AN: Wow... it's been a VERY long time since I uploaded anything on here! one of the reasons for that is my laptop with all my stories on it died. (R.I.P laptop. you are still very missed.) I lost all the chapters I had written ( which was A LOT) and I just felt very unmotivated to write them all out again. BUT..I just came across an old email which I sent to a friend of mine with chapter two! (Whoop!) I'm completely shocked as I never expected to read this again and yet here it is. I'm not even sure if you guys are still interested in this story as its been such a long time, but I thought I'd upload it anyway. :) Please let me know what you think. If you would like me to continue I will for sure.

Chapter Two
Saying Goodbye
Sarah's lips curved into a smile as she ran down the stairs to say goodbye to her family. She couldn't help but feel guilty, as she knew she may never see them again. But she simply couldn't help it. She was going back to the Labyrinth. The place that had stolen her heart all those years ago
'I can't believe it... I'm going back…he's actually letting me return with him!' Her brain was practically screaming in excitement.
Her heart was thumping hard in her chest as she reached the bottom of the stairs. She was just about to enter the hall when She heard the front door open. Not wanting to be seen, Sarah hid behind the door and watched as Karen and Toby walked in. It was raining outside and Karen and Toby were both soaked. Toby quickly pulled off his muddy boots and his blue coat, throwing them to the ground before he rushed into the kitchen to give Robert a hug and show him the toy car Karen had brought for him while at the store.
"Toby!" Karen shouted, obviously annoyed that he hadn't put his things back neatly.
Sarah watched as Karen put his shoes neatly by the door and hung his coat up on one of the pegs on the wall, mumbling to herself "That boy – when will he learn." Before she too took off her coat and hung it up.
Sarah watched as Karen quickly changed from her muddy boots into a pair of white designer high heels.
"Karen honey, are you there?" Robert called from the kitchen.
"Yes, Robert." She replied, quickly adjusting the flyaway's from her hair before she walked into the kitchen.
Sarah heard the two of them talking in the kitchen but wasn't close enough to hear word for word.
She walked closer and peeked in through the crack in the door. She was surprised to see the couple embracing in the kitchen. Not that there was anything wrong with their intimate display of affection, but they had never hugged each other in such a public place before, with Toby watching them.
Something must be wrong.
"Darling, there is nothing we can do about it. Her choice is made, She's always been stubborn, just like her mother, and nothing will change her mind. We must let her go." Roberts' voice was slightly muffled against his wife's neck.
"I know…" She sniffed as the two pulled away from each other's arms. "I just can't help but feel worried about her. We don't even know where she is going, do you not know what happens to young girls like her?"
"I know, but she won't tell us. And I can't force her to do so. I will make sure I get a number from her so we can keep an eye on her."
Karen blew her nose on her handkerchief and nodded before the both started putting the groceries away.
Sarah took her shuddering breath. Was Karen upset about her leaving? She would never have imagined her to be upset when she finally decided to leave home.
She remembered one horrible afternoon when she had missed the school bus home and Karen had had to pick her up from school. She had moaned the whole way home that it was "Time she grew up, the time she got a job and a car so she could drive herself around instead of her having to leave Toby at home with Robert."
To which she had replied "Well He is his father, he should look after Toby every once in a while. Plus, you don't drive me around, you just pick me up from school when I miss the bus, and this is only the second time I've done it in all of my years at school."
Karen had started shouting at her at that point, telling her to move out and get a life of her own.
And yet now, she was more upset about her leaving than her own Father was?
Deciding she had waited long enough she walked into the kitchen.
"Ah Sarah, dinner is ready, come take a seat," Robert smiled as he helped Toby into his seat.
"No."
Everyone looked at her
"I mean, I can't. I haven't got time. I have to leave now." She gulped, nervously.
Robert raised a brow
"What?!" Karen shouted, practically smashing her plate of food onto the table.
"I'm going now…my flight leaves in ten minutes." She hated lying, but what could she do? She couldn't say the goblin king was waiting in her bedroom to take her away to his world. Plus, Jareth was an owl and he could fly, so in a strange sort of way, she wasn't lying about her 'flight'
"Sarah honey, at least you could have given us a couple of days notice in advance? You only told us yesterday you were leaving but we didn't expect you to leave so soon." He explained a sad expression on his face which made Sarah want to cry.
"I know Dad, and I'm sorry. I'm sorry to all of you. But please try and understand that this is what I want. I have always dreamed of having a life of my own and now finally I'll have one."
Karen suddenly slammed her fist against the table, making Toby and Robert jump.
"I can't believe you're being so selfish Sarah! I and your father have always encouraged you to enjoy your life but this is ludicrous! You're only eighteen! Don't you know how dangerous this world is? You've barely left the house by yourself, let alone leaving home and moving to another country all by yourself no less!" She shouted, her face flushed.
Sarah's heart thundered hard in her chest.
If her Dad didn't have a problem with her leaving then why the hell should Karen?
The anger she had been so good at hiding suddenly reared its ugly head.
"Who the hell are you to tell me what to do?! You're not my mother!" Sarah shouted, hands clenched into fits at her side.
"Sarah! How dare you speak to Karen in such a way!" Roberts' voice boomed over the room.
"I took you under my wing when you were ten years old Sarah, I've made your breakfast almost every morning, I've driven you to school, I've tried my hardest to turn you into a kind and loving person! Which is more than what I can say for your 'so called' real mother?" Karen had moved from the other side of the table and was now directly in front of Sarah.
Upon hearing the words of her real mother, Sarah's eyes filled with tears. "How dare you…" the tears in Sarah's eyes seemed to disappear when the realization hit her. "You just want me to stay here so you've still got someone here to babysit Toby every other fucking day!"
Robert and Karen both gasped at her choice of words.
Toby looked frightened as he watched the three of them shouting at each other. Tears filled his big blue eyes and slowly started to trickle down his plump cheeks.
"How dare you swear in this house, Sarah! In front of Toby no less!" Robert waved his finger at her; his face seemed to age with anger.
"You bad girl! You disgust me!" Karen spat.
Suddenly the lights in the kitchen began switching themselves on and off.
"What's happening, Daddy?" Toby sobbed. Obviously terrified.
"It's okay Toby, there's just a storm, and the lights will be back on soon." Robert soothed. Walking over to Toby and lifting him up in his arms.
Karen sighed. "Sarah, perhaps I do want you here for the babysitting. I won't lie, I liked the evenings out my and your father used to get every once in a while-"
Sarah interrupted "Once in a while? You're out every single weekend! Even when I was sick you didn't cancel your date."
Karen's voice began to rise again. "Never the less Sarah, I can't let you go. Not alone."
"What makes you think she's going alone?"
His seductive velvet voice rang out magically through the kitchen just as lightening struck.
Sarah cringed inwardly. Great. Now her parents would never let her go. How dare he.
She turned around fully expecting to see the Goblin King standing before them in all his otherworldly gloriousness. But the man in front of them definitely didn't look like the Goblin King.
Everyone turned to look at the tall slender man who leaned against the kitchen door like this was his home. Or more fitting; his castle.
"Who are you?" Robert demanded, holding Toby close to his chest.
"Why? Didn't Sarah tell you? I'm Jareth. Her…man friend."
Oh shit.
"Manfriend? You mean her- her boyfriend?" Robert looked utterly shocked.
Jareth smirked.
"Sarah, you never told us you had a boyfriend?" Karen finally spoke up, her voice had changed from the angry harsh tone, into a sweet flirty voice which made Sarah want to punch her right here, right now.
"She didn't? Well, I must say, I am offended." He smirked, moving from his place at the doorway and walking over to Karen, almost like a cat does towards it's prey.
"Pleasure to meet you, My Lady." Jareth purred, taking Karen's hand softly on his own. Smiling briefly before his placed a soft kiss on the top.
Karen practically swoons.
Sarah watched, both irritated and amazed at how much of a charmer The Goblin King was.
"D-delighted to meet you too." Karen blushed, smiling like there was no tomorrow.
Jareth grinned before he slowly walked over to Robert.
"You must be Robin."
"Robert-"
"Indeed." Jareth took his hand, shaking it rather violently.
"And last, but definitely not least, Toby," Jareth smiled.
Toby's eyebrows furrowed. He seemed to recognize this man. Both Karen and Robert noticed this.
"May I?" he asked, holding his arms out.
Robert didn't get a chance to answer. Toby wriggled around in his arms, desperate to be held by the tall blonde man who stood before them.
Sarah watched as Toby swung his arms around The Goblin King. Had she never seen Toby look so…content? But how?! How did Toby even remember him? And why the hell did he like him so much? The Goblin King was cruel…wasn't he?
"My, haven't you grown?" Jareth said, smiling at Toby.
Toby grinned back at him. "I remember you!" Toby whispered, sadly not quite quiet enough.
Robert and Karen looked at each other in confusion.
"Ah... but of course you do." he grinned at the child before he placed Toby back in his father's arms before he could say anything else. Slowly he walked over to Sarah, taking the time to admire her figure again. Something Sarah had noticed him do definitely more than once.
"And of course, you, Sarah." He winked at her and he didn't miss the blush that passed over her cheeks. Slowly he slipped his arm around her waist. "My Girlfriend. Who I promise will come to no harm while I am with her."
"Well of course not. You are a gentleman; I know you'll look after her." Karen smiled softly at him.
Sarah rolled her eyes.
"I just don't know why you haven't told us about him?" Robert said to Sarah, sadness etched upon his face.
"I-" Sarah thought for a moment. "I… was afraid you wouldn't approve of me travelling with my 'Boyfriend' and so it was best to keep him a secret."
Jareth chuckled
"Sarah you shouldn't be so greedy, we love him." Karen laughed, looking over Jareth again. She was obviously very attracted to him.
"I'm sorry she did. It has been delightful meeting such honorable people such as yourselves." Jareth smiled.
"Thank you for taking care of her, as her father, It means a lot to know she has someone looking out for her."
Jareth smiled "But of course. A precious girl like Sarah deserves to be treated right and I assure you I am just the man to do that."
Robert nodded weakly as he glanced at the man with a protective arm around his precious daughter.
"That's right... and if you dare mistreat her in any way, I'll hunt your ass down and feed you to the wolves."
Sarah and Karen gasped in shock at Robert's word's but Jareth laughed.
"Good. I would expect nothing less from a good Father. Sarah has often told me about how protective you are and I promise you, I'll take care of her." he took this opportunity to kiss Sarah's hair softly, his hand gently rubbing her hip. Something that made her want to punch him in the ribs but yet also wanted to pull him closer?
No, Sarah. you don't want to pull him closer! get a grip.
Robert smiled. "Well, if that's a promise then I trust you to look after my little girl."
Sarah smiled at her father as Jareth said softly "We should get going, love. Don't want to miss that flight." he winked at her
Sarah hugged both her parents, suddenly saying goodbye to them both was so much easier. But when it came to saying goodbye to the little blonde boy who she had once saved from the man standing right behind her, the tears began to fall.
"I love you, Toby, I promise I'll visit you as often as I can."
"Is he taking you to the castle?" Toby whispered in her ear.
Sarah looked horrified. "You remember him don't you?" she whispered, grateful to The Goblin King for talking to her parents
"Yeah." He replied simply.
"He's taking me to his castle, yes…but I asked him to take me this time… so please don't worry. Oh, Toby. I will miss you." She smiled tearfully, kissing his head softly.
Toby threw his arms around her neck, hugging her.
When she finally got the courage to let go of the boy she walked over the tall menacing, Goblin King.
"Good evening to you all, we must take our leave."
Jareth said as he took Sarah's arm in his own and the two of them walked away from her family.
Looking back she saw them smiling sadly at her. Sarah's stomach turned itself into knots as a sudden fear started winding itself in her thundering heart.
Was she making the right decision? Or would she live to regret her choice? Whatever she may feel, she knew it was too late now.
The Goblin King led her outside of the house and into the trees just across the road from her childhood home.
"Why did you do that for me?" she asked once the two of them were far away enough from the house.
Jareth pondered the question "Let us just say, the Labyrinth really could do with a maid."
Sarah chuckled, shaking her head from side to side. She inspected The Goblin King. He was now back in his usual form, wild mane of hair, long black cloak, and leather gloves.
"Are you ready Sarah?"
Sarah took a deep shuddering breath…
"Yes."
Jareth walked over to her, handing her a crystal.
"Take it." He whispered
Sarah gulped and took the crystal.
Within a second she felt a warm tingling sensation in her palm. She noticed a blue light shining in the center of the orb and she looked into it. Upon looking closer she noticed stars inside the crystal, almost like the whole galaxy was inside it, the more she looked the more she wondered how she didn't notice it before.
She felt light headed and her vision began to blur.
"I wouldn't do that if I were you."
His voice brought her back, all of a sudden and she looked up from the crystal. The sight before her made her heart skip a beat.
The Labyrinth…
"The longer you look into the crystal, the farther away you go." He said, taking the glass orb from her shaking hands.
"Well, here we are again, after all, these years. You and I." he must have bent down to her level for she could feel his breath on her neck. She tried not to shudder.
"Like what you see?" he whispered in her ear
Sarah let out the breath she didn't know she had been holding in.
"It's beautiful…"
Jareth smiled. Pleased with her answer.
Slowly he backed away from her.
Sarah turned to face him and smiled.
"Thank you."
Jareth tried to ignore the way her smile made his heart leap.
"The pleasure is all mine."
When Sarah turned back to look at the view of the Labyrinth again she was greeted with a brick wall.
She looked around and noticed that they were now in the castle. Only it seemed so much emptier than it was before.
"Where are all the goblins?" she asked scouring the room.
"It's market day, most of them are at the market now. Others? Who knows."
Sarah inspected the room.
They were in the throne room. There were chickens everywhere, blankets and straw lay on the floor. Empty mugs were scattered around the room several of them had been knocked over by a chicken or an uncaring goblin, and the contents had spilled onto the stone floor.
Apart from that, the room looked decent enough. The thrown was in the center of the room, steps leading up to it.
She wondered what it would look like to see Jareth sitting on it. She imagined the sight would be…otherworldly.
"Tomorrow I will give you a tour around the castle, plus a list of chores to be done. I am hoping that you will obey my rules while you are here. And if you do not, a suitable punishment will be placed." His tone was serious but not unkind.
Sarah only nodded. She hated being treated like a child. But she didn't dare fight him. She didn't want to wake up tomorrow in her own world. Plus she was far too tired to argue.
"Let me show you to your room."
He waved his arm and the two of them transported into a new room.
Is this room rather large for a servant?
She wasn't able to say that, though. The room was beautiful. There was a double bed in the center of the room, the bedding was a buttercup yellow, dotted with cornflower blue flowers. Huge velvet gold curtains hung on either side of the bed. They looked a little dusty and could probably do with a clean but for the most part, they were lovely.
Just in front of the bed was a stone fireplace already lane out with logs, just waiting to be lit. on the mantelpiece was a small red box. Sarah was curious to look inside it, but there would be plenty of time for her to find that out. Above the mantle was a large picture of a forest of golden trees.
Sarah looked around the rest of the room. Just beside the fireplace was a dressing table. On the table were a large bowl and a jug. Obviously for washing in. Next to the bowl was what looked like a handheld mirror, on the back of the mirror were flowers and in the middle of the mirror was a rose.
Besides the dressing table was a wardrobe. Sarah was excited to see what was inside. So far, Sarah loved the room. It was beautiful and old. It reminded her slightly of the spare bedroom in Oak Wood Manor. She knew Mr. Grey would love this room.
Turning to the left were two huge lattice windows. Sarah walked over to them and with the sleeve of her green sweater she wiped away the dust from the window. The view was incredible. Surely from this window, she could see the whole of goblin city.
"I do hope you will be comfortable here."
Realizing she had been silent since they entered the room Sarah turned to face the Goblin King, who looked very out of place in his black clothing, although his hair matched the room very nicely.
"It's perfect. I couldn't wish for a better room, nor one as big. Thank you for your generosity." She smiled.
"I am indeed glad to hear it."
An awkward silence filled the room and Sarah shifted uncomfortably.
Jareth cleared his throat. "I must take my leave now. I'll meet you here tomorrow morning to give you your chores. You'll find your personal belongings in the wardrobe. Goodnight."
Before Sarah could even reply he had left the room leaving a trace of glitter behind him.
Sarah giggled.
I'm back… I'm actually back!
Sarah started to laugh and began dancing around the room like she didn't have a care in the world. When she was finally too dizzy to spin anymore she threw herself onto the huge bed.
She coughed as she breathed in the dust. This room couldn't have been used in years. She would have to give it a good clean at some point.
After resting on the comfortable bed for a bit longer Sarah decided it was time to unpack some of her belongings.
Remembering what Jareth had said, Sarah rushed over to the wardrobe to get out her suitcase but when she opened the door has eyes wandered over all the beautiful long dresses.
She ran her fingers on the fabrics of each dress, feeling their textures.
Deciding to investigate further she pulled out of the dresses.
This one was a beautiful lavender colour. It was a rather simple dress only the bodice was boned and was covered in tiny very pale pink daisies.
She hung the dress back up carefully then pulled out another. This one was a very dark green.
This one was perhaps a bit busier than the last. The neckline was low and lined with tiny gold jewels. The fabric was very heavy velvet. Perfect for winter walks. She smiled to herself thinking of the coming months ahead of her.
She put the dress back carefully and grabbed her suitcase.
As the day turned into night Sarah worked hard at making the large dusty room her own. Placing her personal belongings around the room, such as family photos, two of her favorite teddy's, Her books, and a couple of other things.
When she had emptied the whole suitcase and put it under the bed she took a quick look around the room.
It felt much cozier now than it had when she had first come in.
She changed into her pajamas and washed her face and hands in the wash bowl on her dressing table. Slowly she got into bed and it didn't take long before she was asleep.
The dark gray skies above her cried tears of rain soaking her from head to toe. What was she looking for? I know I'm searching for something, but what?...
"Thinking gets you nowhere, the mind wonder is a dangerous thing indeed."
Slowly Sarah turned to face him.
He stood tall amongst the trees, his clothes mostly gray and black; he fitted in perfectly with the weather. All except his hair, his long pale hair that blew softly in the breeze.
He walked towards her slowly, his eyes roaming over her.
"Why are you watching me?" she said, staring at him in all his glory as he stood over her.
"Why are you looking for me?"
"How do you know I was looking for you?"
"Why so many questions? Can't two adults enjoy each other's company without so much as a whisper?" he placed a gloved finger under her chin lifting it slowly and peering into her eyes.
"Not asking questions can be dangerous."
"Indeed…then let me ask you one, Why did you come back? Really? Surely you want more in life than to be my servant?my SLAVE. I thought your will was as strong as mine?"
Sarah glared up at him. "Oh, believe me, Goblin King, I didn't just come here to be your servant…Icame here because I belong here."
"Oh indeed you do, Sarah mine, you were born to be here."
Sarah's brows furrowed. "What do you mean?"
"I mean what I said, you were born to be here in the underground with me as your enemy, you were born to run the labyrinth and I was born to be defeated by you, but let me tell you this Sarah, I will rise again, and I will reclaim my power over you, I will crush every ounce of the happiness in your soul, I will make you suffer as I have since you stole away what wasn't rightfully yours…I will and there's nothing you can do to stop me. For you, wished yourself into my Labyrinth, and this time there is no way out." His hand roamed over her sides his face mere inches from hers.
Sarah gasped and backed away from him, but his hands had a strong grip on her felt her back come into contact with a tree and she knew she had no way out. She trembled against him, her breathing labored.
"How you turned my world,"
Sarah gasped as a sharp tip of a knife went through her chest. She choked out a sob and tears filled her eyes. her hand hovering over the wound.
"You precious thing…" He whispered into her ear before he captured her lips with his own, pulling her injured body against his own. The blood from her chest staining his clothing.
The thunder crashed around them once more before all turned to darkness…
