Chapter 5

Vince entered a motel room and shut the door. He then laid down on the motel bed. After laying quietly for a few minutes, he got out his phone and dialed a number.

"Hello?" Tucker said as he answered his phone.

"Hey, Tuck," Vince said.

"Hey, Vince," Tucker said. "How's Texas?"

"I'd like to tell you how happy I am," Vince replied. "But that would be a lie. I'm so miserable. I just had the meltdown of all meltdowns. I miss you so much."

"I miss you too," Tucker said.

"I think I need to talk to someone," Vince said.

"Vince," Tucker said. "Open the motel door."

Vince got a weird look of his face, got up, and opened the door. Tucker stood there holding his phone.

"What are you doing here?" Vince asked.

"I had to see you," Tucker replied. "I left about an hour after Aaliyah left for Austin."

"How did you know I was here?" Vince asked.

"I tracked your phone," Tucker replied.

"That's really creepy," Vince said.

"I know," Tucker said. "I'm officially that guy."

Vince pulled Tucker into the room, hung up the 'Do Not Disturb' sign, and shut the door. He then proceeded to kiss Tucker on the lips. This quickly escalated to the two making out. Vince quickly took off his shirt. Tucker proceeded to take off his shirt as well. Vince then lied down on the motel bed and Tucker got onto the bed as well and continued kissing him.

A few hours later, Vince and Tucker lied down next to each other under the covers. Tucker smiled at Vince.

"A month is too long," Tucker said.

"Actually," Vince said. "One month, three weeks, and four days."

"You are such a nerd," Tucker laughed.

"Shut up," Vince laughed.

"Vince?" Tucker asked.

"Yes, Tuck?" Vince asked.

"What would you think if I decided move here as well?" Tucker asked.

"You mean, you'd leave your position, and your life, just for me?" Vince asked.

"Yes," Tucker replied.

"I can't ask you to do that," Vince said.

"I mean what I say," Tucker said. "I love you. I'd do anything for you."

"But I'd hate to be the reason you quit your job," Vince said.

"Don't worry about it," Tucker said.

"Oh," Vince said. "If only we could just tell the chief in Oklahoma City about our relationship. That would be so simple."

"Wait a minute," Tucker said. "What if we did tell the chief?"

"Excuse me?" Vince asked.

"Hear me out," Tucker said. "The chief might not fire us. There are some stations in other jurisdictions that allow firefighters to date."

"I don't know," Vince said.

"But whatever you decide, I will stay with you," Tucker said.

"Okay," Vince said. "I love you."

"I love you too," Tucker said.
