"This place is incredible!" Stiles said in awe as he made his way back into the control room. Donna had announced that she wanted to get changed and went through a door that Stiles had no idea existed in the back. He didn't go very far through the labyrinth of tunnels, but he saw enough. A massive garden, a library that put the Library of Congress to shame, an enormous spa resort, a fully stocked kitchen, a laboratory that would make the Dread Doctors green with envy, a ballroom that looked like it belonged in a castle, a garage full of antique and futuristic vehicles, and a wardrobe filled with so many cloths that Stiles almost thought he walked into a department store. The Doctor looked over at him from his spot by the consul, smiling and stroking the surface with his hand.

"She is, isn't she?" he asked. The action was one Stiles recognized immediately because he did it all the time too to his jeep. Stiles never told anyone where he got the jeep from. Of course his dad knew as did Melissa, and if Stiles put some thought into it he would assume Natalie Martin, Rafael McCall, and even David Whittmore knew. Unless Melissa told Scott, none of the individuals from Stiles generation knew that the previous owner of the jeep was Claudia Stilinski. Had they known, they probably wouldn't tell him to replace her every few days. Stiles would never be able to part with her though, she was the last connection he really had with his mom. People just made strange connections to machinery like that and Stiles could tell that the Doctor viewed the TARDIS like Stiles did his baby.

"Does this thing really go to other times and places?" Stiles asked. The Doctor gave him a hard look for a moment before throwing a switch. The entire ship shook hard for a moment and Stiles lost his balance, spilling to the ground before scrambling back up and mumbling that he was alright. The Doctor smirked.

"Why don't you take a look for yourself?" he suggested, nodding toward the door. Had Stiles been thinking, he would have realized that this was the perfect opportunity for the Doctor to do something horrible to him. Then again it was likely that he was just going back out into the Preserve but something about the Doctor's demeanor made Stiles follow the command. Stiles rushed to the door before throwing it open, ready to see the forest in front of him. Instead it was a vast open space, filled with stars and galaxies that Stiles couldn't even begin to process. It was beautiful, open, and terrifying all at once.

"Oh my god!" Stiles breathed in awe. He moved an additional step forward when a hand came down on his shoulder, stopping him. Logic seemed to catch up with him and Stiles realized the dangers of standing with an open door looking into the vast emptiness of space. "Wait, how are we still alive? Like why aren't we, you know, sucked out into the void of space or suffocated by now?" Stiles asked.

"It's the TARDIS. She's protecting us." The Doctor said. Stiles looked over his shoulder at him. "There's a forcefield around the TARDIS that keeps the air in and keeps us from getting pulled out there. She's even got her own artificial gravity. She can do anything." The Doctor said. Stiles smirked.

"Can she make the Kessel Run in less than twelve parsecs?" Stiles asked. The Doctor gave him a baffled look and Stiles cleared his throat. Maybe that was too much for the Doctor? "So how big is this ship anyway? I found a lot of rooms back there." Stiles said.

"A few dozen rooms right now. Potentially, infinite. Which reminds me." The Doctor removed the hand, turning and heading back to the controls. Curious, Stiles closed the door to the TARDIS and rushed back toward the console.

"What?" he asked, reaching the Doctor's side. The Doctor started fiteling with a few of the controls. "What are you doing?" Stiles asked. The Doctor finished whatever he was doing and turned fully to Stiles.

"I made you a room." He said. Stiles gave him a stunned look, his jaw falling open.

"A what?" he asked. The Doctor smirked.

"Well I can't have you sleeping in here can I? You wouldn't get any sleep." The Doctor said.

"So wait, you can just make rooms?" Stiles asked. The Doctor nodded. "And you made one for me?" Stiles asked. Again the Doctor nodded.

"Yup, and it's ready now if you need it. I could show you where it is." He offered while looking Stiles over. Stiles realized the Doctor was trying to see if he was actually ready to go on an adventure. They did pick him up at night, so Stiles was potentially too tired to go on an adventure. However this wasn't the first time Stiles would go on an adventure with no sleep the night before.

"I'm alright. What are you a Doctor of anyway? Are you like a medical Doctor or do you have a doctorate?" Stiles asked.

"I have a few." The Doctor said, leaning against the controls. Stiles raised his eyebrows in shock. The Doctor looked far too young to have multiple doctorates.

"How old are you anyway?" he sputtered out.

"I'm over nine hundred years old." The Doctor said, a smirk on his face. Words failed him for a moment, trying to understand just what he was told. Another being who lived over nine hundred years came to mind. A being that screamed it was over a thousand years old and they couldn't kill it as it stormed toward Stiles and Lydia to kill them. Stiles didn't know the Doctor but there was one feeling he got from the Doctor that the nogitsune gave off too. Loneliness. Not many beings could live that long, and the few that did didn't usually meet. And usually when they did, like Noshiko Yukimura and the nogitsune, it never ended well. The nine-hundred-year-old celestial kitsune and the nogitsune had become mortal enemies. It was a life of tragedy, loss, and pain.

"Is that normal? For Time Lords?" Stiles asked. The Doctor paused for a moment.

"It was." He said. Stiles wondered what that meant. Was he saying that Time Lords don't live that long any more or was he saying Time Lords weren't around anymore. If the Doctor didn't have any people then maybe he was lonelier than Stiles suspected he was.

"I see. So are you and Donna from the same planet?" Stiles asked. The Doctor shook his head, actually chuckling a little.

"I'm from the planet Gallifrey and Donna is from Chizwick. She's one hundred percent human. Just like you." The Doctor said. Stiles had a moment where he was about to be offended, preparing to yell at the Doctor about that but he realized it wasn't meant as an insult. Maybe the Doctor liked keeping humans around because he wasn't human?

"That explains her accent, but what about yours?" Stiles asked, curious. After all both of them seemed to have a British accent.

"Oh, I spent quite a bit of time in London." He said by way of explanation.

"So how'd you two meet then?" Stiles asked. The Doctor actually outright laughed this time and his face lit up like a giddy child. Clearly this was a wonderful memory to him.

"She showed up here, in my TARDIS, in a weeding dress yelling about pockets." He said. Stiles realized there was a lot of that story missing but he usually did that too.

"So Donna's married?" Stiles asked. The Doctor's face fell a little, looking more serious.

"No." he said. Stiles knew that tone. It was a tone used to say that line of the conversation was over. Stiles was a curious person, but he knew when to quit. Apparently Time Lords and Donna's husband were both topics of discussion that were off limits. For a moment Stiles didn't know what to say or do. It was like the situation had just became awkward.

"So, are we ready to go?" the two turned to see Donna stroll in like the TARDIS was hers, wearing a t-shirt and jeans that she appeared to be more comfortable in. Either that or she was intentionally giving the two of them time to meet each other. The Doctor's face softened, and Stiles wondered just how long the two of them had been traveling together.

"Yup." The Doctor said. He pulled on another leaver and the entire ship shook again. This time Stiles was quick enough to grab the nearest solid thing he could find. Unfortunately it happened to be Donna. She didn't seem to mind too much though. The vehicle stopped moving and the Doctor turned to Donna and Stiles, a huge grin on his face and stuffing his hands into his pockets. Stiles looked between them and the door and the Doctor and Donna both gave him a small nod. In excitement, Stiles rushed to the door, opening it a second time and expecting to see a scene like before but instead it was a bustling street. In awe, Stiles stumbled out of the TARDIS door and into the street. Aliens of all kinds moved around him as they went about their business, and directly in front of him was a place called the 'Zaggit Zagoo Bar'. The door was open and Stiles could see inside a number of various beings drinking and eating with a few minor fights.

"Oh my god, it's the Chalmun's Cantina!" Stiles said. The Doctor and Donna came out of the TARDIS next, Donna giving him a confused look.

"The what?" she asked. Stiles gave her a disbelieving look. Ok, maybe the alien from an unknown planet didn't know what Star Wars was, and that was fine, but she was from Earth! She had no excuse!

"Star Wars. The place Luke met Han Solo." Stiles said. Donna still didn't look like she understood what he meant and Stiles let out an aggravated huff. "Unbelievable." He groaned. It was a shame too, because he was really starting to like Donna. Donna just turned to the Doctor.

"Where are we anyway?" she asked. The Doctor grinned.

"The planet Zog, about 2070." He said. Donna gave him a confused look. "What, you said you wanted to go." He said, his smile falling. Donna crossed her arms.

"I said 'forget about planet Zog'. I didn't know it was a real planet! It was just something to say!" she objected. Donna looked around the busy street again. "So why here?" she asked. The Doctor's grin returned.

"It's more of a place to stop while your traveling, think of it like a universe truck stop." He said. Donna's angry look returned.

"A truck stop?! You took us to a truck stop?!" she demanded. The smile was gone again, this time replaced by a look of concern.

"You don't like it?" the Doctor asked. Donna's angry look faded.

"It's because all of the different aliens right?" Stiles asked. The Doctor glanced over at him before nodding.

"That's one reason. Species from all over the galaxy stop here on their travels." The Doctor said.

"It's 2070 you said. That's not all that far in the future." Donna said. The Doctor shrugged.

"Well, no one from Earth has made it here and they don't bother with Earth, it's only a Level Five planet so to most of them it's not civilized enough yet. No chance of spoilers." The Doctor said as he walked away. Stiles blinked.

"Level five? Wait, how many levels are there? Who decides that?" Stiles asked, but the Doctor didn't give any indication of an answer. Stiles looked over at Donna.

"He always does that." She said. The two followed the Doctor. Stiles looked around, seeing some beings that looked like normal humans.

"So humans really haven't made it this far yet?" Stiles asked. It appeared that there were a few species that appeared like humans.

"Well, there's one. He pops in every so often, not that anyone would notice. He likes to visit that bar from time to time." The Doctor turned long enough to point to the bar Stiles noted. "He's that sort of a man, don't care who he picks up." Stiles was surprised to learn the Doctor had a friend like that. There was nothing wrong with the way the Doctor described his friend, it just wasn't the type of person Stiles imagined the Doctor wanting around him. When they met, the Doctor had said that he liked cleaver people. It gave Stiles the impression that he had a type of people he liked around him. Then again when you've lived that long, you probably gather all kinds of strange people around you. Hell, Stiles wasn't even out of his teens yet and he had such a range of people he hung out with that the only type missing is someone normal.

"What about the TARDIS? Won't someone get in?" Stiles asked after a moment. The Doctor turned around so he was walking backwards for a moment, keeping his eyes on the little blue box.

"Oh, she'll be alright." He said, turning and walking forward again. Stiles looked at Donna, who shrugged.

"He's always like this. Never gives you a straight answer." She clarified. Stiles nodded to show he understood.

"What kind of a man is he?" Stiles asked. Donna smiled.

"He's the Doctor. He's saved thousands of worlds, protected infinite numbers of people, and has no sense of taking care of himself." She said, a tone of amusement in her voice. Stiles felt speechless at that. "That's what he does, travel around, get into trouble, and we have to run from it." She said. Stiles must have made a face because she actually laughed. "Seriously there is a ridiculous amount of running." She said.

"Runnings good. I like to run." Stiles said, lying through his teeth. In all honesty Stiles hated running. It was miserable and he never was particularly good at it anyway. Life surrounded by supernatural creatures though forced you to run a lot, so Stiles had been getting better over time. Still hated it though. Stiles opened his mouth to say more but a being almost collided into him. Stiles leaped back in surprise and alarm, noting the appearance of the creature. It looked like an anthropomorphic fish with a green fluid tank in its mouth.

"Oh, sorry about that." Donna said quickly, pulling Stiles aside. The creature 'spoke', bubbling fluid in a way that Stiles could almost hear 'that's alright.' Stiles sputtered as it continued on.

"That was a Hath." Donna explained. Stiles looked between the Hath and Donna.

"I could…I could understand it!" he said. Donna nodded.

"Yeah." She said, drawing out the end of the word in a way that Stiles felt like she was saying it should be obvious. "The TARDIS translates every language." She said. Stiles jerked back at that.

"Wait, so if I went to China I could talk to everyone?" he asked. Donna nodded. "Oh my god!" Stiles said, excited. Donna looked amused by his behavior. The Doctor stopped in the street and waited for them to catch up.

"So what are some of the other species?" Stiles asked. The Doctor glanced around. He pointed at a creature that looked like a small troll or gremlin. "That there is a Graske. Little mischief makers." The Doctor said. He then pointed to a creature with reddish skin and what appeared like a bone helmet. Then again it could have been an exoskeleton. "And that is a sycorax. Stopped them from invading Earth one Christmas." He said. Then the Doctor pointed out a large anthropomorphic rhino. "And that is a Judoon. Think of them like the galaxy police." The Doctor added. Stiles turned to the Doctor.

"Wait, there's a galaxy police force?" Stiles asked. The Doctor looked pained for a moment before shrugging as if he was looking for a way to explain it.

"Well more like police men for hire. They help enforce a few local laws and the Shadow Proclamation but…" he started.

"What's the Shadow Proclamation?" Stiles cut him off.

"You ask so many questions." The Doctor noted. Stiles felt a tremor of embarrassment, but the Doctor was just smiling, almost like he wanted Stiles to know that he wasn't upset by it. In fact, it seemed like the Doctor was meaning that as a form of compliment. "The Shadow Proclamation is kind of like a code in the galaxy to keep the peace." He said.

"They're not very nice though." Donna said. The Doctor started looking around. "Doctor, what's wrong?" Donna asked. Stiles wondered if he hadn't stopped to allow them to catch up, but maybe he stopped for a different reason. The Doctor was looking ahead at a building. It was rather nice, comparatively to the rest of the street. People wearing fancy clothes went inside and a porter was checking papers as they did.

"Look at that building." The Doctor ordered. They did.

"What about it?" Donna asked. The Doctor looked exasperated for a moment.

"Come on Donna look!" he emphasized. Donna just shook her head and the Doctor turned to Stiles. "Stiles?" he asked. Stiles chewed on his lip for a moment.

"It's fancy?" he asked. The Doctor looked excited.

"Right! It's much higher class than anything else on this street." He said. Stiles and Donna looked at each other, not sure what to say. "Why?" the Doctor asked after a moment. The two shook their heads to show hey had no idea. "Then we should take a look, shouldn't we?" he asked, pulling out a leather bound item from his pocket. Stiles opened his mouth to ask what exactly it was but Donna's face lit up and she laughed.

"Come on spaceman." She agreed. The two started toward the building, Donna beckoning Stiles to follow. Stiles definitely wouldn't miss this for the world. The three of them reached the porter just as Stiles realized they probably didn't have an invitation or anything else. The Doctor opened the leather to show a single paper. The paper was blank, confusing Stiles even more.

"Hello. I'm the Doctor and these are my plus two." The Doctor said. The Porter looked at the paper closer and Stiles expected him to start yelling about the paper being blank but instead the man just grinned.

"Welcome Sir Doctor and family." The Porter said. Donna and the Doctor both looked at her in surprise.

"Oh, we're not..we're not a…" the Doctor started.

"Absolutely no…" Donna started but seeing the Porter's confused look, Stiles threw an arm around both of their shoulders.

"Thanks Sir. Come on Daddy-o, you promised I could get curly fried when we got here." Stiles said. Donna gave him an affronted look but the Doctor quickly nodded.

"Right…right, sorry, you know kids!" he told the porter. The man nodded and the Doctor gestured to the other two. "Well, let's go." The Doctor said. The three went into the lobby and Stiles stumbled to a halt as the doors closed behind them. The lobby looked like a fancy hotel lobby, leather couches and hard wood desks. Marbel floors with white walls and gold trim.

"Ok, what the hell was that?" Stiles asked. The Doctor gave him a confused look.

"What? You started it." He said. Stiles was baffled for a moment.

"No, that!" he said, pointing to the paper in the Doctor's hand. The Doctor turned it to look at it better, then looked back at Stiles. "It's blank, but the guy at the door acted like it said something." Stiles added. The Doctor and Donna both looked impressed for a moment.

"Psychic paper doesn't work on him?" Donna asked. The Doctor looked at Stiles like he was impressive.

"There's a few reasons psychic paper wouldn't work. Some people could be just too cleaver, or some people could have resistance to psychic influences." The Doctor said.

"Like being able to defend my mind? Because I've been learning that thanks to Lydia. She's a banshee and is pretty good thing to have when you're dealing with things that can sense everything about you." Stiles remarked.

"See, very nice!" the Doctor praised. A woman with green skin approached them in a hurry, prickles in her skin and prickles in her face. Stiles jumped back in surprise as he looked at the woman.

"She's a cactus!?" Stiles and Donna said at the same time. The Doctor gave them both offended looks.

"Now, now. Don't be rude. Imagine what you look like to her, all pink and squishy looking." He scolded. Stiles scoffed.

"Please, I'm pale skin and fragile bone. Nothing 'pink' about it." Stiles said. Donna chuckled. Stiles liked Donna, despite not knowing her that well yet, and she was everything Stiles imagined Lydia turning into when she reached that age. The woman looked between the three of them in confusion.

"Yes, sorry about that, what can we do for you?" the Doctor asked, addressing her. The girl gave them a forced smile.

"I'm sorry, but you do not meet the dress code for this establishment. If you wish, I can take you to our shop…" she started. The Doctor lit up.

"Oh, a little shop! I love little shops. Please, lead the way." He said. The three followed the cactus woman down a hall and to a small shop. There were men's suits on the left and women's gowns on the right. Donna leaned toward the Doctor, whispering as if she didn't want anyone to hear what she was saying.

"Doctor, we don't have any money." She said. The Doctor looked surprised.

"Oh, right, I forgot about that. Excuse me miss, is there a machine or somewhere I can withdraw money from?" the Doctor asked. Stiles blinked at the Doctor. They had ATM's on other planets? Of course they have ATM's, why wouldn't they? The woman looked surprised.

"Yes, of course we do but the shop is complimentary to all customers." She said. So it was free? Apparently, Donna had no problem understanding that.

"Oh, well, in that case." Donna moved over to the dresses, rifting through them. Stiles looked back at the Doctor and he nodded toward the suits. In Stiles whole life he had only used two suits. The first was his mother's funeral and the second was the dance with Lydia. This time he wouldn't have to adjust it with duct tape. After shifting around a few suits, Stiles found one he liked. It was simpler, black with red. Red was the most appropriate color after all, one associated with wolves thanks to fairy tales. Stiles pulled the suit off the rack, looking at the Doctor who was pulling a suit off the rack himself. A plain black one with a bow tie.

"Well?" Stiles asked. The Doctor nodded.

"Red's a good color for you." He said. Stiles grinned.

"You think so?" he asked, but the Doctor was already walking away. Stiles decided to go and change, returning to see Donna and the Doctor had also changed. Donna had a pretty dress, green, and was smiling.

"Right then, let's go see what this place is up to." The Doctor announced.
