This chapter will be pretty short compared to the rest, this will be made up for in future chapters! As well as I will attempt to get the next one out within the week :) Now, with the rambling out of the way, please enjoy the third chapter of "Fix Me"!

Amity

Amity gulped as she stared at the human girl in silence, the eerie darkness spread around them, inching it's way through the dense forest as time went on. Amity tried to get a word out, but her throat was far too dry to manage a word, let alone a sentence.

Luz looked to be in the same boat, idly looking down at her hands as they played around in her lap, her eyes transfixed onto her fingers, seemingly trying to ignore anything and everything around her, especially Amity.

After what felt like years, Amity cleared her throat and mustered a simple word, "H-Hey..." The word escaped her dry mouth as only a faint whisper into the sea of night surrounding them. She wondered if Luz could even hear her words, despite them being fairly close to one another.

"Hey..." Luz responded, much to the surprise of the flustered and embarrassed teen. As Luz spoke, she lifted her head to look at Amity, which only caused the poor girl even more distress. Luz always had that impact on her, her eyes made her feel weak. She was lucky she was already laying down, otherwise she would have fallen from her knees giving out. What kind of person melts at a simple look in their direction...? Amity, of course.

Another moratorium of silence passed, and the girls seemed to be getting nowhere, and the awkward tension just rose more and more. That was until Luz, of course, started laughing, causing the green haired girl to raise an eyebrow.

"What are we doing right now?" Luz laughed, running her hand through her short brown hair, giggling away in the dark forest.

Amity smiled, contracting the ever contagious laughter from her friend and joining along in her little giggle fit. The two laughed, and the tension plummeted almost instantaneously, the awkward glances transforming into joyful smiles.

"I have no idea..." Amity responded after her giggle fit subsided, the two girls falling back into silence once more, albeit carrying a much different aura around it than before. Instead of an awkward, uncomfortable silence, it was warm and pleasant silence, basking in each others presence for as long as they could before they had to face reality once more.

"So..." Luz started, grabbing a slip of paper from her back pocket and tapping it, a small ball of light emanating from the crumpled up page, basking the two in the warm light. She brought her knee to her chest, and locked eyes with Amity, much to the green haired girl's dismay. "Why were you sleeping in the middle of a forest, exactly?"

Amity sighed, figuring the obvious question would be asked eventually. Despite her knowledge of it coming, she still had no idea how she was going to answer it. "Well... I... Needed some time away from my house and I was already going this way so I decided to take a walk in the forest to clear my mind and I just got tired and sat down and when I did I must have fallen asleep..." She spewed out quickly. She wasn't necessarily lying to Luz, but she wasn't telling her the full truth either.

Luz eyed her friend up and down, clearly not finding her answer satisfactory.

Before she could ask anymore potentially damming questions, Amity spoke up herself, "Well, why are you out here in the middle of the woods in the dark? It's a bit dangerous being out here alone at this time, isn't it?"

Luz shrugged, "Realmente no lo se..." She muttered, receiving a strange look from Amity, who of course had no idea what she just said. "Heh, sorry... It means 'I don't really know', sorry."

Amity's mouth shaped into an 'O' as she looked across to her friend, nodding. "I see... Makes sense. In all honesty, I don't know why I decided to come out here either. I know I wanted to get away from my family and everything, but I don't know why I didn't just go to the library..." She muttered, knowing full well the reason she ended up here was because she had no control of where she was running, and just ran to the nearest secluded area.

"Ah... I see..." Luz muttered, her nose crinkled up as she leaned back onto a nearby tree.

Another stint of silence draped upon the two girls, the veil of darkness around them being stopped by the tiny luminescent ball of light between them. They didn't know what to say, or rather, they didn't have the courage to say anything else. Perhaps they were simply using the silence as a way to excogitate, Amity surely was.

Luz, being the brash and unfiltered girl she was, decided once again to break the silence, "Amity... Why... Why did you run away from me when I saw you today? I... Don't... I don't know." She sighed, laying her forehead on her knee. "Can you please tell me why? Please answer honestly..." She muttered.

Amity looked away. She knew the answer, she knew why she ran away. But... Could she tell her? "I... I didn't want you to see me..." She mumbled under her breath, barely audible to the human sitting across from her.

Luz stayed quiet for a moment, looking as if she was trying her best to process what she had just said with the most optimism she could muster. "Why...?" She asked, looking over at Amity, leaning over and placing a hand on top of Amity's, "Why didn't you want to see me? Please..." She begged, Amity's hand tensing up under the warmth that Luz's provided.

"I... I didn't..." She felt her throat tense and her neck spasm as she flexed it involuntarily, her mouth felt dry like a desert and her palms were drenched in sweat. "I didn't want you to see me crying, Luz. I didn't want you to see me being weak... You are the one person I want to impress, and to have you see me when I am weak? I couldn't... I couldn't take that. I don't cry... Blight's don't cry... Yet I was... And I couldn't let you see me..." She croaked out, wanting nothing more than to bolt back home.

"Aww... Amity..." Luz scooted over some, getting closer to the witch. Amity felt her presence begin inching forward, and she felt her cheeks burn as the human she had come to adore so much scooted closer.

"I'm not going to think you're weak, I'm not going to make fun of you or be mean to you because you're crying... I'm not going to think less of you because you're crying... What kind of person does that? Not me, I refuse to stoop down that low and hurt others to fill my own broken ego. You're my friend, Amity. And I am going to treat you like one..."

Amity forced herself to look at Luz, feeling the foreign burning sensation of building up tears in the corners of her eyes, "R-Really...? You mean that...? You... You aren't going to think less of me?" She asked, allowing herself to have a bit of hope creep up into her chest.

"Of course, tonta," She patted Amity's head, much to the surprise of the witch.

In the course of 5 seconds, this human girl just sent every hormone she had in a frenzy, and she could say with confidence she did not enjoy it, at least while she was around her...

"T-Thank... Thank you..." Amity mumbled, her mind a haze.

She didn't even realize it as Luz scooted closer, her mind only registering the arms being wrapped around her, and a head being placed on her shoulder.

Warm... She thought as she felt her body relax into the warm embrace. She had always told people she couldn't stand hugs, mostly because she didn't like affection much from anyone, but... When Luz did it... She never felt more warm, more loved, more cared for in her entire life.

She only wished it could last forever.

If only...

But, the moment passed just as quickly as it came, and Luz pulled away, the faint smell of her perfume still lingering around Amity as she pulled away. Her arms tingled with the lingering warmth as she stared at her friend in the dimly lit forest.

"Luz... I..."

"Don't say anything, okay? You needed a hug, and I give my friends hugs when they need them, and you needed one. End of story."

Amity nodded, and smiled at Luz's assertiveness, she found her quite adorable when she was like that. It was obvious to Amity that Luz was the kind of person who preferred having direct control of her actions, and having reasoning behind all of them. It was a trait she found particularly interesting about the girl, one in the middle of list she could write of how she fell for her...

"I..." Luz sighed, and stood up, dusting her tights off. "I think we should get home, I am sure your parents are worried sick about you and I think I should get home before dinner gets any colder..." Luz mumbled, offering a hand to the sitting witch.

Amity scoffed, and rolled her eyes, "Yeah, I'm sure they are so worried. In fact, I imagine they are sitting and drinking their wine with the utmost worry in their hearts for where their little girl may be, I imagine my father is bouncing his knee slightly more rapid as he reads his book. And I imagine my mother's hands are shaking ever so slightly as she sews her new dress. Yes, I'm certain they are terrified." Amity spat venomously, grabbing Luz's hand and letting the human pull her up. "Thanks..." She muttered, still in annoyance from the thought of her parents.

"Are... Things really that bad at home?" Luz asked with concern.

Amity shrugged, and looked up at the treetops, "Well, they aren't that bad. I think they rationalize me being out this late by telling me they believe I can handle myself, which I can't say that they are lying... But I can't say I believe them either. Just not much trust at home, not much empathy. Stuff like that was lost in my family decades ago."

Luz nodded as she listened to Amity express her frustrations. "Well... That's why you got me, right? And Willow and Gus of course... You can trust us fully, especially me. I promise I'll never lie to you, Amity. I couldn't live with myself if I did."

Amity looked at her in shock, how could she make such a promise? How could she say something like that? "There is no possible way you mean that..." Amity shook her head and laughed, brushing off Luz's words with her hand. "You don't have to make promises you don't mean, I'm not going to be upset."

Luz shook her head, "I do mean it, Amity. You're my friend, how many times do I need to say that? I don't lie to my friends, that isn't okay. I know you may have been around a bunch of crappy people for a long time, but I am not one of those crappy people, I tell it how it is and I'm telling you that I mean that." Luz stated with unwavering confidence, crossing her arms under her chest and staring down the poor witch.

"I..." Amity was at a loss for words. She had never heard such a promise before, let alone reinforcing it that much with that much certainty... "... I believe you, Luz."

"Thank you!" Luz smiled, once again pulling her friend into an embrace.

Amity froze up, this time more than the last. She couldn't move... Her knees felt weak and her hands were shaking, the wind blew cold down her back, sending chills throughout her body as goosebumps prickled her pale skin.

She had had enough.

She couldn't do this anymore, she couldn't play this game anymore. She had to be honest with herself, she needed to be honest with Luz. She couldn't pretend anymore, she couldn't fake it anymore. She knew that if she walked away from this situation, she would never forgive herself.

"Luz..." She muttered, and lightly pushed her off, causing a look of confusion to befall the human's face.

"What is it Amity...?"

"I..." She grabbed Luz's hand clumsily, trying not to let it slip from her wet palms. Once she got ahold of it, she placed her opposite hand on top, and she looked into Luz's eyes. Those big, beautiful eyes...

"I need to tell you something..." She mumbled, trying to form words together as best as she could, trying to fill the empty, blank void that was her frazzled and fried mind.

Luz didn't know what to say in response, her cheeks were bright red and her own hands began to moisten between Amity's. She just nodded, as nothing else she tried would come out.

"I really like you. Like... A lot. More than I've ever liked anyone and... I... I want to be yours. I want to go out with you, Luz. I've wanted it since we began talking... I've wanted it for too long. I don't know why, but just being around you... Holding your hand like this... I can't even explain the rush of feelings and emotions inside of me. I can't keep this from you anymore, I can't keep lying to myself. I have a crush on you, Luz Noceda..."

Luz looked at her in pure shock, her mouth slightly agape as the witch poured out her confession to her.

"Will... Will you go out with me, Luz?" Amity asked quietly, her hands grasping Luz's tightly, body shaking, riddled with uncontrollable fear and anxiety.

Luz stared at her in silence for what felt like an eternity, the wind blowing softly, rustling the leaves in the forest around them.

The ball of light flickered out, leaving nothing but darkness and the sound of their beating hearts.

"I..."
