Chapter III

Nicholas POV:

My eyelids slowly peeled themselves open as my blue orbs started scanning the ceiling. Again for what seemed like the second or third time in the past few weeks, I woke up in pain. A feeling I hope to not get used to.

I looked around the room. It was a cabin. Clearly made out of wood. I looked around the cabin seeing beds, around nine and if you include the one I'm in that makes ten. I could see there were two tables lined with medical supplies. Where he was, this had to be the infirmary. I rose up sitting in bed, groaning as I rose. I looked down seeing that my left shoulder and pec was wrapped in a bandage with a blood stain coming from my pec. It must've been the cut that I suffered in my battle against that lion. I turned my head seeing a nightstand next to me, on that nightstand was a pelt. A golden pelt. It was the pelt of the lion that had attacked me and my mum.

I looked at the pelt with a frown on my face then glanced down at my chest once more. I think it's rather safe to say I came out on the better side. But what about Mum? She was hurt when I was fighting that creature. And I didn't see her here. I had to find her. Quickly. I grunted as I turned my body sitting on the edge of the bed before stepping off, feeling my cold feet hit the cold wooden floors.

"I knew I heard something in here." I heard a voice, an angelic voice at that, making me turn my head to look at the doorway. A beautiful girl with looks that would earn her Miss Universe or Miss USA if she wanted to. She had clear skin with a champagne like color with chocolate eyes that you could get lost in. She had black soft angled eyebrows and a nose piercing.

My eyes trailed down looking at the hourglass figure she had. A figure that most definitely gained the attention of many men and women alike.

"You must be the new guy, I'm supposed to show you around. I'm Aaliyah Tomlin but everyone just calls me Liyah." The girl said walking up to me standing next to the bed with her hand flashing me a smile. Her perfectly aligned pearly whites showing from her wide grin.

I stood up, damn near towering over at 6'4. She had to possibly be around 5'2 maybe around the same age as me.

"Nicholas White. You can call me Nic." I said, shaking her hand. Her brown orbs started to gaze into my electric blue eyes.

"Ooh, an accent. Where you from?"

"Brisbane."

"Oh so you're an Aussie?"

"Yes, I am." I noticed her eyes diverting off my eyes and trailing down looking at my figure with an approving nod before they found themselves back to my eyes.

"They got anymore like you where you from?" She asked, biting her lip.

"No ma'am, I'm one of a kind." I replied, running a hand through my hair. She looked away with a smile looking at the pelt that was on the nightstand.

"You did that?"

"Yeah. That thing attacked me and my mother. Speaking of which, where is she?"

"Who?"

"My mum."

"I don't know but she's not here. Last night we found you, lying on the ground as a storm passed over us. We found you outside of the camp grounds with that lion pelt over your body. We found you, no one else." So where was she? I'm here but she's not. I had to find out for myself. Maybe she was local or maybe she was still back home.

"Do you want to call her?" Liyah asked as she handed me her phone, unlocked with a keypad waiting for me to accept it to call my mother. I nodded, reaching out, grabbing the phone from her and proceeding to type in my mother's number, turning my back to Liyah.

My heart was racing. I could feel it. Almost as if it were about to pound right out of my chest. I waited to hear her sweet voice just to let me know that she was alive and hopefully back in Australia.

"Hello?" I heard her voice, making me sigh in relief with a smile.

"Hey mum, it's me."

"Nicholas, Are you alright? Did you make it there?"

"Yes, mum. I'm fine and I'm here at Camp. I don't know how I made it but I did."

"Your fathers probably watching over you. Protecting you and saving you as much as he can."

"Yeah, well, something tells me that's gonna be over pretty soon. Where are you?"

"I'm at home resting. I have a mild conconcussion. Nothing too serious, I should be fine in a few days. But hey don't worry about me, worry about yourself. Something tells me you're gonna need to. I love you Nicholas. I always will." I don't know why but hearing her say that made me tear up, I had to quickly wipe away my tears. I didn't want to be the joke of the camp. Imagine a 6'4, beefy, blonde kid crying in front of you, I would never be able to live that down.

"I love you too mum."

"Alright, you have my number, you can call me. And who knows when it's safe, maybe you can come visit."

"I would like that very much."

"Okay bye."

"Bye mum." I smiled as I hung up the phone and turned around to hand the phone back to its owner.

"Cute."

"I'm sorry?"

"Your relationship with your mother. I take it she's your mortal parent?"

"She is." I said taking a step forward standing in front of her.

"So who's your godly parent?" She asked with a smirk on her face.

"If I told you, you wouldn't believe me."

"Try me."

"My father is Zeus, King of the Gods." She looked me in the eyes, possibly looking for the truth in my eyes. I knew it was true, my mom knew it was true, I was the son of Zeus or a son of Zeus rather, I knew he was known for being a bit of a rolling stone and producing children left and right.

"I don't believe you. Nothing against you but we get campers here every year that claim to be his son." She said with a smirk before she started to look him up and down once more. "And now while you do look the part except for the hair." Her eyes finally made their way back up to my eyes, making me chuckle.

"I'll prove it."

"I'm sure you will." She said as she walked away from me walking to the table that held the medical supplies and grabbed an orange shirt throwing it to me. I caught it, unfolding it to look at the logo. It was a pegasus with the camp's wordmark above.

"And here I was thinking you were starting to like me shirtless." I joked making her roll her eyes in response..

"I'll be outside and bring that thing with you unless you want some of the Hermes' campers to steal it." She said and with that she left me inside the cabin alone to put on this somewhat ugly orange top.

After a few minutes of me struggling to put the shirt on, I walked through the doorway of the infirmary with the pelt on my shoulder. I looked around taking a look at what I could around the camp. I could see some campers giving me glances as they walked by some of them nice, some not so much. Everyone mostly wore these same ugly orange shirts. Of course, there's happened to fit them better than mine fit me. Mine fit me very snug like it was size or two down but it made me look much more ripped than I already was which probably could serve to be a blessing down the line. Maybe as a possible chick magnet.

The view from what I could see was beautiful. The water seemingly glittered as the sun's bright light reflected off the clear crystal blue waters. The landscape was populated with small buildings seemingly inspired by Ancient Greek style buildings with an open-air pavilion, an circular arena and an amphitheatre, all looking brand new with bright white columns glistening in the sun.

In a sand-pit nearby, there were many highschool kids and these half-goat, half-man creatures who were playing volleyball. Canoes glided across the lake. Kids in orange tees chasing each other around a cluster of cabins. Some of the campers shot at targets, practicing their archery and some rode horses. The crazy thing about these horses, they had wings much like the logo on my shirt.

"Come on, we don't have all-day." She said as she walked down the steps of the house with me following behind her.

"First thing first, this is the Big House. This is the place where Chiron, our activity director and Mr. D, the camp director, handle all the important business as well as the place where our camp counselors get together to hold their meetings. In the attic, there's a spirit, the Oracle of Delphi, who speaks of prophecies of the future but no one's been up there in years." Liyah said, pointing to the large, sky-blue house. The house that acted as a headquarters where the camp's administrators handled all administrative activities as well as the place where Chiron lived and the palace where camp counselors would get together to meet up.

She turned and started to walk down a path as I started to follow her down the path.

"So what do you know in terms of greek?"

"I know about the twelve olympians and Hades. Zeus, Posei-"

"Before you finish, I don't think it's wise to casually call out all their names. Some names are more powerful than you think." She said turning to look at me as if I did something wrong.

"Right. You never told me who your parents were for that matter." I said as she turned back around facing me.

"My dad is former NFL Linebacker Devin Tomlin and my mother is Aphrodite, Goddess of Love and Beauty." Honestly, that was kinda expected. She looked way too good to be the child of another god or goddess.

"So do they all look as good as you?" He flirted, making her giggle.

"More or less. Now come on, I have to finish up on this tour before eleven, I made a bet with one of the Apollo boys in archery." She said before she started to quickly walk down the path to continue on with the tour.

Liayh and I wrapped up our tour just a few minutes ago. We finished a bit earlier than expected mainly because she wanted to go practice archery with the Apollo boys like she mentioned earlier. I decided to sit it out this time. I'm not really in the mood for it and some of the blokes seemed to be a bit arrogant and as if they weren't exactly in the teaching mood. And I wasn't in the learning mood.

That girl, Aaliyah Tomlin, was a beautiful girl. She had my full attention during the tour and it wasn't just her looks that had me watching her closely. It was the fact that she knew more about this new world that I was stepping into than anybody else I knew. She gave me a basic rundown of the camp. It was a camp only for Half-Bloods, any mortals weren't allowed in the camp and couldn't get it because of a border created by the King of the Gods himself, Zeus, to protect us.

There were only twelve cabins although it was said that the Hermes' cabin housed more campers than anything, mostly being the cabin where the children who had yet to find out who their godly parent was were to stay and the cabin where children of the minor gods who hadn't yet received a cabin. And of course it's where the children Hermes lived. It was safe to say that Hermes was the one Olympain with the most children. Unfortunately so, it's where I would have to be the place where I would have to sleep until I was claimed.

The bloke had managed to save my life twice. Why couldn't he claim me as one of his many scions? The cunt couldn't even keep his own snag in his pants but I guess that was expected given that he was known for being a bit of a rolling stone in ancient times.

But anyway, that's besides the point. Hera, Poseidon, Demeter, Ares, Athena, Aphrodite, Apollo, Artemis, Hephaestus, Hermes, Dionysus and my father, Zeus of course. Each cabin was specifically designed to match the domain of that god or goddess. The ironic part about it was the fact that Artemis' someone known for being a virgin goddess who never had children had a cabin but from what I hear, it's the place where the Hunters stayed. The Zeus cabin had to be the biggest cabin out of them all looking as if it were a bank made out of white marble. It had polished bronze doors that seemed to shimmer like a hologram with the design of lightning bolts streaking down the doors.

I couldn't take my eyes off it. I sat on a wooden log in front of a camp-fire staring directly through the flames at the cabin with a frown on my face.

"So you're the new camper." I heard a voice say from behind me. The voice sounded british. So I wasn't the only one here from over the great blue sea. I turned around seeing a tall fellow with pale skin with jade colored eyes and long black hair that seemed to be slicked down with grease.

"I am. My name is Nicholas. Nicholas White." I said standing up, turning around to greet the half-blood who spoke to me. Standing up, I noticed that I was a little bit taller than maybe by an inch or two. I extended my hand out as a sign of respect offering a handshake.

"I am George Halloway the fourth. Son of Hecate, Goddess of Magic, Witchcraft and Sorcery." He said, shaking my hand as a charming smile appeared on his face. Something about this Bloke didn't really strike me as trustworthy. He had to look of someone who just wouldn't be the type of guy you could trust with your life.

"So who do you happen to be the scion of?"

"If I told you, you wouldn't believe me."

"Zeus." There was pause from George before he began to chuckle.

"Okay, seriously. Who is your parent?"

"I just told you." George continued to chuckle as Nicholas looked around while the man who asked him these questions was laughing in front of him.

"You honestly expect me to believe that. Aside from your eyes, I don't see a resemblance. I don't see anything that could convince me of this, maybe a child of Ares judging by your frame or Apollo possibly." George said as a frown found itself on my face.

"I am the son of Zeus, give me a chance and I'll prove it." I said clenching my fist.

"I'm sure you'll get that chance very soon. You might want to start to get ready. We'll be having Lunch soon. Son of Zeus." He muttered the last part before walking away from me leaving me there. What he said in a way pissed me off, I am the son of Zeus, I just wished the Bloke would claim me but if he did that, I would probably start to endure the wrath of his wife, Hera. It was now my time to prove to everyone that I was the son of Zeus.

The rest of my day was rather uneventful, we had lunch which was incredibly delicious if I have to say. It wasn't mum's cooking but it did the job. After lunch we had a session of weapon-making where I attempted to make a sword which didn't end up working well but one of the Hephaestus kids ended up helping me out. We had dinner and played volleyball, another sport that I am not so good at.

But currently most, if not all the campers sat alongside the campfire for a sing-a-long with the Apollo's campers but currently one of the Ares' kids by the name of Alex Vought was telling stories. I met Alex in the weapon-making class we had earlier and he was dick.

"Can you tell the story of Dawnbreaker?" asked one of the younger members of the camp. Dawnbreaker, what the hell is that? I looked up with a confused frown on my face as I looked at Alex who chuckled at the younger member offering him a fist bump. So this tall, rugby-built, red headed cunt can be nice just not to me.

"Eons ago, "The King of the Gods" Zeus reigned supreme over all that exists. Everyone knew of his most powerful weapon, the master bolt but what if I told you that wasn't his only powerful weapon? Would you believe me if I said that Hephaestus, the greatest blacksmith in all of the world, created a weapon for Zeus weided in the hellfires of the underworld? This weapon was powered by thunder and lightning produced by the Zeus during a storm. Some say that the weapon was only a mere fraction of Zeus true power but others claim that even a fraction of his power was enough to make the gods cower and quake in their boots." Alex said as a loud pop of thunder could be heard in the sky making me momentarily take my gaze off of Alex and onto the clear skies that began to get fogged with clouds.

"Although this weapon was made for Zeus, himself, he entrusted this power in the great mighty Ares. Ares, already all powerful, added the power of Dawnbreaker to his arsenal and became the most powerful man in Olympus. Aside from Zeus himself." The sky gave off a loud thunder boom as we recognized his power. I started to realize that what people said about my father was true, he could be a bit of a drama queen and arrogant prick.

"Ares with this great and powerful axe dominated his opponent and cemented his reign over all as the god of war. But Ares thought he could overthrow the gracious Zeus and take the throne for himself but Zeus proved to be too powerful and defeated Ares in a great battle. Zeus took Dawnbreaker and hurled it so far that Ares couldn't find it along with an enchantment. An enchantment that only someone who proves themself to worthy in the eyes of Zeus may retrieve this powerful weapon." Thunder rumbled through the sky again as rain began to pour from the skies. Zeus was probably tired of hearing us talk about him and wanted us to disperse. I sat on the log watching as the campers started to run to their cabins running from the rain but I sat here. I don't know why but the crisp water hitting my skin somehow felt soothing, relaxing. I know I wasn't a son of Poseidon but this water felt different. I stood up and made my way to the Hermes' cabin. I haven't proved that I was the son of Zeus yet so I slept in the Hermes' cabin tonight. But one thing I did do, I managed to hide the lion pelt near the Zeus cabin so when I did go there, I would have it. But I knew one thing after today, life in this new world that I was in was gonna be different but I'm ready for it. And I'm gonna prove to everyone that I am the son of Zeus. But one thing couldn't escape my mind: Dawnbreaker.

A/N: Alright so a little bit of an uneventful chapter here just a small introduction for Nicholas at Camp, he hadn't met all the campers I wanted him to meet yet but he will next chapter and we'll get some more interactions between him and some campers. This is an AU so Percy, Annabeth, Thalia, etc. don't exist here. And if you don't like it then you can simply go read something else. And I am accepting a few OCs so let me know if you're interested.

Until Next Time!
