Hey guys, its Brandon. I just wanted to give you an update on what I am doing with the other fanfics.

I am in the middle of a major edit of Crossovers & Flashbacks. Northing too extreme, but I added several new lines of dialogue in the prologue, and have updated the characters. All references to Derek Morgan, Alex Blake, and Aaron Hotchner will be removed and replaced with Tara Lewis, Luke Alvez, and Emily Prentiss. I should have that edited within the next few days.

As for the other fanfics, I am awaiting an invite from ArchiveOfOurOwn (AO3), so I might move Wrong City, Wrong Time and a few others to that platform if I am approved.

Anyway, enough about the other stories on here. I have recently made a few edits to this story, and decided to replace Alvin Olinsky with Jay Halstead as sergeant of the Intelligence Unit. I hope the diehard Olinsky fans can forgive me for this, because I wasn't sure how I could work it into the story since Al was killed off at the end of Season 5.

Again, I apologize for the sudden character change.

As for this chapter, we get our first look at Gaffney Chicago Medical Center just as Sylvie and Herrmann arrive with Misty, and get our first look at three Chicago Med characters (Maggie Lockwood, April Sexton, and Will Halstead). There is also some humor regarding Eevee's many evolutions in this chapter, and why Maggie decided to evolve her Eevee into a Flareon.

If everybody's ready, please enjoy this chapter, and let me know what you think.

Chapter 2

Gaffney Chicago Medical Center

The emergency department at Gaffney Chicago Medical Center was unusually quiet at this time of morning. The waiting room was empty, and the doctors and nurses who served the hospital were standing around looking at the notes and charts of the patients that were being triaged or being evaluated by the medical staff.

Charge Nurse Maggie Lockwood looked at Nurse April Sexton, who was walking into the ED to begin her shift and spoke.

"Good morning April. How was your night?" Maggie asked.

"Good morning Maggie. You seem to be in a good mood. What's on your mind?" April Sexton countered as the stood at the desk to speak to Maggie.

"I've decided to evolve my Eevee into a Flareon. I went to the Pokémon Center downtown to borrow a Fire Stone. I was originally wanted to make it an Umbreon, but I decided that Flareon was much cuter." Maggie said.

"Why Flareon? Vaporeon is much cuter! Ethan has been nagging me to loan a Water Stone to evolve Poliwhirl into Poliwrath. He has a thing for Fighting-types." April said.

"Hey, I thought long and hard on the decision." Maggie said as one of the doctors entered the conversation.

"So, Maggie, did I overhear that you evolved your Eevee into a Flareon? I would have chosen Espeon myself." Doctor Will Halstead said as he looked at notes that were on an iPad in his hand.

"There's no way in hell I would have chosen Espeon! Those Psychic-types give me the creeps!" Maggie said, aghast at Will's suggestion.

"That is why all my Pokémon have at least some psychic abilities. I mean, I like my Slowpoke, as it is mostly a Water-type, but I have the ability to teach it how to confuse its opponents in battle. Sabeena and I are hoping to battle each other after shift, and she wants to see how her Chikorita does in battle against my Slowpoke, but I urged her to wait until..." Will started but was interrupted by a loud chime.

Maggie looked at her terminal and saw that Ambulance 61 had arrived with a patient.

Maggie looked up from the terminal, and saw Sylvie and Herrmann enter the Emergency Department with a young woman, who looked to be in her late 20s or early 30s with a large gash on the side of her head.

"Doctor Halstead, incoming. Talk to me, Sylvie." Maggie said as she rushed to the paramedic and the battalion chief.

"Female, thirty-one years old. Found fading in and out of consciousness in Northerly Island Park on the Lake Michigan waterfront. Vitals are fluctuating. GCS of 8." Sylvie said as Maggie, April, and Will examined her.

"She was found with a Poké Ball in her hand, but she was never able to release her Pokémon to defend herself. The poor lady must have been ambushed!" Herrmann said as Maggie directed them into a nearby trauma room.

"Go to Trauma Four! Does our Jane Doe have a name?" Maggie stated as she looked at Sylvie and Herrmann.

"Superintendent Voight and Commander Platt confirmed her to be Misty Ketchum. She's the wife of one Ash Ketchum." Herrmann said as they wheeled Misty into Trauma Four, when Maggie realized something.

"Ash Ketchum, of Ketchum v. Chicago Ash Ketchum? Wasn't that the Supreme Court case that overturned the city's anti-Pokémon ordinance?" Maggie reflected as Will began taking charge of the patient.

Herrmann and Sylvie looked at Maggie as they began moving Misty from the stretcher onto a bed as Will began issuing commands.

"Okay, let's move her on my count. One, two, three." Will said as Sylvie spoke to Maggie.

"I find it hard to believe that somebody would still hold a grudge against Ash Ketchum for fighting the ordinance. When Casey told me five years ago that he voted against it, I was happy he did. Many people, Pokémon trainers and Pokémon breeders were strongly opposed to the law, and the City of Chicago wasted millions of dollars on the legal challenge. Casey partly got elected mayor because he vowed that should the Court rule in favor of the city, he would use executive privilege to repeal the law and immediately settle with Mr. Ketchum and his wife." Sylvie said as she and Herrmann stepped away from the bed as Will called for an x-ray of Misty's chest.

The x-ray technician immediately rushed into the room as April checked the blood pressure and Will shined a light pen into her eyes.

"Pupils are reactive. That's good. Misty, I'm Doctor Halstead. You are at Med. You were found attacked in Northerly Island Park about thirty minutes ago. We're going to take good care of you." Will said as he looked at April who was removing the cuff from Misty's right arm.

"Her bp is 132/65. It's a little low, which makes me think there's internal bleeding." April said as Will looked at the X-ray technician.

"Okay, everybody, stand back. Let's take some photos. Clear!"

As the x-ray technician took the photos, a monitor to the right of the showed the x-ray that was just taken. Will examined it and made several observations.

"Lungs seem clear. I'm not seeing a pneumothorax. If she's able to breathe on her own, I would advise against intubating her. However, that gash on her head could be troublesome. Page Doctor Abrams and Doctor Latham and have them check to make sure I'm not missing…." Will began but was interrupted by the sounds of the alarms going off.

On the bed, Misty Ketchum began convulsing and her O2 stats began dropping.

Will sprinted to her side and began treatment.

"Okay, let's get her lowered. Give me 20 of etomidate, 100 of sux! April, push 2 of Ativan! I'm going to have to intubate her!" Will Halstead shouted as he lowered the head of the bed to lay her head flat and started intubating her. As he began intubating, April Sexton looked at the vitals once again.

"Ativan is in. Stats are still down."

"I'm almost there. Got it!"

April and Will looked at the vitals and sighed as they stabilized.

"O2 is stable. Vitals are stable. Great job, Doctor Halstead." April smiled.

"I'm not liking that seizure coming up out of the blue. Call CT and tell them we're coming up. Page Doctor Abrams immediately! If there is neurological damage, I want him doing the surgery. Let's move her!" Will said as April placed a bag over the intubation tube and began pumping it.

As Will Halstead and April Sexton wheeled Misty out, a tear appeared in Maggie's eye.

"I just hate that it has come to this. I just hope that Mr. Ketchum will realize that this was not his fault."

"Whoever did this was just some wannabe punk! I'm sure Voight will find them and throw them off the top of the Willis Tower!" Christopher Herrmann said as he looked at Maggie.

"I kind of agree with Herrmann. I just hope that Voight doesn't go out on some vigilante spree in the process." Sylvie Brett said as she and Herrmann walked towards the desk.

As the two Chicago Fire Department personnel began doing paperwork, Maggie Lockwood ran to the employee lounge and began crying. In all of years as a charge nurse, she had never been personally affected by someone else's tragedy. Unfortunately, what happened to Misty Ketchum deeply rattled her nerves.

As she sat on the couch, she closed and eyes and gathered her thoughts, and prayed that Misty Ketchum would get better in the process.

That's Chapter 2. Let me know what you thought of it. I will get the edited version of Crossovers & Flashbacks uploaded in the next several days and write Chapter 3 in the interim.
