Hello everyone! Hope you all are doing fine! So, back to the point of my sudden appearance; Here I present *Drum Roll*, a very very belated birthday gift for,
Red Eyes of Fate (Nain) and Black Eilla (Nia)!
Many many happy returns of your (Belated) Birthday, Naina di and Nia! Hope you two get all the happiness and success you want in your life! So sorry for this late birthday gift from your sister, but what to do, I was so busy to find time to post this. I had completed this gift on the exact day of 6th, but just couldn't upload it.
Dear Naina di, When compared to your KaneSals, this fic is seriously nothing. Yet I tried my best to write it properly and in the best way I can. Hope you'd like it! Thanks a lot for being one of my sweetest sisters on FFN! Had you not been there, I guess I would have never remembered that KaneSal was one of my fav pairings years back (Yeah, I loved them so much but my interest in them faded off, thanks to Nain di that I started loving them again when I joined this site).
Dear Nia, though we don't know each other much, yet I want to present this gift to you. Hope you will enjoy reading it! Willing to be even closer to you in future! Hope we'd interact more from now on! Good to know someone like you here!
So, with the fic details, this is a two-shot;
Genre: Hurt/Comfort, Angst, Romance, Tragedy.
Warnings: Implied inter**rse (Nothing graphical, people, just implied, you have to understand yourself when it had happened XD), Suicide attempt, Blood, Misunderstandings, Alcohol/Cigarette consumption, tears and lots of tears (Wait, it has to be mentioned?) etc.
Occurrence: Canonical Universe.
Pairings: KaneSal
Disclaimer: I don't own Beyblade, but the plot is mine. The lyrics inserted are the English translation of the Hindi song- "Chor Denge", which is no way owned by me.
One more thing, at a point, you might think that Salima is portrayed negatively, but you'd realize the truth once the events enroll, so no Flames, guys! The ending in the next part would be fair and fine! Now, let's get started! Sit back and enjoy!
-VELOX THE DRAGON KNIGHT
~Since I'm Over With You~
(Part 1/2)
Languid cool breezes blew against the face of the twenty two year old, as he walked through the streets of Bakuten, surely in haste. Sweat beads rolled down his fair forehead and smeared on his perfect jaw line, cascading down to glide through his Adam's apple, and on the collar bones until it finally touched the periwinkle colored shirt he wore, and got absorbed in it.
The Azure hair- spiky, unruly yet clean and combed clinged onto his sweaty forehead and nape of his neck; falling above the deep Azure eyes. A pair of red sports shoes and light blue denim jeans covered his lower body, while a black travel bag was hanging through his shoulders.
"I gotta be fast!" Kane Yamashita, a Medicine UG in the second year of his University, yelled to none other than himself as he broke into a run towards his University. Had his KTM Duke not broken down, he would have been at the university exhibition well before time.
Just as he kept on running on the concrete footpath, a shrill voice, which was sweet and calm yet panicked and angry at the same time, rang his tympanic membranes.
"Please… I don't have any other option… Help me…" The girl pleaded whilst talking to someone on the phone.
Through the turn on the left, a girl turned on the same path through which Kane was running. She was walking slowly, with ragged and tired footsteps dragging through the concrete footpath. And that's when the Azure eyes fell on her for the first time.
Kane stopped in his tracks, his wide eyes staring at the girl, who was meters away from him, yet he saw her and to his own dismay, recognized her as well. His once fast and steady feet, which were running through the streets, now became weak and numb as they began to tremble, barely able to support his body up.
His chapped lips began to quiver, as a knot formed in his throat, wanting to burst at any instant. After so many years did he experience the lack of energy and strength inside his body; not because his body was weak, but because his heart was.
The girl, twenty two she seemed, was far busy tossing a stone with her feet whilst walking to even raise her head up from the footpath and look in front. When she was talking on the phone, desperately pleading to the other person on the line, she got nothing but was yelled upon and the call was rejected.
As she walked, her chapped yet rosy lips pressed in a thin line, Kane could see the rued, dismal and remorseful aura surrounding her- the aura which was slowly bounding him into chains of pain and sorrow as well.
The Onyx eyes welled up with tears as the fair and petite hand of the girl raised up to wipe away the tears. The blood-red scarlet locks fell above her eyes as her head was still lowered, hiding the Onyx orbs and their tears from the shocked Azure eyes; while the hair were tied in a loose ponytail dropping till her waist.
Her hands were folded above her chest, which was covered in a lavender flared summer dress falling above her knees, accompanied by a black leather purse hanging from her right shoulder. The calloused feet were visible through her black wedge heels, as she kept on kicking the stone as if taking out all her anxiety and sorrow on it, bit by bit coming near the Blue-haired, who was still shocked to no ends.
Kane gulped all the fear building up inside his heart, the fear of the past days, fear of being back stabbed, fear of almost losing the love of his life. "No…" The quavering whisper echoed in his vocal cords, as more sweat rolled down his face, but this time, the sweat was of remorse and fear.
Finally, the head of the girl approaching, who was now three to four meters away, raised up and the Azures collided with the Onyx eyes.
Silence met the two. The street was busy with people walking by, cycles crossing alongside other vehicles; yet no sound entered the ears of the two. They were so lost in melting into each other's gaze that even a thunder shock could not make them look away.
The thirst of three years it was after all, how come the two halves of one soul, the Azure and the Onyx orbs be stopped from entwining into one? When five minutes passed by without a blink of their eyelids, Kane and Salima couldn't help but lower their gazes to their feet.
In those past five minutes, the memories of their old days, the memories of their friendship and love, the memories of… their heartbreak, all of it deluged upon them as a flood. No matter how happy they were to meet each other after three years, the sorrow, grief and hurt of what happened earlier surpassed the happiness.
Despite having a broken heart, I was taught to smile and keep walking;
Your betrayal has taught me to be cautious.
Raising their heads up again after taking a long breathe, the steps of both the disrupted hearts descended along their paths. No matter how much Kane chided himself not to look into the Onyx eyes again, his heart didn't obey him.
The Azures collided with the Onyx orbs again, and much to his bewilderment and unwillingness, the girl was staring right at his eyes, waiting for him to look at her.
The pleading expression on her face, the guilt and remorse, all of it made Kane to surrender and want to capture her in a tight hug and yell out loudly that he has forgotten about the past and wants to move on, that he is no longer upset or angry at her, that each and every day of his life was useless in these last three years; but he just… couldn't do so.
The shock on Kane's face, alongside the hurt and sorrow, all this made Salima feel even guiltier. She felt like falling into an imaginary black hole, where she could be away from Kane, just to not view this fear-stricken and hurt expression on his face. But, it has occurred just because of her. Had she not taken that step three years ago, maybe they would've been spending their lives in peace.
She wanted to fall on her knees and press her forehead on his shoes, just to yell out that it was all her fault and that she never intended to do it, that she had fretted so much ever since then, that her life had been meaningless for the last three years, but something inside her just… stopped her to do so.
Ragged footsteps dragged along the footpath, scuffling slowly as the Azures and the Onyx orbs didn't break the eye contact even a bit.
When they crossed each other side by side, their eyes lowered again, and none mustered the courage to stop and try to come up with something. They just walked past each other. Not before waking a meter away with the other on their backs, the heart wrenching urge to just turn around and look at the other of at least once strangled their hearts.
Since you've been fed up with me, I'm going to break all relationships.
The day I become your habit, I will leave you on the same day.
Kane can't handle it any longer. Shutting his eyes tightly to stop the tears brimming to flow out, he remembered all the moments they spent together. No matter how beautiful their relation was, it ended up being the biggest mistake Kane ever did- To fall in love with Salima.
Listening to his heart, Kane decided to turn around, just to see whether Salima was still the selfish lover he had committed his life to. But, the moment he turned around, he saw her standing right there, looking at him pleadingly, her eyes already brimming with tears. He couldn't help the barrier of emotions inside his heart now, which was already pushed off to the limits.
'What is the use of crying now?' The bitter memories took over the love for her inside his heart, 'You had been nothing but a selfish lover, you used me to pleasure yourself, you became an obstacle in the way of my dream, you tried to kill me… You were never a characterless girl, neither are you now, but you surely were selfish. I know I wasn't able to give you time out of my schedule, but it didn't mean I never loved you, Sal… I wish I would have paid more heed to you, just to not lose the pure and loyal Salima I had…'
Shutting his eyes tightly so as to not look at her anymore, Kane turned around and dashed off into a run, without turning around for once. The tears slipped out of his eyes endlessly, as he ran away, far away so as to leave behind the horrific past, but had he actually move one with all what happened?
Neither will I let you laugh, nor cry in peace;
I will visit you in your thoughts, and not let you sleep.
You're not going to be able to trust someone else,
I'm going to break your heart that terribly.
The tears started flowing out of the Onyx eyes when they witnessed their lover run away so heartlessly. Salima couldn't help but fall on her knees and bury her face in her palms, just to cry her heart out.
"I wish I could tell you… that I didn't have any other option…" She sobbed endlessly, abandoned, desolated, "The only reason I returned Japan is to find you… and when I did so, you just… ran away?"
Since you've been fed up with me, I'm going to break all relationships.
The day I become your habit, I will leave you on the same day.
'I know I've hurt you,' Her mind wandered into darkness, 'But it wasn't intentional. Kane, you have always tolerated me, won't you even give me a chance to clear off the misunderstanding, if not to accept me?'
FLASHBACK (Three Years Ago)
On the neatly made bed, the nineteen year old scarlet-haired girl was sitting, her face stuffed into a pillow kept on her knees. Curling up into a ball, Salima nearly suffocated herself when the door to her room opened and inside came the Azure-haired guy.
Kane's eyes widened in surprise at once; the sound of muffled cries and wailings entered his ears, which belonged to the Onyx-eyed lover of his. Her face was stuffed into the pillow, muffling the sobs to an extent, yet they were audible, making Kane wonder how hard she might be crying.
"S-Sal…?" Kane stammered, his heart twisting inside his chest as if he himself was hurt rather than the red-head.
Each hair on her body stood up in shock as Salima flinched, her face finally rising up from the pillow. She was so absorbed in her cries that she didn't even hear her lover coming inside the room. Now Kane surely couldn't hold back the grief when he saw the bloodshot and rheumy Onyx eyes, accompanied by dark circles and a rather pale skin of his girlfriend.
"What's wrong, Sal?" Kane came near the bed, and sat down slowly in front of Salima, his eyes brimming with concern and determination to wipe off the cause of her wailings.
"I-I…" Salima stuttered, her breath caught in her throat due to the sobs.
"Hey, calm down," Kane rubbed her back soothingly and gave her a glass of water from the table beside. "Don't stress yourself. Tell me, what is it?"
"You…" Salima whispered still stammering due to the lack of air as Kane listened closely, "Do you love me?"
Kane surely didn't expect to hear something like that. Salima surely knew he did, they had been together for two years now, but why was she asking this now? That too when she was crying?
"Of course I do." Kane said, his face frowning in concern, "What's with the sudden interrogation, Sal. You know I love you and only you."
"B-but," Salima sniffled, "It doesn't seem so. We have been living together for a month, Kane. And you just… don't bother about me a bit…"
Kane flinched, he knew she was right. He was so busy preparing for an entrance exam to get admission in a medical university that he barely talked to Salima about how her day went by. It wasn't like he didn't like to talk to her, it was just that due to his determination, he forgets that he has other obligations too.
"Hey, it's not like that, Sal." Kane cupped both her cheeks with his rough palms, "I never mean to hurt you, you know? I just am not that type of guy to act all gushy mushy-"
"Just because you don't care!" Salima cut him off, shoving away his hands at once as she lowered her face. All her weakness seemed to fade away as she just yelled at him, her heart shattering into pieces, "You don't care about me, Kane. You remain busy all day long, locked in your room studying. I don't want to force you to talk to me all day long, all I want is to just be reminded that I am loved by you."
"What's the need of reminding you?" Kane asked, anger bubbling up though he knew Salima wasn't wrong here, "Don't you know that already?"
Glaring at him, Salima seethed, "The only thing a girl wants is to be loved, Kane! I just want you to talk to me only once a day, if not more. I know how you are, and I love you for that only; but can't you just be a bit more romantic…?"
Biting his lower lip, Kane grasped both her wrists in his hands, and in one swift motion, Salima was pinned on the bed with Kane hovering above her. Her heart started beating a million times faster as Kane's chapped lips crashed on her rosy ones into a soft loving kiss.
Leaving both her wrists, Kane cupped her cheeks, as Salima could feel her eyes getting closed automatically. Her hands found their way up his neck as her fingers entwined in the lush locks on his nape. Opening her mouth, Salima allowed Kane to deluge all his love through his tongue gliding against hers.
Slithering and moving their tongues together, they both tasted each and every corner of each other's mouth. Dropping his hands down around her waist, Kane sat up and pulled Salima along him, and the latter straddled him while sitting on his thighs, both her legs around his. Her grip around his neck tightened and Kane slid and twirled his hands on the fair skin of Salima's back, which was exposed through the lavender tank top she wore.
His hands moved upwards to her back and nape, again sliding down to her waist, soothing each cell of her body, and setting a fire inside her at the same time. The battle of tongues stopped, so did the Oxygen supply as both the teenagers had to part away, just to rest their foreheads upon the others'.
Azures and Onyx orbs collided as both of them opened their eyes together. Their hot breaths tingled each and every cell of their faces. In the only source of light, the dim lamp beside the bed, the couple continued another round of passionate kissing.
Parting away, Kane whispered huskily, staring right into her eyes, "I love you Salima, more than my own life. Don't ever doubt this again…"
"I love you too, Kane…"
Their hands passionately roamed over each other's bodies, as Salima unbuttoned Kane's red checks shirt. Her eyes bulged out of her sockets on viewing the toned abs and broad chest, something she never quite noticed from such a proximate angle. When she was mesmerized by his masculine charm, Kane too couldn't stop his hands from moving from her waist to under her breasts.
When Salima felt his fingers glide until there, she took her eyes off his chest and locked them with his Azures. In another swift motion, Kane's lips were now on Salima's collar bones, as he planted butterfly kisses there, earning a moan from his lover.
His hands didn't dare to move above their position from under her breasts. But when Salima made him part away from her beauty bones, she whispered to him, in the yearning and seductive voice Kane had never heard, "Do what you have never done to me…"
"What…?" Kane surely didn't realize the hidden meaning in his lover's pleas.
"I want you…" Salima whispered, burying her face in his chest, her face burning punch pink, just like Kane's.
"Are you ready for this?" Kane gulped, "I don't want this if you don't consent."
"You have full consent, love." Salima mumbled, her hot breaths tickling his chest, "Do whatever you want, and show me that you actually love me…"
The lamp too went off, as in the night, the two lovers deluged all their love to each other. Their passion and yearning collided with each other, so did their love for the other. They were connected to another level, taking their love to an eternal stage, committing themselves to each other.
Though maybe, the beauty and passion of this moment, when they promised to never leave each other, didn't last for long.
…
"Hey Kane?" Salima cooed, her face having lines of concern and anxiety, "Are you feeling alright?"
She entered the room, a tray with a bowl of hot porridge in her hands, and neared the bed, upon which her boyfriend was lying, concealed under a blanket. Keeping the tray on a table aside, Salima sat on the edge of the bed, as the Azure eyes looked at her when Kane opened his eyes weakly, realizing her presence just now.
"Are you feeling better?" Salima whispered, brushing her soft fingertips on the forehead, temple and cheeks of the Azure-haired guy.
"Yeah…" Kane whispered, the voice coming out cracked up and weak, "My abdomen is aching badly…"
Salima bit her lower lip, a sign of her being anxious. Kane just smiled looking at her face, feeling lucky to have such a possessive girlfriend. Chuckling weakly, he said, "Don't worry about me, Sal. I'd be fine."
But he didn't seem to be getting better. It had been a week since the moment both the Blue and red-haired lovers had made out, and ever since then, they had been chaste until now. The only reason being the sheer pain in Kane's abdomen, which strike him time to time. Salima surely was growing anxious for him more every time he gets one of those pain-attacks.
They used to snuggle in bed together, embracing each other and falling asleep together. But all this never soothed the throbbing pain Kane was going through, though he rarely showed any seriousness for this weird behavior of his stomach.
Salima made Kane sit with his back straight against the pillows on the bed rest. Taking the bowl in her hands, she fed him with the spoon clasped in her fingers, lovingly making him eat all of the porridge and chiding him to do so just like a mother.
Kane had fallen asleep with his head placed on her lap, as she caressed his forehead and hair with all the affection in her heart. Watching the serene face of her boyfriend, Salima felt a bit relieved that at least he is having a nice sleep. Maybe he would recover soon.
Or maybe not?
…
Three more days passed by the same. Salima was in the kitchen, making a vegetable curry as she kept on mixing the contents inside the wok. Humming a tune of her favorite song, she remembered the love of her life, as the romantic slow song reminded her of none other than Kane. It was raining heavily outside, with the vigorous rain drops crashing on the glass pane of the window in the kitchen.
"The weather is quite bad," Salima said to herself, "I hope Kane returns soon."
Kane had gone to the hospital for a checkup, when he was nagged by Salima to do so. Salima too wanted to accompany, but due to a presentation in her Law University today, she was not able to go with Kane.
"Ting Tong! Ting Tong!"
The girl squealed in excitement and relief as she exited the kitchen and sprinted off to the main door. Unlocking it impatiently, she opened it up, and the Onyx orbs went widened with shock and worry as her eyes fell of her lover, completely drenched in the heavy rain.
"Kane!" Salima gasped, "You are so wet! I asked you to go get your health better and you are trying to worsen it?"
Hurrying inside, Salima brought a towel in no time. As soon as she returned, she saw Kane standing inside with the door already closed. His face was lowered down, the blue locks of hair soaked and dripping with the water.
"Kane?" Salima placed a hand on his shoulder, "Take thi-"
Her hand was shoved off at once as she stared at her boyfriend with shock. Kane lifted his face up, and Salima surely regretted looking in his eyes. Hatred is what she saw. Hurt, regret and anger- all what she had witnessed bubbling up inside Kane when he was possessed by the Cyber bit beast.
"You…" Kane scowled, glaring at the red-haired, "What made you be so selfish… that you gave me poison?"
Thunder echoed outdoors, as well as inside the ears of the Onyx-eyed. Poison? What made Kane say that? Why would she give poison to the only person she can rely on? The only love of her life?
"What do you mean…?" Salima asked as her lips quivered, her brain not understanding a bit of Kane's words.
"Acting all innocent, aren't you?" Kane clenched his teeth, seething through them, "What had you been mixing in my food since last ten days, eh? Ambrosia? I don't think it would have caused me to become half-dead. Now, the left out option is Poison only."
Her eyes welled up as Salima's legs wobbled, "Wh-What are you saying? Why would I do that to you, Kane?"
"Exactly," Kane breathed heavily, "Why would you do that? No, why did you do that?"
"I did what, Kane?" She pressed her forehead in her palms, whimpering.
"You are the one who had been preparing all my meals, Salima." Kane growled in his ragged breaths, "I don't get it, why were you adding that slow poison in it?"
Reality and truth came crashing on her. Salima could feel her vocal cords burst with regret and remorse. Stumbling over to the kitchen, she opened a drawer and clasped a small glass bottle in her hands, and came back to Kane with her trembling steps.
"You…" She gasped for air as she prevented the knot formed in her throat to burst out with regret, "You mean this?"
Showing the brown glassed bottle to a shocked and hurt Kane, Salima shut her eyes tightly. Azures widened in shock as Kane stammered due to the lack of air, "So… I was right? You had been adding this slow poison in my food…"
"No…" Salima whimpered, her eyes begging to burst out the tears, "You are taking it wrong…"
"What made you do that, Sal?" Kane looked at her with the broken and downtrodden look in his Azure eyes, "This is slow poison, something which would have killed me had I eaten another meal of this today… I know I was not the romantic kind of boyfriend…" Kane gulped, preventing the tears to flow out, "But I never despised or cheated on you… Then what made you take this step of killing me?"
"No!" Salima cried out in regret, her lips quivering, "I would never try to harm you, Kane! It was my stupidity! When Zoey asked me to add this supplement in your food for your better health, for the sharpening of your eyesight which had been weakening due to your long study hours, I believed him at once and thought to give this to you-"
The girl never got to complete her words as Kane cut off her words. His eyes blazed with the anger and hate which Salima had seen only when he was battling with the Cyber Dragoon beyblade, "SO THAT'S ALL ABOUT THAT ZOEY?!"
Salima gasped, as Kane yelled at her, "I knew it! That Zoey, who have had a crush on you when we were in high school, he despised me so much! And, had I known about your forbidden and dirty love with him, I would have never actually confessed my feelings for you!"
"You are getting it wrong, Kane!" Salima cried out as finally the tears escaped her eyes, "I don't have any affair with him, Kane! The only guy I could think of is you!"
"That's it! I've had it!" Kane yelled out, "Cheating on my back, when you can't handle the dirty deeds of yours, you decided to kill me alongside that bastard Zoey?! And… you even slept with me despite having another affair? How cheap, Sal, how cheap! Now I know why you were so desperate that night, just to use my love for pleasuring you carnal desires-"
"STOP IT!" Salima clutched her ears tightly, as she dropped on her knees, Onyx eyes shedding the streams of never-ending tears, "I love you, Kane! How dare you think so cheap of me! I never thought you'd doubt me this way! The only thing cheap are your thoughts and allegations, Kane!"
That was it; as soon as the words escaped her mouth, a shrill cry of sheer pain entered Salima's ears. Looking up, she saw Kane clutching his abdomen with his arms, his eyes bloodshot and rheumy, as his feet trembled and body shook violently, before his limp body fell on the ground weakly.
"KANE!" Stumbling over to his side, before Salima could even touch her, the Azure-eyed glared sharply at her, despite the pain in his stomach killing him.
"Stay away from me!" Kane yelled out in despairing cries of pain, "If you actually love me, then go away! Get out of my life! You tried to kill me, you became an obstacle in the way of my dreams for my career! Go away, Salima! Don't ever show me your face again!"
The despairing cries of her lover were enough for Salima to back away. The waterworks never seemed to stop, as Salima cried her heart out. Standing up on her wobbly feet, she brought a knife from the kitchen before Kane could even notice it.
"The only way Salima could get out of Kane Yamashita's life," Salima whimpered between the sobs as Kane looked at her, his body not having a single ounce of energy, "is by taking away her life…"
Before Kane could register her words, the knife in her hand slashed the skin of her petite wrist as the veins tore open, with the red liquid of life pouring out with the speed of a bullet train.
"SALIMA!" Kane yelled clutching his stomach as he tried to sit up. The body of the red-haired girl fell down on the ground, as the sweet smile Kane had fallen for was still clinging onto her lips.
"NO!" Kane yelled out, tears streaming out of his eyes as he tried to stand up, but couldn't. "Salima!"
Everything became dark as Kane was no longer able to keep up with the pain of his stomach as well as his heart, the pain of the poison as well as the snatched away breaths of his love.
Was he the reason of her death?
END FLASHBACK (Present Day)
Kane looked out the window of his room, Azures locked at the pitter patter on the glass pane. It was raining heavily, just like the day he had last seen the love of his life. The sadness and grief, which was there on his face that morning was still intact, at this hour of evening.
"I never knew…" Kane spoke to none other than himself in the empty room, "I never knew that you would survive, Sal…"
'Though, I am glad that you did survive, I can't deny the fact that I am as upset as I am happy now…'
"I wish we would have never met today…" Was all came out of his mouth as he remembered the past days of hatred and remorse, of being cheated upon by the only love of his life.
"I would never forgive you, Sal." Kane gulped, trying to stick to his resolution, but if he actually wanted to do that, why were his eyes spilling out those tears?
…
