singing her "ohh" part, as she smiled happily.

Runnin'

Climbin'

To get that place

To be all that we can be

Even the teachers there were swaying and dancing along with everyone else, as they felt the energy touch their soul. The whole vibe that Ethan and Sarah had set there was just contagious, as no one could resist the charm and magic that their singing seems of brought in everyone.

Now's the time

So, we're breaking free

We're breaking free

Ohh, yeah

They sang while facing each other, only about a foot away from each other. As they looked at each other in the eyes as they sang, while leaning forward. Sarah even put a bit of playful sass in it by lightly bobbing her head and shoulders a bit.

More than hope

More than faith

This is true

This is fate

And together

We see it comin'

Ethan and Sarah then pranced their way over towards the pianist, as she to jammed to the beat while (silently mouthing the words along with them) also playing the piano, to sing the next verse. They remained there singing by the piano for a little while (at least after the "this is fate" part) before then leaving to go dance some more on the open stage.

More than you

More than me

Not a want, but a need

Both of us breakin' free

The two singing teens continued to dance around each other, while singing. Sometimes even raising their free hand in the air or moving it in other ways to express themselves.

Soarin'!

Flyin'

There's not a star in heaven

That we can't reach

Ethan took Sarah's hand in his and then spun her, as she sang her part first. Sending her twirling across the stage floor, just a couple of feet away from him. Then he gracefully slides across the stage on his feet past her while singing his part, soon after. Coming to stand right next to her, as they both then began to sing the next part, once again joining their voices together in perfect harmony.

If we're trying

Yeah we're breaking free

Breaking free

Then they stand side by side. Shoulder to shoulder, with Sarah slightly leaning more so over on Ethan's. As they both look at each other endearingly with big happy and loving smiles plastered on their faces.

We're runnin'

Ohh, climbin'

To get the place

To be all that we can be

Sarah pointed up towards the sky when she sang her part first, while moving away from Ethan. Ethan then danced his way back over to her, as he sang his part after hers. They then circled each other at the same time, while still facing each other and singing together, again.

The audience was still clapping along with them, as they sang and were even on their feet, while doing, too.

Now's the time

Now's the time

So we're breaking free

Oh, we're breaking free

Ohh

Both Ethan and Sarah then walked forward to face the audience as they sang their respective parts. Then Sarah moved around in front of Ethan to stand on his other side, with his eyes following hers. He turned slightly to face her completely then, as they stared lovingly into one another's gleaming eyes as Sarah sang "ohh" in a more calmer tone than she was singing in earlier. Causing everyone in the auditorium to then fall silent, as they watched eagerly. Not wanting to ruin the very touching and heartfelt mood the song seems to have taken, as it started to reach it's end.

You know the world can see us

In a way that's different than who we are

As the music began to die down, causing the mood to become more softer and mellower. Sarah's and Ethan's voices also grew more softer and tender as they sang also, as they faced the crowd for just a second before turning to face each other, again.

As they sang, there was this romantic like spark that the two felt. A spark that caused them to move their lips closer and closer together, as they sang the last verse in the song together. Once again forgetting everyone there in the room with them.

Right when they finished singing the last word in the song, their lips then met right afterward in a kiss. A kiss that never felt so right before until now, as they no longer had to hide their true feeling for each other, anymore without worrying what their friends and peers might think. Because now, that didn't matter. As all their friends and peers in school stood up to cheer loudly, while giving them a round of applause. Approving of their relationship together and welcoming the beginnings of something new at Whitechapel High.

A/N: And that's that, my dudes and dudettes! Another poppin' hit tune for yah! :D

Hopefully, it made some sorta sense. The song was a lot longer than I thought it was. Which led me to have to improvise a bit to fill in the gaps between verses as it reached probably the halfway point of the song. Lol! :P

Oh! And as a side note! The times I spent working on this songfic, this song wound up constantly getting stuck in my head for the REST OF THE DAY. So, thanks jessgood. For requesting a song that was stuck on replay in my head and drove me nuts over the few days I had been working on it. Thanks a lot. :/ *says sarcastically, but then giggles right afterward* But it's ok! I forgive you! *giggles* ;P

So, what did you all think? Was it rad or was it a drag? :P Let me know! :D

The next totally awesome songfic shall be from my friend, Bennyweirlover17. So, stay tuned for that! ;D

Until then, this be DJ MBAV fan66 and I'm signing off for now! I'll be seeing all you hip cats around! PEACE! ;D
