Cosmo really didn't want to get out of bed this morning…

It was 8 AM the morning after he had gone to see his parents and Cosmo hadn't been able to sleep until around 4 or 5, when his eyes eventually gave up trying to stay awake. He had been tossing and turning all evening thinking about what his mother had said, wishing he had never told her about the child in the first place.

Lie to Wanda and say he cheated on her? What kind of mother would suggest that to their child? Cosmo could get over the fact that she and Wanda would never be the best of friends, but the fact that they had almost stopped trying to make an effort..well..it hurt him. He at the very least hoped that a grandchild would force them to act more civilized towards each other. Now, they don't want anything to do with each other.

The night after he had left their house, Cosmo's father blew up his phone, apologizing profusely on her behalf. Cosmo ignored them, putting his phone on silent. His text tone was starting to give him a headache, not to mention he was hoping that his mother would be the one to apologize for once in their life.

Wanda got up as normal and headed towards the shower, but not without looking at Cosmo with concern on her face. After she had gotten out of the shower, gotten dressed, and had her pink hair curled, she poofed out of the room to get Timmy's wishes squirted away before he went off the school, promptly poofing back in the room after.

"Cosmo? Are you ok? You haven't been sleeping well today.", she said, sitting on her side of the bed, "Do you feel sick again?"

"No, I'm fine. I guess it was just one of those night..hehe."

"Come on. Tell me what's wrong, cupcake."

"Nothing's wrong!", Cosmo said, jumping up, "I'm fine! Mama and I just got into a fight, that's all."

"Oh.", Wanda said, her voice dropping a bit, "What did you two fight about, if I may ask."

"She..uh..didn't think I was doing my taxes correctly, and got mad at me because I didn't come to her sooner. She also got upset that I don't visit as much as she would like."

"Well, we have been busy with Timmy's wishes. I wish she was more understanding towards you, Cosmo. I'm sorry about that."

"It's not your fault. Don't blame yourself.", Cosmo said, finally getting up from his bed, "I'm gonna run to the store for a little while to clear my head. Do you want anything?"

"No I'm alright. Actually, maybe some chocolate?"

"Alright baby doll.", he said, kissing her on the cheek before getting in the shower himself, where it was just him, his thoughts, and his baby.

Cosmo clutched his stomach as he floated along the aisles of food to look for the perfect anniversary supplies. His stomach growled and Cosmo felt the baby getting slightly restless as he made his way towards the seafood aisle, where the marine smells hit harder than any smell he had before,

"I know you're hungry in there, cupcake. I promise we'll have lunch soon.", Cosmo said, patting his stomach. Mmm cupcakes…that might be a good dessert. After he had grabbed a couple of beautifully red lobsters, Cosmo made his way towards the baking aisle, where there were boxes of cakes and cupcakes, along side multicolored frostings and sprinkles. He made his way towards the cupcake boxes that seemed to have any type of flavor Cosmo could think off. Strawberry, Chocolate, Lemon, even a Cookies and Cream and Confetti flavor. Cosmo felt himself drool but shook his head quickly. Man, he really shouldn't go to the store hungry.

"Sweetheart, help Daddy decide what to get. I'm thinking either the chocolate or the cookies and cream. Your Mommy really likes chocolate, you know.", Cosmo whispered, rubbing his stomach once more and ignoring some of the stares he got at the store. He kept staring at the boxes, allowing his cravings to turn him towards the chocolate batter with chocolate frosting and sprinkles. "Mmm, yeah. I think your Mommy would really like that. I wonder if you'll like it too. I really hope you're like your mom."

After he left the baking aisle, his stomach kept growling in hunger, and Cosmo felt the baby squirm a bit. He looked around the shop a bit nervously, trying to figure out what exactly he wanted for lunch before he felt a soft tap on his shoulder.

"Cosmo? Baby?", Cosmo turned around to hear his father's voice from behind him, looking rather timid and nervous as he stood behind him in line.

"Dad? W-what are you doing here? I thought mom does online ordering?"

"I..she does yes, but she forgot a few things and demanded that I go to the store while she was at work. Um..", he whimpered, "How are you?"

"Could be better. Thanks for asking."

"Oh, I'm so sorry about the way your mother was when you have lunch with us. I..well..she's just surprised and.."

"I don't want to hear anymore excuses dad. She had no right to interfere with my relationship with Wanda and suggest that the child wasn't hers! Of course it was!", Cosmo yelled, forcing several others attention.

"Cosmo! Please, just relax for me.."

"No! I don't understand it, dad! Why does everything she do get a pass in her eyes, and the rest of us have to walk on eggshells around her!", Cosmo yelled, his voice trembling a bit as tears are falling down, "She-she wasn't even focused on the baby. It was just Wanda. It had always been about Wanda."

"Honey I.."

Cosmo started to sob a bit in the middle of the store. His father took his out of line and brought his towards an aisle that didn't have a lot of people surrounding it, hugging him and rubbing his back gently.

"I-I don't understand why..", Cosmo sobbed, barely able to catch his breath. "Why does it she only care about herself?"

"I-I'm not sure. I..maybe she's just afraid her baby boy's finally grown up.", Papa Cosmo sighed, "You're the only one out of the 3 kids we had that still had full contact with us. I still hear from your sister from time to time, but I don't even think your brother knows my phone number. So, I think she might be afraid of losing you to your wife, if that makes any sense."

"I-It's not a good excuse, though."

"I know. I understand and I agree. But it's no use telling her this. She's just going to get defensive.", his father sighed, wiping the tears off Cosmo's face. "I know what your mother said had really upset you, but is there anything else bothering you as well? You seemed a bit nervous when I found you, not to mention you were rather on edge when you came over yesterday."

"I'm just really hungry..The baby wants to eat something, and I skipped breakfast this morning because I puked suddenly in the shower this morning."

"Well, why don't you put up your groceries at your place and meet me up for lunch? I'm not supposed to leave the house normally unless Mama says so, but I think once she leaves again at 2, then I'll be free for a few hours. I'm thinking that little bistro on Starlight Drive? Is that alright?"

"Yeah ok. I kinda need a nap first anyways.", Cosmo started yawning before receiving a small smile from his father.

"Yes. You and the baby need all the rest you can get right now.", he said, finally able to check out, "Well, I'll meet you then."

Cosmo waved his father goodbye before being allowed to check out his own items. As soon as he was done, he poofed into the kitchen and placed Wanda's chocolate on the counter and stuffed the cupcake stuff in the pantry. He then took the lobsters that he had bought and chilled them in the cooler they kept in their garage, after stuffing it with fresh bags of ice he had bought just before he left the store.

As he made his way back towards his room and into bed for a quick name, he kept thinking about what his father had said to him. Cosmo never did like how his father would either keep quiet or almost defend his wife's actions but admitted that he wondered if he only enabled her out of fear.

Unlike his long-lost siblings, Cosmo felt as if he had struck a chord with his mother growing up. She would always take plenty of pictures of him as a kid, and would post his drawings on the fridge, blocking off his brother or sister's few projects, and always calling him "her little Picasso". But as he got closer to her mother, Chelsea and Schnozmo didn't seem like they wanted much out of him anymore. Chelsea would occasionally offer some words of advise when asked but was often in her own little world, looking up either fashion magazines or trying to find a job. Cosmo even remembered catching her looking for a new apartment one night when she wasn't even 16 yet. Before he dozed off, Cosmo made a mental promise to himself that if the baby were to have any siblings, that he would treat them much better off and more equal. They deserve it, after all..

"So..what's been bothering you, sweetheart? Is the pregnancy rough.", Papa Cosmo asked, sipping on his water, "I remember when I was pregnant with your sister. Oh, the dear just wouldn't stop kicking to save her life."

"No. I'm only a few weeks in, so not much kicking yet.", Cosmo chuckled, "I don't know. I've been thinking about Mama lately and how she treated my brother and sister."

"Oh..", Papa Cosmo sighed, frowning, "I think I already know the answer, but have you heard from them at all by any chance?"

"No I hadn't. I guess they're busy with other things."

"You are planning on telling them about the baby, right?"

"I guess..I don't know.", Cosmo shrugged, "I don't know if I want to disturb them."

"But they have the right to know, dear. They are going to be a Uncle and Aunt. I think someone should at least try to tell them.", Papa Cosma said, "Oh, I do hope they're holding up alright. I hadn't heard from your sister in a while. She normally at least sends me a text every few weeks or so, but lately..nothing."

At his father's last statement, Cosmo felt his body tense up. His sister wasn't very communicative anyways, but she did have some sort of close bond with her father, much like what Cosmo had with their mother, so her not saying anything concerned Cosmo deeply. Is she..she couldn't be. Did she die? No, fairies can't die, idiot! Ugh..

"Cosmo? Cosmo are you there?", Papa Cosmo asked, waving his hand around, "Sweetie, what's the matter?"

"I..she's not..I just.."

"Shhh..it's ok. Take as much time as you need."

"She's not..missing or dead or anything..is she?"

"I don't think so. The news would have said something if she were declared missing. You know Jorgen does a pretty good job of keeping up with all the fairies in Fairy World. He would know if someone was missing."

"I guess you're right. I know we weren't that close, but I hope she's at least ok."

"I know. I hope so too. I miss her.", his father sighed, before the two males sat in silence for a few minutes, Papa Cosmo wiping his eyes a bit.

"Does Mama ever talk about them? My brother and sister?"

"She's been very quietly recently, I'm afraid. But when they moved out, she was devastated. She even took back up vodka and sprite just so the pain would be easier."

"Wow.."

"She's getting better now, dear. Please don't worry. She drinks mostly the beer in the fridge and will occasionally have some coke and whiskey. I'm just worried that all this drinking is bad for her liver."

"So why do you still go to the store, or let her go to the store knowing full well she's just gonna buy more?"

"What can I do, Cosmo? She's a full-grown adult, and she's not doing anything illegal. Please, can we stop talking about this?"

"Yeah..sorry Papa.", Cosmo mumbled, hearing his stomach growl once more. At long last, their food finally arrived, and while his father had only order a small salad, Cosmo had ordered two large chicken salad sandwiches, with fruit, fries, and a chocolate shake. Papa Cosmo smiled slightly as his son started devouring the meal as if it were his last, "Wow, the baby sure is hungry huh?"

"Uh huh."

"You know if you want, I can ask Mama if I can come by sometime to help set up a nursery. I've been doing some research to finding a good baby shower gift, and then I decided to look up some nursery ideas. Oh, but I wasn't sure if you wanted to wait for the gender."

"Not sure yet. I gotta tell Wanda first, but yeah. You can come to the baby shower if you really wanna."

"Oh I would.", Papa Cosma smiled, "Oh, I'm so excited for you. I really am. I can't wait to hold the baby in my arms for the first time and give them hugs and kisses. You can count on me being there. Just let me know the time and place."

"Alright. I just gotta remember.", Cosmo said as he kept devouring his food, "Actually, I was thinking of telling her on our anniversary tomorrow. I just gotta learn how to cook the lobsters."

"Oh! Well, I can send you my recipe when I get home dear.", Papa Cosma said, before smiling at his son's stomach, "That means you get to meet your Mommy soon! Yes it does, sweetheart! Yes it does! Aww.." Cosmo's face turned red as the surrounding tables started at the squealing male fairy next to them.

"Dad, come on. We're in public."

"Aww..I'm sorry, Cosmo. I'm just so excited.", Papa Cosma's voice finally lowered as the waiter came by with the bill. "I really hope these 3 months go by."

"Between you and me..I hope so too"
