Re:Zero Natsuki Subaru The Sage

Chapter 1 Meeting the Big Breasted Weirdo

Darkness is everywhere, everlasting, ever present, never seeming to dissipate. Excruciating pain is being felt, memories of being dismembered, eaten, fill the dark void. Futile screams for aid cut short by the crunch of a skull being crushed, brain matter oozing out of the ruined head. Despair and sadness soon followed, and in the end everything was silent. An endless abyss of nothingness, where sound, thought, feeling, emotion, passion all boils down to nothing. A wasted venture, a doomed quest.

Until a certain queer event started happening. Brain matter rapidly oozed it's way back inside the skull, already mending itself from the former damage. The pleas of aid return, along with the owner's voice, the strewn limbs return to their host, grotesque body parts hastily assembling themselves together like a bizarre jigsaw puzzle.

Events quicken, the boy that was seen heading up the staircase instead making his way back down, still facing the direction of his upcoming doom, as an odd film, a film strip played in reverse.

Everything is reverted, the boy is back in his original place slumbering peacefully as tears leak from his eyes. Then:

"AGGHHHHH! HYEEK.. (Cough, Cough). Ughhh…" unintelligible mutterings and screams of extreme agony come out of the boys throat. He may very well tear his vocal cords to shreds. A rather sad way to begin what may eventually become another(?) cycle.

Tears flow out of Natsuki Subaru, as he holds his throat in his hands, trying his hardest to stop screaming and calm his voice. But he can't, he can't stop for he fears that once he does, death may come to reclaim him again.

In a broken voice, filled with despair and utter horror, his maddened rambling continuing, he manages to suppress his anxiety somewhat and utters:

"WHAT WAS THAT. AGGHH… UGHH… WHAT THE HELL IS WRONG WITH THIS WORLD!?"

He breaks down again, wishing nothing more to be in his old home again, the safety of those four walls seemingly as impenetrable as the highest and sturdiest castle. He curls up in a fetal position and just holds his head tightly tucked against his chest, tears and snot ruining his black and orange tracksuit, as he shakes, willing the memories of a time soon to come away.

He closes himself off from the world, his mind racing and full of flashbacks. His own legs twitching violently mere feet away from him, the foul odor of the contents of his stomach increasing in intensity, rising up, threatening to break free.

Those wild and violent animals that lure prey by disguising themselves to be a beautiful garden of flowers keep paralyzing the boy's mind. As he keeps falling deeper and deeper into the bottom of the darkness that greedily wants to engulf him, a memory that was hazy before becomes clearer at every passing moment, shocking the boy with the feelings he felt.

"I Love you Natsuki Subaru! You are my most treasured person and the hero the world needs!" mutters a certain silver haired girl from his memory.

A bright beacon that is pushing off the encroaching despair that is suffocating Subaru, slowly pushing away the darkness and the horrors within his mind. Another brief thought of that hazy memory becomes crystal clear and he hears his angel speak those bold and passionate words:

"No matter what happens, or what you go through, I will always love you, my beloved!"

The warmth of that sentence pulsates through his heart. His eyes tear up as he struggles to remember more words, any words that this young, and beautiful lady lass, that wears her heart on her sleeve, would say to a loser like him.

A coward that ran away at the first sight of danger. A fool that did not try to observe the situation, or even bother helping. And instead acted like this was just a simple fantasy world. Where he would be greeted by a guide and gets to show his greatness to the simple minded denizens that inhabit this land.

"How naïve have I been, this world is obviously fraught with danger, ready to consume an idiot like myself. I don't deserve your love, Tella-Tan…" He utters as his eyes close, yet he is already showing signs of improvement, the warmth those words brought his pathetic self to a sense of calmness, already lifting his spirits by a small yet very steady and important margin.

Slowly his breathing returns to normal. His wild, beating heart manages to fractionally slow it's pace and the tears pouring from his moist eyes eventually come to a stop. With a sigh he passes out exhausted from his emotional scarring and violent outburst.

In a location not seen nor known in time, a certain silver haired girl is seen hugging her chest to her knees and sobbing quietly yet painfully. Her beautiful, amethyst colored eyes are marred in sorrow and grief.

"I am an idiot, a fool, how could I forget to tell him, to warn my beloved about how dangerous venturing outside the tower can be. I… *hic*… HATE MYSELF!" screams the half-elf in self-hate, as the poor, kind-hearted soul she loves has died once again. Suddenly she shivers as her eyes take on a more crazed expression and she panics and forcefully wrests control from her dreaded nemesis.

The parasite that shares her very body. The reason why the world hates and tried to rally all of its might to destroy her for good. The Witch of Envy attempts to assume control.

"You bumbling fool, that boy is our beloved. For us to cherish and keep beside us forever and ever. Your useless self-worth is half the reason we got in this situation in the first place!"

Utters Envy with complete loathing at how weak the shared soul of their body is.

Satella struggles and puts her hands on her ears, trying to keep the toxic element of her from further degrading her damaged self-esteem and mental state. She doesn't want to believe it is all her fault. Her beloved showed up in their world with no rhyme or reason, and panicking, she gave him the only ability she could bestow upon him.

What a disgusting power, she feels as she recalls the gift she bestowed upon him. At the rate it is going, he will do nothing but suffer more and more, and how long can his kind and gentle soul last before shattering? She doesn't want her beloved to go through such pain. She just wants Subaru to be with her as they share embraces, for him to give her a pat on the head when she is feeling down.

For them to cuddle and smile as they gaze into each other's eyes with the same love that they both share within their souls.

As her thoughts grow darker she recalls his response to her words of affection:

"Wait! I wish to remember this moment, and treat it as my most treasured memory. I cannot respond to these feelings of yours so soon but, give me time and I will surely give you an answer that will satisfy you!"

Her breath hitches and tears fall from her eyes again, but this time they aren't of sorrow and sadness, but rather of joy and of love. She will not continue to blame herself for everything. She will share her hero's brightest moments, as well as the darkest. With a small, sad smile on her face, filled with renewed determination she passionately states:

"My beloved… I will continue to watch everything you are going through. Even if the world forgets you, I'll never forget you. Even if no one knows your pain, I know. When you sleep, I'll bring you to our own place, the shadow garden, to comfort you and tell you that you are not alone and that I am always with you, watching and knowing all your pain and suffering that no one knows. Even if the world forgets you and everyone leaves you behind, I won't.

I will always be there for you. Like what you did for me when I was alone. Please be safe my beloved, for I am here watching and I LOVE YOU!" The other side of her slumbers once more inside her subconscious. Satella knows her beloved will not be able to hear these words. She just gazes towards the stars that surround her, and whispers a prayer for her Subaru to be safe.

In Subaru's mindscape he is floating in what seems to be a transparent, corporeal, body. He is at peace here, quiet and nothingness surrounding him. There is no darkness or suffering in this world, with nothing to disturb his tranquility. His memories of his father Kenichi and of his fierce eyed mother Naoko bring a smile to his face as he sinks in those peaceful and blessed moments he had. He can't wait to wake up and surprise his dad with a takedown, or help his mom with some chores that his lazy bum had been slacking off on.

He can't wait to wake up and surprise them with a sudden burst of energy and cheer, rather than being holed up in his room again, as he had done time and time again to hide away from the world that petrifies him so.

Subaru struggles to open his eyes and he feels himself lying in a comfortable bed, which he relaxes further into. After a few blissful minutes of peace and rest, he suddenly remembers that he had fallen asleep on the hard floor of the cold tower he was located in.

With the explosive energy he had earlier of wanting to get up and help his parents, he is reminded that he is no longer in his world and becomes gloomy. He becomes slightly depressed as he thinks to himself:

"In Most Isekai, the protagonist never goes back to their original world. While this may be a twisted and warped world, I have a sinking feeling that those mechanics may present themselves here as well. Sigh, I'll just deal with it later and focus on surviving. Okay time to get u…! What the.." He suddenly realizes as he feels like he can't move a single limb.

With a growing feeling of alarm he opens up his eyes fully and tries to get up, but found that there was a problem. After blinking several long and unbelievable seconds his brain finally catches up to interpret what his eyes have been staring at.

A tall, scantily clad woman was snuggling up against him, her dark eyelashes fluttering softly as she slept peacefully. She was wearing what seemed to be a black bikini top?! As well as something that could barely be called shorts, since they stuck out maybe four inches from the pelvic area.

She was also sporting a bowtie of similar color to the tracksuit that the boy wore. And pretty much nothing else, Subaru glanced from the bed he lay in, and saw a cape of identical color laying haphazardly on the floor. His mind briefly broke again, but not in despair, but horror and could feel the blood rushing through his cheeks, a clear blush present on his face.

"Why is this happening again? If this is a dream then I can't decide if I want to wake up or not!" Rambles Subaru as all the blood rushing to ...various areas is making him feel rather faint. First, he met a silver haired angel while he was asleep. And now, upon awakening, to this- oh wait what is that pressing against my chest?! He stares down in disbelief, bearing a faint nosebleed as he comes to terms with the situation he finds himself in.

Apparently, This woman was, for a lack of a more proper word, well-endowed in her chest area,(Wink, Wink). As Subaru could obviously feel and experience having her snuggling against him with no physical distance between them at all.

Poor Subaru is rather conflicted. Should he wake her up, or stay in bed and embrace this warmth. As his thoughts become more and more disorganized, in his memories he recalls a tender and radiant smile. Worth more than a million suns, and he stabilizes his raging male hormones.

"Tella-Tan is the only one for me! Besides I am an innocent shut in and not even of age, Calm yourself Natsuki! Your mind is a gentle river, flowing serenely and granting quietude and peace." After repeating this mantra to himself several more times, he regains his wits and determined attitude and gently shakes the woman's shoulder to wake her up.

However, instead of waking her up Subaru feels a stronger pressure keeping him nailed down to the bed. As he grits his teeth at the sudden change he shouts:

"Oi, can you wake up PLEASE! You are crushing my oh-so tender body to pieces! This is painful so please wake up and get off of this instant!"

"Nooooo~." Replies back a lazy voice, still drunk with drowsiness as arms quick as a snake envelop Subaru, preventing him from truly being able to break out of the cage this woman used her own body to make.

"This is absurd, I don't even know who you are, but I am telling you to get off me NOW." Bellows Subaru as he feels a twinge of guilt at shouting at this Big Breasted Weirdo, but he is starting to have difficulty breathing due to the constricting embrace he is being oh, so unfairly subjected to.

"Hmph, this is Master's punishment after being gone so long! I was super happy to see ya; even if you were sleeping on the bottom floor. After bringing your body up here to rest. Shaula started thinking, and well, you deserve this punishment for leaving me for so long. Hmph!" Declared with a cheerful voice this odd woman that has latched onto himself like an octopus.

"Master? What in the hell are you talking about, I've never had servants! My family is an average middle income family in japan, we couldn't afford servants even if we wanted them! At least loosen up a bit, I.. am h..aving… trou..ble.. brea…thin..g." Pants out a severely oxygen deprived Subaru as his consciousness starts to slip back to dreamland.

Shaula loosens her limbs but doesn't let go as she suddenly straddles Subaru who can finally breathe again. She crosses her arms against her ample chest, giving the boy a desire to look away yet her firm stare keeps his eyes in place. She stares at him with a slight frown, and as the tension slowly accumulates, Subaru starts panicking, and her mouth splits open in a wide grin and her green eyes with those strange dots lighten up like a megawatt.

"MASTER, I HAVE MISSED YOU SO MUCH!" She declares in joy as she hugs him and snuggles up to him, albeit not as bone crushingly as before. She rubs her cheek against Subaru's as he feels completely bewildered by the intimacy this woman is showing him. He starts to think about the previous interaction and remembers she addressed herself as 'Shaula'. He lets her do what she wants while he thinks, until finally a flicker of irritation crosses his eyes and he speaks:

"Shaula! Stop nuzzling me like if I was a dang tabby cat. My smooth cheeks are getting deformed!"

Shaula immediately stops and leans back against Subaru and her eyes look even more bright now as she happily exclaims while wiggling her hips, making Subaru close his eyes and recite his mantras of keeping a cool and collected head:

"Master does remember Shaula! I am so happy Master, I knew it was you from the minute I smelled your strong scent. Only Master could have such a pungent stench, if it was any other sten…

"STOP SAYING I STINK. It's embarrassing my goodness. Aren't you supposed to be a little more refined and composed for a woman?" Questions Subaru as he sneakily sniffs himself to see if he did indeed stink. I don't stink at all, or at least I hope I don't think after he performs a quick check on his potential lack of hygiene. Shaula had finally gotten off of him, but still had one hand on his hair, gently caressing it.

Feeling way out of his comfort zone around this Big Breasted Weir…. He means Shaula, he gets up slowly from the bed and looks around the room. He notices other beds and greenery surrounding him as faint lights shine and seem to have a life of their own.

His breath stops briefly as he examines this area in wonder and awe. He eventually thinks to himself, What a lovely area, and of such beauty too! … Hopefully I don't find myself in too much danger here; It looks pretty safe, after all, aside from this Boa Constrictor of a woman..

He turns to Shaula who had already attached herself to his arm, looking like she had finally found a place to call her own, holding onto him fiercely, determined to not let him get away from her again. Subaru's brows furrow and a small frown appears on his face. He thinks to himself he cannot find any malice or hostility in the woman, only a sense of relief and happiness that she had found him, even if she mistook him for her master. With all this commotion finally settling down he, at last, remembered a few things Tella-Tan has said.

"Huh? How weird, I remember her name now but didn't last time I…!" He stops himself from thinking too deep, lest he spiral within the cycle of never ending despair and loss that forever torments him in the very back of his mind.

He takes several deep breaths as he analyzes what happened to him while forcibly keeping the gruesome details out of his mind, his stomach churning each time he fails to suppress another horrid memory before it crosses his mind.

"Firstly, It is an undeniable fact that I have traversed into a new world. However, I do not know where we are, or even the name of this place for that matter, I will need to ask Shaula later. Secondly, even if I did possess magic, I have no idea of how this world's system of magic may function. Perhaps it is similar to some games, where you need to have mana crystals ready to use for each spell. I might need to read spell books to unlock ways to cast sorcery. Maybe I have a rare affinity that is only possible to use under certain conditions?

Subaru sighs. "My mind's too jumbled to focus on any one thing," he muses to himself as he pieces together an unfinished puzzle. Shaula glances up at his softened words, but says nothing, contently holding onto him. Bah, there's too much going on in this train of thought, I'll get back to it eventually. "Finally, I know for a fact that I…"

Subaru stops himself from finalizing that last word. He had died. His train of thought veered off course as those instances of anguish he suffered through played within his mind once more, shocking him more than anything he could have claimed to have experienced that rivaled those moments.

Remembering the kind and loving words Satella had told him, accompanied as well by Shaula, Who Satella specifically told me to make contact with, he recalled. He calmed down and remembered that, despite being in a strange world, he still had two allies which is better than showing up alone with nothing and with no one to help him.

Okay Subaru let's think this over calmly I died, but I am clearly alive and well, with a big-breasted weirdo currently making my left arm lose its circulation. So I died, and yet I am here; that means I must have gone back in time, to before I ever opened that dreadful door to the outside. See this is what I mean when I say staying indoors is the best for one's safety! Concludes the hopeless hikikomori as he wrongly confirms his firm help belief.

I suppose that means this ability may happen more than once, not that I am planning on testing that theory! This first time was a definite confirmation to not treat this as a green mushroom from a certain game. I guess I will call it Return By Death for now. There isn't enough information to go on for further study, and I'm not willing to explore this ability any further.

He sighs and turns his head to see Shaula's own leaning against his shoulder.

"Shaula I had some questions I want to ask you, if that's okay with you?" Inquires Subaru as he watches the young woman perks up as she is being addressed, her lazy eyes slowly meeting his as she speaks up:

"Master can ask me for anything he wants! If Master wants my body, Master only has to say it! But my young maiden heart is mine alone!" Shaula declares proudly with a smile as she bounces around.

"BAKA!" yells Subaru as he smacks her head a little, making Shaula tear up and hold her head as she wails:

"Master is still so mean, poor Shaula does not deserve this I believe." The fake cries of this false maiden don't fool Subaru, as he can clearly tell she wants to make him feel bad. With a sigh he pats her head and she immediately melts under his hand, demanding more head pats by nuzzling her forehead against his palm, smiling brightly from the attention Subaru is now giving her.

It is fairly clear now, as the boy pats Shaula's head, that any serious questions he may ask will definitely fall on deaf ears. She seems to be the kind of simple minded girl that is satisfied easily, with head pats and smiles, going on her day cheerfully and without a care. The theory that fools live a content life can clearly be seen with her.

Subaru thinks of just asking for the books that his lovely Satella told him to inquire about. He will deal with how Shaula perceives him as her (very lucky) master another time. At the moment, his lust for knowledge overwhelms his system and he says:

"Shaula do you know where my books are?" He decides to play the charade a while longer, and hope that these books aren't lost or damaged.

Shaula perks up at being giving a simple order that is relatively easy to understand for her and happily states:

" I do, when Master, who is always clumsy, hits his head on the toilet or falls down the stairs, or gets smashed into the wall by Mabeasts he didn't secure properly, he always comes to Shaula and asks to see his books! Follow me Master, let's go!" She loosens the grip on his arm and instead takes his hand, hurriedly and excitedly tugging Subaru towards the outside of this peaceful room.

How clumsy and absolutely incompetent must this man be to fall down these stairs, or fail to lock down demonic beasts Subaru contemplates, his eyes widening as he wonders of the horrors this master of Shaula experiences. With a slight headache he was starting to comprehend how this apprentice in front of him came to be.

They entered another room and opened it, finding inside all kinds of weird objects, as well as books written in a language he did not recognize at all. With a sinking feeling of despair, he started hoping that the books he oh, so needed desperately where written in his language or at least one he could kind of understand.

Shaula led him to a corner where he witnessed something he had never expected to find in this world: a futon. Shaking the shock of seeing such an out-of-place object, he sees, behind the futon, a simple desk with a wobbly chair. Looking at the desk, he saw old and worn sheets of paper loosely organized into a rather poor imitation of a book, which was little more than a glorified stack of papers, lacking a spine or even a cover of any sort. When he glanced at the first page, his face froze in shock as he saw words that made his heart stop.

For The Eyes Of Natsuki Subaru Only
Written By: The Peaceful Vagrant, Otaku Connoisseur,

And bestowed the title of Sage upon this world,

Flugel.

Subaru was confused at why words he could understand, due to them being in Kanji, would have his name on them. Just who was this sage named Flugel? The bastard called himself an Otaku fan for Christ sakes! Does that mean he also likes Black Lagoon? I mean he better, who doesn't like Remy or Dutch? What about the legendary Full Metal Alchemist Brotherhood? Did he also share moments of watching Elric And Al fight against the world, and uncover the hidden conspiracies in their nation?

Wait focus do not lost yourself here Natsuki! While a tremendous joy to meet a fellow weeb in a faraway land is amazing, this does seem very suspicious. Especially one that would claim the title of Otaku Connoisseur! What sheer madness thought Subaru, as he became rather jealous of such a wonderful title, barely glancing at the other two this weeb named Flugel had.

While calming his inner Otaku spirit that seemed to want to burst and flip through the book for any references of amazing shows that they may have both saw in Japan he finally recovered and started thinking in a smart way.

This guy says he is an Otaku, yet that word did not gain mainstream attention until the 21st century after legendary shows like DBZ , Neon Genesis Evangelion, Ghost in the shell, or even the Big Three became famous. So does that mean he is born from my original worlds timeline? Ugh, this is so bizarre yet I will not lie my interest is peaked! Alright Otaku Connoisseur, let us see what you have in store for a fellow NEET!

Subaru glanced at Shaula whom was laying down in the futon, completely at peace with her eyes filled with bliss. He was hesitant and slightly embarrassed, but he needed to ask these questions. He inquired:

"Shaula I wanted to ask, besides Master did you know me with any other titles or names?"

Shaula who was stretching in increasingly lewd positions took a moment to think, and Subaru was already thinking that the question may have been beyond her understanding when he suddenly saw her eyes brighten up.

She jumped up from her former resting position and smacked her right hand on her left palm as in understanding, and began saying:

"Yes Master! You Always told me to call you Sen… Senp…. Ugh I have never been able to pronounce it correctly!" Utters Shaula with a deep frown on her face and a hand tugging at her luscious brown hair, as if yanking it would give her brain a much needed reset.

The otaku immediately understood the word this bumbling girl was trying to come up with as he gritted his teeth in anger and embarrassment.

What type of Master would make their apprentice call them Senpai!? This is not second year in high school dammit! This master of hers must have been more depraved than I thought. Why not Sensei? Ugh this guy is becoming more and more detestable to my eyes.

"Shaula, do you maybe mean Senpai?" Grunts Subaru as he is already feeling himself queasy at having to depend on the information stored in these pages.

Shaula's eyes lit up like the star she is named after and jumped up and down as if her memory was finally shaken to the point she could remember.

"YES SENPAI! That is what you always wanted me to call you. Shaula from this day forth will always call you senpa…"

"NOOOO! Over my dead body! I refuse to be have that title that always leads to misunderstandings and harems. Not now, and not ever!" Yells Subaru with a frantic expression, as he knows from various visual novels and anime what happens to the cute kouhais. (Female underclassmen that are younger than their male senior whom they call Senpai.)

"Shaula any other names besides that, please pay attention and think hard, and I am so sorry asking you for that." Declares Subaru with guilt and a defeated expression, as his thoughts of her depraved master bring his exhaustion.

She spins around in a circle while being happy to remember a word and pronouncing it correctly to her master after hundreds of years. Eventually she gets dizzy and falls on the floor, making sure to grab Subaru's left arm sleeve and bringing him tumbling down with her.

Subaru tries to get up fast, yet Shaula is faster and uses both of her arms to press his tomato face unto her breasts, all the while pondering what her master asked her until the dim lightbulb resembling her brain lights up!

"Some mean people called you the Peaceful Vagrant!? I do not know what that means. But Hmph! They only said it when we had to sleep in dark allies with trash, how rude of them. Shaula may not understand those words, but I can sure recognize laughing faces. I always made sure to give Senp… Master the best of the leftovers! Even going some days without eating so that Master could eat and replenish his fragile body!"

"How destitute were this pair!" Cries Subaru in his thoughts, bewildered by the sad stories that almost made him share a tear. Leftovers obviously meant leftover rotten food from the garbage. How the hell did these two even survive? Let alone reside in this tower of such significant construct. Subaru was feeling a very familiar emotion he had long since associated with himself, but for the first time instead of feeling it directed to him, it was to this poor girl in front of him that could still smile brightly after laughing.

He comes from a civilized nation, and he vowed to himself that neither him nor his new companion, would ever resort to eating trash! No matter how hard the circumstances were.

"Shaula, we are never eating leftovers from disposal cans again ok? Trust in your master, I will find us delicious and nutrient rich food." Subaru vowed with all his heart and soul. This was just too saddening, even in the American drama movies he watched, he had not seen such a poor sight since WW2 or the third world countries torn apart by greed and tyranny.

Shaula turned excited like a puppy being showered in love and crushed our poor Subaru in her embrace while joyously shouting:

"YAY! I hated the MA beast meat around the tower, it is so gross but is the only source of nutrients around here. Shaula does not know what good deeds she has done in her past life for Master to bless her so, but I will never leave your side after hearing such delicious news!"

She somehow managed to bring the poor boys head even more into her bosom, while Subaru was about to die from bliss and maybe test his RBD theory she stopped and realized that he wanted to ask her one more question. She let his go yet still had him wrapped in an impossible to get out of embrace while Subaru recovered and questioned:

"Any other names? Or is that all of them?" Cried Subaru in despair at how this simple woman in front of him could still stay around this desolate tower for what seems like a very long time, and still act full of happiness and energy.

"Hmmm Shaula does remember one, but Master only called himself that title, no one ever recognized it, despite other people calling you a Sage or whatever." Finished saying the airhead as she closed her eyes to remember, while still making sure Subaru would not escape her grasp.

The boy heard her say the arguably most important title this weeb Flugel had, Sage. But Sage of what? Being broke and poor and eating trash that dogs would not eat? How is such a degenerate classified as Sage? Unless the rest of the pinnacle of power were as eccentric?

(If only you knew buddy).

Shaula then got up and let Subaru free from her hug as she started giggling and laughing around. She stopped suddenly and scanned the small room until she located a small dresser tucked into a forgotten corner. With glee she quickened her steps and opened up the drawer a little to roughly, as several books fell out of them. Yet there were not only books, but dvd and bluerays with anime covers that our boy let out a sigh of wonder and jealousy. Not even he had the third season of Attack on Titan on blue ray. "Who the hell is this damn sage"? Thought Subaru with an aggrieved expression. And what is this? Code Geass? The complete collection in Blu-Ray?

Subaru's breath hitched, and he hurried to Shaula's side, as she wore a smug expression and did a very embarrassing pose with her left hand on her hip, legs separated yet firm, and pointed her right arm up in the room pointing to the sky possibly. With a smirk she recited:

"The land of the rising sun may have many people and islands, but only one is the true pro gamer and voyeur of fine entertainment , It is I! Flugel the legendary Otaku Connoisseur!"

Finishes quoting Shaula with a nose almost as large as Ussop's. And if her expression had been even smugger the boy may have had to punch her in the face, just to keep his nations honor.

Subaru's brain shuts down, and he almost wishes to start over and never ask these questions. He already confirmed the answers he was curious about. But the knowledge he received today will shame him until the day he finally draws his last breath.

With a catatonic state of mind he sits down in the chair with hardly any spirit left. And asks of Shaula:

"Hey Shaula, can you bring me some water I am thirsty, thank you kindly."

Shaula's eyes light up in excitement and jumps excitedly as she rushes out the door to fulfill an order from her beloved Senpai.

With a fragile state of mind Subaru brings the 'books' if they were to even be called that closer to him and goes to the first page. As his mind snaps back to action he starts reading what this Weeb wrote for him.

Subaru, It is with equal amounts of joy and grief that I welcome you to this new world. While I would love nothing more than to debate and argue over works of art like Akira, or the infamous Black Lagoon which still holds a very important place in my passionate heart, we must discuss serious matters. Namely, you coming to this world. I am sure you have already met that silver hair half-elf?

Subaru's eyes widen in bewilderment at the last sentence he read, as he recalls all he remembers from his darling Satella. Yet most of the conversation they shared still stays as a hazy memory, despite his frustration to unlock it. With bated breath he continues reading.

I am truly sorry that you had to be summoned to this world. This is not Japan nor modern Earth. It is a place that may seem like a fantasy world, yet is a worse trap than even Kirito in Sword Art Online, and I will personally say that show gets too much hype. I wished you could be Isekai'd to a by the book Isekai world, where you would awaken your latent potential, become the hero the world needs, and slay the demon king or dragon or whatever those lazy authors make to get money. However this world is not peaceful, the modern policies and politics you are familiar with are non-existent. Blatant discrimination exists . This world has a medieval setting, and their engineering or science is in rather poor state. Ahh, please forgive myself for I forgot to introduce you to where you are currently.

Subaru's eyes hungrily devour this new information, and is very thankful yet still feeling ambivalent to this fake sage. He continues reading.

You are in the Pleiades Watchtower, located in the middle of a damned land called the Argia Sand Dunes. Where there are demonic beasts called Mabeasts, as well as a poisonous miasma that erodes the vitality and mana of even the strongest spirit, with the exception of the Mabeasts and a certain red haired fellow. Anyway knowing your curious mind I am sure you went to explore outside, how was it?

The boy's eyes shed tears at the wicked memory that despite his best efforts, keeps on trying to make his mind despair. Even though he is aware he is reading words left on paper long ago he still feels an urge to respond:

"Flugel-San, it was horrible. The way I died is something that I will never forget. The tears I shed trying to reach this tower, and those damned bears that ripped me to pieces…" Subaru stops talking as the images of his gruesome death haunt his mind again. With tears in his eyes he mutters to the book and to himself:

"I hated it, I hated feeling so powerless. So weak, a mere food to beasts with no intellect.

I HATED IT! I DESPISE THOSE FUCKING BEARS. IF I HAVE THE CHANCE I WILL OBLITERATE THEM. DAMN THEM FOR MAKING ME DIE LIKE THAT!"

Subaru finishes displaying his innermost thoughts as his hands hold his head on the table, with pained eyes he remembers how powerless he was. He never wants to feel like that again. After some time Shaula comes in the room with two cups.

"Master here is some water. Shaula made sure it was fresh! Shaula hopes Master will praise her, hehe." She winks at Subaru after giving him the cup with water.

Subaru drinks it in one gulp, and is relieved to find out it is actually clean water, and not sludge from some sinister place. When he is done he turns around to face Shaula with remnant tears in his eyes and beckons her closer.

She tilts her head with a quizzical look in her eyes, but notices that master needs her comfort. So she rapidly approaches Subaru until she embraces him and carries them to the futon. Subaru's head ends up resting on Shaula's lap, and he gazes at the ceiling solemnly. Until his gaze sharpens and he recognizes that this bastard of a sage has a poster cover with The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya. With Haruhi smiling with a smug expression looking down at him, as if mocking him.

This guy has me beat, he probably came from my country, and my timeline, yet still managed to save his collection. Damn I Natsuki, admit I have been defeated by the Otaku Connoisseur. Thinks Subaru while enjoying where he is resting at. His eyes slowly drop as Shaula softly sings and he slowly falls asleep in contentment.

Several hours later Subaru eyes open sluggishly and he notices that Shaula is next to him, yet instead of smothering him she is merely holding his hand and in deep sleep. For some queer reason Subaru smiles at the resting girl and covers her with a brown cloak he found lying around. As he remembers the events before his slumber, he sighs and with determination in his eyes thinks.

I need to finish this book by Flugel, I was too overwhelmed by all the familiar references and how it seemed like he knew me intimately. What a disturbing sensation.

Subaru once again sits down and resumes reading from the last page he left off at.

I hope you enjoyed your much needed rest Subaru. The boy's eyes widen as he feels like this book is actually having a conversation with him, or at the very least knowing his actions. While feeling suspicious he continues to read:

Oh dear, please do not think of me as an enemy or else you would have manifested outside the tower with those cuddly Courtesan bears, instead of inside. Now that I have your attention once more and you are properly rested, let me impart crucial knowledge you will need.

In all honesty when compared to where you lived at to where you are now. YOU ARE WEAK.

A prey to all the various creatures that would like nothing more to tear you to pieces. Useless compared to the magic users that abound this world, worthless as a servant. And physicians here all have healing magic, so your amateur knowledge of anatomy and surgeries is worse than a laborer. And don't get me started that because you watched anime you know a magical world. I am sincerely sorry, I pity you, Subaru for coming to this world. A normal human walking among individuals that can freeze a forest, set fire to cities, or swordsmen that can cut mountains in half. You are at the very bottom of the totem pole, and sinking deeper at each moment.

Subaru felt his self-loathing rise once more, completely obliterating any thought. Who was he to think he could be summoned somewhere and be as badass as Kirito, bland protagonist he may be. He has always been a shut in, un ambitious, truly with no motivation. How very slothful.

As the boy's negative opinion of his mind threatened to overwhelm him he suddenly felt a force that compelled his hand to turn to the next page. In confusion Subaru glanced down.

Sorry about that. You cannot blame me though. You never had a teacher point out all your faults, before talking about all your strengths surpassing those flaws? And no not like shows you and I may have enjoyed. I am sure you have realized a couple of things? I will give you two hints. One you are still here, conversing with this rather handsome book, and two Shaula hasn't eviscerated your guts yet. Think boy, because my thoughts are pay per view.

Subaru brings his mind out of despair as he furiously thinks about Flugel's point of view. Remembering his first death he thinks about how those damn bears surrounded the tower but never tried to invade it. Was it due to Shaula? He glances at the drooling young woman in question. Then he remembers her crushing embrace. What if that was a portion of her prowess? How scary could she become?

Subaru thanks his lucky stars he never really pissed her off. Then he thinks about why indeed, is this sarcastic and bullish book giving him, someone with apparently no self-worth, such sound and important advice.

He briefly recalls Satella's message about finding Shaula and reading some books." So she knew then?! She has always shown to have my best interests at heart." Sighs Subaru with a content and relieved smile on his face.

He once again looks at the book in preparation to whatever secrets it may dictate.

It is finally nice to see a spark in those fearsome eyes, Natsuki Subaru. You may have been summoned here under vary unfair conditions, yet I can reassure you that the one thing you cannot do is doubt your determination! Do not take this world for granted, there will be no magical guide offering you awesome buffs, no wise old sage granting you quests. However you already have two things that trump all others. You have two of the strongest individuals of this world at your side, and no I will not explain at the moment. And your bravado. Be confident in yourself boy! You have what it takes to challenge and surpass the trials this world will impose on yourself.

"And you lucky son of a bit…" Suddenly the book closes upon itself as it seems to be battered by invisible hands. Subaru is very confused upon seeing this until the book finally stops being thrown around like a ragdoll and opens back to the same page he was reading.

Forget what you saw now, that was quite embarrassing. Then is almost seemed like the book coughed? And continued dictating:

Anyway Subaru, there are two other volumes such as I. And to gain the second one you will need to challenge the first trial of this tower. And before you go pissing your pants at the idea of fighting a monster, It will not be like that. Actually you are the only one present in this whole world that can beat the first trial, besides my dashing self of course. However that is besides the matter. There are further journals of mine after you beat the first trial. Take Shaula with you, she will be able to aid you once you figure out the secret of the trial. However do not treat her as a guide from that stupid Tower of God comic you read, I also cannot await for that author to continue uploading."

Here the book closes up once again and shakes around. If Subaru was not witnessing this he would never believe it, it is almost like the book is pouting. As he was once again, about to ask something from the book, it suddenly opened up again, and with his gaze focused on the words Subaru read.

Forgive that unsightly behavior from my proud self. It was pent up months of frustration. I am truly glad you are reading me Natsuki, since you can understand my pain. Anyway, After beating the first trial ask Shaula to show you her Master's ecchi collection. Wait! Do not look at my glorious self with those disgusted eyes. It is code alright. It is the second volume that will give you instructions on how to use magic!

Subaru's disgusted face quickly morphed into one of joy upon hearing those words. Oh he could forgive this perverted book for a while, until he learned what he needed and then a nice bonfire would be present in this tower soon. Subaru smirked sinisterly which the book detected with alarm.

"I SEE YOUR EYES SUBARU! CEASE THOSE WICKED THOUGHTS THIS INSTANCE!" Exclaims the book with panic as its pages flutter in despair.

Subaru takes a deep breath and expels the righteous thoughts from his head as he gazes back down to the page he was left at.

You would make a grave mistake making kindling out of me young man. Hmph! Our time together draws short, remember this pass the first trial but NEVER CHALLENGE THE SECOND! Unless you welcome death. Then go ahead. The arrogant book exclaims. Almost seeming like it was smirking.

Subaru got up with a sigh and closed the damn book, as well as tossing it across the room where it landed on a Saber pillow. Which made Subaru curse again at this damn weeb. This disgusting person really does deserve the title of Otaku Connoisseur.

"Shaula let's go to the upper floor, I wish to challenge the first trial." Declares Subaru with a determined expression and his heart beating in anticipation.

Shaula gets up quick from her rest and grabs her Senp… Masters hand and urges him out of the room

After some time and walking up different stairs that in Subaru's mind where blessedly not as long as the one staircase he had to climb with herculean efforts on his first run. They arrive to wide double doors. Imposing as they are intimidating.

Subaru's eyes widen at the structure, yet he grits his teeth when remembering that perverted and weeb book taunting him with magic he may finally be able to use.

He glances at Shaula and asks her:

"You ready Shaula?"

And from the excited and happy expression she displays on her face Subaru chuckles. This girl really wears her heart and emotions on a sleeve, not unlike a favored silver hair girl that he misses dearly.

" I Natsuki Subaru, will debut my awesomeness right here, right now! Let's go Shaula!" Excitedly and filled with purpose Subaru and Shaula go and cross the doors leading to the first trial.

I uploaded this chapter which I was going to do next week due to the interest you all had in the story. Thank you very much and all of you can direct message me whenever needed.

So thank you for the continues interest in my first fan fic ever. I really appreciate it and will strive to keep this a weekly upload, but more if possible.

Now just to let all of you know, again timeline events are going to be very different from original story from Tappei.

Main love interests will be Satella and Shaula. Enough said.

I am currently writing chapter 3 so I hope to have it out by or before Tuesday.

The chapters i upload may or may not be 100% fully edited, I met an amazing editor in Reactionist's Discord chat, named Herrshyyk. He did over 350 corrections on my prologue, and he only edits what interests him. So I will go back and update and review my previous chapters when I have spare time. Again I could not have made this chapter without the help and aid of Saito, Two face, and Crypticz.

Looking forward to uploading third chapter soon thank you all.
