I opened my eyes to find that I had landed in the rainforest, birds chirping and insects buzzing as I took out my compass.

"Nightwing," I said to the compass, its needle suddenly turned black with specks of silver on it. I had enchanted this compass to be able to find anything I wanted, I just needed to tell it what it was and its needle would change color to the object I wanted to find and point towards it.

'Nice, just need to make sure that no one will be able to find me now,' I thought and took out a black cloth out of my bag, I wrapped it around my shoulders like a cape and walked towards where the compass had pointed towards the closest Nightwing in the area.

"Now just focus your energy onto the band and imagine the enchantment you want on it, then start using the object you enchanted," my aunt said, teaching me how to use and enchant my bracelet with the ability to wield fire.

I focused my energy on the bracelet, watching as it was slowly enveloped in flames and melted into a lump of molten metal.

"Seems like the enchantment was too strong, I wonder if there is a metal that can handle molten iron..." my aunt trailed off, looking around for objects to enchant to wield fire.

"I don't see why I must enchant my bracelet with fire, I am just as effective with knives," I muttered, I always found enchanting an object exhausting, knives were easier to use and can be just as deadly as fire when used in combat.

"Enchanting objects is a power that you must know how to use, it can be used in the most dire of times when you have nothing else but a stone. I once enchanted a pebble to fr-"

"Freeze a volcano and save an entire island, I know," I finished, she never really stopped on how she had saved the world countless times.

"Exactly, so you need to start on your magic now in order to become a powerful mage," she said.

"Oh do slow down Joyce, he is still a child, let him enjoy things while he can," my grandfather said, he saw magic as more of a burden.

"Still, he needs to at least be able to enchant something properly," she replied.

"Oh very well, no need to frown, you're starting to get more crows feet than me," my grandfather said with a smirk, I giggled as my Aunt began to frown and reveal even more crows feet than before.

"I do-"

"Don't frown, you'll only make it worse," my grandfather interrupted her.

"Oh whatever, just quickly enchant something and get this lesson over with," she said, trying to lift her frown.

I picked up a pencil from the table and thought of my enchantment.

"Maybe you should try chanting? Your cousin was able to first enchant an object with it," my grandfather suggested.

"Okay then," I replied.

"Howling winds and stormy seas, I enchant this pencil to hover at ease," I said and tossed the pencil. It stayed levitating in the air for a moment, but quickly shot upwards and broke when hitting the ceiling.

"Hmm, maybe you should use something heavier," my grandfather said and picked up a pebble.

"Think small, not storms,"

My mind returned to reality as the compass began to vibrate intensely, indicating that the Nightwing was near.

"You'll do just fine, okay Moon?" I heard someone say.

'Didn't know they could talk, guess the smaller one is named Moon,' I thought as I watched two Nightwings stand near a mountain where more dragons were flying towards.

Suddenly, Moon turned around and seemed to be looking for someone.

'Wait, did she see me? No, the divine darkness makes me next to undetectable,' I thought and Moon glanced in my direction, as if she could hear something.

'Wait, how can she sense me?' I thought and Moon seemed to be more certain of where I was as I wondered how she could tell.

'Hold on, I am a cannibal and I am going to eat all dragons here,' I thought, Moon took the bait and flinched, as if shocked by what I thought of.

'Not today mind reader, not today,' I thought and sat down, still hidden and began to meditate.

Just as I suspected, Moon seemed to lose where I was and turned around, not knowing as my mind was nothing but a blank slate.

Eventually, I stopped meditating and opened my eyes to find that it was getting dark.

'Great, I hope there's at least somewhere that I can sleep,' I thought and walked towards the mountain, hoping to find the reason as to why my grandfather was studying this place.
