The Protectors of Meridiana

A Cybersix Fanfic

Chapter 1: A New Friend

It was night in Meridiana. A young man was walking home in the dark after a hard day's work. "Boy, I'll be glad to get home," he said to himself. "I'm exhausted. But I'm happy to earn some money through honest labor." He held some well-earned money in his hand before putting it in his pocket.

Unknown to him, that in a dark alley, three pairs of blood-red eyes were watching him, preparing to attack him. When the young man approached the alley, a voice cried out, "NOW!" And three giant human-like creatures came out of the darkness and ran toward the young man. He screamed and fled for his life.

"After him!" the voice shouted. "Don't let him get away!" The creatures started to chase their victim.

While he ran, the man tried calling for help. "Help! Help! Save me!" Then he arrived at a dead end. "Oh, no! I'm trapped!" he cried, and turned around to see the giant green-skinned humans closing in on him as he backed up against the wall. "Leave me alone! Get away from me!"

But the creatures ignored him and attacked him and ran off with his money a few minutes later after beating him up for it. The young man laid on the floor and closed his eyes, after having been beaten up by the creatures. "Help," he gasped weakly.

Five minutes later, the young man was woken up by someone. He opened his eyes to see a young lithe woman of exceptional beauty with short black hair, dark eyes, tanned skin and wearing red lipstick. She was wearing a black skin tight leather suit with high heels, a fedora-like hat, a cape with a red interior and high collar along with fingerless gloves. Beside her was a black panther.

"Who are you?" asked the young man. "Please don't hurt me."

"It's alright. I'm a friend who wants to help you," said the woman. "Now I need to get you out of here safe and sound, before we introduce ourselves."

The young boy was sad. "I could move," he said, "but I'm badly hurt after being attacked by those horrible green-skinned giant human-like monsters." He tried to get up, but fell back, wincing in pain. "Ow!"

The mysterious woman knew the boy needed to get home quickly to feel better. "Let's get you home, so you could get proper medical attention," she said to him, and helped him onto the panther's back.

"Thank you," said the young man, wincing in pain a little bit.

"No problem," the woman replied.

The young man told the woman the address to the apartment, and they set off.

Soon they reached the young man's apartment as the panther put him down.

"Gently," said the boy, as the woman laid him on his bed. "Thank you. Are my injuries very serious?"

"You have a lot of bruises," said the woman. "Here's an ice pack."

"Thank you," said the boy, but became worried. "I hope my bones are not broken, and that is not good."

"Luckily, none of your bones were broken," said the woman.

The young man breathed a sigh of relief. "Good," he said. "Now, allow me to introduce myself. My name's Andrew Crumb. And you are?"

"I'm Cybersix," answered the woman, "and this is Data-7."

Andrew stroked Data-7's fur, making him purr. "Nice to meet you," he smiled, but then he sighed sadly as Data-7 licked and headbutted him to comfort him. "I don't think this city is safe for me," he said sadly, "not with those giant green-skinned creeps running around loose attacking everybody."

"That's understandable," said Cybersix, "but don't worry, we will protect you from them."

Andrew smiled at her. "Thank you, Cybersix," he said. "By the way, will you and Data-7 be my friends?"

"Sure," answered Cybersix.

"Great," said Andrew. "You're so kind to me, Cybersix."

"You seem pretty nice, too," said Cybersix. "Sorry about the injuries."

"I know," said Andrew. "I suppose that you would be leaving? And will I ever see you again?"

"I guess that's up for fate to decide," Cybersix answered.

"I understand," said Andrew, "I hope I'll see you again soon."

Cybersix smiled at him. "It was a pleasure meeting you, too," she replied.

"And Cybersix," said Andrew. "I wish I can repay you for your kindness to me. I would have been dead if you hadn't come along. I'm eternally grateful to you and Data-7." A happy tear rolled down his face as he hugged the beautiful cyber gently.

"Anything to help," said Cybersix, hugging Andrew back.

"I'm very happy to have you and Data-7 as my friends. You're so special to me. I really wish I could see you again."

"Hopefully," said Cybersix, "because I would love to see you again."

After hugging Cybersix gently, Andrew laid his head on his pillow as she wrapped him with the warm blankets. "I hope whoever sent those Fixed Ideas to attack me, will pay for this," he said.

Cybersix agreed. "Indeed, they will."

"Boy, am I tired," Andrew yawned. "I'd better get some sleep. Again, thank you, Cybersix and Data-7, for bringing me home safely and for treating me carefully."

"Of course," said Cybersix. "We wouldn't want to leave you injured on the street somewhere."

"I'm happy to hear that," yawned Andrew sleepily. "Good night, Cybersix. Good night, Data-7. See you again soon." He closed his eyes and went to sleep.

"Good night, Andrew," smiled Cybersix as she and Data-7 left through the open window. And Andrew sighed happily as he slept peacefully, looking forward to seeing Cybersix again.
