I arrived at the mountain by the time it was dark, dragons were snoring in their bedrooms and the hallways were empty as I walked through them silently.

I arrived at at a room with what seemed to be a library of scrolls in the shelves.

'Huh, I wonder just how advanced they are in magic,' I thought and tried to look through the scrolls to find anything that would be of interest.

'What is the title? Darn it, its too dark to read. Oh wait,' I thought and pulled out a small crystal from my pocket. It shone nearly as bright as the sun and illuminated the room to be bright enough to read comfortably.

'Never knew the divine light would be this useful,' I thought and began reading the scrolls.

Apparently they did not seem to know any form of magic and have few dragons who were capable of enchanting objects called Animus dragons.

I put back all the scrolls in place and realised that it was nearly sunrise with a Nightwing walking inside the library.

'Oh cheese sticks, I left the divine darkness on the table,' I thought and prepared to run. The Nightwing seemed to ignore me though and was preparing the library.

It was only then did I notice that his eyes had a greyish color to them.

'Huh, guess he's blind, time to get the divine darkness and get out of here,' I thought and hastily grabbed the cloth on the table and ran out of the library.

I walked around the mountain, staying at the side of the walls so as to not bump into any dragons and let them notice an invisible human in front of them.

I eventually found a place where there was an abundance of fruits and food with dragons eating and talking to one another.

I decided to watch them while eating a pineapple that I took from the fruit pile and sat down in a corner to eat it without being noticed.

It was then did I realise that the different types of dragons seemed to act differently towards each other. The Icewings generally kept their heads held high and did not like socialising with the other types. Sandwings, Nightwings, Mudwings and Rainwings seemed to get along fairly well with one another. Though one of the Seawings named Anemone was kind of rude and the Skywings were not very friendly either, especially towards Nightwings.

After I was finished eating my pineapple, a human suddenly ran into the area with an Icewing chasing it down.

'Guess I'm not the only human here,' I thought and watched as Moon was barely talking to the Icewing while keeping the human protected with her wings.

'Strange how they don't seem to immediately kill the other, maybe they are more civilised than I thought' I wondered. I walked out of the cave and through the tunnels to reach the top of the mountain and took off the divine darkness.

"Darkness again, shadows begin, enchant this cloth to be hidden again," I said and put it back on. The enchantment would make me undetectable to anything that I knew, which now includes mindreaders .

'Let's see if you can find me now, Moon,' I thought and took out a blue head band and tied it around my forehead. It glowed blue as my mind calmed down and my body felt like it we weightless.

'Please don't hit the ground hard like last time,' I told myself and jumped, testing whether the divine calm would work even after the incident.

"Viribus, don't move," my aunt said as I held onto the divine fury and looked at my mother.

"Oh shut up Joyce, you know that he is worthless, so why not end him right now?" my mother said, eyes bloodshot and holding a kitchen knife.

"Besides, all that stupid magic has done is make you all lazy like him, he can't even be bothered to fight with his bare hands. Can h-" I threw the divine fury at my mother as it hit her eye, I snatched the knife out of her hand and held it in an ice pick grip.

"You litt-" I quickly slashed the knife at her, close enough to make her back away, but not enough to touch her. I then used my left hand to pry the divine fury out of her hands using magic before she got any ideas, but my magic was too weak then.

"That stupid cousin of yours made this thing as a birthday gift for you, well he will be glad to know that it will be what kills you!" she said and placed the crystal on her right hand.

However, I had slashed her right wrist and then slashed her left hand to disable her arms and left the divine fury useless to her. I then tried to snatch the divine fury out of her hands as they were now weaker, but failed as she used her arm to wrap around my neck and hold me in place.

"Don't you dare move Joyce, or I will break his neck like a toothpick. Do you hear me?" She said and smiled, the divine fury was already taking effect. It was then that I used my knife and stabbed her in the chest.

She made a weird rasping noise and let go of me, trying to get the knife out of her chest and managed to do so, but this caused her chest cavity to fill with air and stop her breathing.

After about fifteen seconds, she fell down and lay there motionless, I looked at my hands to find them covered in her blood and thought about what she said.

"Worthless," I said and looked at the window.

"Viribus, don't try to jump. She may have said some cruel things, but you are not worthless," she said and walked towards me.

Memories of my cousin filled my head, playing around the garden, using magic to prank our neighbours, him dying from using too much of his magic.

'Why should I even stay here?' I thought and bolted towards the window, but my aunt managed to get the divine calm on me to slow down my fall as I leaped off the 8 story building.

My mind snapped back to reality and I found myself safely on the ground.

'At least it worked this time,' I thought and looked around to find a Mudwing carrying some sort of cactus into the mountain and decided to follow it.

'What is it doing?' I thought as the Mudwing hid the cactus in their cave and went on their day.

'Should I follow it? No, that might attract too much attenti-oh right, I'm invisible,' I followed the Mudwing around the mountain and found it to be a part of some sort of class called the 'Jade Winglet'.

'So they have classrooms, sucks to be them,' I thought and walked off, looking for another dragon to observe and get information about.

'Why hello there,' a voice said in my head.

'Who are you?' I asked cautiously, unsure of whether to be excited that there was something here that was capable of telepathy, or to be afraid of it.

'Someone who is not important, but I think the real question should be. What are you?' The voice asked.

'I am Viribus Lain, a mage in training, you?' I asked. Whoever was behind the voice was likely also a mindreader, but more powerful than the one I met.

'A mage? What is that? And how long have I been stuck here?' It asked.

'A mage is a being that practices magic from a source, which is the power of souls,' I replied.

'As to how long you have been stuck there, I have no clue.'

'I see, so you are an animus too?'

'I've read some scrolls and as far as what I know, I am more powerful than a mere animus. I can also enchant objects like them, but I can control my surroundings on a greater scale than you can ever imagine.'

'We'll see, but how large of a scale can you control your surroundings?'

'If I am lazy I can lift a scroll, but if I have the will to I can easily lift a boulder and throw it.'

'Interesting, so you can do this without harming your soul?'

'Not entirely, but it takes quite a fair bit of enchantments to really damage my soul. Besides, I can use other souls for my magic anyway.'

'So you can use your magic, essentially without any cost?' The voice asked, it seemed surprised if a voice in your head could have a tone.

'If I can find enough souls, yes.' I replied, I knew that I had to think fast to shield myself from whoever this creep was.

I quickly held the divine darkness in my hands and started my enchantment.

'Animus and rain, torture and pain, shield me from all view again,' I thought, enchanting the divine darkness once again from all animus dragons just to be safe. He asked if I was an animus 'too' which means that he must've also been an animus, as to which one, I have no clue.

'Okay, you will have to find out what in the world that voice was and find the source. If I can find out what it is then I should be able to stop it from being a threat to me.'

I walked around and found the Icewing from earlier, Winter was his name if I remember correctly. He was talking to a SandWing, Qibli was his name.

They were talking about the Nightwing from earlier and the Sandwing seemed to imply her and Winter being together.

'Nice, I approve of this,' I thought and took out my notebook.

'Moonter? No. Winterwatcher' I wrote in the notebook. I knew that they were polar opposites, a Icewing with an infinite ego and pride and a shy Nightwing with both of the species seeming to have a hatred for each other.

'Oh well, guess I should check Moon now.'
