Kakashi's POV

I wasn't expecting Emiko to be in civilian clothes. She slides into the booth across from me and gives me a small smile. "Hello Taketori-san," I say flashing a smile back. "Ah Lord Hokage, now that your date has arrived, what can I get started for you sir?" the waiter asks and I dare not look Emiko in the eyes. "Two cups of sake and the salted beef tongue meal," I reply as the waiter leaves and I meet Emiko's eyes for the first time. She gives me a small smile and asks "Is the salted beef your favorite here?" folding her arms across her chest. "Yeah, I suppose," I reply taking a sip of the water that was already prepared on the table. "Oh well considering you ordered for the both of us, I figured there was something you wanted me to try." She replies with a smile. Oh yikes. I wasn't expecting her to be upset about that. "I uh, I apologize, if you would like something else you are welcome to do so," I say nervously, sipping the sake that luckily came moments before. "It's alright Kakashi-sama, I was simply posing a question," Emiko says. I don't really know what to say to that. "Thanks again for the herbal pills, I have been resting peacefully during the summit." Emiko opens her mouth to reply but is cut off when our food arrives. She thanks the waiter and immediately places some of the meat on the hot grill in front of her. "It's really no problem Kakahi-sama. I've had bad nightmares since I was a child. And they got worse after the war. There were a few weeks where I wasn't sleeping at all. That's when I went to Lady Tsunade and she gave me the herbal remedy. I know you were embarrassed about the incident at the hotel on the border. Night terrors are nothing to be ashamed of, everyone saw things in the war that were likely to haunt them at night." Okay so now she can read my mind like a book, it's fine.

"I know. However I usually choose not to disclose such things to people if I can help it." Emiko flashes a quick smile at me and places more meat on the grill. "It's alright Kakashi-sama, I won't tell." She replies slightly amused and smirking. And for some reason I feel the heat rise in my cheeks. I silently thank kami for my mask. I will focus on my food for a little while. "So Hokage-Sama, how are your students?" I am not shocked at the question. I get asked about those three a lot. "All three of them are well. Naruto just made Jonin and he's dating Hinata Hyuuga now. Sakura's children's clinic has been a success, she is really making a difference in those kid's lives. And Sasuke, I think he is beginning to see the world in a new way." And while it isn't a complete answer, it's the truth. "Ah. I am glad to hear they are doing well. I haven't been on a mission with Uzumaki-san or Haruno-san in a while, and I haven't spoken to Uchiha-san since he was a child." She gives me a smile and begins to wipe down her side of the small table.

Emiko's POV

The silence that descended on the table after my reply was awkward. I have no idea what this is. "We should head out soon, the other Kage and I still have some business to attend to in the morning and we will be heading back to the village in the afternoon." Kakashi's voice pulls me from my thoughts. "Right. Thank you for the food, Lord 6th." I got up from our small booth and headed for the door. "Call me Kakashi." His voice says from behind me and his arm reaches around to open the door. I feel strange calling him Kakashi, he is the hokage after all. "I am not sure that would be appropriate, sir." It's simply what I think. "Emiko-san, we are friends, there is no need for formalities when you are off duty. When you don't have on the ANBU mask, you can call me Kakashi." Something in the way he said the last part of the statement makes me think he's serious. "Alright." We reach the hotel in a short amount of time and I am unsure as to what to make of the whole dinner. We stop in the hallway and I feel the heat rise in my cheeks as Kakashi steps close to me "Well, goodnight then Emiko." He says and his eyes crinkle in the way they do when he smiles. "Goodnight, Kakashi."
