Hey! This will be a 6 part series which I am publishing all now, which is based on the amazing song "Don't deserve your love" by the wonderful Plumb. One, two or three lines will make a 100 or so word story from different points in Coberts marriage.

Enjoy and please read and review if you have the time!

You're the first face that I see

Cora Crawley awoke for the first time in her bed with her husband still next to her. After confessing his love the day previous, Cora awoke within Roberts strong embrace. She opened her eyes and her first thing her tired eyes focused on was Roberts face. Seeing that sight made her heart flutter. She placed a soft kiss on Roberts cheek, which woke him slightly up, allowing him to smile at her, and cradle her more in his arms. This is how she always wished to wake up.

And the last thing I think about

Cora had not tried to sleep at all, but with one look at the clock, she knew it was nearing the early hours of the morning. Her candle light was dimming and she did not have the energy to gather a new one, so she placed the Jane Austin book down on her bedside table. She was reading it, before midnight. After the clock struck twelve her thoughts were clouded with images of her husband. Her husband who was at war. She lay down, and after having around an hour of sleep from the previous night, she fell asleep rather quickly from pure exhaustion, but she did know that tonight, like any other, her final thoughts where of her husband.

You're the reason that I'm alive

Robert awoke in a stiff, unfamiliar bed. He could tell it was day and that he was in pain but that was all he could think. Then the memories of the previous night flooded his brain. He spat blood upon everyone at the dinner table. He was glad Dr Clarkson was their, as he would of surely died. To be honest he was shocked he hadn't. He was shocked that his body had fought so hard. He wondered why for the briefest moment. But then the sound of her voice flooded his ears. Cora. Cora was the reason he was alive. And with that knowledge he fell back asleep.

You're what I can't live without

Cora could hardly bare it anymore. Robert arrived home, he finally arrived home. Marmaduke had not, but her Robert had. He was being greeted by the family, shaking hands and hugging each member of his family. He had ducked down to say hello to his happy daughters, ecstatic at the thought of their papa home. He finally reached Cora. They stood looking into each other's eyes, the world around them melting. Cora lunged herself at Robert, who caught her, digging his face into her neck, and Cora finally let out the tears she was holding. "I'm so glad your home, I couldn't live without you".

You're what I can't live without

Robert hit his head on the wall, how could he be so stupid? How could he allow himself to hurt Cora this badly, without her knowledge with her dying in the next room. He was going to make Jane hand in her notice, he had to. Robert entered his wife's room. He sat by her bed, taking in her pale, weak form. Robert felt tears come to his eyes. How could he allow himself to do what he did when the love of his life lay dying here? He couldn't live without Cora, yet he had allowed himself to act like he could. And he hated himself for it.
