Spoilers for all of The Owl House Season 2, but Hunting Palismen and Eclipse Lake specifically.

"Well done, Hunter."

Belos looked on at the now activated portal, the door bathing him in a pure, unfiltered white light. His hands were clasped behind his back, his hair waving in the wind that was seeping through the door. He turned slightly, looking his nephew straight in the eye.

"All is forgiven."

Hunter's eyes were wide, his mouth open. Rascal peered out from under his cloak, but was quickly covered up when Belos turned around.

"T-Thank you," Hunter stuttered.

"Do not thank me," Belos said, his bright blue eyes glistening in the light. "Rejoice! For today is the day in which Unity shall finally arrive. Today is the day in which my goals shall be fulfilled." Belos turned away once more, deactivating the portal to conserve it's energy.

"Uncle, you said that you'd been to the human realm before," Hunter said, his voice quivering. "Is that why you're doing all this? Just to see it one last time?"

Belos paused, and looked at his nephew kindly. "Yes and no, my boy." As he spoke, he began to walk out of the room at a quick pace. "Come!" he commanded, beckoning for Hunter to follow. "I have something to show you."

As they walked, Hunter looked up to his Uncle to ask a question, but was cut off by the sound of a horn blowing in the distance. Belos pulled his staff from his cloak and pushed the large doors that lay in front of them open with a wave of his finger. They walked out to a balcony which hung over the bridge leading across the chasm of spikes. The bridge was packed to the brim with coven members, and anyone else loyal to the throne. The crowd stretched out all as far as the eye could see. Hunter looked out at the army in astonishment, barely aware of the nine coven leaders that were now flanking them. The crowd was loud, shouting and yelling.

But with a flick of Belos' hand, they fell silent.

"The portal is open," he said, having put his mask back on in the moments that Hunter had been distracted. His bright blue eyes, once so kind and wise, now seemed determined and intimidating. "The Day of Unity is at hand! The human realm – in all it's beauty, is ours for the taking. Clear them of their leaders, tear down their infrastructure, for a new one shall be built in its place. They will come to know the power of the Titan when they submit.

"And they will," he said, his voice icy cold. "March to the human realm! Muster the army and strike them down in one fell swoop!"

"FOR UNITY!"

Belos' voice seemed to be amplified by some sort of spell he'd cast, but no matter how deafeningly loud it was, Hunter didn't hear it. His brain was still trying to process everything that had just happened, but before he could, the army began to march into the castle, headed straight for the portal.

"I thought you said you loved the human realm?" he spluttered, desperately.

Belos didn't even bother turning his head.

"The human realm is beautiful, although it's people are anything but. They are war-mongering, violent creatures whose only desire is to cause pain. We can change that. By uniting the realms, we will take down their leaders, and establish a new form of government."

And with that, the famed Belos the Wise walked away, the coven leaders following him, leaving only Hunter standing at the balcony. A lone tear fell down his cheek. He'd went to get the Titan blood because he thought that Belos was looking to make peace with the human realm, but now, he knew that he just wanted to control it.

And because of his mistakes, millions of people were going to die.

What had he done?

This was just a quick little thing I decided to wrote up after he newest episode, as a possibility for the future of the series. It probably won't come true, but hey-ho. I am planning another fic with a scene similar to this in it, but that won't be any time soon.
