A/N: Howdy, y'all! It's me! Your fabulous and wonderful superstar of a DJ, MBAV fan66! And I'm bringing you all a fresh hot and new songfic your way! :D

This song was requested by Bennyweirlover17 and they wanted me to use the Sarah/Benny pairing with it, as well. So, hopefully, they'll like it. :) Now, since this song has a second part to it, I'm gonna be breaking this specific songfic down into two separate songfics, as well. Meaning, this songfic will have two parts to it also, just like the song does. Right now, for this chapter, it'll be part 1. And since every other chapter so far is one of Bennyweirlover17's requests, then that means chapter 48 (or rather, songfic #48) will be part 2 of this song. I know it might sound a bit confusing at first, but just bear with me on this one. Ok? Lol! ;P Anyway, if you're confused, then you'll understand later after the next couple of chapters. I hope. :/ Lol! :P

Also, just to warn you, there will be mention of drug abuse/use in this chapter, as well. So, if that's something that makes you uncomfortable or possibly might trigger you in some way, then I suggest not reading this songfic, then.

I got the idea to make this about drug abuse from the song itself after looking up it's lyrics. While I was looking up the song's lyrics I had ran into a little short paragraph explaining the meaning behind the song. Which was that in part 1 of the song it was about the struggle of addiction and how it takes control of your life so easily making it hard to kick completely. And part 2 of the song, is about the recovery after finding faith in God and turning yourself over to his healing power to get your life back on track again. Does that make sense? I hope so. If not then you can always just look up the meaning behind the song yourself, then. *shrug* :P Anyway, that's basically what the story part of this songfic is going to be about. Although, with part 2 in chapter 48, I'll be taking a slightly different approach to it, though. *giggles* ;P

Anyway, enough with all that mumbo-jumbo stuff! Because now it's time for some shout-outs before we begin the newest songfic! Shout outs to these lovely people!:

TiredOfBeingNice- Well, I'm still glad you enjoyed it, though! :D Even if your musical phase has diminished some since then. *giggles* ;P I'm glad you loved that part because it's sort of my favorite part, too! Lol! XD Which that was how it was intended to be. Funny! Lol! I actually quite really enjoyed writing this one. So, thanks for requesting it. :) Oh, good! Because trust me...you'll be waiting a loooooong time, too. :/ Lol! :P As it stands now, it seems like I'm only ever able to get like one chapter out a year for this fic. Which is sad. :( But that's just how it goes, I guess. Just too many fics to work on and not enough time (or energy) in the day to get them all done in. Or at least, get a chapter or two, that is. :P But I appreciate the patience, though, fanfic buddy! So, thanks for that! :D *hugs* Anyway, I hope you'll enjoy this one (and all of the other future ones to come next before yours) until then! :D

Bennyweirlover17- Thanks! I'm glad you liked it! :D And here's hoping that you'll like this one, as well, since it's one of your requests! ;D

Disclaimer: I do not own My Babysitter's A Vampire or any of it's characters, either. I also don't own the song being used in this chapter. All those rights belong to their respective creators. What I do own, though, is this fic and the chapter's mini-plot, too.

Songfic #46

Song: Already Over (Part 1)

Artist: Red

Pairing: Sarah/Benny

You never go

You're always here (suffocating me)

Under my skin

I cannot run away

Fading slowly

Benny Weir sat in his bedroom on the bed with an anxious and desperate look about him. He kept bouncing his knee while also chewing on his fingernail as a bead of sweat ran down the side of his forehead. His eyes never once leaving the sight of his closet for some reason.

Actually, there was a reason. Hidden inside his closet somewhere was something he knew he shouldn't have. Something illegal and dangerous. Pain pills. But these weren't those lightweight, over-the-counter kind, though. No. These were the heavy-duty and powerful ones that you can only get through a prescription from a doctor. The dangerous and addictive kind of pain pills. Opioids.

As he nervously sat there, Benny's mind was going a hundred miles per hour on whether he should take some or not. You see, he was addicted to them. Has been ever since his car accident two months ago. The accident wasn't serious, thankfully. But it did leave him with a bit of back pain, though. Which was only temporary the doctor had told him. The doctor explained to him that there was no serious injury to his back, so the pain should go away over time in about two weeks or so. That was when the doctor had prescribed him the opioids to help manage and relieve some of the pain until then. At first, Benny didn't think anything of it and figured that he wouldn't be one of the many people to wind up addicted to the drugs. That he was better than and had a much stronger will than they did. But his girlfriend, Sarah Fox, on the other hand, was wary about him taking such a strong pain killer, though. Even though Benny might be confident about not winding up addicted to them, she knew better. She tried to talk him out of it and wanted to get him to ask for something a little bit more lighter and less addictive than opioids to take. But Benny refused. He was positive that his willpower was a lot stronger than some pills. Boy, how wrong he was.

I give it all to you

Letting go of me

Reaching as I fall

I know it's already over now

Nothing left to lose

Loving you again

I know it's already over, already over now

In two weeks, the pain did subside and go away like the doctor had said it would. But unfortunately, in Benny's mind, the pain was naggingly still there. Even after a couple of weeks. The doctor was baffled at first at why his back kept hurting when it should've been completely all healed by now like his other minor injuries have, but he decided to ignore it. Thinking that maybe he was wrong about Benny's back pain being all gone in a couple of weeks after the accident. So, the doctor prescribed him another bottle of pills but only a week's worth, though. But when Benny came back in again asking for more just three days before the previous prescription should've run out, the doctor became suspicious a little. But once again, the doctor prescribed him more pain pills and once again Benny ran out before the prescription should've ran out if he was taking them like should have. That's when the doctor decided to cut him off and stop prescribing Benny the opioids, knowing that his back should be all healed up by now. The doctor then came to the conclusion that he might be addicted to them and that he should seek help in getting over his addiction.

Of course, Benny didn't take too well in hearing that and got mad at the doctor, claiming he didn't know anything and that he was a lousy doctor. After his rant, Benny then stormed out of the doctor's office fuming and looking for his next fix. That's when he found out that he could get them on the street illegally later on that day.

Since then, Benny's been addicted to them. Becoming dependent on something so dangerous and so toxic that he didn't care about the harm it could do to himself or to those around him who he loves. Like Sarah. All Benny cared about was getting his next fix whenever he felt overwhelmed or stressed about something (like work or just life in general). To him, the pills were helping him relax, all while also relieving the (imaginary) pain that was always present in his back, it seems. The high he got from them helped him feel good again and that was all that mattered to him. So, why quit such a good thing, right? If they were helping him then that's all that mattered, right? Wrong.

My best defense

Running from you (cost me everything)

I can't resist

Take all you want from me

Breaking slowly

Benny knew that Sarah was no dummy or wasn't blind. That she could see the harmful effects the pills were having on him. Like the jittery and anxious nerves he had, the mood swings he would suddenly have for no reason, the sudden fatigue he would get that just be too hard to shake all the time and would usually make it hard for him to wake up from, as well. Winding up addicted to those pills was exactly what Sarah was worried about the day he was first prescribed them. But he wouldn't listen to her back then...and now? It was too late. He should've listened to her when he had the chance. Then maybe none of this would have ever happened to him. Every time he came off his high the pills gave him he would just go right back to feeling crummy, again. He hated hurting her emotionally.

She eventually even found out about the doctor not prescribing him any more opioids, too. Well...that was because he told her the day he came home after asking the doctor for more. But when Sarah had asked him why, though, he just blew up at her for no reason and told her to mind her own damn business. He felt really guilty after that and immediately apologized to her soon after the words had come tumbling out of his mouth in a blind fury of rage. Of course, Sarah forgave him because she loves him, but it had also only added more to her suspicion about him being an addict, now.

Then her suspicion was confirmed one day when she accidentally found an unlabeled pill bottle hidden in the couch cushions. Busted. When she had confronted him about it that's when he came on out to her and admitted it to her. That he was addicted to the pills and that he pretty much didn't care because he needed them. Thus, probably breaking her heart in the process.

I give it all to you

Letting go of me

Reaching as I fall

I know it's already over now

Nothing left to lose

Loving you again

I know it's already over, already over now

Eventually, Benny promised her that he would quit and give up the pills for her after talking things out with her some more. At first, Sarah was happy to hear this and he honestly did really try to quit them on his own, but it was no use. He couldn't shake the feeling he got from them every time he took them, though. He was only ever able to go without them for maybe half a day or an entire day if he was lucky, but that was it. As Benny saw, he had no real motivation to quit them because he still refused to the damage they caused in life unlike everyone else around him.

He had even lost his job because of the pills, but he didn't care. He didn't care about anything but the pills. They were all that mattered to him, now. And every time Sarah found out that he was back on them again the two would always argue about it, but Sarah would still stay by his side, though. Trying to convince him to get help for addiction. Whenever things did heated between them, the two would usually go their separate ways for a little while (as in separate rooms or for a walk) to cool off. Then they would make up, again. Benny could clearly see that his addiction was hurting her and every time he would always wonder in the back of his mind just how long her love for him will last. If this would be the last straw and she would finally leave him. For good, with nothing but his addiction to keep him company. Of course, he doesn't want that to ever happen, though! He loves Sarah! But...as things stand now...he loves the pills even more, though. Benny thought that there was nothing in this world that would ever truly motivate him enough to quit them for good. Not Sarah. Not his family. Not his friends. Not even his own life.

You're all I'm reaching for

It's already over

All I'm reaching for

It's already over now

And this is where we find Benny now. He and Sarah had gotten into it again. She had gone out on a short walk to clear her head and to calm down a bit while he stayed home to cool off, as well. But sadly, he also wound up finding himself in their bedroom. Debating about whether or not he should take a pill or two help him feel...less crappy about the whole argument. He tried to fight the urge to just go in the closet and obtain the bottle of pills that he kept hidden in it. He went over the pros and cons of it many times in his head for what seemed like forever to him but was really only for about 10 or 15 minutes, though. And time was running out because he knew that Sarah would be back any minute now from her walk and he really didn't want her catching him in the act of doping up on pills, either.

Finally, he broke down and gave in to his desire for the toxic little pills. He quickly rushed over towards the closet and started rummaging through the stuff in it until he found the bottle. Benny then darted back over to the bed and sat down on it. He quickly popped off the cap on the bottle and sprinkled a few pills out onto his hand, not paying much attention to how many had came out, before then tossing them in his mouth and swallowing them. After taking them he let out a small sigh of relief as the need to take them was finally over with. But Benny then looked down at the bottle in his hand and a wave of guilt soon washed over him at what he had done. Feeling horrible and weak for giving in so easily. But the feeling didn't last long, though, as soon the effects of the pills began to kick in and he felt more relaxed, now. But as the high began to set in, Benny then realized that something was very wrong as he began to feel weird and strange all of a sudden. Like he couldn't breathe properly, as he kept taking deep and ragged breaths. His heart felt like it was pumping much faster than it should be, right now, and he started to see black spots in his vision suddenly. Even his pupils weren't normal as they had become tiny in size. About the size of a pinhead. he also suddenly felt cold and bit a clammy for no reason at all, too.

Benny knew that he needed to call for help, so he quickly set the lid and the open bottle of pills down on his nightstand (but the bottle fell over, spilling a few of the pills out of it and onto the table, instead) before getting up to get his phone from across the room on the dresser, but as he did he staggered a bit his symptoms only got more worse it seemed. He was only able to take a couple of steps forward before then collapsing on the floor, thus losing consciousness in the process.

Just a couple of minutes later, Sarah had returned from her walk to cool down. When he did, she went to find Benny but when she didn't see him in the living room or kitchen she decided to check the bedroom. And that's when she found him. Laying there on the floor with his eyes closed and unmoving. Sarah immediately gasped from fright at the sight and then quickly rushed over to her unconscious boyfriend laying there on the floor. After trying to wake him with no response, Sarah grew even more worried about her unresponsive boyfriend's life as he laid there on the floor. Realizing how clammy and cold he felt with a twinge of blue starting to form on his lips it appears, as well as how shallow his breathing had seemed, Sarah immediately darted out of the room to grab the landline phone and call 911 for help. After making the call and hanging up once they told her that help was on the way, she then wound up breaking down in tears completely, knowing the reason why his life was currently in the balance between life and death, right now. Sarah was scared because she didn't want Benny to die.

I give it all to you

I offer up my soul

It's already over, already over now

Moments later, Benny began to slowly open his eyes. Only to find himself lying in a hospital bed with an IV drip attached to one of his arms and a breathing tube shoved up his nostrils. He was confused as to why he was in the hospital, in the first place. He then heard someone say his name from the other side of the bed. When he turned his head to see who it was he seen that it was Sarah, smiling down at him with tears and a look of great relief on her face that he had woken up. He smiled back at her, happy to see her beautiful face, again. But he was still confused about the situation, though. Like, why she had tears in her eyes as if she had been crying or something?

When he asked her about what had happened, she then explained everything to him. Needless to say, once she was finished telling him, Benny was shocked that he had almost overdosed on the opioid pills that he had taken just a while ago. He must've been so upset over the argument that he and Sarah had at the time, that he didn't realize that he had accidentally taken one too many of them at once. Normally, he was so careful about how many he took just to avoid this very scenario from ever happening. Benny felt terrible for being so careless this one time that it led to Sarah having to be the one to find him like that on the floor. He could only imagine how terrified she must've been to of found him like that.

He then took her hand lovingly and apologized to her wholeheartedly for everything. About the fight they had prior to his overdose, to her coming home to find him practically almost dead on the floor, and for ever putting her in such a scary and horrible position like that. He told her how much he loves her and that he promises to never do it again. But then something told Benny that Sarah didn't believe him because she said nothing in return to his apology. Instead, she only had this sad and guilty look on her face while refusing to look at him. She then slowly pulled her hand out of his and took a step back away from him. She was silent for a minute longer before finally saying what was on her mind and they were the words that Benny always dreaded to hear from her one day, too.

She was breaking up with him.

Give it all to you

Letting go of me

Reaching as I fall

I know it's already over now

Nothing left to lose

Loving you again

I know it's already over now

It's already over now

I know it's already over, already over

When he asked her why Sarah explained to him that she just couldn't do this anymore. Watching him destroy his life every day for some toxic fix to help him feel better about things and refusing to get help to break the deadly cycle, too. She said she couldn't handle all of the constant fights and arguments they would get into over it each day. That seeing him like this hurts and that he's not the man she fell in love with anymore, all because of those demon pills. They had changed him into a man she didn't recognize anymore. Sarah then went on to say that ever since his addiction started her life has been a living hell. Afraid that someday she might come home and find him lying there dead. But she would always tell herself that that wasn't gonna happen because you were careful when you would take them. Until now, that is. After finding him lying there on the floor unresponsive, all sweaty and clammy-like? Well...that was all it took to open her eyes to the truth. That he was never going to get the help that he needed to get better and turn his life around, again. She thought she would be the reason for him to get his life in order again and seek help one day, but now...she finally knows better. That even she isn't a good enough reason for her boyfriend to want to live and get truly better, again. So, that's why she's leaving him. Their love just wasn't strong enough for him to want to break the hold that the opioids held over him. Apparently, his love for them was far greater than his love for her. Which breaks her heart. Sarah never wants to find him like that, ever again. Especially, if the next time they weren't so lucky and she wound up finding him laying there dead rather than just unconscious and on the brink of death.

Benny's heart broke hearing all of that. He could tell that she didn't want to break up with him because of how hurt and sad she looked as the tears fell from her eyes. It pained him to see her like this and he tried desperately to beg her to not break up with him. That he was sorry and to give him another chance, but Sarah's mind was already made up. Not being able to take it anymore, Sarah broke down completely in tears as apologized to him one last time before running out of the room crying. Leaving a heartbroken and stunned Benny behind in his hospital bed, as tears of his own fell from his eyes.

A/N: And there it is! The first part of the song, done! :D Now, as I said before, there is a part 2 to this song. So, I'll be doing part 2 of it in songfic #48. Which means there will be a bit of a gap (obviously) between them since songfic #47 will be somebody else's request before I'm able to get back to doing another one of Bennyweirlover17's requests, again. :)

Also, just a bit of an (unimportant) side note here. The last couple of lines of the last section of the song are supposed to go with the last paragraph of the fic part of the songfic. At least, that's just how I imagined it in my head, that is. Lol! But you don't have to, though! :D Lol! ;P

Also, I don't know much about drug addiction or any kind of addiction, really. So, I apologize for anything that may be misleading in this songfic about it. And if you do happen to suffer from such a thing and have been in recovery for quite some time now, then my heart goes out to you and I wish you all the best in life. I hope you'll continue to be able to live a drug-free life. *hugs* :)

Anyway, I hope you liked it, Bennyweirlover17, and are excited about the second part to come in songfic #48, as well! :D Until then, everyone! Stay safe and stay healthy out there! This be DJ MBAV fan66, signing off for now! PEACE! ;D
