"Oh my goooddd, that took way too long," Dolor said as she sat on a chair in the library and fell asleep with her head on the table.

Dolor and I had been spending the last few hours explaining to Tsunami and Glory about us and our powers to them, luckily they will be making an announcement the next day about our presence and let us answer more questions that others may have at once so that we don't have to keep explaining.

'Well, looks like she's out. Maybe there is a scroll somewhere here that would be more interesting,' I thought and set the divine darkness back down and looked around. The library was empty for some reason and it was completely quiet which made it perfect for me to read scrolls, specifically one on the history of magic.

The scroll had information about how magic was used before animus dragons were really around or when they didn't realise that they were animus dragons as their magic was regarded as a glitch from other forms of magic. One way that they used magic was runes which used symbols that could be written on almost any surface, they can only grant someone basic spells like a protection spell that doesn't allow anyone else to enter, even if you gave permission. A sleep spell that keeps one in a state of sleep forever with no way of waking up anyone in the perimeter and even a prison spell that would forever trap someone within a given space once they entered.

'Most of these rune spells are pretty flawed, maybe the Magnus Codex could explain it better?' I though and looked at Dolor. She was sound asleep and the only person I knew who had that book.

'Maybe I could try enchanting it so that I could read the Latin words? That might work, but maybe I could ask her later or ask her to teach me magic theory since it seems like it could be useful,' I thought and continued to read the scroll, it stated more and more spells that one could cast using runes.

'Just about all of these spells are really flawed compared to enchantments which you can be very specific with and make them the way you want. It's no wonder that dragons don't use runes anymore since they are so dangerous and flawed.'

After reading the book for a while more, I got tired of reading more and more flawed spells which left me wondering if dragons even used these things in the first place, until I saw one spell in particular.

'Necromancy. When six runes are used in a hexagon shape, the energy from the runes are capable of allowing someone to commune with the dead and if enough energy is used, they can even be brought back.' I read, runes would allow me to get my cousin back without turning me into an insane person which would let me see him again. Even if I don't have enough energy to bring him back, I will still have a chance at communicating with him and maybe he would know how to get more energy to bring himself back.

'However, the user must be the most powerful being in the world, if they are not and try to perform this spell, they will be pulled in with the dead and forever be impossible to return even if someone were to perform the necromancy spell on them...'

'The most powerful being in the world is most certainly not me, and it would most likely be the Ion Mage which may not even exist for a couple of centuries and even if they did, they may not agree to do this spell given how dangerous it is with either my tactics or using runes.' I thought and pinched the bridge of my nose. Right when there was a silver of hope, I lost the chance to get my cousin back again.

'Why does this happen to me?' I thought and sat down on the floor, I tossed the scroll back onto the shelf and thought about what happened today. I was sifting through my thoughts and eventually fell asleep after about an hour.

"Viribus"

"What?" I asked.

"..."

"Who are you?"

"..."

"Where am I?"

"..."

Suddenly, a the area was lit up with a bright flash of light, I couldn't make out any details other than a Nightwing that was larger than any other dragons I have seen in the mountain and seemed to be trapped underground.

"He is Darkstalker. He will be key to your transformation."

"Who said that?"

"..."

"Stop hiding and just reveal yourself already."

"..."

The area had another flash of bright light and this time, I could see a figure in a teal cloak, it was glowing cyan and its hands seemed to be in a position as if it were holding a large pole, but had nothing there.

"This is you."

"What? How is this me? How did I become like this?"

The figure in the cloak then turned to me, it had my face and seemed to have my curly hair, but it was glowing cyan and my eyes were no longer their usual brown and instead, glowed cyan like my hair. I then looked at the arms, it had my bracelet which was no longer brown and it wasn't glowing cyan like everything else about me, but was glowing a dark indigo just like Dolor's magic.

"Say the worlds 'discite Latine' and you shall be granted this form."

"This is you, for you have become-"

"Viribus, Viribus!" Dolor shouted, waking me up from my dream.

"Wha-what is it Dolor?" I asked groggily, I wanted to go back to sleep to find out what that dream was telling me.

"It's more than an hour past sunrise here, we need to go and explain who we are to the rest of the school."

"Oh fine, but next time you wake me up, make sure you have a cup of coffee to keep me awake," I said as I stretched my arms and walked with Dolor to meet the rest of the dragons in the school.

'Why hello there', A strange voice said he my head.

'Wait, how did you ge-oh right, I'm not wearing the divine darkness,' I thought and reached into my bag to try and get it.

'Wait! Before you try to shut me out, I must ask you something.'

'I'm not telling you anything unless you tell me about yourself,' I said.

'Well, as flattering as it would be for you to hear about me, I'm not sure if I would want to agree to that.'

'Then I won't let you hear any of my thoughts, Quid pro quo; something for something,' I told him and started to put on the divine darkness.

'Okay! Okay! I'll tell you about me, my name is Darkstalker and I am a Nightwing. Now I know you must be wondering why I can speak to you since this is probably not an ability of Nightwings have.'

'Actually, I was wondering why your ego is larger than a-'

'Is because I am also an animus Nightwing, and I have enchanted myself to not just be able to communicate with people telepathically, but also to have the ability to live forever,' he said proudly.

'And yet you're buried underground as if you are dead.'

'Hang on, how did you know I was underground?' Darkstalker asked.

'I just know, now, since you're immortal, I am very curious as to whether you can have your soul extracted and be an infinite source?'

'What are you talking abou-' I quickly put on the divine darkness and cut myself off from him.

"Why do you wear that thing?" Dolor asked.

"It's called the divine darkness, it hides me from just about anything, though I don't see how you were able to find me though."

"Location spell," Dolor said and pulled her hand up to create a small arrow that was pointing at me.

"Depending on what I am trying to locate, the location spell can require anything from a toad's eye or just waving of the hands to locate someone and the closer thing is, the easier it is to perform the spell," Dolor explained and waved her hands to make the arrow disappear.

"I have something similar, it's a compass enchanted to find anything I want and does not need anything as weird as a toad's eye to work."

"Well, guess that old geezer did teach you some tricks."

"Yours aren't half bad, I still don't know how to do a transmutation spell."

"Wow, strange how he didn't teach you the basics."

"He mostly taught me how to chant and enchant objects, but that was about it."

"Wait, so he didn't teach you any spells?"

"Nope, it was all about enchanting."

"Odd, enchanting is considered to be one of the most high level ways a someone can use their magic and requires encyclopaedic knowledge of magic theory. Yet you have been doing it since you were young?"

"Pretty much."

"That's pretty weird,"Dolor said as we finally arrived and went to where Tsunami and Glory was.

The other students gave us odd looks and one of the Icewings, Winter, was looking at us as if we were some sort of pet being put on display.

'I can't believe that stupid Icewing.'

"Hello everyone, my name is Dolor and this is Viribus. I we are an animal called humans and I am known as a witch, a female human born with magical abilities," Dolor said and started to use what looked like a transmutation spell on a stone she conjured and turned it into a frog which immediately hop out of her hand and tried to go off-stage.

"Viribus is a mage, a person who studies and practices magic," Dolor said as I prepared my bracelet to use all the elementals that I knew. I managed to create a sphere of fire that quickly froze over with ice and then was melted into a sphere of water and used some rocks nearby to create soil that would mix with the water to create mud, and then made it dry up and turn into sand which blew away in the wind.

"He can basically control a lot of things with his magic, now, any questions?" Dolor asked, a few dragons raised their talons.

"You, the Icewing, what is your question?" I said.

"Why do you look like a scavenger and how do you know dragon?"

"Because scavengers are inferior versions of us that don't know dragon," Dolor replied.

"You, the Nightwing beside the Mudwing."

"Can you read minds or see into the future?"

"Well, we can enchant things to read minds or maybe perform a spell to do so, but we aren't that good yet so for now we can't, same goes for seeing into the future."

"Alright, the Sandwing over there! What's your question?" Dolor asked, I recognised the Sandwing as Qibli.

"Just out of curiosity, but 'witch' one of you can 'mage' better decisions?" He asked, barely able to hold back a laugh.

'Oh my god he didn't,' I thought and snorted at his pun.

"I-wha-how-you know what? You're dead to me."

"I'm the one who can 'mage' better decisions in case you were wondering," I said and got a nudge in the ribs from Dolor.

"Alright then, any more questions?" Dolor asked, one dragon raised their talon but Dolor seemed to focus on that dragon and make their talon go down.

"No? Good, we will probably be in the library if for some reason you all want to find us, goodbye." Dolor said and walked away.

"Is she insane?" A the blind Nightwing from the library, I think his name was Starflight, asked me.

"Probably, but I'm not quite sure with what goes on in her head."

I followed her towards the library, but we were stopped by a small Rainwing who was practically jumping off the walls with a shy Seawing following it.

"Hi there! My name is Kinkajou and I have so many questions for you! What is it like to learn magic? Can you teach me? Do you have any enchanted objects? Can you enchant like an animus?" She asked excitedly.

"Didn't know dragons here did fairy dust," Dolor muttered.

"Well fine, we'll explain it to you."
