Chapter3: Bullet
。。。。。。。。
If possible, Soyo would choose to live like a normal girl, be free and not be imprisoned. But as long as her brother is still a shogun, leading his beloved country, she wouldn't choose freedom.
If it's the thing that keeps her next to her brother, then… she'd choose to continue living as the princess. Even though the time they spent together is not much, he's the only family. Soyo's childhood memories were none other than his warm hand holding hers to play around. It's the warm hand she never forget.
Soyo clenched and loosened her grip, staring blankly at it. This is because the incident that has just happened before. She brewed tea for her brother as best as she could. But before Shigeshige's lips touched the rim of the teacup, kunai shattered into the glass. The person who threw it was Sarutobi Ayame, shinobi with purple hair. Of course, Shigeshige and Soyo were shocked, but were even more shocked to learn that the tea Soyo brewed was poisonous.
She almost killed her brother...
This is not a small matter. Shogun was almost assassinated, with the princess being used as a scapegoat. Of course, Matsudaira who is loyal to the Tokugawa family was not standing still. He united the Oniwaban and Shisengumi to work together to bring the Shogun out of Edo and flee to the capital of Kyoto.
Now, the girl dressed in a long red kimono sits in the escape vessel. She sat still nervously until she heard a loud noise from outside. She rushed out of the room and found that the ship had been attacked. She ran down the corridor until she met a tall samurai.
"What happened?! Where is Aniue-sama? I...Is Aniue-sama still safe?!"
"…"
The samurai did not answer. He sneered and pulled out his sword with kunai. Soyo's instinct tells her to run immediately. She lifted the heavy kimono and ran with all her life.
Aniue-sama…where is Aniue-sama?!
She ran to the deck and found that everything was a mess. The sound of explosions echoed throughout. Shinobi disguised themselves and attacked. Now there wasn't just one person running after her. Even if she just looked behind with only the corner of her eyes, she knew that there were no less than ten people who had aimed to kill her.
Does killing just one small woman need this much people?
Soyo swerved into a nook on the deck. If she stop running now, she will surely die.
The vermillion-haired man sat on the battleship's cannon barrel with his umbrella. He smiled cheerfully because he had returned to the planet Earth again. There are really interesting things here with delicious food. There were samurai and now there are…
"These shinobi guys are awesome! Just by sending in a few of them on each ship, they've overrun those vessels like crazy! It's like they're public lice! "
"What sorta simile is that?" Abuto said from behind.
"I didn't know there're people besides the samurai that are strong" Kamui said excitedly.
"Don't even think about fighting them, Captain, they're our comrades," Abuto warned, fearing that Kamui's habit of wanting to fight against strong people would be aggravated.
"I know, I know, This time I've got a contest with Shisuke. To see who can take the real shogun head."
"Then there is nothing for us to do here. Well, I'm pretty sure that brat there is the shogun's little sister, isn't she?"
Kamui looked down at the enemy ship that was being attacked again.
In the middle of the battlefield, with the smell of blood everywhere, a young girl dressed in a red kimono ran away from several shinobis. Her clothes and accessories were all bulky. Kamui felt familiar with the girl's face. Even though he hadn't come to Earth for several months, he vaguely remembered that he had known someone called 'Princess'. "A VIP like that that already doesn't have a single guard. It won't be long now until for that main vessel," continued Abuto.
How pity, but that brat is just a tool anyway and come to think of it, she might not even be able to be used, she is just an ornament ,attractive but worthless.
Despite that, the blue eyes immediately widened, neither because of shinobis nor the girl he didn't even remember the name, but because of the samurai who stepped out of the nook. He had eliminated dozens of shinobis chasing the princess in less than a minute.
This person is strong… even from a distance, he can feel it. The Yato blood in his body immediately told him not to let this chance go, the chance to fight samurai with equal skills.
The vermillion-haired man jumped from the barrel to the ship below. Even though it's high, it's not a problem. His feet landed on the heads of shinobis that's supposed to be his comrades. Of course, with the immense gravitational force from his feet, it immediately stop their breath. "Ah sorry, I thought I could fly with my umbrella open, but it doesn't seem like it." Kamui grinned as he greeted his opponent.
"Hey, what kind of monster is this." Okita stared blankly at the man holding the umbrella.
Kamui replied with a smile on his face. "Please don't make a face like that. I'm your comrade" The shinobis who were originally supposed to be allies surrounded Kamui. Well… even though these shinobis seem to have some skills, but to him they are no different from the annoying bugs that will disrupt the exciting battle that will start soon.
Kamui turned around and slashed through dozens of shinobis with his hand, instantly killing them. The corpses lied on the floor in no time.
Soyo recognized this man and couldn't at the same time. His face and smile were the same, but she knew right away that whoever thought of getting in his way would have a bad ending.
Even now, she is not even sure which side Kamui is on, but he knew her before, he probably wouldn't kill her… that's what Soyo thought at first.
Soyo thought of calling out Yato's name, but her body sensed fear faster than her brain, her mouth trembled, her legs weakened, and she stood behind the brown-haired man in fear.
"Alright, cleanup's all done. Now we should be able to fight each other without worrying about anything," Kamui said as his feet stepped on the Shinobi bodies. "You should hurry up and take care of that thing too. If you've got something hindering you, you can't go on an all-out rampage, right?"
After hearing those words, Soyo heard nothing. She doesn't know what Okita and Kamui are talking about after that. She couldn't believe that the person she thought as a friend would say such thing and see her as a hindrance.
"So relax. If you're saying you can only cut down villains, "
The sound of bullet echoed, causing Soyo to hear again. She closed her eyes tight and fell to the ground. Not feeling the pain, she ran her hands over her body and couldn't find any holes. She opened her eyes again. There was a bullet cut into two halves in front of her. The smoke emanating from the tip of the purple umbrella was a strong evidence of whose bullet belongs to.
"I'm one hell of a villain."
Soon after, Okita and Kamui's battle began. The two moved so fast that Soyo could barely keep up. Another explosion caused smoke and it cover Soyo's sight, she called Okita several times. That was the last thing Soyo remembered before she felt something hit behind her neck and passed out.
The ship they used to fight exploded and split in two. It thwarted a battle that had yet to be decided who won or lost. Kamui is now looking for Okita from the fallen wreckage, but can't find anyone.
"We found the wreckage of a shelter boat too, but it seems like no one survived including the princess," Kamui said to Abuto through the screen, "Too bad, really. I'd finally found a rare actually strong guy." But was that policeman really dead? He's not the type that will die easily.
"But where are you taking our ship now, Abuto? you're not secretly doing something fun while I'm away, right?" Kamui smiled brightly at the screen.
"No, no, definitely not." Abuto shook his head in sweat.
"Then send me your location and I will follow you."
"Uh you're injured, right? Maybe you should take it easy for a while."
"I'm fine. Okay, here I come." Finished, Kamui smashed the screen with his fist.
"You can come through there?! Turn it off! Turn the monitor off right now!" Abuto ordered his crew to shut off the signal immediately. Although he knew that Kamui couldn't get in, but that smile was creepy anyway.
"Alright, you guys go after Abuto and send me the location." Kamui turned to his subordinates who were with him. "There is something I have to check on."
When Soyo regained consciousness, she was already in bed. It was a nursing bed in a small square room and there was no one else in the room.
Recalling the previous event, She felt goosebumps. If there wasn't Okita's help, she wouldn't have had a chance to breathe on the bed like this.
She sat up, touched her neck and felt pain. Now she wasn't wearing a heavy kimono but was in a light green pajamas.
Soyo let out a sigh of relief that she was still alive, but after realizing something, she immediately jumped out of bed. "Aniue-sama!" He's in that vessel too, but there's no sign of him.
She thought of running out of the room, but before she could slide the door it was opened.
The dull white cloak and smell of blood, but that wasn't the thing that frightened her. It was the voice of the person in front of her that made her breathing pause for a moment.
"Not here too? Is he really dead?"
Soyo slowly raised her head and met blue eyes. she stepped back. Her body trembled, almost uncontrollably.
Why is he here... No, where is this place? The enemy ship? But that was impossible because there was no reason for enemy to help her at all.
Even the cloak was covering his hair, that voice and smiling face made her instantly recognize him.
"Y...You…"
Why is Kamui-san here?!
Kamui's eyes widened as he noticed who the woman in front of him was. "You with that policeman!" he exclaimed. "If you're still alive like this, does that mean that guy's still alive too?" He turned left and right to find the person whom he had been trying to find for hours.
If asked how he found this place. The answer is very simple... just walked randomly and sneaked into a parked ship and which looked like a nursing ship for injured people. This ship was the 4th ship that he had sneaked in and actually hit the jackpot. Even if it wasn't the person he was looking for, this was enough to confirm that the policeman was still alive.
"Can you tell me where that policeman is?"
Soyo knew that he was Yato but based on the events that had happened before. He's definitely on the enemy side. Didn't get the answer, he asked again, actually, it sounds more like a threat.
"Ah, are you still mad because I shot you back then? Don't worry, it won't happen again if you give me a good answer."
"Kamui-san…" She finally called out the name.
"Oh, you remember my name? But sorry, I can't remember yours." Soyo's jaw dropped and Kamui continued, "Don't be sad, at least I know that you are the princess."
He doesn't remember her name?
"Now, princess, can you tell me where that policeman is?"
"N…No, Okita-san is not here."
Kamui sighed. He doesn't like asking repeatedly either. "Then where is he?"
"I don't know know and even I know, why do I have to tell you."
"This princess doesn't know how to read the situation huh?" Kamui said with a deeper voice as he stepped forward.
"What are you do-" Before she could finish her sentence, Soyo felt a strong force around her neck. Her body was lifted from the ground. She couldn't breathe. Trying to wriggle out of the other's hand, but it didn't work.
"Are you the Shogun's limbs?" Because if so, what he had been told was to cut them off… the limbs that supported shogun. "Even I don't like killing women unnecessarily, but it seems like you won't be able to give birth to a strong child either."
"W...What on earth are you talking about?" Soyo stuttered. Her hand tried to get rid off this Yato's finger.
"Last chance, princess."
The tightness around her neck became tighter. Is he really going to kill her? Just because of this, he's going to kill-
Not getting the answer, the widest smile appeared on Kamui's face. "What a pity, but we really have to say goodbye now."
She's really going to die... This is the most cruel dream. She wanted to wake up and make tea for her like always. Please wake up, Soyo...wake up. Aniue-sama is waiting.
Tears streamed down her face as it reached the hand that was strangling her neck. His hand twitched slightly, but not because of tears, not because of her gaze that looked at him with fear and disappointment.
"What the hell are you doing?" A monotone voice sounded from the doorway. The cold blade of the sword touched Kamui's neck.
...Okita-san?
