Deception
Chapter 1: Guilty
[One week after the Big Picture Show]
It all started because of him.
Eddy leaned against the wall and watched with genuine interest as the idiot of the group, Ed sorted through the fresh batch of made diamonds inside an old box.
"Hurry up, lumpy. Wrap things up before you know who gets here." He stepped forward to get a closer look at the stones.
As Ed obeys his leader's orders by placing the expensive diamonds inside a black duffle bag one at a time, Edd, the smart one, was standing at the right corner, scared for his life. Out of all things they had done, this has to be the worst.
"Can we go now...?" Asked Double D, pulling his beanie down over his ears. "Are you that desperate for revenge-"
"Shut up already!" shouted Eddy as rage nearly consumed him. "Besides, it's just a little payback."
"If we continue with this pointless crime in your way of seeking justice against Jimmy, then the kids will surely hate us again!" said Double D trying his best to reason with his short leader.
Eddy frowned. "Would you relax? I got everything under control. We frame that little snot-nose brat like how he did us. After today, curly-head will go after those annoying Kankers with his parents. And that's where we come in. It'll be the best payback ever."
Double D clamped his jaw, trying not to be furious all over again. "B-But that happened a few seasons ago! Might I add season 3?! Are you not aware that we three on good terms with the kids?!"
He glanced back at Ed. "Of course, I know that Sockhead, but the Kankers aren't."
Eddy then stares into Double D's eyes and back at Ed, scowling. "Hurry up, Lummox!"
"I found a bracelet, guys!"
Right off the bat, Eddy shoved the tallest boy out the way and slid a jeweler's lamp onto his head, and flipped the lens over his eye, switching the light on as he sat on his knee. It was a beautiful centenary diamond wrap around a pearl necklace.
"Let's have a look," He said as he pulled the first of the diamonds from the vessel.
Eddy set one diamond aside and picked up the next. "No wonder Jimmy is all girly. His parents are loaded!"
While they were distracted by the fancy jewelry, Double D took this chance to sneak his way out of the house undetected. Unfortunately for him, Ed snatches him up like a rag doll.
"Oh, goodie! It's like my freezer experiment again!" Ed shouts out loud as he jumps up and down excitedly.
The loveable oaf chuckled to himself as Eddy held the diamond up. "Once we are done, boys, there will be no Kankers to hunt us ever again." He confidently told his friends
"Hunt us? Sure they will never come after us, but the force of police brutality will! Jimmy is a good seed; this is all unnecessary!" said Double D pointing out the flaws to Eddy's vengeance scheme.
"A good seed!? Did you forget what he did to us, Sockhead?" Eddy questions him as the scene switches to a flashback.
FLASHBACK
"Excuse me, semi-opaque one. More for Rolf, yes?"
"You certainly are a little piggy, aren't you?" said Jimmy, pouring a bunch of jujubes into Rolf's tin from a huge bag.
"Rolf is confused as to why you provide him with these jujubes, but who's complaining?" says a cheerful Rolf, now receiving his end of the bargain.
While watching the truth unfold right before their eyes, both Double D and Eddy now realize that those are the same flavored cavity candy that led them to the Kanker sisters and their downfall.
"JUJUBES!"
Soon as the two said that, Jimmy's body begins to shake out of control.
"Where'd you get those from?" Eddy questions the suspect in anger.
"Get what?" Jimmy turns around, revealing a boot with the soles painted red. "I have no idea what you're talking about."
"Look! A paint-spattered boot!"
"I smell rotten something, i..." Ed joins in on the conversation, not having a single idea of what's going on right now.
Jimmy triumphantly tosses the boot away, knowing he has been caught in the act. "Yes! It was me! And I'd do it again!"
"Why, you little rat, wait'll I–"
Before Eddy could talk any further, Double D cut him off just in time. "But, why, Jimmy. Why implicate us?"
"Revenge takes no prisoners, Double D!" Jimmy boldly told him, showing no remorse in his actions whatsoever.
"Revenge? What the heck did we do!" Eddy wondered as rage flowed through him.
"You ruined a perfectly good pair of underpants, you big brute!" Jimmy finally admits to his crimes out in public.
"Oh, the wedgie!" says Double D, howling out those words in pure shame.
Ed soon giggles upon remembering as well. "Oh, yeah, that was funny."
That little juvenile set us up Double D. Outsmarted me, you! That jerk played with our emotions made everyone hate us even more! All because of astupid wedgie! But let's not forget his greatest plan. He was working with the Kanker sisters this entire time Sockhead.
"I have a deal to complete." Jimmy snaps his fingers once, signaling his partners in crime to come on out and take their prize.
Popping up from behind the fence was Lee, the leader of the Kankers. "We aim to please! Anoint the rebels, girls!"
Lee and her two sisters did not waste any time, and in a split second, they grab the section of the fence to which the Eds were stuck and immediately dragged them further away from Jimmy.
"KANKERS!"
Their screams of terror weren't enough for the cul-de-sac kids to hear as the Kanker sisters drag the Eds off to the woods, presumably back to the cabin.
FLASHBACK ENDED
Eddy stiffened and passed the diamond to Double D. "Jimmy won't ever try to mess with us ever again. It's a win over win while keeping our popularity."
Suddenly, Double D's calm attitude changes into an angry one. His memories swirl around his brain on all the times Jimmy had ever done them wrong.
He remembers that day like it was just yesterday. The Kankers tortured them with kisses. And to make things worse, humiliated the Ed boys by dressing them up in animal costumes, making every single kid in the cul-de-sac laugh at them behind the scene that entire week.
Edd took a minute or so to think. The smart Ed-boy eventually gave in and decided it was best to say the answer Eddy wanted to hear from him.
Double D nodded as he lifted the diamond into his light. "V-very well, that could be an interesting episode for us. However, I must warn you, if this so-called 'prank' gets out of hand, I will intervene, Eddy."
Eddy clapped him on the shoulder playfully and said. "Whatever you say, pal. I know the perfect Kanker for this job."
He smirks evilly as he and Ed strode out of the room, heading downstairs while carrying the stolen items. That leaves only Double D. Alone; he stood in Jimmy's father's office, wondering what the heck he has just done and how this idea of a prank will affect the lives of two people.
3 hours later...(Present Time)
"Okay, are you ready?"
She nodded.
"Make it quick." The female officer took a step away, giving them privacy.
At that moment, Marie looked at her mother and hurled herself into her arms, holding on as tight as she could, probably the only hug she'll ever get again. A crime like trespassing and stealing three billion dollar jewels would leave any child scared. Surprisingly, the young blue-haired Kanker wasn't nervous nor afraid. Instead, she was utterly confused about the whole situation someone put her in.
Ms. Kanker looked as if she was going to cry, yet at the same time, she was also angry. Almost like she wanted to knock some sense into her daughter for getting in this much trouble with the law.
"I love you with all my heart, ma!" Marie said into her mother's ear. Ms. Kanker soon squeezed her tightly as she returns the same heartbreaking message.
"I'll try to call you as soon as I can," Marie croaked, stepping an inch away.
"Okay."
"Please tell Lee and May that I love them as well. Even though they're so annoying." The blue-haired female requested.
"I will."
"I love you!"
And then she left, just like that, rubbing her watery eyes with the heel of her hand. Ms. Kanker banged the doors hard and walked quickly to the parking lot in sheer anger. They watched her get into a red truck. Once she left entirely, Marie felt her heart sink deep below her stomach.
The female guard turned to face her. "You ready, kid?" It was clear as day she had no choice but to say yes.
"Yeah."
"Well, come on."
She led her out the door Ms. Kanker had just exited from, turning left and walking along the towering fence. It was rusty and had multiple layers; between each layer was a gate through which they had to be buzzed. The officer opened the gate, and Marie stepped in. Marie took a quick look back, seeing the blue skies one last time before turning away for good.
The final gate buzzed. The young Kanker stepped through again; wires, barbed metal were surrounding them both as a hostage. Sure, Marie wasn't perfect and stayed skipping school with her sisters.
But this was all new and terrifying for her; this was not what she had expected, especially with something she didn't commit. They reached the double doors of the building, and a nearby officer buzzed them in. Moments later, the two walked through a small hallway into a tiled room with harsh fluorescent light that kept going on and off randomly like they were in a slasher horror movie.
It felt dingy, dirty, and empty.
She pointed into a holding cell with benches bolted to the walls and metal screens overall visible sharp edges.
"Wait in there; I'll be back." She walked through a door into another room.
Scared out of her mind, Marie instantly sat on a bench facing away from the door. While waiting, all she could think about is who frame her. The last thing she remembered is taking Eddy's idiot older brother inside his whale trailer and kissing him forcibly with Lee and May.
Which, for her, wasn't a crime. Now one week later, multiple cops show up at her front door with vicious dogs? She stared at the small high window, which she could only see nothing but clouds. Looking up at the sky, Marie never notices until today how lovely the color blue looks so amazing in the shadows.
It seems like she would never see anything beautiful again. Marie Kanker slowly closes her eyes and meditated on what her future would be like without her sisters, mother, or her dreamboat.
As time goes by, she tried not to think about Edd. Things were about to change drastically without him around.
She waited a certain amount of time while trying to be brave before walking straight inside the prison.
"Kanker!"
Marie nervously jumped up and peered cautiously out of the holding cell like a lost puppy searching for its owner.
"Come on."
She led the underage Kanker into the next room. The female escort went inside first and grabbed a green notebook, and started on Marie's paperwork. After twenty-seven minutes of answering hard questions nonstop, the female guard continued to bark questions and fill out forms over the phone. As Marie stood waiting quietly, her eyes wandered yet again toward the window, to the natural light outdoors, seeing the birds past by
"Come on."
Marie quickly shakes her thoughts away and followed the guard toward the hallway outside the holding cell.
She traces her fingers through a shelf filled with clothing, then handed Marie a pair of old school granny panties, a cheap black bra, a couple of dark blue baggy pants, an oversize blue top, and a white pair of socks.
"Hey kid, What size shoe are you?"
"I-I don't know, a size 4?" Marie answered.
The female guard searches desperately to find her size. Since Marie, out of all the prisoners, was the only underage girl, it was hard to find her size. Eventually, she found one and handed Marie a little pair of blue canvas slippers.
She indicated a sink area behind a see-through plastic shower curtain. "Strip."
It was at that time Marie refused to go any further with the guard. She never in her life undressed in front of her mother or sisters, and she sure as hell isn't going to get naked for a stranger.
Marie growls while shaking her head. "No way, lady! I'm not about to get naked in front of you."
"That's perfectly fine. I like doing things the hard way. It gets the job done much faster." The guard smirks as she cracks her knuckles and neck.
Marie looked away, blushing all over her freckled cheekbones but eventually kicked off her sneakers, jeans, tank top, and underpants, all of which the guard took from her, automatically leaving the middle Kanker shivering in the cold.
"Hold your arms up."
Lifting both arms at the same time, Marie displays her naked armpits.
"Open your mouth and stick out your tongue. Turn around, squat, spread your cheeks, and cough."
To this day, Marie would never get used to the cough part of this drill. Even being in juvenile detention wasn't this brutal and straightforward. The young girl turned back around, completely naked.
"Get dressed."
She put her clothes in a brown box—they would be mailed back to Ms. Kanker sooner or later. In minutes the rebel female that everyone heard at the cul-de-sac was now transformed into an inmate.
Somehow, the guard seemed to soften a bit. As she was fingerprinting her, she asked, "What did you even do, kid?"
"Nothing, absolutely nothing," Marie replied in a low tone. "I'm doing time for something I didn't even do."
"Have you seen your record, Kanker?"
Suddenly Marie's temper flared as she tried to defend herself, "My records don't state that I EVER broke inside someone's stupid fancy house."
She seemed surprised by this, which Marie proudly took as a victory.
The female officer sighs, "Hey, I wanna believe ya, but the jewelry inside your drawing box said otherwise."
And right she was. Marie had no clue how or who placed a million-dollar jewel inside a box full of her art. The young rebel had no real enemies except for the annoying cul-de-sac children as she would never count her love muffin or his friends for doing this type of stuff. The female guard was indifferent to the devastating harsh blow she had just received, not to mention by a twelve-year-old child.
A few minutes later, Marie steps next to the ID machine camera. Finally, the camera took a photo that made her remarkably like an actual serial killer. Her chin was raised defiantly, and she looked like hell. She later figured out that everyone seems either thuggish and murderous or terrified and miserable in their prison ID photo throughout the walls.
The ID card was red, with a bar code. Underneath it says, "Canada Department of Justice—INMATE." In addition to the unflattering photo, it also bore Marie's new registration number in large numerals: 65422–334. The last three numbers indicated her sentencing district.
Once fully finished with the ID debacle, the female guard said, "Oh yeah, I forgot to mention, Mr. Baker's gonna talk to you one on one before you go inside." She pointed into another small room.
Mr. What? Marie thought to herself. Either way, she went and stared out the window, observing the multiple security guards and dogs staring her down. Whoever he was, the guy has high top men and women to keep him safe.
Upon reaching him, Mr. Baker was a compact, older man with a fringe of grey-white hair around his balding, mottled scalp. He had a wizened face and a back slightly hunched. With each movement, there was the creak of old bones. He has watery, crystal blue eyes and, unlike any prison staff she had met so far, a discernible intelligence that not even Double D himself can compare. He was leaning back in a chair, with paperwork spread out in front of him.
It was the rest of Marie's paper. It's documents of basic facts of one's crime, prior offenses, family situation, children, history of substance abuse, work history, and everything necessary.
"Kanker? Please, sit down," He gestured, looking at her in a calculating demeanor.
Marie listened and sat down. The room remains in sheer silence for the time being. She kept her chin firm and didn't dare look in his direction, avoiding any kind of awkward eye contact.
"How are you doing?" he asked.
It was startling to have anyone show the slightest interest in how she was doing. In a way, it was sweet for someone so powerful to ask her that. Not even her mother would ask except on rare occasions. She felt a flood of gratitude and pride despite herself.
"I'm okay."
"You are?"
She nodded, deciding this was an excellent time to act tough. "Enough with the pointless small talk. Is there any way you can let me go? I didn't steal anything."
He looked out the window. "Sadly, I can't do that, Kanker. I'm going to have them take you up to Camp until I get the rest of your paper works," he began.
Marie relaxed a bit and felt her stomach calm down. She followed his gaze out the window, watching the inmates outside.
"I'll be your counselor at the Camp. You know I've been reading your file." He gestured her papers on the desk. "For a girl who is so young, you stack a big case."
"But since you're young and whatnot, It's ways to get you out early," he continued. "However, you must agree that you will stay on my terms. Do we have a solid deal, Miss Kanker?" He looked back at Marie.
"Whatever, I guess so," She muttered.
"Good. There's nothing that goes on up there that I don't know about." Mr. Baker calmly stated.
It was no surprise by how relieved Marie felt: She didn't want to see this man or any prison staffer as her hidden protector against the prisoners who may want to hurt her or worst. But at the moment of agreeing to his shady ordeal, Marie knew well enough this guy was the closest thing to a genuine human she had encountered to trust so far.
"We've got all types up there. What you have to watch are the other inmates. Some of them are all right. They talk nonsense; they gossip; they spread rumors. So they may talk about you. Some will think you are a joke and should be taught a lesson by coming here just because of your age. Who knows what they'll do."
Marie felt truly uncomfortable about learning her faith inside the walls of being in jail. No matter what, as a Kanker, she had to be brave and fearless.
"And there are females who like the same gender up there. They're not going to bother you. However, some will try and be your friend; others will try to control you and get under your skin. Just stay away from them! They will teach you more bad things, and I'm old-fashioned. I don't approve of any of that mess."
Marie tried her very hardest not to smirk. "Mr. Baker? Can I ask you something?"
"Yes?"
"Just wondering, when can my sisters and my Ma can come to visit me?" asked Marie as she could not control the querulous tone in her voice.
Mr. Baker shrugs his shoulders. "That all depends. Are you living with them?"
She answers him back with a simple nod. "They're all in there, even my father too."
"Anyone who's in your files is cleared to visit. They can come this weekend..." He stood up. "Also, don't forget about our deal. It'll save you in the long run."
He soon gathered up her paperwork and left. Marie went out to retrieve her new comforts from the correctional officer: two sheets, a pillowcase, two cotton blankets, cheap white towels, and face cloth. These items were all smushed inside a mesh laundry bag. Add to that an ugly dingy blue coat with a broken zipper and a sandwich bag that contained a white mini-toothbrush, tiny packets of toothpaste and shampoo, and soap.
Heading out through the multiple gates of the fence, they finally made it to the end. Its driver, a middle-aged woman in army clothes and sunglasses, greeted Marie warmly. The lady wore makeup and little silver hoops in her ears. The thought of having friends in prison is getting more comfortable than she thought. Marie quickly climbed into the passenger seat. Odd enough, the guard didn't force her in or anything; she just closed the door and smiled encouragingly at Marie.
She flipped up the sunglasses and spoke first. "I'm Coin. I'm an inmate as well."
"You what?!"
Marie was astounded that she was a prisoner and was driving freely while guards stood by!
"What's your name—your last name? People go by their last names here."
"Kanker," She replied.
"Is this your first time down?"
The punk rebel lifted her eyebrow in confusion. "Huh? My first time here?"
"Your first time in prison."
Marie then firmly nodded and replied- "I guess anyone can go to jail, even kids my age, if the crime was serious."
"Yeah, that's why I was so confused when I saw you. Are you doin' okay, Kanker?" she asked as she guided the minivan up a small hill. "How much time do you have?"
"How much time?" Marie asked.
"How long is your sentence?"
"Oh! Nine months maybe even less. Only if I'm on good behavior, that is."
"Wow! That'll be over in no time."
They circled to the back entrance of a long building that resembled an old abandoned school. She pulled up next to a handicapped ramp and stopped the minivan. Marie followed her toward the building with her new things. Walking by, women were wearing identical ugly blue coats and were smoking up on the hill.
The older females looked rough and depressed. When seeing them lined up in a group, Marie noticed that one of them was pregnant and appeared to be the same age as her. What was a kid that bloated roaming in prison with the others?
"Do you smoke?" Coin asked.
"No."
"Awesome! At your age, you shouldn't anyway. Come, we need to get you settled. There's the dining hall." Coin gestured to her right down the endless stairs.
As they walk together, Coin took this opportunity to explain everything about Prison Camp, none of which Marie could understand. She followed her up a couple of stairs and into the vast building.
"…TV room where we chill and relax most of the time. There's the game room, basketball court, tennis tournament area. Hi, Mr. Parker! That's the day shift officer. He's pretty rad. Oh, there's Kim. Hey, Kim!" She greeted a slim white woman.
"This is Kanker; she's new, pretty cool too." Coin shouted happily as Kimberly, without hesitation, greeted Marie sympathetically.
Coin pressed on with being a tour guide. "Here are more offices, and those are the rooms we use as backup space down there." She turned to Marie, now serious. "Don't go down there; it's out of bounds for you, rookie. You understand?"
Marie shook her head up and down, not understanding a single thing. Women were all around them that she has never in her life seen before. Black, White, Latino, every age and race was here. In her new home. They were all dressed in orange uniforms different from the one Marie is wearing. The females all wore huge, heavy-looking black work boots.
The young Kanker realized that her fresh attire made it glaringly apparent that she was new. The cold breeze inside sent Marie shivering in her blue coat. They proceeded up the long main hall; ten more women came up and greeted them with the standard "You must be new" trope.
"You're new… are you all right?" One of the inmates seemed genuinely concerned. Marie hardly knew them, yet she felt at ease knowing someone cares for her well-being. She smiled weakly and said hello.
"And here is the counselor's office for personal issues. Who's your counselor?"
"Mr. Baker."
"Oh. Not bad. At least you don't have Mr. Johnson. That guy sucks and a total pain in my butt." She knocked on the door with some authority. Opening it, she stuck her head in, "Where did you put Kanker?"
It only took Coin five seconds to get all the information she needed as Mr. Baker gave her a response that she understood, which led her and Marie up to Room 8. They entered the small room that held sets of bunk beds along with high metal lockers.
In front of their view shows two older women who were lying on the top bunk.
"Hey, Dallas, this is Kanker! She's now your roommate. Treat her with respect, alright?" Coin ordered before returning her gaze at Marie with a warm smile. "Here's your bed." She indicated the one empty bottom bunk with a naked mattress.
Dallas sat up. The older female was a small, petite woman with short, spiky black hair. She appeared to be tired as she had black rings underneath her eyes.
"Hiya," She rasped in a country accent. "How are you? What's your name again?"
"It's Marie. Marie Kanker."
And like that, Coin's work was completed with no problems. Marie thanked the buff woman as she finally exited the room.
That just leaves the young rebel Kanker with Dallas and the other, silent woman, who seemed very independent. Marie cautiously placed her laundry bag on her new bunk and looked around the room.
Everywhere she looked, it was lockers, bunk beds, clothes scattered across the floor, and more. This dump wasn't so bad so far. Maybe even better than her house if she had to compare. Marie quickly got the hang of things in no time.
Dallas jumped out of bed and revealed herself to be way taller than Marie, about five feet. "Oh, I almost forgot. That's Jade, here's some toilet paper and spray—you gotta take it with you, it's required."
"Thanks. I guess this will come in handy," said Marie, still clutching her envelope with her paperwork and photos in it, and now a roll of toilet paper and spray.
"Make sure you back here by six."
"By six? What do you mean?" asked Marie feeling like a complete idiot yet again.
"At six, they always count us four times a day. Where's your number?"
"Number?"
"Yep, you'll need it to make phone calls. Dinner's after the three o'clock count, which is pretty soon, and lunch is at eleven. Breakfast kinda starts late though, from seven-fifteen to eight-fifteen."
Just by looking at them, Marie could already tell these females experience a lot while in here. Marie knew it wasn't wise to ask about their crime, especially if she didn't know them well.
Dallas saw that Marie was unsure what to say and helped her out. "Yeah, It's hell around here," she said sort of drily.
"Right."
Marie agreed before turning around and pulling items out of her laundry bag. She neatly places each object on her new bed.
That's when Dallas shrieked out of anger, "Hey, Kid! Don't make your bed!"
Marie quickly spun around, alarmed. "What's wrong? Did I do something?"
"We'll make it for you," She said.
"That's not necessary; I'll make it." Marie chuckled. She turned back to continue taking her items out of her bag.
Dallas storms her way over to Marie's bunk. "We'll. Make. The. Bed." She was very steadfast. "That's an order, not a request."
Marie looked around the room to find all seven beds were very tidily made with no dirt or anything on them. Both Dallas and Jade had been lying on top of their covers this entire time.
"Look. I know how to make a bed," Marie protested with a mean attitude.
"Listen, let us make the bed. We know how to do it, so we'll pass Inspection."
Marie's eyes widened. "Inspection? No one told me anything about inspections.."
"Inspection happens whenever Baker wants to do them—and he is insane," Dallas said. she pointed to the bunk below Marie's—" and that side needs cleaning!"
How can Marie respond to that? Sure, The young rebel can clean the bed herself, but she can't afford to make enemies and a bad name for herself because she didn't listen to someone over her. Most certainly not about to risk her life over Inspection.
"Wait, so we have to make the beds every morning?" Marie asked another question that makes her more of an idiot.
Jade looked at her and randomly said, "No, silly, we sleep on top of the beds."
"But what if I want to sleep in the bed?"
Both of them looked at Marie with complete annoyance and frustration.
"Look, if you wanna do that, go ahead—you'll be the only idiot in the whole prison!"
Time goes by as Dallas explains every detail Marie needed to know to survive the inspection test. Marie soon let go of the bedsheet. The mere thought of hundreds, thousands, millions of women sleeping on top of perfectly made beds was too strange for her to deal with at that moment. Out of nowhere, a nearby prison officer was blowing his military whistle.
"Count time, count time, count time! Count time, ladies!"
Confused, Marie looked to her right to ask another question. However, Dallas was hiding right behind Jade, scared.
"See that red light?" Taking a lookout in the hallway, over at the officers' station, Jade pointed to a noticeable red bulb that was now blinking on and off. "That light comes on during count. When that red light is on, you need to be where you're supposed to be, and don't move at all until it goes off."
Women were streaming back and forth in the hallway, getting to where they needed to be. These next few months of being lock up in prison are already time-consuming for the young Kanker.
SixYears Later
November 2nd
Months went by, eventually years. No longer is Marie, the little girl who walked inside the prison confused and asked many questions. Marie owned things and took control as soon as someone tried her while being stuck here. Thus trapping her for good and breaking her agreement with Mr. Baxer. She knew it would be a long time before they plan on letting her go.
As she was now just turning seventeen today, her appearance and personality changed for the worst. Marie now has long, beautiful silky hair that has been dyed a cotton candy pink color and numerous jail tattoos that someone did for her on each arm. She sat patiently on the bleachers quietly, searching the yard for one person in particular: Arianna Capello. A young Italian female promises to get Marie and her two roommates out of jail without getting caught by the corrections officers.
"Why are we still even waiting for that liar? I bet she won't even show up," Marie's roommate, Dallas, scoffed.
Marie didn't care what Dallas had to say, so she ignored her. She didn't feel like hearing her roommate 'hype her up' or anything of that nature. The pink-haired Kanker doesn't have time for childish games or making friends.
"She better come, or else we are going to have a serious problem.." Marie trailed off.
"Just wait; maybe she is waiting until our break is over," Dallas suggested.
They both agreed and waited in silence for their break to finally come to an end.
When recess was over, they both hopped down from the bleachers and walked towards the area where they had a TV. Unsurprisingly, Capello and one of her friends were there waiting for them.
"Long time no see, eh?" Marie grins as she walks towards them until she was only a few feet away. "Are you ready to do this?"
"Oh, Kanker. It's a surprise to see you here at this time," Arianna rolled her eyes.
"Right, It seems like you don't want to fall through with this plan," Marie chuckled. "So, you are just a liar skank."
Arianna's eyes widened in pure shock. "I'm not a liar. I just don't think It's a good idea."
Marie walked up closer to her target and grabbed the collar of her prison jumpsuit. "Just for that, babe, I'm kicking your ass and your little pet for wasting my time."
Arianna looked to her sidekick with nowhere to run, who glared back at her as if they didn't know what to do or how even to communicate. Other inmates started to enter the room, slowly circling around.
"You have two options. One, get your butt kick by me. Or two, get your ass kick by me and the entire prison." Marie tightens her grip as she was beginning to get agitated by the long unnecessary waiting.
Arianna's sidekick charged at Marie out of the blue, so she moved sideways; The girl instantly fell, crashing into a nearby poker table. The pink-haired Kanker looked at her new enemy, upset and baffled by her stupid failed attempt to silence her.
Then Arianna lunged at her, throwing the first punch. Marie dodged it and pulled her down with her hands; It was at this moment Marie had no choice but to uppercut her right in the nose. She immediately fell backward, holding her nose as blood cascaded down her face.
Marie stood there, over towering Arianna; she gestured for her to get up and fight, which she had no problem doing. She slapped Marie right in the face; Not feeling that weak attack Marie swung her left arm forward, punching Arianna in the mouth. She held her mouth with her right hand, giving the young Kanker time to hit again without showing any mercy.
Arianna fell to the ground, groaning as she went. Marie sat on her stomach, pinning her down. Arianna barreled her fists into her face protecting herself. It was no point in doing so, as Marie kept hitting her over and over and over.
Blood was dripping each time the hit landed. It was impossible to dodge such a heavy blow. Marie continues her rage out on her target. Punching, pulling, even spitting. Until four strong arms lifted her, she saw Arianna's entire face was covered in blood. Two guards helped her stand as she spits blood onto the concrete floor.
"Have fun in the hole, skank!" Arianna yelled, laughing while having a bloody smile stretching across her face.
Marie struggled against the two guards that were holding her back, "Let me go, I ain't done with that freeloader!"
"Calm down!" One of the guards yelled. "What are on earth are you doing, Williams? Help us out, for Pete's sake!" He called out.
Another guard came running downstairs and held Marie's legs while the other two held her arms and shoulders.
She tried kicking him in the face or any area to get him off her. One female guard came as Marie was mumbling a few curse words. Up to six guards held her down, two holding her arms and four holding her legs and stomach.
They dragged the teen down the hallway and threw her in a cell, slamming the door and locking it before she had the chance to protest. Marie ran to the door and pounded on it with her fists non-stop.
"Let me out! I didn't do anything!" Marie shouted as loud as she can to grab the guards' attention. "I don't belong here!"
"You call this not doing anything, Kanker!?" One of the guards, Williams, shouted, showing the scars that Marie just caused him. "You were close to killing her! So have fun in there and shut up!"
Marie yelled a few more curse words trying to get her point across to the guards. Sadly, she heard a loud buzz signaling they had closed the gate on her.
A soft chuckle loud enough to be heard came from a cell that was across from Marie's, "What a surprise to see you here."
Marie rolled her eyes and sat down on the hard slabbed. "Look what we have here, Coin. Guess I'm seeing nothing but traders today. What a happy birthday..."
Nora Coin. She is the most dangerous female in this place. The one person, Marie, thought she could trust. Boy, was she wrong? The elderly female ratted Marie out when sneaking out of prison a year ago. Since then, they have always been on bad terms, to the point of wanting to kill each other on sight. Somehow, she and Marie became close once again a while back when they were thrown in the hole the same day.
"Oh, haha, very funny. To be honest with you, this place is better than my real home." Coin stated dryly. "And happy birthday or whatever..."
"Thanks," said Marie, keeping the conversation simple and to the point.
Coin chuckled to herself. "Why are you even here, Kanker?"
"Freaking Arianna Capello. Dumb chick bail on the plan we promised to do. So, in return, I just kick that bimbo butt for wasting my time, and now I'm stuck here." Marie explained in great detail as she bends two of her fingers up and down.
Soon enough, Coin relaxes a bit before saying- "Well, it's good to have you back."
"Yeah, right," She scoffed. "I can't stand this dump. These dumb females, the guards, those loud, vicious dogs that sound like my younger sister are all annoying! I can't wait to get out of here."
"You just got it bad or something." Coin replied. "At least you not stuck in here for another eight-teen years like me."
"Yeah, well, you can sit in here for as long as you want, Coin. I'm not going to be in here for much longer," says Marie in a stern voice. "I bet my little dreamboat already has another female..."
"Another female?" Coin begins to laugh out of control. "Get over that little punk already. The world goes on without you. So you should do the same. No man in the world is worth chasing after."
Marie didn't reply, as Coin was one hundred percent right. In her mind, maybe she needed to give up on him. Marie is seven-teen after all, and the spark between them had no sort of light to shine through. While she thinks about her future, Marie didn't care. The rebel Kanker had one goal. And that's breaking out of this place: one way or another.
