"Just a young gun with a quick fuse
I was uptight, wanna let loose
I was dreaming of bigger things
And wanna leave my own life behind."
Yūji taps her pencil to the beat of the song blasting through her headphones. She expertly twirls around, dodging people in the almost overflowing airport easily. She continues to sketch, humming under her breath.
"Not a yes sir, not a follower
Fit the box, fit the mold
Have a seat in the foyer, take a number
I was lightning before the thunder."
She jumps over a rolling suitcase in her way without pausing in her drawing. People glance at her every once in a while before going back to their business. Obviously a foreigner.
Yūji sighs softly and closes her sketchbook once the chorus hits. She taps her thighs to the beat after stuffing her hands into her pockets and starts walking normally.
"They're takin' forever... Okay startin' to get hungry," She thinks with a small pout. She frowns slightly when she spots an airport restaurant and internally groans. Airport food was always the worst.
"Kids were laughing in my classes
While I was scheming for the masses
Who do you think you are?
Dreaming 'bout being a big star."
Yūji twirls around the large crowds of people as she makes her way to the restaurant. It was a simple sushi stand. Yūji's stomach growls loudly when she smells the delicious scents all around her.
"'scuse me!" The pink haired teenager waves with a bright smile, walking up to the stand.
"They say you're basic, they say you're easy
You're always riding in the back seat
Now I'm smiling from the stage while
You're clapping in the nosebleeds."
The pink haired teenager takes out her earbuds and wraps them around her neck. "I'd like a roll of futomaki sushi* please!"
"¥920.15," The chef says while ringing up the order. Yūji pulls over her backpack and rummages through it. She takes out a white wallet with chibi characters of cats on it. Yūji takes out a 1,000 yen note and hands it to the chef.
"Thank you! Oh, keep the change," Yūji says brightly before skipping over to one of the barstools. She opens her sketchbook again and continues her drawing as she waits on her food.
"I wonder what's takin' 'em so long. Did they not get the message?" The pink haired teenager thinks back on the message the American jujutsu higher-ups supposedly sent to Japan, so she wouldn't be killed the moment she entered the country.
"They should know I'm here..." She adds as an after thought, glancing around the terminal inconspicuously. She jumps slightly when a plate of futomaki is placed in front of her.
"That was so fast!" Yūji grins up at the chef. "Thank you for the meal."
She takes the chopsticks sitting next to the sushi and starts to eat quickly. A small prickle at the back of her neck makes her pause for a moment.
"There it is!" Yūji grins even wider, feeling someone watching her from afar. She goes back to eating her sushi, holding off on making it known that she can sense the person watching her–or people.
Yūji quickly finishes her sushi and gently places the chopsticks on top of the plate. She unzips her bag and stuffs her sketchbook and pencil inside before getting off the barstool.
She was slightly surprised at how long it took the sorcerers to find her, even though she wandered around the airport for an hour or so. She stuck out like a sore thumb compared to the crowds.
Her mid-back length hair was two-toned–the top half a cherry blossom pink and the bottom half a midnight black–and most would assume she dyed it, even though she never dyed her hair in her life. It was pulled up into a high ponytail, showing off the shaved undercut and her multiple ear piercings. She wore a bright red bra, a black mesh cropped hoodie that showed off her abs, a high waisted black skirt that ended at her mid-thigh, red thigh high socks, and black combat boots.
"Mm. I need some redbull," Yūji says after yawning loudly. She adjusts her backpack before walking back to a little convenience store stand she spotted while she wandered. She doesn't acknowledge the person who suddenly started walking in step next to her.
He easily dwarfed her above average height of five feet and nine inches by standing around six feet three inches–maybe even taller than that. He wore all black and had his hands in his pockets. A black blindfold hid his eyes and kept his glowing white hair up and away from his face. His skin was pale, the palest Yūji's ever really seen–excluding curses–and he practically radiated confidence and deserved arrogance.
Yūji smiles slightly when she still feels eyes on her. "So's more than one watchin' me."
"Hello!" Yūji greets the vendor running the convenience store stand with a bright smile and a wave.
"Hello, miss! What can I get for ya today?" The jovial man asks brightly, eyes crinkling at the edges from his smile.
"One redbull please!" She turns her head and looks up at the white haired stranger. "Want anythin'?"
"Hm... Not right now, thanks!" The stranger exclaims with a glittering smile. Yūji smiles back before facing the vendor again. She takes out her wallet and pulls out a handful of coins.
"It's ¥190 right?" The pink haired asks as she starts counting out the amount. The vendor just smiles and hands the regular can of redbull over.
"Free for the lovely lady. You're first time in Japan?" The vendor says with a dramatic bow. Yūji looks up in slight surprise before glancing down at the coins in her hands.
"The first time I remember bein' in Japan. Are you sure you don't want me to pay?" She asks, holding out the coins.
The vendor raises his hands with a smile. "Think of it as a welcome back gift. You look like you need it."
Yūji just smiles at the slightly insulting comment before putting up her money and wallet. She grabs the redbull and gives the vendor a bright smile.
"Thank you, sir! I really appreciate it. Hope you've a nice day!" The pink haired teenager turns around and starts walking away. The white haired stranger follows after her at a leisurely place.
Yūji opens the redbull and downs the drink in one go. She crushes the can and throws it away before glancing back at the stranger.
"How can you see through the blindfold?" Yūji asks curiously as she makes her way to a bench. She easily jumps onto it before crouching down.
"Has something to do with my cursed technique." The stranger shrugs with an easygoing smile.
"I go by Yū. The ambassador for the American jujutsu community," Yūji introduces herself with a bright smile and holds out her hand.
The stranger shakes her hand with a wider smile. "Gojo Satoru. The strongest sorcerer in the world."
Yūji raises an eyebrow at the statement before pushing her hands off her knees to stand up. She stretches out her arms and jumps off the bench, ignoring the few dirty looks she gets from bystanders passing her and Satoru.
"Nice t' meet ya Gojo!" The pink haired teenager adjusts her backpack. "We goin' now 'r we waitin' for the ones watchin' me to reveal themselves?"
"The others will meet us at the car. Let's go." Yūji pouts slightly at the immediate answer before she quickly follows after the tall man.
"Who're the others?" She asks as she turns around and starts walking backwards. She easily dodges the crowds of people around them without looking behind her.
"You'll meet them soon enough, but they're two of my students and our driver. You have a meeting with the higher-ups, so we're heading straight to the school!" Satoru states with a grin. Yūji blinks at the information before sighing in annoyance. She scratches the back of her head with a frown.
"I need another redbull. I haven't had enough sleep this past week to deal with two meetings with higher-ups back-to-back..." Yūji says before popping her neck.
"You'll need more than redbull. The higher-ups here are old traditional conservatives," Satoru informs the pink haired teenager. Yūji groans quietly and rubs her face.
"I should've just faked my death... I ain't dealing with more manipulatin' bullshit," Yūji thinks to herself. She rolls her neck and pops her knuckles. It's too late now.
"Oh wow. She's hot!" The loud statement makes Yūji blink before she spots two teenagers her age wearing similar uniforms that Satoru was wearing. One was a female with bright orange hair ending at her chin, large brown eyes, and fair skin. The other was a tall male–not as tall as Satoru, obviously–with messy black hair, seemingly glowing green eyes, and pale skin.
"Hello!" Yūji gives the two a bright smile and a wave. "I go by Yū, nice to meet you both!"
"Kugisaki Nobara. It's good to have another woman around here. Gojo-sensei's antics get so annoying and Fushiguro-kun never does anything to stop it," The ginger haired teenager states with a grin. Yūji smiles with a giggle and adjusts her backpack.
"Fushiguro Megumi." The black haired teenager doesn't say anything else.
"Hey, Gojo-sensei," Nobara leans forward and hides her mouth from view, "I thought an American was coming."
Yūji smiles at the question she overhears and scratches the back of her neck. "I's born here, but moved to America an' became an American citizen when I's 'round 10."
Nobara flushes slightly before placing her hands on her hips. She grins and points at the pink haired teenager.
"Are the boys cute over there?" Nobara asks curiously, making Megumi facepalm. Yūji shrugs while tilting her head in thought.
"I guess they are, but most of their personalities are shit. I prefer the girls or the others when it comes t' datin'," Yūji answers before glancing up at the white haired man.
"Think we can stop by a convenience store? I'm gettin' another redbull before I deal with any more higher-ups," She asks hopefully. Satoru taps his chin in thought before shrugging.
"We'll see! Got everything you need before we head out?" He asks, making Yūji pout slightly. She hums in thought before snapping her fingers. She glances around before placing two fingers in her mouth.
PHUWEET
"Luci! We're leavin' now!" Yūji calls out with a smile. She laughs softly when she hears a small yip before Luci comes running out of the airport. She crouches down right as Luci jumps into the air and easily catches the hellhound.
"Have fun 'xplorin'?" Yūji asks before laughing when Luci licks her face. She stands back up, still holding the black fluffball in her arms.
"'m ready now," The pink haired teenager states with a bright smile. Nobara squeals loudly before pulling the taller female and the dog into a hug.
"You're so cute! Can I hold her? Is it a her?" The ginger haired teenager asks brightly.
Yūji laughs while Luci barks excitedly. "Sure! Luci's already spoiled, so I don't mind if ya hold her."
"Eh... Gojo-san, the car's ready," A slightly nervous man with black hair, glasses over his black eyes, and fair skin speaks nervously. Satoru grins brightly and places a hand on the man's shoulder.
"Yū, this is Ijichi Kiyotaka! He's the assistant director at Tokyo Jujutsu High School! Ijichi-kun this is Yū, the ambassador from America!" Satoru introduces the two. "Oh, and her... dog, Luci!"
"Nice to meetcha, sir!" The pink haired teenager exclaims brightly while holding out one of her hands. Kiyotaka straightens up a bit and smiles at the female as he shakes her hand.
"Nice to meet you too, Yū-san... and Luci-san," Kiyotaka says politely.
Luci barks again before Yūji hands her over to Nobara. Yūji gets into the car first, followed by Nobara, then Megumi.
"...I wonder where Suku-nī is..." Yūji leans her head against her hand and stares out of the window. Pain stabs through her heart. She was so close... so close.
Yūji stretches sher back as she gets out of the car. Luci jumps out after her before she starts walking towards the school, so Nobara and Megumi could exit the car.
"Thank you Mr. Ijichi!" Yūji gives the man a wave before he drives off after Satoru exits the car.
"I'll show you where you'll be staying before taking you to where the higher-ups are. You'll have to leave your... dog in your room," Satoru says, making Luci whine and Yūji smile.
"You'll see me 'gain, Luci. Just a meetin'. I know how much you hate the word higher-ups," Yūji speaks down to her hellhound as the group starts walking into the school. She blinks slightly in surprise at all of the teenagers she sees walking around.
"We're a public school. Only the students who live on the campus are sorcerers. Higher-ups kissing up to many of the rich people in Japan," Satoru explains with an easygoing grin.
Yūji frowns slightly, shoulders tensing slightly. "...for protection, I assume?"
"Unfortunately. Also kids from government parents. Stuck-up assholes," Nobara scoffs as she glares around at a couple of schoolgirls pointing at her and giggling.
"That hurts, Nobara-chan!" Satoru whines playfully, making Nobara turn her glare over to her teacher.
"You're a stuck-up asshole for a different reason, Gojo-sensei. You don't count," She says before crossing her arms with an annoyed huff. Yūji giggles before tensing slightly when she hears a wolf whistle.
"Motherfuckers!" Yūji looks around with a small glare before spotting the person who wolf whistled. Just a simple nameless boy who was laughing with a group of his friends. They start hollering at her, making a vein pop out of her jaw.
She rolls her eyes and flips off the group of boys as she takes out the redbull Satoru bought for her from her backpack. Yūji smirks at the shouts of anger now and opens the can with one hand before downing it in one go.
"Should you be drinking redbull that fast?" Megumi asks with raised eyebrows. Yūji shakes her head no as she crushes the empty can into a ball.
"Nope!" Yūji throws the balled up can into a trashcan that they walk past. "In the past three days, I've only had an hour of sleep. I'm running on pure spite, redbull, and insomnia right now."
"...that's not... good?" Megumi says in confusion. Yūji smiles at him before shrugging.
"I'm too tired to give any fucks right now." Megumi blinks before rolling his eyes when Satoru laughs and Nobara snorts.
"Whatever," The pretty boy mutters before pulling out his phone. He gives a lazy wave as he breaks from the group.
"Good luck surviving the higher-ups, Yū-chan. I wanna hang out with you more." Nobara is next to leave. Yūji raises an eyebrow at the statement before pushing it out of her mind. She's too tired to think about anything thoroughly right now.
"This way towards the first year dorms!" Satoru states with a bright grin.
"This is more interestin' than I expected... Oh, the American higher-ups're gonna regret lettin' me leave." Yūji cackles inside her head. Oh, she can't wait!
Hey! So the second chapter is up! I hope you all enjoy it.
*Information*
*(1): futomaki sushi is a common type of makizushi. They're larger than the average makizushi roll (around 2-2 inches in diameter)
Also, yes I made Tokyo Jujutsu High a real school. I just liked the idea, so here it is, lol.
I hope you all are enjoying the story so far! Bye.
