Title: More Than One Pass
Gus was looking on not sure what to think. He'd brought it up months ago about wanting to go to a comic con convention. His Uncle Michael had said it would be a good idea to do that. He'd thought that he was going to get the passes. He'd been so excited for a month now since he'd been checking to see when one was coming near by. The only thing he didn't expect was going to happen would be that his sister would get the pass instead of him. He loved Jenny more than anything and he'd never said anything before when something like this happened. It happened more than once though too since his Uncle Michael always did more things for his sister than him. She was his daughter, but it hurt because he really thought it had been understood he wanted to go.
He slipped out of the room not wanting anyone to notice that he was upset. It was Jenny's birthday after all. He didn't want to be seen as the selfish brother when it was the last thing he was. He always made sure Jenny was happy and when stormed he let her sleep in his bed. He gave her the bigger cookies and the bigger slice of cake. He played all the games she liked playing because he didn't want her to cry. Even if he had to play dress up or tea parties he did it because she was his sister that he loved. He made sure that she got what she wanted and if she wanted to go to comic con then he wasn't going to let it be seen he had wanted that chance. She just hadn't mentioned wanting to go. She'd been talking about wanting to go horse back riding again.
Gus sat down in his room picking up the comic books he'd been looking at earlier. Jenny did love the female characters in the comics. He used to read them to her when she was a baby. He still did now too they'd even made up their own characters. He put them in the dresser drawer he had the others putting them in their protective covers. He had gotten them over the years even some action figures. He went over to the window looking out of his bedroom window. He wished that his daddy could have made it today even if it was his sister's birthday. His mommy said he was probably doing something else. It was annoying when they thought his daddy showed up when he wanted.
"GUS, look what my daddy got me. Tickets to the comic con thing." Jenny said running into the room. She'd seen him leave and wanted to show it to him. "It's three day passes and it got where you meet the characters too. You get to take pictures with them too."

She wasn't sure what it all meant, but knew that her brother had been looking at going for a month. She hadn't been that all into it, but she wanted to make Gus happy too. He was her big brother and always took care of her. She hadn't even listened to everything her daddy had said. She'd taken off to find Gus so happy that they were going to get to go. She hadn't thought that she'd get the passes when Gus had been expecting them. She already knew who she wanted to dress up as. It was the Super Girl she liked the most and she was hoping maybe Gus would want to go as Superman. It wasn't his favorite, but she really liked when they did things together.
"There's two passes?" Gus asked getting up surprised since he only saw one downstairs.
"Two?" Jenny asked. "Daddy gave me one." She said biting her lower lip like she'd seen her brother do. "He kept talking about we, I thought he meant you an me." She said looking at the pass in her hand.
"It's okay Jenny, you go and have fun. If see if I can't go to my dads, your Uncles that weekend. There are other times I can go." Gus said not wanting to get Jenny upset that he didn't have one.
"But you're my brother, my bestie, we go together. You always take me when Uncle Justin and Uncle Brian go somewhere with you. It only right I take you too." Jenny said trying not to cry.

She had been so happy seeing the pass. She had asked her daddy for it so that Gus and her could go. She said it was all she wanted for her birthday from him, two tickets to the comic con. She didn't want to go without Gus. He was her best friend in the entire world. He had been there since she was born and made sure she was happy. She just wanted to return the favor by being able to go to the convention. It wasn't fair that Gus couldn't go when it was her birthday wish. Go with Gus to the convention next weekend.
Gus hugged her not wanting her to cry even though he knew she was about to. "You're my bestie too, but sometimes adults don't understand. It not your fault that Uncle Michael, your daddy, didn't get me one too. He probably got one for you and him to show you around. I promise that I'll be fine, Jen Jen." He said giving her a smile wiping away the tear that fell. "Go back down they wonder where you at. It is your party." He added brushing their noses together.
"It was supposed to be for you and me. Daddy always leaves you out of things." Jenny said burying her head into her brother's shoulder crying. "I don't want a party anymore." She added between sobs. She hadn't gotten what she wanted so she didn't want anymore gifts.
Gus held onto her rubbing her back hating that she was upset. It always made him sad when she cried. He was only nine and half, he didn't know how to fix this big problem. His daddies always could fix problems and he tried to be like them lots of the time. He always listened when his daddy when he said that Jenny loved him more than his sister had; he needed to treat her special because she was special.
He never thought about anything else in the world at times. He always made her list out to Santa, even if he hadn't believed since he was seven. A friend at school told him the truth. He made sure that Jenny believed though, even in the Easter bunny. He'd get his daddies to somehow fix this because his heart was broken for his sister. He never did understand why his Uncle forgot about him.

Brian and Justin were late, but they showed up to the party. They'd been late because they had needed to pick up Gus' gift. Brian had been shocked when Justin told him that Michael had been going on about the comic con tickets he got Jenny. He'd been sitting in the living room when Gus had asked if Michael would take him to the next one that came to town. Jenny had also asked when she'd been in the comic book store one day Justin told him. Both times it had been Gus who wanted to actually go. Jenny asked for them on her birthday wanting Gus to go with her. She'd thought for once that her daddy would include her brother.
When they had gotten in the house though Melanie, Lindsay, and Michael had been yelling at each other. Melanie and Lindsay both shouting at Michael wanting to know how cruel he could have been. Michael acting as if he had only wanted to take Jenny, his daughter the comic con she'd begged him to go to. Jenny and Gus both clearly crying at the yelling with Gus covering Jenny's ears.
"What is the matter with you three?" Justin asked after Brian took one of the pans doing like Jenny did at times with a spoon to make the loudest noise possible. "We can hear you all outside. You're making your kids cry you're screaming so loud." He said in a normal voice, but there was so much want to slap all three of them behind it.
"Someone that is not you three talk please." Brian said looking at Gus and Jenny. He didn't want to make it worse by yelling too. He really did get tired at times of playing referee when it got like this.
"I thought it was two passes." Jenny said between tears. "It was supposed to be two passes." She added.
"It is two passes, we're going to get to see all the super heroes like you asked. I don't get why you're crying. I got you want you asked for your birthday." Michael said looking at his daughter.

Jenny shook her head so hard that Brian was sure it would come off before she turned putting her face back into Gus' shoulder. He knew what had happened as it always did. He was seriously going to have to have another talk with Michael about siblings. He'd been an only child so it didn't sink in. He was tired of it though because it not only hurt Gus' feelings, but Jenny's too. He nodded at Justin who had been holding onto the gift to take the kids elsewhere to give Gus his pass. He'd made sure it was the same one that Jenny had too. He'd gotten two more so that Justin and he could both go as well. He thought of Michael as a brother for so many years, kept him safe at school, but he was starting to see that things wouldn't change when it came to him forgetting. Once Justin had Jenny with Gus following he turned to Michael.
"Jenny wanted two passes to take Gus with her to the comic con. You told Gus that it would be a good idea to go a month ago when he asked if you'd take him to the next one that came near by." Brian explained holding his hand up when Melanie and Lindsay went to talk. "I fixed it though, it's why we were late coming here. I got Gus, Justin, and me passes for next weekend so we could make sure the kids had a good time." He let out a breath glad that Justin got the kids out of the room. "How hard is it to remember her brother, you're his god father? For a month she asked for them, she asked Justin to make sure that Gus was remembered since you always forget Michael. Always, since Jenny was born you haven't even done something with Gus. Justin or I make sure he has a gift with your name on it at his birthday and Christmas. So help me if any of you three scream like that in front of the kids again you won't like me or Justin." He finished before he left the room going upstairs.
By the time Brian got upstairs Justin had both kids smiling and laughing. It was as if they hadn't been crying at all. Justin smiled seeing Brian before he handed Gus the box with Rage and JT on it. He'd designed it the week before, before he'd gotten the passes. It had been the last four tickets they'd had to do everything that Jenny's had on them. Gus looked at the box before opening it up with big eyes.
"They just like Jenny's?" Gus asked pulling all three out.
"Yeah, the six of us are going next weekend." Brian said sitting down beside Justin glad that his husband had kept up with if Michael got Gus one or not. Michael hadn't thought about if Hunter wanted to go either so he'd gotten the other one for him. He was into comic books as well and didn't want to leave anyone out.
"Oh this is the best thing ever, we get to be together after all." Jenny squealed in excitement before she hugged her brother then her uncles. "I love you so much for remembering Gus." She said before she started dancing around the room in delight.
Gus hugged his daddies thanking them. He'd never say it out loud, but they were better to his sister than her daddy was lots of the time. He knew that the gifts that were supposed to be from his Uncle Michael was really gotten from one of his daddies or mommies. He knew what their hand writing looked like. He never brought it up though because the only thing that mattered was that Jenny was happy. As long as her daddy never forgot her he would be okay. If it ever happened he'd do what his daddies did for him. He'd give her something from him with her daddy name on it. He didn't want her to ever think she was unloved.
