I updated this chapter as well, but I did actually add additional content to this one, unlike chapter 4. Enjoy, and please leave reviews letting me know what you think!

Bring on, bring on the rain

No I'm not gonna let it get me down
I'm not gonna cry
So bring on the rain, ooh

Bring on, bring on the rain
Bring on the rain
Bring on the rain, ooh

"Aren't there some weird people here?" questioned Haruhi

Kagome glanced around the family restaurant the girls had chosen before she noticed what Haruhi was talking about. A few tables over, there was a guy in a baseball cap with a kid who had the hood on his jacket up. Both of them had their faces covered, but to Kagome that long black hair looked all too familiar. Kagome stood up from her seat with the girls and marched over to where the two 'weird people' were sitting, and surprised the girls when she started speaking with them.

"Inuyasha, you don't need to follow me everywhere I go! I told you that I was going to see my friends today!" Kagome scolded. "And SHIPPO, how could you go along with him?"

The kid pulled his hood off to reveal a mess of auburn hair, brilliant green eyes, and a sheepish smile. He appeared to be just a few years younger than Kagome, but with her scolding him like that, it was almost like he was just a little boy. The man sitting next to him pulled his cap off to reveal his full head of long black hair, dark brown eyes, and a stubborn look on his face. The kid was first to speak.

"Kagome, we were just worried that you've been gone for so long. It isn't like you not to check in with us." he stated.

"I told you that I wouldn't be able to visit as much, I have school and other responsibilities. You guys stick out like sore thumbs here, you know that!" Kagome responded.

Kagome knew that was an understatement. She knew her middle school friends all thought Inuyasha was some kind of bad boy, with his long hair and somewhat eccentric way of dressing. Little did they know, he was dressed in a manner that would not stand out...500 years ago. Then there was Shippo, the young boy that she and Inuyasha had brought along with them on their journeys after he lost both of his parents. As a demon, he was cute as could be. In his human form, he was a VERY attractive young boy- striking eyes and an impish grin on his face most of the time, she knew he'd be very popular in the feudal era as he matured.

"If you had bothered to check in with us, we wouldn't have to come searching for you! I ran into that bastard again. I just know he's up to something." Inuyasha sneered.

Kagome sighed. "That bastard" Inuyasha referred to was Sesshomaru. As to why Sesshomaru was in the Kagome's time in the first place was this; after the last battle, each of them was granted one wish by the Shikon Jewel.

Miroku and Sango both made a wish concerning their whole reason for joining the fight; Miroku asked for his curse- the Wind Tunnel- to be broken. No more of his bloodline would suffer through it.

Sango had asked for Kohaku's life to be restored. She knew asking for her clan to be restored would be asking too much, but as long as she had Kohaku by her side, that was enough for her. They would restore the glory of the Demon Hunter Clan together.

Inuyasha asked for the freedom to change between his human, half-demon, and demon forms at will. He still wanted the strength to protect those he cared for, and was now able to travel easily through human villages with his human form whenever he wanted.

Shippo's had been for the protection of the rest of his species. Reviving demons was a much trickier task than reviving humans, this Shippo knew. He chose to instead protect the future of his species- in the hopes they wouldn't have to suffer like he did.

What was really shocking was Sesshomaru's wish. He had wished for an established life in Kagome's time- as Rin's guardian. Never had Kagome seen this side of Sesshomaru, that only wanted to protect the first human he'd ever cared for. She had supported his decision, feeling that he was sincere. Inuyasha, however, had suspected the worse. He believed Sesshomaru had ulterior motives for wanting to come to Kagome's time and was determined to not let Sesshomaru have his way. He did not believe that Sesshomaru would ever go so far for any human- a breed Sesshomaru had always been no less than disgusted by.

Kagome knew how Sesshomaru felt about Rin though. She felt the same way about Shippo- pain and pure happiness. Pain that they could not prevent or protect these children from the horrible things they had experienced, and the complete happiness that had filled them since having these two come into their lives, respectively.

To make matters with Inuyasha worse though, Kagome still hadn't told him about Sesshomaru's plan. This was something that Kagome had been dreading talking to him about but she knew it was time. She slid down into the chair across from the boys and started to explain the situation to Inuyasha.

Meanwhile, Serena and Mina kept craning their necks, trying to hear what Kagome was discussing with the two boys they'd never seen before. Nina and Tohru were staring wide eyed and Haruhi had an amused smile on her face.

Kagome had told her stories about Inuyasha and Shippo, but seeing her talk to them was pretty funny. She knew Kagome had had very strong feelings for Inuyasha in the past, feelings since she had since moved on from. Haruhi knew that Kagome still treasured Inuyasha, but she could tell from the way Kagome was acting that it was nothing more than that. Though she hadn't seen Kagome in years, she knew- Kagome considered this boy family.

Haruhi's thoughts were interrupted by Inuyasha suddenly jumping up, nearly knocking the table over

"HE'S GOING TO YOUR SCHOOL!," Inuyasha exclaimed. Kagome's face was a bright red at this point, from embarrassment and anger.

"He's going to TEACH there, Inuyasha. Calm. down. NOW.," Kagome said through gritted teeth.

"CALM DOWN? There's no way I'm going to let that bastard roam free around you. I'll rip him to piec-" Inuyasha was cut off by Kagome, who was standing up at this point with fire in her eyes.

"Inuyasha...SIT BOY!", Kagome commanded. Inuyasha crashed into the floor violently, Kagome standing over him with a furious expression on her face.

"You have no say in this Inuyasha. If you interfere, you will regret it.", Kagome stated. With that, Kagome turned away and headed towards the girls, who were sitting there staring at the scene, wide-eyed.

"Can we please get out of here...I've got something I wanted to show you guys anyways.", Kagome said, frustration shown clearly on her face. Haruhi was the first to speak up.

"Of course. I just have to stop by my place, Dad said he had something he wanted to talk to me about. He's been looking forward to seeing all of you guys as well.", she said, trying to cheer Kagome up.

Kagome gave a small smile, and started towards the girls. Tohru and Nina quickly stood up and headed for the door, trying not to look back at Inuyasha laying on the floor complaining. Serena and Mina were clearly shocked, and Haruhi had to usher them out.

Wide eyes followed the girls out the door, though some were more stunned than others. Because unknown to them, Kagome was not the only one who had people following her.

The girls continued down the sidewalk, Nina and Tohru in the front talking among themselves. Serena and Mina followed behind the two of them, glancing back occasionally at the stragglers of their small group- Haruhi and Kagome. Kagome was looking fairly dejected after the scene back at the family restaurant with Inuyasha. Haruhi walked quietly next to her friend, waiting for Kagome to speak. Kagome glanced over at Haruhi and then at the other girls. Suddenly she stopped and pointed at a small park up ahead.

"Can we stop at the park for a break?," Kagome asked softly. Haruhi looked sideways at her before speaking up.

"Sure. I was getting kind of thirsty anyway," Haruhi said. Kagome smiled, thankful once more for Haruhi's thoughtful nature. The girls all agreed and walked into the little park. Kagome walked over the the swing set and perched herself on one of the swings. Haruhi sat down on bench in front of the swings, and Mina and Serena draped themselves over the jungle gym.

"I'll go get drinks for everyone! What would you guys like?," Nina asked. She got everyone's requests and started off in the direction of the drink machine.

"I'll go with you!", Tohru declared brightly. Nina paused and waited for Tohru to catch up and they bounded off together. Kagome stared after them, and watched as the two goofed around. They gathered everyone's drinks, brought them back to the group, and passed them out. Kagome took a sip of her tea, and then she looked up at everyone. It was then she began to speak.

"Those guys back there...they're two of the new friends I've made that I've mentioned to you guys, Shippo and Inuyasha," she stated slowly. The girls all looked at each other, confused at Kagome's hesitation. "I haven't been completely honest about everything that's been going on with me since we were all last together...," Kagome said cautiously, looking up at the girls with guilt in her eyes. She launched into the long explanation of her adventures in the Feudal Era, her battles and struggles, her new friends that became like family as the girls all listened intently. She finished her story, and could not help but stare down at her grasped hands in her lap, not daring to look them all in the face.

"I'm sorry that I wasn't honest...I didn't want you all to worry about me after all we've been through these past few years," Kagome said quietly. It was silent for a few moments, the other girls looking at each other as they took in everything Kagome had said to them. Suddenly, they all burst into giggles, surprising Kagome and causing her head to lift up to look at them, causing them all to laugh harder. Mina was the first to speak up.

"I'm relieved that I wasn't the only one getting into all kinds of trouble these past few years", she giggled, eyes shining with tears from laughing. Kagome looked at her with wide eyes, before relaxing her face into a warm smile. She couldn't help but feel like a weight was lifted off her shoulders. What had she been so worried about this whole time? These girls were family to her.

"We should head over to my place guys - it's getting late, and Dad said he's been looking forward to seeing you all again.", Haruhi piped up. She looped her arm through Kagome's and headed off in the direction of her apartment, the others following behind laughing and chatting. The two walked in calm silence for a few moments before Haruhi spoke up.

"I was surprised to hear you speak so gently", she stated calmly. Kagome turned a shocked expression down at Haruhi, who had a slight smile on her face. "When we were kids, you were always running around and getting into all kinds of scrapes, beating up the boys who were mean to us, climbing trees and getting into trouble. More than the adventures you told us about, I think we were more surprised by how gentle your eyes looked when you talked about your new friends. You're normally a lot more stoic with your emotions", she chuckled. Haruhi turned her eyes up to Kagome and smiled. Kagome looked down at Haruhi for a moment before her eyes lit up and she smiled back.

"You're as serious as ever Haru. Please let me call you Big Sis", Kagome joked at her. Haruhi's face blanched as she was reminded of a certain blonde idiot and she sighed.

"There's actually a lot of stuff that I have to tell you guys too, before school starts. The people that I've been spending time with are...unique. They're kind of a handful. I don't think you guys will be able to avoid meeting them", Haruhi groaned. The girls all gave each other side glances. Haruhi wasn't usually one to complain about anything. How much trouble could these new friends of Haruhi's be?

"We're almost there", Haruhi announced. As they turned onto Haruhi's street, they had no idea how completely unprepared they were for the sight they were about to witness.

Ahhh, I hope you enjoy the addition I made to this chapter. I will be trying my best to upload regularly, and I already have the next chapter in the works!
