"So you do like Mangoes, I told you they would like it Turtle!" Kinkajou shouted, my eardrums felt like they were about to burst and my eyes gave up trying to track her movements.

'Either dragons are an infinite energy source, or I'm an old man. Oh wait, I absorbed my grandfather's soul...guess that explains it.'

"Yes, some of us like mangoes, now could you please excuse us as we need to head for the library," Dolor said, she looked like she was about to collapse from trying to keep up with Kinkajou and had to use her magic a lot to demonstrate to Kinkajou.

"Alright then, could we be friends too? I know some people who love to be friends with me like Moon, Turtle's a bit shy but he's fine, and Qibli is pretty good with his jokes."

"Umm, maybe we can all meet each other later, and yes we can be friends now begone daemon!" I said and snapped my fingers to send Kinkajou to the other side of the cave facing the wall while me and Dolor quietly made it to the library.

"Okay...I don't know what you are thinking but can we just realise what you were doing earlier?" Dolor said.

"What do you mean?"

"Well, there's the fact that daemon means demon in Latin and used a transportation spell with a snap of your fingers? I thought you said that you didn't know Latin and a transportation spell is next to impossible for someone to cast without chanting, you said that you still needed to chant so what's up with that?"

"I don't know...daemon just came naturally and even I am not sure how I was able to perform that transportation spell, my grandfather never taught me it."

"Wait, so you not only suddenly know a word in Latin that is next to never used and don't need to chant to cast spells?" Dolor said, she seemed to be connecting the dots but couldn't quite see the picture.

"Maybe it's nothing, or it's somehow related to runes," I replied.

"Wait, how are runes involved?"

"Well, while you were sleeping, I was reading a scroll about the history of dragon magic and one of the things that they used was runes."

"That is disturbing, runes in my world are known as one of the darkest forms of magic known to exist. They work by drawing energy from hatred of other creatures and malicious intents, this power is often leaked from evil or being of hatred. As it is leaked into the world, runes act as a sponge to absorb this hatred and convert it into magic, but one must be careful as these runes can be so powerful that one small stroke in your symbol can determine whether you have a healing spell, or a curse. Normally runes aren't used unless a last resort when magic is disabled by a protection spell as they are technically not the users magic but the hatred that is being focused to destabilise magic."

"It's a pretty weird gray area in magic."

"Well, then it's no wonder that runes are no longer used in this world, but does it harm the user directly other than a wrong spell?"

"Surprisingly no, runes act like a sponge meaning that the area's around them actually have less hatred than usual and can actually be used to protect someone from a curse that involves hatred, the other things about them are much easier to explain once you know magic theory."

"Okay, then teach me," I said, Dolor's eyes widened and looked at me as if I had lost my mind.

"When you say teach you, you mean all of magic theory?"

"Yup, every chapter and spell."

"..."

"You've definitely lost your mind."

"Oh it can't be that hard, how many spells would I have to learn anyway."

"It's not just learning some spells, you need to know about the different forms of magic and how their properties, Alchemy to know the properties of certain materials with magic, potion making using ingredients that are definitely not in this world, study many magical beings, and learn what mana is. It would take me decades to teach you magic theory at best, if I were to give you more details and help you master half of the fields, it will probably take a century or two."

"It's THAT much?"

"Absolutely, I could teach you a few things but nothing much if you don't want to spend two decades buried in ancient books."

"Alright then, guess we start now?"

"Alright, but I'm only giving you a run-through on simple spells and that's it. Kinkajou drained enough of my energy for today," Dolor replied as she plopped herself on the floor when we reached the library.

"Got any books we could use?"

"Aside from the Magnus Codex, not really. All of my notes are stored in the most secure place which is here," Dolor said and pointed to her head.

I sat down beside her and used my mind to grab the scroll about the history of magic used by dragons and passed it to Dolor.

"Does this thing make any sense to you?" I asked as Dolor picked up the scroll with her magic and hovered it in the air for her to read.

"Somewhat, they don't know magic theory so they don't really know how to explain it well but I can roughly translate it. I'm surprised that there is no Latin though since it is a key to chanting well and is often what most spells are written in since trying to do it in English could cause weird things with paper."

"They don't really have any chanting here and spells are not here since the only beings capable of using them are animus dragons which is still not documented since they are still quite rare."

"Yeah, well this is nothing new to me aside from finally knowing what happens when lizards learn magic."

"Okay then, maybe we could start on how to make a protection spell?"

"Sure," Dolor replied and sat up, she began explaining how to chant the words and the wave of the hands that would start the spell.

"Now try it, but without chanting," Dolor said, I moved my hands like she told me and focused my magic on it. A brown veil suddenly appeared around me and slowly expanded until it hit the walls of the library to cover it in a hazel glow.

"Nice, seems like you really don't need to chant to use your spells. This will save us a lot of time," she said and smiled, I was about to reply but heard a faint hissing sound.

"Do you hear that? It almost sounds like there is some sort of firework about to go o-"

"BOOM!"

An explosion came from one of the walls of the library and as the walls came crumbling down and the scrolls flew around ignited by fire like some sort of fiery rain. But before any of the debris could touch anyone, the hazel glow of the walls encapsulated me and Dolor along with the other dragons in the library as the scrolls landed and made the place look like it was hell recreated but I seemed to be able to walk through it just fine without feeling any pain.

"Dolor! Are you okay?" I shouted.

"I'm fine worrywart, did you forget that my mother made me fireproof and immortal?" She shouted and kicked some debris away, only to have one of the shelves fall on top of her.

"I am beginning to hate libraries."

"We should see if there is anyone else, they might be hurt," I said and looked around to find some burning figured running away.

"Don't worry, that protection spell that you cast contained most of the explosion along with protecting any nearby dragons from being too badly hurt and if the spell is still active then it should also heal them."

"Okay then, but we should get out of here," I said as I went to Dolor to put and arm around her and helped her out of the fire.

'Why does it smell like lavender? Does she use perfume of that kind? Darn it Viribus focus, you're trying to help a witch out of a fire, not find out what perfume she uses,' I thought and focused on getting her out of the fire.

We managed to get past all the debris and made it out of the library to find some dragons gathered outside that looked at us with hatred.

"Why did you burn down the whole library? You could have hurt so many dragons and endangered the lives of DRAGONETS who did nothing to you," Starflight said with his back on me.

"You know your back is facing me, right?"

"Sorry, but why would you do such a thing?"

"Simple, we didn't, and don't even think about saying that we are lying. Viribus and I was busy casting a protection spell as practice which made there barely any casualties and the few casualties are HEALING thanks to the spell, if anything we are helping those and we didn't do it." Dolor explained.

"If you didn't do it then who did?" Starflight asked, but before Dolor could answer, Moon was running down the hallway to find that the explosion had already happened.

'Moon, if you saw this was about to happen blink twice.'

Moon blinked twice as her friends came along to find the destruction that had happened to the library.

'Looks like that didn't end well,' Darkstalker said.

'Damn it, how are you back?'

'You took off whatever was sheilding you from me so here I am to ask more question-'

'I am not answering anything else, so vale daemon,' I thought and focused on my magic to enchant my bracelet to shelled me from him.

"Moon, how did you know this was going to happen?" Qibli asked Moon.

'How much do they know?' I asked Moon, but she gave me a look that said nothing, but I knew that they were suspicious of Moon's abilities.

Before I could even react to her, her eyes suddenly seemed to be staring at something right in front of here even though nothing was there and began to speak in a voice that did not sound like Moon.
